@Pancakes7 best of luck today!

marplemead · 29/04/2021 10:58

Good luck @Pancakes7!

vitaminb33 · 29/04/2021 11:01

Good luck @Pancakes7 and @IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay, the anxiety is horrible but everything will be great ❤️

It's so great to hear everything's going well @Cafeaulait27!

Pancakes7 · 29/04/2021 11:24

Thank you everyone. The dentist was a good distraction. I'm just having an early lunch and drinking lots ready for scan ❤️

IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay · 29/04/2021 11:52

Thanks so much for all the reassurance

@Pancakes7 Good luck for your own scan and I'm defo using the term scanxiety from now on!
@Bellabubble Thank you, that is very reassuring to hear!

Kept myself distracted this morning with some rock painting but felt sick going into scan.

Despite a flashback inducing trip to empty my bladder (was too full) mid-scan, all was well. Wriggly little baby with normal measurements etc across the board. NT 1.8mm so happy with that.

MrsTD88 · 29/04/2021 12:40

@IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay amazing news so glad all went well. My NT measurement was 1.8 too! My results all came back v low risk X

Cafeaulait27 · 29/04/2021 13:23

@IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay congratulations so glad it went well!

I found with mine I was oddly calm until we arrived at the clinic, then I just started sobbing with fear but luckily it was all ok. 12 week scan anxiety is the worst! You must feel so relieved xx

Cafeaulait27 · 29/04/2021 13:23

Good luck @Pancakes7!!

Cafeaulait27 · 29/04/2021 13:24

@Pancakes7 is it your 20 week scan? Xx

NatJ24 · 29/04/2021 13:32

Good Luck @Pancakes7

Congratulations to everyone else who have had their scans lately 💜

PumpkinEverything · 29/04/2021 13:47

So glad all went well for you @IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay 😁😁

Can’t wait to hear back from @Pancakes7 with hopefully a gender hint 🤞🏻

Firevie · 29/04/2021 13:48

@IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay yay congrats on your great scan. Must feel so relieved now! Enjoy now until the next scanxiety 😂 do you have any more scans between now and your 20week scan? Xx

Pancakes7 · 29/04/2021 14:15

Hi All, Baby is healthy and growing well. I saw bendy arms and legs, face, it was amazing! Placenta looks good and is posterior. Woman said baby looks well fed and wriggly so placenta must be working well. Heard babies heartbeat which was wonderful. Also I know the gender! It's a boy 💙 So DS would be happy if he could understand lol. I am so so happy baby is healthy!!! Such a big relief. I am a bit emotional that I'll never have a daughter. I know I'm being silly and I'm so happy baby is healthy. I just need to get used to the idea.

I'm 15 weeks +2 she measured me as 15 weeks +3 ! So I am feeling confident about baby now. I think baby will be at least 8lbs like DS. (My results showed papp-a which can be a sign the placenta won't work as well. Baby could be born early or small)

@Pancakes7 yay so so pleased for you! And it’s a boy ❤️ Just like my baby 😍 you must be so relieved now. I think your next scan is same as me on 13th May, right? 2 weeks today yay cannot wait to hear my baby’s heartbeat and see him again all grown ❤️❤️❤️ Xxx

IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay · 29/04/2021 14:21

Thanks all for the congratulations - feel like weight is off (for the moment!)

@Pancakes7 Great news and lovely pic 😍 If this one is another boy, I'll have the same pang as you about never having a daughter to be honest, so you're not alone!

@Firevie Nope, no scans currently booked until my 20 week - which is actually going to be at 20+5 due to busy department so wait is going to be agonising 😫 Unless we do go for NIPT. If we don't, I feel a private scan coming on...

Firevie · 29/04/2021 14:24

@IJustPeedInTheMaintenanceBay ah ok. So today was your 12week scan right? I can imagine the 8week wait will be long. Totally get it just trying to wait 3 weeks is already hard. See how you feel in a couple of weeks and if you’d like to go for a private scan in between. Xxx

PumpkinEverything · 29/04/2021 14:25

Ah fantastic @Pancakes7 I’m so glad all went well for you and so pleased you got to find out the gender early 😁😁 I’m so relieved for you that everything is going well after your worries too!

Garman · 29/04/2021 14:27

Congrats @Pancakes7, I have two boys and it's great, if that helps 😊

Pancakes7 · 29/04/2021 14:28

@Firevie Yes 13th May is our gender scan 😂 oh well we can find out again lol

Cafeaulait27 · 29/04/2021 16:07

Congrats @Pancakes7 💙

Smurf123 · 30/04/2021 10:47

Great news @Pancakes7

I've been pretty quiet on here. Currently 26+1. Consultant appt on Tuesday shows baby growing and doing fine on 50th centile currently, baby seems to have some quiet days each week which panics me every time have phoned triage twice but they just say 1 movement a day is fine. Though I think that changes from 26 weeks? Yesterday and so far today I'm feeling a good bit which is reassuring..

Here in NI vaccines have just opened up for the 30-34 age bracket I'm now really torn do I book it or not? I don't know what to do. I'll be working from home from 28 weeks so will be minimising all contact anyway exception being dropping 3 year old to creche. My husband is now booked in for his and my mum dad and brother will all get their second next week (youngest brother and ds are obviously too young to be eligible) and I won't be seeing anyone else really other than hospital appts. I didn't think I would have the decision to make up be honest

Smurf123 · 30/04/2021 10:48

I absolutely want the vaccine the second baby is born in August. I just don't know whether to get out while still pregnant

PumpkinEverything · 30/04/2021 11:13

I’m the same boat @Smurf123 as I’m 31 and now all my friends are booking in for it. I asked the midwife on Monday about it and she said that they hadn’t been told we could have it yet and for me to keep check online. Even though I know it has said we can have it for two weeks? Not sure what to do as I think there are only certain ones we should have while pregnant so I don’t know whether we can book into a vaccine centre. I am strongly leaning towards getting it with everything opening back up. I’m like you and working from home so feel safe that way, but don’t want to lock myself up until October and not see friends or family 😔

vitaminb33 · 30/04/2021 11:25

Congratulations on your little boy @Pancakes7! 🎊 I'm the same, I'd prefer another boy because I wouldn't have to worry about passing on my endometriosis, but they'd definitely be a sadness at never having a daughter at the same time.

@Smurf123 great to hear you're doing well! If I were you I would 100% get the vaccine (the Pfizer or Moderna) the safety trial results look great, there are some promising theories about passing the antibodies to the baby (potentially even more effectively than through breastfeeding), and there are increasing reports of Covid being worse in pregnancy.
