JFly · 02/01/2008 17:49

Sweet cakes, merryberry!

imjin100 · 02/01/2008 18:06

kettle is on for anyone around to eat the yummy looking cakes. Preggers - you may get the lions share having done all the work!

piggyp · 02/01/2008 18:38

Cake - good idea! DH is not happy at being on post christmas diet without me! Glad you had a good wedding timmy!
Any recomendations on nappies - cottontail organic or bambinex - any experiences?
How soon before their due date is everyone planning to be organised ie; nursery sorted and bag packed? I thought we had ages but maybe not! I'm having a 'yikes actually having a baby!' moment!

PurlyQueen · 02/01/2008 18:49

We will feel like old hands by September

skidoodle · 02/01/2008 19:48

Hi everybody, glad to hear all is well

congratulations preggers! that's such fanstastic news about your girls. I can't believe our first babies have arrived. We're all grown up now. Best wishes for the next few weeks until you get to bring Carys and Amelia home.

imjin - I'm having the same nocturnal playtime issues. It's only started recently. I had been having no issues with sleeping but now it's hard to get comfortable and I can't get to sleep after I wake for my 5am wee.

PQ - you're right. Wow there are ladies that know they're pregnant now and by the time their babies are born ours will be 6 months old. Really amazing.

I had some fantastic news over Christmas - my sister and one of my best friends are both expecting. I'm really thrilled as it means solidarity from other pregnant ladies and also neither had the easiest of times conceiving. It's still first trimester for both so keeping fingers and everything crossed for them until first scans. It feels so long ago that we were back there feeling sick and tired and with no constant kicking.

Last night I dreamt I had a pouch like a kangaroo and I had a series of furry creatures living in there until they were ready to come out. what kind of baby is this going to be, if indeed it is a real human baby and not some kind of rabbit?

e14mum · 02/01/2008 21:44

Congratulations preggers!! I'm so glad that the girls are well

I am definitely in the third trimester. My mom and dad are visiting right now and I just can't keep up the way I could even a few weeks ago.

Pip is breech at the mo- transverse actually I think. I have 2 hard bits on either side of my bump, and the kicks come out the front on each side too. It's been like that for weeks now. Should I be on my hands and knees daily yet?

It's good to hear everyone is well. Here's to our last 2 months (and a bit!)!!

surprisedandexcitedmum · 02/01/2008 21:48

piggy p DP is making me pack my bag in Jan. I've been out and bought the nasty disposable pants, maternity pads and even bed liner things - not my favourite ever boots shop. I haven't packed yet but it will be soon even though I have 9 weeks to go. If it stops DP from stressing it's a small price to pay!

modsaluk · 02/01/2008 22:17

Congratulations Preggers !!!!

It brings it home that we are in our final trimester, we have not got anything for the twins yet but looking forward to getting it all ready and prepared now.

Been to see the consultant today and had to have another scan to check the umbilical cord was delivering all it needs to to the babies, took the poor midwife ages as they kept moving. Anyway all is well just need to go back in three weeks and get checked again.

Think i have started to have Braxton Hicks never had then with DS so was quite worried when it happened, felt like a dull ache in my bump. Also been quite unconfortable for the last few days although the consultant told me if thats all it was i was quite lucky as most people expecting twins experiance more discomfort which did not really reassure me lol. Having gavison on a nightly basis usually a couple of times a night and having restless legs still nothing seems to help really.

Anyway glad you are all well.

merryberry · 03/01/2008 08:00

its all boys aloud on here papaya! congratulations

hey timmy, does it feel different loads to be married? dp and i keep meaning to get round to it...

spugs · 03/01/2008 08:37

had a bit of a panic last night and realised might need to start getting a bit more organised, babys room is full of boxes at the min and needs decorating plus i still need to get a few bits and piec\es. still have almost 12 wks to go though! reckon i might make the last to deliver

HolidaysQueen · 03/01/2008 08:45

Morning all - I'm officially third trimester as of today. Hurrah!

Merryberry - I got married in March after living with DH for 5 years and it felt hugely different for some reason, which surprised us both. More secure and together somehow, even though it's not as if we were rocky or uncertain or anything before, and only moved in together originally because we were certain it was for life anyway. Plus having a day with all the people you love in one room was amazingly special. I love being married! But then we're lucky in that our parents have both had 30-35 years of good marriage and are still going strong so I think we both always had it in our heads that marriage was what we ultimately wanted.

e14 - my baby was traverse at the 22 week scan and I don't think he has shifted. I get kicks bottom left and some weird weird movements at middle right which I think is him rubbing his hands up and down my uterus wall - get no movement up near my ribs at all (for which I'm quite grateful for now!). I have a check up today and going to see if they can work out how he is lying.

PS After six months on here I've finally worked out how to put people's names in bold. Oh, I am so clever sometimes...

HolidaysQueen · 03/01/2008 08:47

Ah spugs, I'll be fighting you for last baby (and probably last to be organised - I have nothing but an empty room and a few babygros at the moment!) My brother and I were both late (him by over two weeks) so I wouldn't be surprised if I'm still hanging around by mid April...

piggyp · 03/01/2008 10:33

e14 - my LO is breech at the moment, MW said they don't do anything till 36 weeks as there is still time for it to move around. I have been trying to sleep on my left side though.
Dreamt I had the baby last night and he had some milk then he looked up at the nurse and said 'actually could you get me a coffee, please' also he had mad orange curly hair. ummm.
Has anyone used tots bots bamboozle nappies before?

timmyinatizzy · 03/01/2008 10:39

Merryberry - It doesn't feel any different at all really. But then we were like an old married couple anyway!

gingercat12 · 03/01/2008 13:18

Huge congratulations Preggers! We were away for the holidays, but was constantly checking how you are doing

MerlinsBeard · 03/01/2008 13:26

massive congratulations Preggers Glad to hear everyone is doing fine

Sorry to have been awol for ages. I feel like an alien in here sometimes.

It could potentially be me next [worried] have another scan in 24th Jan to see if placenta has moved at all and what happens next either way.

gingercat12 · 03/01/2008 13:28

Turtle My GP did the letter free. As I am quite big, the check-in people did actually ask for it.

turtle23 · 03/01/2008 13:30

Ginger...got it from the midwives in the end (for free) I am huge too so knew I'd have to provide it! Am hoping they may take pity on me and upgrade us...heehee

welcome back mumofmonsters. I hope you are ok. I read elsewhere a post which indicated that this isn't a happy time of year for you - so just wanted to let you know I had been thinking of you.
hope you're doing ok.
Hope everyone else ok today. I saw a consultant today to check a previous scar - they are happy I try for normal delivery which is nice to know, even if it doesn't go to plan. Personally have no fear about the birth side of things - what will be will be and all that, much more fearful about life changing event of a baby in the house but assume will change life for the better so just pottering along. Had a lovely friend to lunch today - after a nother night of no sleep - watching tv from 3am, i am having another lazy day. Bliss bliss bliss.
Sorry to anyone who is stressed, pressured or not happy today.

preggersagain · 03/01/2008 16:46

hello ladies- girls are fine, they are being moved into lower dependancy incubators tomorrow hopefully, Carys has just taken a 30 minute feed from me so she's doing well, not sure how much she actually got out but at least she's trying! We already have a mummy's girl and a daddy's girls, millie is all dh and carys prefers me

I'd start a post natal thread for march mums but i fear i would be chatting to myself for a good few weeks so i'll stay here and bore the rest of you until i have some more ante-natal graduates to chat to !!

Managed to use my mooncup last night (twas quite eye-watering believe me) and have a dunk in the hot-tub- best take the opportunity before the girls turn the place upside down!

gingercat12 · 03/01/2008 16:54

MissingMyHeels My bump is definitely very wriggly and the punches are sometimes low. I feel I have to keep my legs crossed in case baby wants to pop out On the other hand he also practices walking on my ribs

Turtle Have a wonderful holiday!

I can't believe it is only max. 9 weeks left till I meet my LO. Just started to do shopping like mad. Well, only the shopping list so far.

We had a lovely Christmas and NYE with my parents and in-laws. My Mom is absolutely smitten with my bump. LO was gracious enough even to jump when she could see it (he never normallly does it for anybody). But of course everybody else loved bump, too.
