@Firevie I'm 16 weeks + 3 but this is my second so sometimes you feel baby sooner. It does vary for each person. You might feel movement in the next few weeks though. It's amazing. ❤️

@Pancakes7 ah yes I had read that first time moms feel it later! I’m just so impatient. Cannot wait to feel my baby ❤️❤️❤️

Pancakes7 · 07/05/2021 14:17

@Firevie I can't remember when I felt movements last time. I wish I'd kept a diary. Maybe 17/18 weeks. But no one could feel from the outside for a few weeks.

@marplemead it's weights and cardio I can't go back to, yoga would be fine but that's not what I want 😄 I think I'll revisit it in a few weeks and see if I can get better clarification.

marplemead · 07/05/2021 15:57

@Pancakes7 Ah, baby movement 💙.
I suspect I might have an anterior placenta again, as all the scans I've had have shown a very active baby, and I can't feel anything yet.

@Garman 🤞🏼they clear you for exercise next time!

@Firevie I'm 17wks today. This is around the time I had my gender scan with DD, and it was such a lovely experience. My MIL came too, and was quite emotional, because she had never been to a scan before as they didn't have them in her day. We are have a bet going for this scan. DH and DD think it's a girl and I'm convinced it's a boy. Whoever loses has to buy the winner(s) ice cream afterwards.

imisscoffee · 07/05/2021 18:59

Hi all, hope everyone is well. I'm 17 weeks today, so as of tomorrow I'll have gone further in this pregnancy than I did with Frank, as I was induced bang on 17 weeks. And tomorrow is his due date so bit of a headfuck all round. Was hoping to have a day out tomorrow for distraction but it's torrential rain forecast for miles around here...

vitaminb33 · 08/05/2021 12:19

Oh @imisscoffee I'm so sorry, Frank's due date must be a really hard milestone. Definitely far too much to have both his due date and 17 weeks at once - I hope today goes as best as it can ❤️

marplemead · 08/05/2021 15:00

I'm sorry @imisscoffee. What a bittersweet day. Hope you are okay, and have managed to find some distraction despite the weather ❤️

lamby12 · 08/05/2021 18:23

Sorry @imisscoffee what a difficult time it must be emotionally. I hope you managed to find distraction if that's what was needed or otherwise got through the day.

Has anyone else been having funny dos at any points?! I'm 12 weeks now and the sickness has mainly gone but I seem get a nauseas hour in the afternoon and feel a bit shivery and weak too, despite eating. I've just got over a bug so it could be a bit of exhaustion but today and yesterday I've had sort of a funny turn in the afternoon - gone deathly pale, shaky, shivery, felt almost faint and jittery (even if I've eaten) and had to go and lie down. Is this just normal weird pregnancy moments do you think?
I'm fine now apart from tired!

Cafeaulait27 · 08/05/2021 21:11

@lamby12 yes I’ve been feeling weak, dizzy and almost faint from time to time, apparently it’s due to all the blood pumping around your body or something like that, nothing to worry about though. I get it if I’ve done too much or sometimes if I just stand up too quick. I tend to just eat something and rest until I feel better xx

MrsTD88 · 09/05/2021 11:28

@imisscoffee I hope you managed to find some distraction yesterday. Sending you lots of love. X

@Firevie I am 20 weeks tomorrow, still can't quite believe it! My next scan is the Anomaly scan in 8 days.

Hope everyone who has scans coming up is finding ways to pass the time. I have been rubbish at keeping up this week. We were on holiday Monday to Friday which was so nice, great to be away from home! It was my husband's birthday yesterday too so it's been a great week off work. Dreading going back tomorrow but happy for the distraction for the next week.

PumpkinEverything · 10/05/2021 11:54

Hope the day went okay @imisscoffee and you managed to find something to distract yourself with ❤️

@Firevie I’ve been making smoothies for first breakfast for a few weeks now, but love to know what others put in theirs! What all have you been having?

My ‘20 week’ scan is next week 😱 next Tuesday afternoon when I’ll be 19+1. Trying not to let myself worry about it too much just yet and focus on the fact the gender scan was all good and that it won’t be long until we see baby again 😊
She’s the size of a croissant today at 18 weeks. Feeling pretty sad that I don’t have one to eat 😂

How’d the vaccine go yesterday @Smurf123 ?

Firevie · 10/05/2021 12:22

@PumpkinEverything yay to 20week scan! Lol at wanting to have a croissant, I want one now haha
I’ve been putting in spinach, blueberries, raspberries, bananas, kiwis and almond milk in my smoothie but don’t always drink it in the morning. Sometimes I have it in the afternoon but this is the only way to get spinach into me as I don’t like spinach otherwise
Xxx

PumpkinEverything · 10/05/2021 12:26

Yum @Firevie sounds nice and fruity 😊 I’m the same and don’t like spinach either 😂 I bought a bag of frozen spinach ages ago and have still been too scared to add it into my smoothies!

Smurf123 · 10/05/2021 12:38

@PumpkinEverything well I have to say the royal certainly has things running quickly and smoothly. All Pfizer vaccines there too. Touch wood it went fine. I decided to go for it. Read some scary studies about COVID in pregnancy from the south and figured I was happier taking the vaccine to hopefully have some protection from catching COVID.
Other than a sore arm today so far so good. Baby is moving about lots today which is great.

imisscoffee · 10/05/2021 16:59

Thanks everyone. Saturday was quite shitty, it felt like it was hanging over us all day and because the weather was so terrible we couldn't even go anywhere. Escaped to the coast for a few hours yesterday which was nice. Feel so drained today, I think I need another weekend after the emotional overload!

lamby12 · 10/05/2021 19:20

Hi ladies! So I had my 12 week scan today and everything was fine and looking perfect. Such a relief!

I'm so happy but I don't know if it's hormones or just all the anxiety but I've been so up and down since the scan. Over the moon and then suddenly in a foul mood! I think at the back of my mind because I've told a few friends via text this aft I'm also thinking shit I've actually told people now. Does that make any sense?!

Anyway I'm delighted but also feeling a little crazy today.... x

Cafeaulait27 · 11/05/2021 12:49

@lamby12 congratulations so happy for you!! Fantastic news.

Definitely fine to feel all the feels. It’s hormones and adrenaline. After our 12 week scan it took a few days for me to feel normal again... I also caught a cold and felt exhausted, all the worry really took it out of me!

So so pleased for you xx

vitaminb33 · 11/05/2021 13:05

Aw huge congratulations @lamby12! You've had a pretty anxiety inducing time getting here, it's a great milestone! 🎉🎉

For me I think I worked myself up into such a state for the 12 week scan I just couldn't get myself out of it immediately, so I kept focusing on other things to be anxious about for a while, but that improved after about a week 😅

MrsTD88 · 11/05/2021 13:55

Amazing news @lamby12 it's totally normal to feel anxious even after a positive scan. Pregnancy is such a worrying time... 49 weeks of stress and anxiety and then another 18 years after that!

lamby12 · 11/05/2021 15:55

Thanks ladies! This is so true! It's like I had sudden relief and then I redirected all the anxiety at literally anything else, and then back at the pregnancy, just all over the place.

Also I've just bit the bullet and told everyone - couple of friendship WhatsApp groups, told my team in our meeting, my mum took care of all family as she was desperate to get the green light... and that's that. Everyone knows. And it suddenly feels really daunting in case something goes wrong, even though most people share the news at 12 weeks.

I know I didn't have to, and I wanted to share it because I know if I held onto it for too long it would feel harder. It's just like that massive shock of nobody knows to everyone knows! Feels real all of a sudden. X

marplemead · 12/05/2021 11:31

Congratulations @lamby12! Lovely news ❤️

I have my private gender scan this afternoon. I've been caught up in DD's excitement, so think this is the first scan where I don't feel nervous. I'm 17+5 and think I felt some movement last night, which was really nice.

I've picked up some more maternity clothes, as my old stuff is too snug now. I want to enjoy this pregnancy, and having nice clothes to wear really makes a difference to how I feel.

MrsTD88 · 12/05/2021 12:54

@marplemead good luck for your scan, excited to find out!

I agree, I bought some maternity stuff recently as I hate feeling restricted. I can feel myself getting bigger now, glad the warmer weather is coming in so we can wear nice floaty clothes 😀

Garman · 12/05/2021 13:38

Good luck for your scan @marplemead 🙂

I'm still in my normal clothes luckily, don't want to dig out my maternity jeans yet because then my friends will definitely guess 😂 Haven't told anyone yet other than my dm, just me, dh and her know and keeping it that way for a while yet. We reckon I'll get away with it for another month at least, bringing me to nearly 20 weeks, the joys of never really getting a proper bump!

Not feeling so sick any more thankfully, it was constant so I'm glad it has eased a bit. Just sleeping terribly now. In that no mans land now where I feel pretty okay, look normal, rare tiny movements, doesn't seem real again!

Cafeaulait27 · 12/05/2021 13:43

I’ve been in maternity clothes for a few weeks now (17 weeks today) I have some skinny jeans, a few tops, leggings and midi dresses (but too cold to wear at the mo).

I really wanted to look nice in pregnancy but feel like I’m struggling! My usual ‘uniform’ is high waisted jeans with tops tucked in, so I’m finding it quite hard as all maternity jeans require a long top and my waist has disappeared.

I feel comfortable but a bit frumpy 😕 tips welcome!! Xx
