BTW - Castor oil - What's all that about then ?

Ooooh the delights of castor oil

Its basically meant to kick things off and generally most women that do drink it end up with bad sickness and diorreah. Tbh I think its that what does it.

This one worked for another netter on the aug club from last year. She drank cumin tea at 37 weeks and had him at 37 weeks . 1 tsp of cumin powder or seeds with hot water and a bit of honey to sweeten if you wish.
I still cant bring myself to drink that.

I did the clary sage bath last week but I was't very liberal with it so tonight I'm going whole hog

NBG - Thanks for enlightening me. Might try the cumin but will def give the castor oil a miss

RG - Love your idea of going to the movies, might try that myself.

Loopy - Thanks for the tips. i may try some acupuncture although I'm told many practiononers won't treat you unless they did so before pg. MMMM

We went in for induction on Sunday night at 8, and had stop-and-start labour from then until Thursday night at 8, when Nova Aster finally popped out. And that was after several days of trying hard to get things going on our own. I didn't get an epidural until almost noon on Thursday, because I kept hoping that finally things were working. I can't tell you how discouraging it was on Tuesday when I'd been on Pitocin for 6 hours, having really hard contractions, and the midwife told me that in that time I'd gone from 1 cm dilated to 1.5 cm, and not much more thinned out, either. There was a huge crowd at the hospital on Wednesday, which is why the induction process sort of stalled then -- 3 women in labour, 2 delivery rooms, not a huge amount of staff.

Nova is extremely sleepy, and not latching on quite right. She was 8lb. 11 oz., though, so I think she still has some reserves. Big head, big feet, long baby. I had a tear or two at delivery, but they were very concerned to get her out ASAP at that point. We had 10 people in the room at one point, respiratory therapists, pediatrician, etc, etc. She had a little meconium in the fluid, but not too bad.

I am still quite tired, needless to say, and will look for everyone else's news later.

LOM - Glad you're gonna try and chill out re induction. It's really not worth worrying about until the time. Hmmm perhaps it wasn't you who suggested the movies then?! Who was it?! Sounds like you had a fab morning with cake! Yum! The cat is doing wonderfully, thanx for asking! The vet just gave her a steroid injection and an antibiotic injection and now her breathing seems to be perfectly fine again! I'll still have to take her back to the vet on Tuesday tho and no doubt they'll still want to x-ray her chest. Bah, what poo-pants!! Still, as long as it gets her sorted, that's all that matters.

Nbg - eeeewww re Caster Oil. There's no way i'd even attempt that! I might give the cumin tea a go if all else fails.

Oh and as for acupuncture, i happened to find someone who's got a practice down my road a few doors away!! Might give him a buzz tomorrow and see if he'll "stick me" sometime soon lol.

Aiki - HUGE CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! I did wonder today what was happening with you! What a complete pain you went on for so long, but at least Nova is here safe and sound and a lovely weight too. Well done. I've updated the list.

I have very definately finished throwing a wobbler re induction. Think I just needed to get it out of my system. I feel much more chilled now.

Loopy - Won't be giving the castor oil a go. Out of interest I wonder what the effects of going into labour with dehydration from dig dis are?

Might try the cumin tea though.

Morning LOM (note that my face does not look like that)

Great to hear your having niggles!

I thought again that things were kicking off last night.
I started to feel really sick and had to go lay down, it was awful.
Then after half an hour it passed and I started to get some tightnings but they wore off again.
Have been awake since 4am and have had lots of digging off the baby and a few tightnings but nothing regular.

Dh has been off for the last 4 days but is back at work today so I have my mum coming up when he's at work this week.
She'll be able to look after the kids while I rest

Cant believe there are only 4 of us left (from the regular posters). I wonder when our babies will turn up?!! DS said last week that he thought it was be Tuesday 4th December. Let's see, eh?!

I also had some tightenings in the middle of the night and woke up with a bit of dig dis too but i'm not reading anything into it. I did have a rather rich hot choc last night made with half double cream, half milk, and a pile of mini marshmallows on the top so i'm assuming that was the reason why.

DP said last night that he would be really nervous about me going to the pictures on my own "just in case". He was starting to panick about what happened if i got strong contractions whilst driving etc. I could always drag DS along i spose but i'm not sure it would be his sort of film. I could always threaten him with being grounded if he didn't come along.....

Still no baby here... Saw the obs today and baby still isn't engaged. Boo hoo!! I am getting really fed up!!

Especially as my Mum is staying with us and since last Fri my MIL is staying here too. My DD thinks it is fab to have her own personal entertainers/slaves, I want my house back!!

Hopefully baby will be here soon....

Well i have decided i wont be going to the pictures after all as DS wont go with me, the little tyke!! I suppose it's not cool to be seen with your heavily pg mum when you're 17 years old!

I've decided instead to get some popcorn and maybe some other goodies from my usual haunt (Asda) and continue watching Series 1 of Heroes, before moving on to Series 2. Just waiting for the enthusiasm to show itself to get me moving first tho!

I've updated the list because somehow Choudru's daughter's birth date was wrong. Bloody pg brains, eh?!

LOM - Great, i'll pick you up in half an hour, ok? If you want, you are more than welcome to borrow Heroes. I have it on DVD as well as my portable hard drive so when i've finished with series 1 in a week or so you are more than welcome to borrow the DVDs for a few weeks. Let me know and i'll whizz them in the post for you when i'm done.

I'm feeling a bit squiffy today too. Had dig dis this morning and then while i was at Asda i came over all peculiar - a bit light headed i think. Might have been coz i'd not eaten since breakfast and needed some energy. I've just had some toast now so hopefully i'll start to feel a bit better soon.

DP is home early today so we're gonna snuggle up on the sofa with the popcorn and i'm gonna get him into Heroes.

I have a weird feeling that LO will be coming soon and that i wont need my appointment on Friday. I have a feeling that i wont make the vet's appointment tomorrow morning. We shall see!

Loopy - the niggles are horrible after a sweep aren't they and then to have Cinderalla on top of that!! I truly sympathise!!! Let's hope your niggles are not empty niggles like mine were lol.

wahey! hello everyone i am back, hello to everyone who has joined since i disappeared into the ether - been renovating out new house and moving since early september when our computer broke shorlty afterwrds and it has taken me till 5 mins ago to get the blooming internet working in our new plce. damn virgin, damn and blast them for making it all too complicate for me!!! nearly had pregnant lady tears on the phone to them just now as i couldn't work the wireless. ahh,,,,breathe,,,relax....it's all ok now.
Haven't read through everyone's news and DP will be home and will hog the puter all noght soon so a v quick update from me till tomorro probably.
I'm now 40 + 9 argh
