@MrsTD88 I think I've had a bad tummy before I take my pregnacare so I don't think it's that for me. But definitely something to check.

I'm feeling really anxious now. I can't believe it's tomorrow. I've feel like I've been waiting so long, I can't really believe it. I really really hope baby is all ok ❤️

@Pancakes7 good luck ❤️❤️❤️

vitaminb33 · 12/04/2021 22:03

@Pancakes7 good luck tomorrow everything will be great ❤️ and to @lamby12 too! I'll be thinking of you both

I'm 11 weeks and still haven't heard anything re:scan, on the one hand I'm a little worried that my toddler has been know to pick up post and hide it very imaginatively, but I also don't want to ring and ask about a date because if I get the date I'll start worrying about it 😅

Pancakes7 · 13/04/2021 06:53

Thank you @vitaminb33 & @Cafeaulait27

Amazingly I managed to sleep ok. Might take DS to the park this morning to make the day go quicker. As long as it doesn't snow again! lol

Good luck for this morning @lamby12

Good luck @lamby12 xx

ELMcg · 13/04/2021 08:50

@lamby12 and @pancakes7 hope all goes well for you both today! Hopefully some lovely scan pictures on their way!

I am back to work today after a long weekend off where my sickness decided to really kick in. I'm now sitting at my desk panicking I'm going to be sick on a teams call this morning as my morning sickness kicks in around now everyday 😭

Pancakes7 · 13/04/2021 09:18

Thank you @ELMcg , @marplemead & @Smurf123

I felt so sick I couldn't eat this morning but I'm now making pancakes 😂

Hope all went okay for you this morning @lamby12 (think I read it was this morning!) I had a bad stomach the odd time, and looked it up a few times as I’m so paranoid about everything. Apparently it can be to do with an increase in progesterone in early pregnancy? Just keep an eye on it, drink lots of water, and a BRAT diet is a good idea as you’ve said 😊

Good luck this afternoon @Pancakes7 ! Sending you a virtual hand hold 😊 have you got a few things to keep you busy until then?

lamby12 · 13/04/2021 10:07

Oh no @ELMcg I know the feeling. Are you at a desk at home or in an office? If at home, just feign technical difficulties! I've done that...

I had my scan this morning and it was perfect, I'm so relieved. They saw the heartbeat immediately and measuring spot on for dates. Now has arms and legs, crazy isn't it?! They said as this was the second minor bleed and everything is fine not to panic and go back if it happens again, only if it is more than last time. Apparently the bigger baby gets the more a bit of spotting is no issue. They couldn't see any reason for the bleed so suggested it's cervical or breakthrough bleeding and shouldn't happed after 12 weeks.

I know I will still worry if it happens again but it's reassuring and I feel like 12 weeks isn't too far off now (I'm 8+4)

Now to try and work from home and nurse my very very dicky tummy with water and bananas.... X

marplemead · 13/04/2021 10:19

Oh, I'm so happy for you @lamby12! ❤️ What a relief! I think when you've had a loss, you are programmed to think the worst with bleeding. 🤞🏼there won't be anymore. Do you have a date for your 12wk scan?

vitaminb33 · 13/04/2021 10:24

Oh that's brilliant news @lamby12! 🎉🎊

Pancakes7 · 13/04/2021 10:32

@lamby12 Wonderful news! I'm so glad all is ok!

@PumpkinEverything No nothing on this morning. I've got my Mum here though and DS. Feeling very nauseous with anxiety atm. Just eaten some tic tacs to try and feel better. Hoping the time goes quickly, but also feeling so anxious about going.

@lamby12 yay great news this morning ♥️
@Pancakes7 good luck for your scan. Is this your dating scan? Xx

Cafeaulait27 · 13/04/2021 11:28

So pleased for you @lamby12 !!! ❤️

Cafeaulait27 · 13/04/2021 11:30

Just got my letter for the NHS combined screening, I already knew it was low chance, and my bloods came back as below:

bHCG 0.56 MoM
PAPPA 1.15 MoM

Can any of you gals shed some light on this? I vaguely know that HCG should not be high and PAPPA should not be low, but wondered if anyone knows what the thresholds are?

I just love looking at and trying to understand all the data 🤓

Pancakes7 · 13/04/2021 11:35

@Firevie Yes it's my dating scan. So nervous. Wish DH could come with me.

So pleased for you @lamby12 brilliant news!

Cafeaulait27 · 13/04/2021 12:26

@imisscoffee to answer your gender question for the SAFE test - I enquired and they said they no longer offer this when it’s done through the NHS for ethical reasons, they decided it should be medical only. Which is fine for us really as we’re primarily doing it to check for trisomies 😊

We’ve got a reassurance scan booked for 16 weeks privately which can also tell us the sex so hopefully we will find out then, if not we’ll just wait for 20 weeks xxx

lamby12 · 13/04/2021 12:28

Thanks everyone.

Good luck @Pancakes7 can DH not attend due to rules or just not available today?

Hospitals round us have relaxed the rules now, didn't stop them challenging DH when we walked in the main entrance but when we said it was a scan they knew it was allowed.

I'm going to give it til the end of the week then I'll chase up my dating scan if I haven't heard anything. I should hear from the midwife by the end of this week as then it's been 2 weeks since self referral. It's a bit complicated because I've chosen to have baby at a hospital that isn't our postcode. It's actually closer as we're just on the boundary and much nicer than our automatic one which has some issues. However I have to go to our postcode one for EPU. You still go under the community midwives in your area, but have dating scan and subsequent scans at the different hospital, where you'll give birth. I did this when I had my daughter and it was complicated to get referred back then... even though lots of people in our area do this.

MrsTD88 · 13/04/2021 12:48

@lamby12 great news about your scan, what a relief! I am under a cross boundary team too, the hospital in my Local Authority is a good 40 minutes away on a quiet day while the one I have chosen 10 minutes away is in a different LA. Such a pain when dealing with midwives from different LA but so worth it to go to the hospital I prefer. They were great when I had my daughter and so far so good with the consultant led care this time round. I don't think some women realise you can choose to give birth out with your Local Authority but it was one of the first questions I was asked about booking.

Pancakes7 · 13/04/2021 13:18

@lamby12 not allowed to because of covid. He's coming and sitting in the car though. He wants to be close by just incase. I'm picking him up from work on my way.

vitaminb33 · 13/04/2021 13:25

@Pancakes7 if he's with you it might be worth asking the midwife again if he can come in when you're there and explaining why you would like him there - during the last wave my hospital had strict policies saying no partners but it turned out they were willing to be flexible if you were persistent (unfortunately I only found this out later)
