OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
susiemj · 23/11/2007 17:32

Just a quick one -

Barristermum - did you get the black and white nighties? Are they the faffy ones? Ta

Lulubump · 23/11/2007 17:34

Susiemj - I have one of the black Next nighties with white lace at the neck, if those are what you mean. Find it v comfy, though might be a bit weird to use the slits for pooking boobs through when breast feeding, but v happy with it for now.

susiemj · 23/11/2007 17:36

Those are the ones. LOL at that image!

nicky6 · 23/11/2007 18:07

ok have caught up but now no time to post .

Sleeping ok, on left side with long pillow cuddled up to me, lo does kick but i work on the basis it will soon move itself into a comfrotable position sos i just let it kick a bit.

ANyway work manic and been working really hard.

TIme to go now though x

katyt1 · 23/11/2007 18:15

re sleeping...same as everyone really, awake every few hours to move or pee
have learnt that it's easier to roll over via my front if that makes sense? get onto all fours then lay down again on other side rather than rolling over on my back. feel like an elephant doing that but it stops my pelvis clicking...

ahhh, it's gone 6, that means i can put night garden on and not feel too lazy

thank god ds loves it....

ayrshirelolo · 23/11/2007 21:26

Hi folks!
AAAAAAARRGGGGGHHH!!! just spent 10 mins typing a reasonable catch up post, clicked on the wrong damn button and now it's gone!
Sorry, but too tired to repeat it all! Short version - lulu - respect for trying, pal... better luck next time! All examiners are horrid anyway!
Luckysalem, how did you go? Hope everything ok!
Mrsmcj, glad scan was groovy! looking forward to seeing you Tuesday!
Fluffy, likewise! And bring your thermals.... ruddy Baltic up here just now, and you with a cold too!
Awen, wish you hadn't made that weeble reference earlier in the week...... can't get it out my mind as i wobble about just now(but don't fall down..!)
sleeping - like everyone else, left side, big pillow, keep rolling over, last night woke myself up with my own snoring! (sophisticated and attractive, n'est pas?? )
Hi to everyone else, Nicky, Katy, madmouse, mixed, barristermum, everyone... all the usual suspects! Will press "post" now before i lose it all again and throw PC out of nearest window..... Have a fab weekend everyone!! lolo xx

LilyLoo · 23/11/2007 21:30

Just popping in to wish everyone a restful and hopefully sleep filled weekend
Lilyloo xx

LuckySalem · 23/11/2007 22:00

Evening all,

Went to my appeal and then got home at 3pm and went to bed and slept till 1/2 hr ago lol

My appeal went great, they've near enough done a U-turn. Got there and it was with the great big boss (who is a lovely guy) and someone they'd hired from a HR company. They asked me what I was appealing and I said the outcome, I agreed that company emails shouldn't have been used or company time but not that it should have resulted in gross misconduct and dismissal as it was not bullying.
We went through the bullying bit and I argued the fact that as far as I was aware it was a private conversation and would never had been made aware to the person being "bullied" also that if I had not been pregnant I would have resigned but I didn't have that "liberty"
They've now changed it to a serious misconduct which still means i'm fired BUT I get my full pay and maternity pay. So 1 month normal pay then 9 months mat pay. AND if they're requested to do a reference for me they will not mention any of this as if I hadn't been pregnant I would have quit.
It was really funny cos it felt like they had my appeal letter and then got this guy in (from HR) who's gone "What the hell have you done and how can I fix it?"

Anyway, am all happy now cos I haven't got any money worries, all it means is at the end of my mat leave I have to find a new job which was where I was anyway cos I wasn't going back there anyway.

Baby was kicking me the whole way through the meeting, was lovely. DP just gone to work so feeling a little lonely but the cats are keeping me company. EVEN IF I AM GOING TO KILL THEM IN A MINUTE IF THEY KEEP TEARING ROUND THE HOUSE!! lol

Thanks for the whole thing about my mum, I had a word with her today and told her she was basically doing my head in and that she's to stop worrying as i'm not going to endanger myself or baby and she seemed a little better and said she would still give her "advice" but wouldn't be so presurising when she does.

Sorry can't remember names BUT......
congrats on the sick leave and sod them till you get there in the new year AND
sorry bout the driving test, she sounds like a witch!!

sabinar · 23/11/2007 22:55

yay Lucky, that's great news about your appeal - congratulations! So glad you don't have that to worry about anymore!

re: driving test - I failed my first driving test years ago for accidentally turning left when the instructor said right... I'm also pretty hopeless at tell left from right - have to check what rings are on what hand to be sure ;)

went to the osteo today and she's a bit concerned that my ankle could be fractured but we think it's just a very bad sprain... she's done some work on it and given me some stuff to do with it and I'm going back on Tuesday to see how it's doing. She also did some work on my poor sore ribs, I'd love to get them sorted out some time soon.

LO is incredibly squirmy at the moment - his moves have changed completely in the past week - think he must be seriously running out of space! They showed us some dolls which were '32 week size' in NCT class this week and they were enormous! Hard to believe there is that much baby inside!

Hope you all have a great weekend. I've got a day of conference tomorrow and a day of rest (or, more likely, house work) on Sunday.

LuckySalem · 23/11/2007 23:04

I struggle with lefts and rights. I actually wrote it on my hands so I knew where to turn and cos I'd told the instructor before hand that I didn't know, he was quite nice and said as long as you do the turn correctly I won't fail you for it. I'm glad cos I went the wrong way twice!! hahaha. I think it helped that it was a "he" and I was a 18yr old "she"

susiemj · 24/11/2007 12:04

Well done Luckysalem. I'm glad your financial worries are over until end of mat leave.

Sorry about driving test. I'm not sure I'd pass a 'washing up test' let alone an actual skill right now.

Sabinar - my beanie has started squirming loads too. Last night in bed I had a dream that I was telling DH about it, looked down and all the arms and legs were coming out. I had to take the baby out, while telling DH to get the ambulance! I think too many people have been telling me this baby is going to be early. Somehow, that's what everyone's saying. Think it's because she's big, so so am I. . Tummy is also pretty low. Can't say I'd mind but preferably with some notice, not like dream!

beller · 24/11/2007 12:09

Morning all!

I had yesturday off for an all day session of NCT It was good though, and im making some nice local pregnant friends
Havnt had a chance to catch up on everything...but..

Amani - I am sleeping on left side with a dream genii pillow...Must admit the best £40 I have spent so far!!! I have a fab nights sleep now, dont roll anywhere and only wake up for quick loo breaks, but get back to sleep again quickly xx

Luckysalem - My NCT classes add up to 18 hours in total!! , Im really enjoying them though and making some good friends. Really pleased you got the outcome you wanted from the appeal and the moeny situation is sorted.... xx

Ainatax - Welcome to the madhouse!

I have 1 more week at work! woo-hoo, think next week is last week for quite a few of us? I have my nephews 13th "bond themed" party tongiht...that should be an eye opener...think im on Roulette!
Hope everyone is having a good w/e...Babybel is moving loads and can really take my breath away at times! 5 more weeks until d-day!
xxxxxxxxxxxxx

LilyLoo · 24/11/2007 14:13

Congrats on the appeal Lucky, think they still got off lightly but the main thing is you can now rest without money worries. Good on you for speaking to your mum too.
Wow Beller sounds great are you dressing up ?Lulu what a bummer tbh i am struggling to get comfy to drive this time around so good on you for even trying.
Ainatax welcome

MamaMaiasaura · 24/11/2007 14:48

lulubump- sorry about the driving test. Agree with susie, I cant even put the washing machine on without cocking it up (washed new mobile).

Luckysalem - Am glad the meeting went well and that you will not have the money worries and that they will give you a good reference. If you do decide after LO is older that you want to return to work, the perfect reason for not returning to prev work place is that you felt like a change of direction after LO born.

Sabinar - The class sounds really interesting especially being able to visualise a 32 week baby. Mine ones movements went alot more squirmy from about 32 weeks, def running out of room. 35 weeks nearly! Could be as little as 3 weeks before LO arrives as ds1 was 38 weeks.

Nicky - like your attitude about letting baby kick it out and get itself comfy again.

Barristermum - Glad that your dad is doing well

Mixedmama - over your temp especially after all the bum licking she has been doing and getting you in trouble.

I have had a really busy time.. but Got completely surprised last night. I went to my sisters house to watch movie and a group of my girlfriends, sisters and mum were there for surpise baby shower. It was such a shock. My best friend and dp had arranged it all in secret and i was clueless. So so sweet. I didnt think baby showers happened once you already had one baby (although never had a shower with baby no1). I feel really touched and unworthy which sounds ridiculous. Just taken by surprise and didnt really know what to say or do

Pudding has hiccups right now, and I am about to scoff a whole pizza (only had a starburst chew today so not feeling guilty). Ds is away for weekend with his dad again so I am blitzing house as they are taking photos on Monday. Car hunting on Tuesday again.

ayrshirelolo · 24/11/2007 20:55

Hi everyone!
Just popping to say hello, hope everyone having a nice restful weekend, although sounds like you're all doing loads! Went to shops today and bought a cutsy wee set half price in Woolies which has 3 sleepsuits, 3 vests, hat and mittens all in a sweet wee unisex pattern - i love a bargain! Have put it in a pile with my clean maternity nighties, and pack of 3 cheap Asda knickers... Oh NO!!! that means i've started packing, doesn't it!!!!
Lucky glad you gor the result you wanted, but agree with Lilyloo they got off lightly!Beller, the NCT classes sound like they'll prepare you for anything, and i'm a bit - always wanted to be a Bond girl!!! (if you could see me sitting here wearing old joggy bottoms with no make up on, stuffing my face with pretzels, eying up the mince pies, wondering how early i can go to bed..... very Ursula Andress!!!)
Sabinar, i know what you mean, i have a very good preg book writen by a consultant obs / gyn who is also a mum (Lesley Regan - i think that's her name but too bloody lazy to go and check!)and it's got life size photos etc in it... beanie is really getting big now! I'm only 30 weeks, a couple of weeks behind you but it still takes my breath away when (s)he starts doing the lambada in the middle of the night! Ouch!!
Awen, baby shower sounds lovely!!! So nice it was a surprise too, and i'm sure you're not unworthy!! Hope the pizza was fab
Susiemj that sounds like a fun dream, someone older and much wiser once told me that no one has ever had a baby when asleep, which i suppose is true but not much comfort!!
Sabinar hope the ankle is a bit less painful, sounds like a good excuse to do no housework if you ask me, take it easy woman!!
I'm looking forward to a nice morning in bed tomorrow, my adorable dh has offered to take the wee one to his mum's for breakfast and leave me sleeping. What a love!! Also means he gets a full scottish fry up.... not good for his arteries or waistline, and he'll also cover the whole plate in salt without me to winge at him - so it keeps us both happy! Wee one gets to play at her nana and papa's house and get spoilt rotten, so everyone pleased!!Result!
Hope everyone has a good rest - as far as possible, and am well for all of you who only have one more Monday morning to go.... night night! lolo xx

LuckySalem · 24/11/2007 21:31

Guys!! I'm panicking here abit, I hope someone is about.

I've been having what I thought were braxton hicks quite regularly for about an hour. Now ive just gone to the loo and it wasn't a wee I needed (I don't think)

Should I be calling the hospital or ignoring it?

Naetha · 24/11/2007 21:38

LS - Give your midwife a call - don't think anyone else can offer good advice on here other than her!

LuckySalem · 24/11/2007 21:39

I'll feel so stupid if I go in there and they tell me not to be a wuss!! lol.

I'll ring her and see what she says, hopefully they'll just tell me to stop being stupid OR that i'm in labour. Don't want them to have me in for "monitoring"

gingeme · 24/11/2007 21:49

Luckysalem its better to be safe than sorry. Realy ring your mw now. Then she will put your mind at rest. Trust shes done this a thousand times before . Keep us posted. x

LuckySalem · 24/11/2007 21:52

well I've just had a quick word with her and she says to leave it for a bit as "contractios" if thats what they are are at least 7 mins apart and only lasting a min at most. She says if it gets stronger or quicker then I have to go in, I've got MW in a week and she'll check if waters have gone but apparently there wasn't enough liquid for it to be waters so they're not worried and don't think that's what it was.

I've just woke DP up to tell him and he panicked!! Was sooo funny.

gingeme · 24/11/2007 21:55

Sounds good. Goos luck. lol at dp. Whats he got to panic about its only a baby for goodness sake. Hope you have a restful night. x

LuckySalem · 24/11/2007 22:01

He's panicking cos "it's early" and "we're not ready" "where's it going to sleep" lol, so funny. I've sent him to get a shower ready for work. SOO funny.

Anyway, I'm going to bed in a bit as it is actually not too bad, just uncomfortable.

gingeme · 24/11/2007 22:09

Ah bless him. Ok sleep well. x

madmouse · 25/11/2007 13:05

Hi all

LuckSalem how is it going? Any more contractions?

We went to see close friends last night and picked up all the baby stuff they are loaning us, so we are now surrounded by car seat, moses basket, bath, clothes, baby carrier...suddenly all ready, now all we have to do is wait about 9 weeks for babbit to make his entree .

You should have seen my ankles on friday night after I had to stand on the train for about half an hour before I managed to get a seat. There was barely room to stand and I could not even take off my fleece. I was so miserable I actually cried. The young guy in the seat next to where I was standing kept looking at my bump when he thought I wasn't. I felt like saying 'shall we swap, if I can sit down you can stare as much as you want to'. Why didn't I . DH was quite p*ssed of to hear it.

Babbit has a new trick, all in the line of running out of space I suppose, sticking his bum out of my right side. Would be cute if it hurt less. DH and my friend could both squeeze his little bottom last night!

About to start the last week at work, just like a handful of others on here. Bring it on!!

LuckySalem · 25/11/2007 15:58

It was quite funny last night almost as soon as I had spoken to the MW they dissapeared. DP kept his phone on him (which he's not meant to do) just in case. I ended up txting him saying not to worry.

MM - Sorry to hear about the train. You really should have said something, idiot!
