@MrsTD88 sorry you said 26th May not in week 26...duh! Not long to go then! I can’t wait for my 20week scan next Thursday xxx

MrsTD88 · 17/05/2021 19:42

@Firevie aww you'll be the day after me then. Mine is at 7pm! I'll be knackered by the time I come out 🤣🤣 what time is yours? Xx

Firevie · 18/05/2021 06:22

@MrsTD88 yay scan buddy. Mine is at 9am and I’ll be exactly 20weeks ❤️ Xxx

Firevie · 18/05/2021 16:01

Just booked my covid vaccine - it’s next week after my 20week scan on Thursday. Has anyone else got their covid vaccine booked in the UK? I’ll have my whooping cough vaccine a week after the 1st covid vaccine xxx

MrsTD88 · 18/05/2021 16:04

@Firevie so jealous, can't wait to have mine! I'm in Scotland and in the 30-39 bracket so should receive a letter soon 🤞🏻

I had my whooping cough vaccine yesterday after my scan. My arm is still sore to lift but hopefully will be fine tomorrow. Other than I feel OK X

Firevie · 18/05/2021 16:14

@MrsTD88 yay! Hope you get your letter soon! I was going to get whooping at my 20w scan but as covid vaccinations are like hot potatoes thought I’d get that first and I’ll just do my whooping cough one a week later xxx

Cafeaulait27 · 18/05/2021 19:15

@Firevie congratulations on getting your covid vaccine booked! I’m excited to get mine, I’m 33 so hopefully not too far off.

I’m getting so anxious about my 20 week scan, haven’t felt movement in a few days (I don’t think) I’ve felt it on and off but whenever I have a few days not feeling anything I freak out that something has happened to the baby 😔

Firevie · 18/05/2021 23:50

@Cafeaulait27 thanks. Hope you get your vaccine booked in soon. I haven’t yet felt movement but since I’m a FTM I was told that’s fine and I’d probably feel it 20-25weejs. It’s fine though because we saw the baby moving lots at my scan last Thursday. When is your 20week scan? Remind me is this your first baby? Xxx

Cafeaulait27 · 19/05/2021 06:40

@Firevie thank you! Yeah FTM, my 20 week scan is next Friday. Really hope it goes well! On both my 12 and 16 week scan baby didn’t move that much (which I worry about from time to time) however despite my anterior placenta I started feeling internal movements at 15 weeks. I felt it maybe once a day for about 3 days, then felt nothing for a few days which terrified me, but then a had my 16 week appointment and scan and felt better.

I felt a couple of kicks on the outside (I happened to have my hand on my belly) at 17 weeks I think, that was amazing. But then I go days with nothing and it’s so scary I convince myself something bad has happened. Last night after about 4 days not feeling anything I felt kicks again! I tend to have my hand in my belly all evening these days just in case 😂

It is amazing when it happens, but due to my pregnancy anxiety when I have days and days of nothing I sort of wish I hadn’t felt anything yet as going from feeling things to not is scary.

I try to tell myself movement isn’t regular or frequent at this stage and with my anterior placenta but once I get into a state it’s difficult to get out 😔 roll on the 20 week scan! Xx

Firevie · 19/05/2021 07:13

@Cafeaulait27 I’m sure it will be fine and you don’t have long to wait until your 20week scan. I’m anxious to feel first movements and haven’t yet. I know everything is ok from my 18weeks scan but you know what it’s like with the head. Just goes off in diff directions
Xxx

Cafeaulait27 · 19/05/2021 07:24

@Firevie definitely, even if I had daily scans I would still find something to worry and obsess about! Xx

Smurf123 · 19/05/2021 07:54

@Cafeaulait27 I phoned maternity unit at 24 weeks as I only felt a few small movements the whole day (I only started feeling any at 23 weeks!) the midwife was very dismissive and said at that stage they were happy if I had felt flying even 1 the whole day. And they hadn't been worried I hadn't felt anything before 23 weeks with the anterior placenta either.
I'm lying on bed trying to feel baby now and she is very quiet .... Probably because I'm panicking over the midwife appt I have this morning. The only place they could do it is the hospital I had my 2 mmc and erpcs done at which I haven't been back to since (and had hoped not to go back to!) I still can't understand why I couldn't just go to the hospital closest to me which is also the one the rest of my maternity care is in and I will be giving birth in!

MrsTD88 · 19/05/2021 13:39

@Smurf123 that is so stressful, sorry you have to go back there. Hope your appointment went well. X

Pancakes7 · 19/05/2021 14:51

@Smurf123 A tip I was told when I was further on last time with DS was drink an iced drink and it'll wake up baby and should help get a wiggle. But if you haven't felt much it could just be early days. X

Thanks @MrsTD88 all went grand. Got to listen to heartbeat.. Measuring well on the growth chart atm from midwife measurements. I'm back with the consultant on Tuesday for another growth scan too. Baby's lying diagonally across they think and apparently taking up every bit of space already 😂 I just hope it continues this way.. With ds I was booked in for cs at 39 weeks as he was going to be such a big baby.. Only for him to stop growing and fall to the bottom of the growth chart when I was then induced at 37 weeks because of it he ended up being 2nd centile.. Fingers crossed this wee one keeps growing well
Hope everyone is well

Bellabubble · 19/05/2021 17:24

@MrsTD88 sorry - I’m late to the party with responding to things I read lol! I need to go back for my anomaly scan too! They had no concerns but need to see some other angles..but I have to wait for a phone call or letter. It’s been a week so far with nothing!

I have a funny anecdote you guys may appreciate! The parents at my school were told last week (my maternity cover job is being advertised, and also - I can’t hide it now at 21 weeks lol!) I work in year 1/2. Loads of the parents have had the “how did the baby get in her tummy?” question - but the funniest was the group of children that flat out refused to believe I was pregnant because I didn’t have a big bump (it is definitely there and very definitely a baby bump - but I wear a big school fleece as I am always cold!) I got hot today so ended up in just my cardi and t-shirt - and omg - the children would not stop touching my belly, or trying to “hear” the baby by oressing their wars to my tummy! I am very “touched” out today - if that is even a word lol..so even children like to touch bumps it would seem 😂

Firevie · 19/05/2021 18:20

@Smurf123 glad all went well yay!
@Bellabubble yay to the cute kids touching your belly! 21weeks wow! I feel like this week is going really slowly...20week scan on Thursday next week. It’s taking forever haha though I did have a scan last Thursday and measurements, movements and heartbeat of my baby boy were perfect 🥰 but I could do with a scan every week seriously!
How’s your itchiness? I think it was you who said your body is itchy?
Also, how often do you guys get your bloods done? Is it just at your booking appointment and at 28weeks?
And anyone here who has had their first covid jab? Xxx

Bellabubble · 19/05/2021 18:44

@Firevie it was me that was really itchy yes a it was deiving me insane!! I have been using a burts bee cream called mamma bee, and it has calmed right down thankfully 😂 I looked like I had fleas with all the scratching I was doing!

I had bloods at my booking appointment and they’ll be done again on my 25 and 28week appointments apparently! I don’t know if it is the same for everyone but in my area we have to take a urine sample to every midwife appointment!

I have just had my text to say I can have my first jab - but I’m not sure if I’ll get it yet..I just have a gut feeling for me that says I should wait - but I also don’t know if that is due to my 2 losses in a row last year! I think I have been lucky (I have worked in school the whole time so have come into contact etc with lots of people - but it has meant I have got into a routine of very regular hand washing/clothes washing at the end of the day) and come summer holidays I’ll be getting the house ready for bubba’s arrival..so probably won’t go out that much - well I definitely won’t if I don’t go for the jab yet.

Firevie · 19/05/2021 19:16

@Bellabubble ah I’m glad your itching has slowed down! I’ve been using pure coconut oil which is doing the trick.
I had my bloods done last week, bile acids this week and I will get another one done in 4weeks time. Not because midwife or GP have been saying anything but it gives me piece of mind. Urine has been checked at every private scan I’ve been to.
Re jab- I think it’s a v personal choice. I’m also on edge about it but my private doctor is suggesting I have it along with my midwife and GP. I think getting covid later on will be more risky so I think I will get it. I’m booked in for next Thursday anyway xxx

Garman · 19/05/2021 20:44

Here bloods are done at 12 week, 20 week and more frequently later on but I can't remember.

I just got called today about getting covid vaccination, if I wasn't pregnant I don't think I'd get it but I know it can be very serious for women and babies if they catch it in the third trimester, and as I have kids in school and creche and my dh works seeing many people every day there's no way I can avoid people/bugs easily.

MrsTD88 · 19/05/2021 21:02

Glad your appointment went well @Smurf123 so good you got to hear baby's heartbeat. That's good they are keeping an eye on things for last time, got my fingers crossed for you.

@Bellabubble hopefully you hear back from them real soon, that's so unfair you have to wait with no date. They just asked me to wait and handed me a letter with a new date, it's at 7pm though! Must be a backlog with this baby boom we're apparently in. Aww that's so sweet! My little one is obsessed with baby already and can apparently "hear" her moving about 🤣

Firevie · 19/05/2021 21:15

@Garman I have read similar that it’s quite serious in third trimester. I think if my due date was soonish I wouldn’t bother but it’s still a while until Oct. when is your date for your first jab? I got my 2nd date already but it’s a 12week wait so I’ll try and get it sooner given I’m pregnant and I’d rather have the second one not later on in the third trimester xxx

Garman · 19/05/2021 21:30

The midwife just rang me today to see if I wanted it so I'll get an appointment in the next week or two.

Firevie · 19/05/2021 21:46

@Garman thanks for sharing! How many weeks are you?
I’ll be 20weeks when I get my first jab xx

Garman · 19/05/2021 22:01

I'm 16+3, eligible here from 14 weeks which just came in last week.
