Not very original, but the thread WAS becoming ridiculously big.

lol so its all good then

so are we having boys? girls? boys and girls???

GLAMpresentsforMAMAplease · 13/12/2007 23:04

Congratulations jingles!!! I'm so pleased to see your good news.

We're all having boys, except for those of us who don't know! There are a couple of girls but they are heavily outnumbered. Must have been something in the water!

Keep in touch as I'd love to follow your progress. Your attitude and spirit were inspirational all those months ago

skidoodle · 13/12/2007 23:15

that's wonderful news Iliketojingle I'm so pleased for you

things are pretty good around here. people pop in and out, seem to be busier with real life now that we have 2nd trimester energy (not for much longer).

some of us are getting a bit anxious and neurotic, we seem to be eating our (not inconsiderable) weight in sweets, depilation is starting to prove problematic and we are getting kicked in some rather sensitive places.

happy days

congratulations on your exciting news and please keep in touch as glamma said.

fitnforty · 14/12/2007 08:19

Surprised&excited - good luck with the GTT today, it wasn't as bad as i thought apart from the drink giving me indigestion and not being able to swig gaviscon for 2 hours!

Ladies having BHicks already -are you on first or more than one baby already? Apparently on the hypnobirthing thing they said if we do all the breathing exercises we may not get them as we're doing the warm up practice for the body instead!

Perineal massage - starting that around 32 wks with sweet almond oil. DH ain't coming anywhere near me unless he's trimmed his fingernails to non-existent length first. I was horrified when i first read what it involved as i thought you just had to do the external bits

HQ - don't blame you for panicking, i keep thinking mine's being very quiet as his pattern has changed. Try putting a mobile phone on your tum and see if the baby kicks that off, they don't like 'em

Imjin, i went sugar free for 4 days before my GTT so have complete sympathy for the horrors of 6 weeks without the addictive stuff, over xmas/new year as well! Doesn't help much, but at least you'll be healthier for it

Timmy - great news on the house move, but are you totally mad going through that as well as a wedding?!!!

PQ - Ramps was in your office, tell me more! Can't wait for the xmas special of Strictly CD, this year hasn't the same without him

Glammama- belated happy birthday, hope you enjoyed it

And Iliketojingle, what a great Christmas present for you, congratulations!

fitnforty · 14/12/2007 08:24

Got our office party tonight, not sure what to wear but think it'll be some corsetty affair i got before i went up the duff...it isn't too boned and has ribbon at the back so i can loosen over the bump!

Also pleased to have been given a badge to park in the disabled spaces at work now, the 1/2 mile trek from the far end of the car park was doing my head in specially when the pelvis was playing up. DH has taken over early morning dog walking duties as well as the rest of the day now, so i get to do bugger all exercise now! Except of course, when he goes off socialising straight from work like tonight (again) and leaves me to do walkies then. Anyone else finding their DH taking the piss on the social front to make the most of it while they can?

Neighbour is moving in with us today, really can do without all that right now as he's bringing in loads of boxes and storing them in the nursery which i'm busy trying to declutter so i can redecorate! At least he's had an offer accepted on a new house yesterday so hopefully he'll be out before i go on mat leave early feb!

merryberry · 14/12/2007 08:42

b'nora fitnforty, you are kind having him in still, your neighbour. Would drive me nuts.

am also jealous of dp out and about so much more than me, mind you that 3 weeks of pleurisy malarkey was to blame more than the PG.

have just read a very balanced thread (well its well balanced as i post here!) about pain and pain management childbirth here

HolidaysQueen · 14/12/2007 09:11

iliketojingle/sleep - such fabulous news for Christmas! Yay yay yay!

I had DH's Christmas party last night. It is a new job, and was black tie so I was a bit nervous about looking like an elephant when I was meant to be making a good impression. It turned out that there were about 10 pregnant women there, some more elephantine than me so I felt a lot better. Plus I also easily won the mummy cleavage award - my 34Hs were in a push up bra for the first time in months so were relishing their freedom! - so am feeling very proud . And the best bit (for all you Strictly fans) was that there was a surprise performance by Anton du Beke and Erin Boag!!! They were fab - she wore beautiful dresses, he had a cheesy grin and they danced divinely. Although of course DH and I danced as divinely to Madonna a little later on...

Oh god, must do work. Toodle pip all - will no doubt check in later.

iliketojinglethembells · 14/12/2007 09:26

sounds like your all doing great so wonderful to hear or read!!

I must admit there is still part of me thats thinking i would be 20+ weeks now, would know the sex etc but whats the point in dwelling on the past when i have a new little life (and 3 exsisting) to look after!

I told you though didnt i, august again!!

so that makes it

dd1 27th juy
dd2 18th august
ds1 26th august
dp 7th august and
edd 8th-10th august

august 08' is going to be a very busy month!!

preggersagain · 14/12/2007 10:02

i object to being labeled as accident-prone !!!!!!! twas the floors fault combined with the council and the weather my sparkly cast is very festive though

ilike- congrats, it'll def be a busy time of year for you!! I'm one of the out-numbered ones having girly babies- but have done my bit by producing two of them

iliketojinglethembells · 14/12/2007 10:07

twins??

HolidaysQueen · 14/12/2007 10:10

preggers tried having just one baby once, but decided twins was much simpler... and that it allowed double the shopping opportunities

iliketojinglethembells · 14/12/2007 10:13

lmao

preggersagain · 14/12/2007 10:20

very funny!!!!!!!!!!

what can i say- i can't resist 2 for 1 offers

imjin100 · 14/12/2007 10:43

ILike, congratulations -fantastic news. Keep us posted and keep this little bean safe and sound. What a month august will be!

Hapy bday Glamma, sorry I forgot to post yesterday but hope you had a lovely time.

HQ - adore the strictly thing. I organised a charity thing a couple fo years back and had those two amongst others along - seeing them dance live is seriously impressive I think even if the cheesy smiles do get a bit much!

Thank you all so much for your lovely words of encouragement. I am much cheered and know it'll be fine. Bought myself some cheese and oatcakes to keep me occupied today and already dreaming of crumpets for tea with sugar free jam! Am off to my parents tonight and my father is diabetic so can be sure to find sugar free treats around the place! Thank you all - felt bad for my whinge as in the big scheme of things it's a minor detail but appreciated your listening and not doing the man thing of trying to find the solution and always be positive - sometimes we just need a moan don't we! All that said the healthy eating is a big plus and the fact that I might not actually continue to balloon at quite the same rate has to be a good thing! Definitely a bonus!

Have a great friday everyone - it's friday...can you believe how quickly the weeks are going past. I appear to be 29 weeks today (according to the midwife - i thought I was 28+5!) 29 weeks - that's 11 to go....[imjin runs away to bury head in sand]

surprisedandexcitedmum · 14/12/2007 10:56

Fitnforty should I have gone sugar free? I'm only just poppng out for my lucozade!

I had aless glamourous do yesterday, but after hosting a cocktails game, a pool tournament and a quiz, I realised when I was in the pub at 6 that I had been on feet - really on my feet - since 9:15. By the time i got home my anlkles had turned into cankackles and my carpal tunnel ssue was back! Such a light weight these days.

Hooray for working from home because of ante-natal appointments!

e14mum · 14/12/2007 11:48

Imjin, I always see the mw on a Tuesday, and so far she has written my gestation as 11, 16+3, 21+4 and 25+2 in my book, so I'm not sure her skills with the spinny-wheel-date-thingy are totally up to par!

Amazing how close it's all getting though, eh?

surprisedandexcitedmum · 14/12/2007 11:51

It's all scarily close. But sometimes I feel like it's a lttle too far away; I guess that's when I'm excited.

82 days and counting...

derah · 14/12/2007 12:45

Hello ladies

Brilliant new ilike!! DD is an August baby - great time to have 'em!

I'm in a festive mood today.... last day at work before Christmas hols, and we're out tonight for DH's work do. It's one of these mass parties in a giant marquee where lots of groups all party together (DH's company is small so it would be quite a miserable affair otherwise). I really enjoyed last year's, but I wish I could drink!!

Aaaaaaaaaand, we're off to sunny South Africa on Wed so all is well in the land of Derah! DD is so excited about going on an aeroplane!

merryberry · 14/12/2007 13:25

ah yes, that was a bit of a suprise this am, finding out it was friday - talk about accident prone pgagain - i had somehow 'lost' thursday somehow and was conviced today was it. made an absolute tit of myself texting my usual thursday arrangements people, who all texted back saying 'we thought you were having a quiet day', dp left the house laughing at me.

um.

imjin100 · 14/12/2007 13:28

have caught derah's festive spirit and feeling very jolly despite no party and no trip to South Africa to get excited about.

Someone bought me a bag of cheese tasters from M&S - they are delicious and must almost be calorie free as they contain a lot of air and no sugar.

Merryberry, have done the same myself before now - you're lucky you didn't get the day wrong on a monday or tuesday - a lovely bonus that suddenly it's the weekend!

piggyp · 14/12/2007 16:42

Congratulations Iliketojingle! Imjin - I think we are due around the same time, very weird to think of 11 weeks! Actually, quite scary!
Has anyone else's brain turned to mush? I had 28 week mw appointment today - blood test results were a high bit for glucose - but then I remembered that I forget to fast and had a big bowl of readybrek with lots of sugar about 20mins before the test. Have to be retested now! Also I have managed to go to work without my handbag, a traumatic day! Generally seem to be wandering round not knowing quite what I am tring to do, randomly opening cupboards and looking for things.
The festive season seems a bit of a challenge - no lovley cheeses, wine or sparkily dresses to wear! Are we allowed to eat smoked salmon?

GLAMpresentsforMAMAplease · 14/12/2007 16:47

Smoked salmon is definitely on the menu here in GlamTowers, piggyp

piggyp · 14/12/2007 16:55

yahay!

e14mum · 14/12/2007 18:04

Hooray! I saw a lovely physio this afternoon who has given me some stretches for the cause of the sore hips(my biggest complaint, which I am fully aware is actually minor!). Turns out it isn't pelvic girdle pain, but tight piriformis muscles.

Also, have been ok'd to sleep on my back- apparently if the baby was lying on my major blood vessels I'd know about it as I'd be dizzy within 5 minutes. And as long as you're propped up on a couple of pillows you're ok too (according to the physio).

The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Women's Health website(www.acpwh.org.uk) has some really useful leaflets on it. Stretches for restless legs and rib pain in the Fit for Pregnancy one.

Mmmm... smoked salmon. Have a festive weekend everyone!

skidoodle · 14/12/2007 18:35

I'm totally having cheese and wine this Christmas piggyp.

Apparently if you're French it's not bad for you, so I'm having a French pregnancy.

fnf - there are instructions for this perineal massage business? where might one find them?
