Have DS, 13 months. Stopped bf in Oct and immediately got pg but was chemical preg which I lost at 5 weeks. Now got BFP today, very excited. Quite faint line but definitely a line.

Anyone want to join?

Caveman....I live about 10 miles from Nottingham.

Bf was a disaster for me (LONG story) and not sure I am even going to try this time

FElt really awful all last night...really sick and hot and fed up. If its anything like last time I will be like this til week 24! I always seem to feel worse as the day wears on.....

TwilightSurfer · 09/12/2007 11:57

Morning all.
I pushed myself to hard yesterday running around trying to finish Christmas shopping before MS sets in. I've had nausea everday for almost two weeks...so almost since conception. Just feels like my tongue is trying to curl up or something which makes me feel gaggy. I'm guessing I'll have a bad go with MS this time. 4+3 today. GEEZ I've got a long way to go.

Kaz so glad you're among us. I failed at BF with DD. I had no idea it would be so difficult. I gave up completely after two weeks. It's important to me to not fail this time. What I learned the hard way was it's necessary to have help. Guideance and support is critical especially in those early days when you feel so bad anyway.

Raining buckets here...definitely a movies on the sofa day.

AngelGabrielhidinginaCaveman · 09/12/2007 12:20

Hey ladies, happy Sunday!

Just back from church and at least the rain has stopped for now . Trying to persuade dh to get off his ass and go somewhere as I can't bear the thought of staying in all day - makes the day seem soooooooooooooo long.

Slept for a good 10 hours last night despite ds waking me up at 7, I went downstairs and fell asleep on the sofa for another 2 hours .

Is anyone else still in shock? even despite the fact that we were trying!!

AngelGabrielhidinginaCaveman · 09/12/2007 12:21

becaroodolf, which side of Nott'm are you?

bigboydiditandranaway · 09/12/2007 14:06

I'm really impressed with anyone who breastfeeds, i tried for about a week and gave up because of bleeding nipples and the sheer pain of it like your nipples being clamped

Have been having a nap at lunchtimes which helps 100% advice anyone who get's chance anytime during the day to

IlanaK · 09/12/2007 14:43

Well I am felling happier today as I have had no further bleeding since wednesday night and still feel really pregnant. I have another scan on Thursday to confirm, but I think all is well.

Just wanted to mention about the breastfeeding, I am a counsellor with The Association of Breastfeeding Mothers (ABM). If you have had a previous bad experience with breastfeeding, it may be worth contacting a counsellor (through one of the helplines) to "debrief" before you have your baby. You can talk through your previous experience and talk about your concerns for next time. We are trained to help you with these issues. You don't have to wait until you are actually struggling with breastfeeding again to call a helpline. Our number is: 08444 122 949.

becaroodolf · 09/12/2007 16:23

Caveman,I am just off the M1 junction 25.

Ilanak...I would dearly love to breastfeed but my last experience was SO dreadful that I just dont think I am actually physically capable....

I had no milk til day 7, just blood before that, despite days of VERY painful manual/machine expressing. My ds was tiny - only 4lbs 15oz and only sucked at each breast about 6 times before becoming exhausted (undiagnosed prolonged jaundice) By day 7 my ds was in hospital with an NG tube in being given formula, so complete disaster (although I am very grateful to the formula as it gave him SOMETHING to eat, poor thing!)

Felt like SUCH a failure (still do, really) Just dont think my body is made for bf

Shazza2002 · 09/12/2007 17:16

Evening all.

Been very lazy today. Up at 8am, back to bed at 1:30pm until 4pm. So now feel really rough, knew sleeping in the day didn't agree with me but I just couldn't keep my eyes open

Hope everybody else is felling ok. The only thing reminds me that I'm pregnant is the cramping now and then and the nausea, other than that still don't really believe it. Only 5+4 so long way to go

kaz33 · 09/12/2007 19:20

Hi, I have lost the baby - probably for the best as it wasn't planned.

Good luck everyone with your pregancies and your little bundles.

Shazza2002 · 09/12/2007 19:27

Oh kaz33 I am really sorry. I am a strong believer that things happen for a reason, well that's what I am telling myself in preparation if something goes wrong, although at the time I am sure all reasoning will go out the window.

Really sorry to see you go, look after yourself and hope with it being christmas your little boys will keep you busy and help take your mind off it xxx

PoinsettiaBouquets · 09/12/2007 19:28

Oh Kaz, it still hurts the heart though. Look after yourself and each other.

Becaroo, sounds like the whole birth experience was a nightmare for you. It's all such a lottery isn't it?

I've had a flippin busy day, worked 7-12 then bussed into town for a rehearsal and 2 carol concerts. Am feeling unexpectedly queasy today, hoping it will stay just nausea and maybe I'll escape the vomit this time round. Yeah right.

Oh and I'm in Southampton btw.

Shazza2002 · 09/12/2007 19:29

Ilanak Really good news the bleeding has stopped. Fingers crossed for Thursday

AngelGabrielhidinginaCaveman · 09/12/2007 19:55

Becaroodolf, we're in Carlton (east side of Nottingham). Are you near Long Eaton? We were over in Chilwell this afternoon. I have a couple of friends live in Long Eaton.

Yay for lazy days - much deserved with all that bean-cooking we've got going on!

Sorry to hear about your loss, kaz33

gigglegirl, who are you a BFC with ? (just being nosey)

gigglegirl and IlanaK, Can I post a quick question ? How does your milk supply alter with pregnancy ? I have been reading the boards and everyone's experience seems to be different and my DD is not ready to wean yet.

becaroodolf · 10/12/2007 09:23

Caveman....I live about 2 miles from Long Eaton!

Just dropped ds off at nursery til 11.20 so might just pop back to bed for a quick doze....god I am so lazy!...there is so much to do around the house

TwilightSurfer · 10/12/2007 12:07

Morning! Feeling well (at the moment).

Kaz, very sorry to hear your news.

becaroodolf · 10/12/2007 12:42

Just made my first app with the midwife for 2nd Jan...and then I can get my dating scan booked (how exiting!!)

FoghornLeghorn · 10/12/2007 12:55

Morning all,
So sorry to hear your news Kaz Look after yourself x

If I hadn't taken a test I wouldn't have known I was pg either, I do not have 1 symptom whatsoever and it's worrying me slightly. With DD1 my boobs hurt horrendously, with DD2 I felt so tired I could fall asleep standing up but this time absolutely.
I do keep having a sharp shooting pain on right side, on my stomach but at hip sort of level - anybody else having this ?

FoghornLeghorn · 10/12/2007 13:01

Have booking in apt with midwife on 3rd Jan - will be 10 weeks then so hopefully wont have too long to wait for scan

AngelGabrielhidinginaCaveman · 10/12/2007 13:30

hee hee - had to do another pg test this morning to convince myself it's real!!

Got appt with mw on 16th Jan - should be around 10 weeks by then too.

SKF · 10/12/2007 13:59

Hullo all, hope you all had good weekends.

It is so nice to share stories on this board, although you are all so experienced! I am a total newbie and am still trying to come to terms with the news. I'm still to scared to read beyond chapter two of the pregnancy book I bought!

I'm currently feeling nauseous a lot of the time, really really tired, but most annoyingly am easily irritated and am not feeling sociable at all. This is not good with Xmas coming up. Everyone knows I like a glass of red wine, so trying to think of a plausible reason as to why I'm not drinking. Any ideas anyone?

ChaCha · 10/12/2007 15:57

So sorry to hear your news Kaz
Thinking of you.

ChaCha · 10/12/2007 16:00

Think i am just 5weeks today. No m/s as of yet. Main symptoms are headaches, hunger and tiredness, and running to the loo every so often already.

As there anyone else on a 3rd pregnancy or more? I feel 'bigger' already, didn't show till much later with others.

Shazza - My due date for now is 11 August but as i'll be having an elective section i'll know the exact date when i see the consultant. Could be a week before or even end July - unsure yet.

Hope to be on again later x
