Hellooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!

Panic ye not, Ladies of Boredom Land, for I hath returneth to the landeth of pregnanteth ladeeth.

Pixie - Sorry you had a rubbish night. After the advice given on the feeding thread, hopefully you'll have a much better night.

Jarm - glad you enjoyed your bootfare. I'm sure you must be hooked coz i think that's at least the third you've been to in a row isn't it? Oh and get eating girlie!! Crisps aren't going to do you any favours!

Choudru - WHERE ARE YOU?!!!! I reckon she's in the throws of having her baby. She only just joined the realms of the Overdue Club didn't she?! Good luck if you're "in business"!!

Iris - thanx for the tip re the magic pants!!! Not sure mine will fit me straight away anyway, but hopefully by the time they fit my womb/bladder/pelvic floor will be semi-firmly back in place. How is Elliot getting on with being in the outside world and how are you coping with the little man?

Mrs J - good luck with the pineapples and RL tea!

Fiona - your active birthing class sounds fabulous!!

Biffabangs - Glad i made you smile I aim to please!

Muckers - LOL @ you being "stuck" with mini aero bars. Damn!! Poor you, how tragic! I think that happened to me once too as it goes. Thought i'd be all neighbourly and friendly but no feckin' trick or treaters knocked on my door! I haven't bothered since!

Silk - what is it with everyone being bored today? Is it because we're just sitting here waiting and waiting for our babies to turn up? (or pop out as the case may be?). Enjoy your second free hypnobirthing class.

LOM - I agree this thread has been a tad quiet of late, much to my dismay! Sorry you had to go the hospital again. Tough luck on the no nookie side of things too! They'll be telling us we're not allowed to breathe next!!

Lady - enjoy your holiday! Cant say i've felt the sore stretchmark thing (yet). Hope it doesn't make you too uncomfortable whilst your away.

Well, i have been a semi-busy bee today. I had to go shopping, catch up with Stenders (ooo drama!) and then i made lasagne for dinner. I've also made those Nigella Instant Mousses too but we've not had them yet. I'm gonna wait for my dinner to go down a bit first before i attempt a mega rich pud like that. Only thing is, the recips says 250g of dark choc, but i was lost in la-la land and only picked up a 150g bar so had to make do with that. Hope it doesn't make too much of a difference!

Evening ladies,

Just clocking in for duty to let you know I AM STILL PREGNAAAANT!

Went in for monitoring today though because had increased discharge (sorry if TMI) but apparently it wasn't anything to do with waters breaking. But it is apparently a sign that body is gearing up for labour so that's all jolly good.

Did learn a couple of things though:

  1. the MWs at the delivery suite were absolutely lovely - very smiley and friendly and reassuring Hope they are all like that.
  2. If my labour begins with waters breaking and my contractions don't start straight after, they will induce me without waiting 24/48 hours because of Strep B and risk of infection to baby.

So no baby for me today. I am hoping she arrives very soon though because I literally cannot stand up/walk around for longer than 4-5 mins without my back and pelvis killing me.

Right, now to catch up on the thread...

RGPargy · 04/11/2007 22:01

Oh THERE you are!!! Glad you're still in one piece, although sorry that you're still up the duff!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 04/11/2007 22:12

Choc - Not sure when we get the next jab. I'll have to check.

RG your choccie mousse sounds yummy. I bought Nigella from amazon ( half price folks) in the hope DH may be tempted to try something from it. MMM we live in hope

Oh Choudru !!! The things you do for one of my cakes. I'm going to e-mail about meeting next week. It sounds like things are on the way though which is brilliant news.
I was in the delivery suite at the hosp yesterday and as we went down the corridor I was looking on the doors to see if I could see yur name.
I'm glad you feel happy about and liked the staff. That must be reassuring.
Sounds like you are staying positive

My Mil told me to day that DH was 3 weeks late. Being as I was 2 weeks overdue there's probably a good chance that my Lo will be too. However, unless there's evidence that there is a prob with the baby I absolutely refuse to be induced. I know you can be monitored etc and I'm happy that I'm aware of potential probs of going over dates but could anyone help me out and let me know what options are available. I feel I can do all the foot stamping I like but unless I'm informed and have the right the appropriate language things may be difficult. Does anyone have any info or experience that may help ?

choudru · 04/11/2007 22:16

JARM - I thought piles came due to straining during childbirth? Didn't realise you could get them before birth. Another indignity for us poor mothers to worry about...

Iris - stop rushing around. And by the sound of what you're saying - best to stick to larger pants to start with rather than squeezing into smaller sizes too quickly. Looks like it will be a while before I'll be using the size 10 ones...

Little - sorry to hear you have to restrain yourself from ravishing DH. I do have admiration for anyone with any libido at this stage because I cannot think of anything I would like to do less right now. It all just seems like too much like hard work!

RG - fancy not picking up enough chocolate. Shame on you. Go and face the corner and think about what you've done.

Choc, FCH and anyone else in the overdue club - this club is rubbish.

choudru · 04/11/2007 22:22

RG - I'm glad that you're glad that I'm still in one piece. Although I didn't realise that giving birth might actually split me into more than one piece!

Ouch!

LOM - you provide the cake and I'll provide the grumpiness...

JARM · 04/11/2007 22:27

TBH i think the piles thing is because I have been a little constipated these past few weeks but they are getting better!!

Still cant face eating.... wish i could, maybe i need to skip meals completely and snack all day. Im in a cycle now where I dont eat because I feel sick, and feel sick because I havent eaten.... its like the first 3 months of pg all over again!

Im sick of feet under my ribs now though.... its really starting to hurt, and like you Choudru - 5 mins max before im in agony.

Cant believe that ive still got 3 weeks til EDD so could be anything up to 5 weeks yet i guess! ARGHHHHHHHHHHH

Oh a PIL have decided to visit - on 19th december for long weekend (prob going home 23rd) HELLOOOOOO its just before xmas - I DONT WANT YOU HERE! But hey ho, my dad has offered to put them up so they arent disturbed by crying baby all night, and we only have the sofa bed downstairs, where as dad has proper bedrooms and it also means i havent got to "entertain" 24/7!

choudru · 04/11/2007 22:28

LOM - by the way, as far as I have been informed, you are offered induction if you go past 41 weeks, but you can refuse it and ask to see if labour starts spontaneously. You will probably just have to go in for regular check ups in the days after 41 weeks.

Loopy's probably got some good info.

RGPargy · 04/11/2007 22:29

LOM - Is going overdue genetic? DS was 3 weeks early so i'm relying on this one to be early too!! I cant imagine me being 39+ weeks! I'm hoping she'll be out by next weekend.

Choudru - It's great that you are happy with the hospital and the staff. Must be very reassuring for you.

I've just eaten the mousse and it was rather lush, but so soooooo rich, even with just about half the chocolate! Nigella says to buy at least 70% cocoa solids, which i did, but that makes it very very rich. Think i might try a white chocolate version next time. I could only eat half of the mousse so have shoved it back in the fridge to finish off tomorrow.

Right, i'm off to bed now. N'night ladies, rest well!

xx

OP posts:
choudru · 04/11/2007 22:33

JARM - that is very sweet of your dad

What possesses some people to choose to visit at such times I do not know.

Sorry to hear about your sickness. At least the difference now is that you know the end is in sight, rather than 1st trimester sickness when it feels like you'll be pregnant for the rest of your life.

I'm off to bed now.

Please someone have a baby overnight!

littleoldme · 04/11/2007 22:40

RG - Not sure if it is down to genetics or not. If it is I want to be prepared. Aiki gave me some good links that i need to sift through. The Nice guidelines say you can be monitored twice weekly but if you go more than 4 days over they 'strongly recommend induction'.

Choudru - Ta for the advice. Will def bring cake. Coffee and walnut or lemon drizzle ? - the choice is yours

Jarm - What is going through your PILs' heads??? Your dad sounds like he's being a star though.

Goodnight one and all

JARM · 04/11/2007 22:49

my PIL are a law unto themselves.... honestly. No point arguing with them though, gets us nowhere!

My dad is ace, i really cannot fault my dad in the slightest. He helps us out so much with everything. I LOVE HIM! Just wish I could afford to repay everything he has done for us in some way - maybe when i win the lottery I can treat him to that safari in Africa he has always wanted to go on and buy him a house near us by the sea as he keeps saying he wants to retire here! (My plan is to buy a huge house for my lot and then get dad his own little grandad annexe on the grounds!)

silkcushion · 04/11/2007 22:54

Still here. Still miserable (and I'm not even overdue yet sorry)

DH is in trouble - he hasn't written a presentation over the weekend for work tomorrow cos I'd convinced him we'd be having a baby and he wouldn't be in work. OH dear!!! Baby silk needs to get out now or daddy is in the sh*t tomorrow. Think I can hear evil giggles coming from my tummy (you know how naughty children can be)

LK2boyzma · 04/11/2007 23:01

Hello all,

Am just sitting here keeping DH company whilst he irons our loads and loads of laundry thats been piling up. I then got up to strecth because I was feeling a bit tired, he innocently asked if it was possible for me to go into labour without knowing?(shock)(hmm)
He appears to have completely forgotten what we went through when I had our DS.

thelady- I do get painful strectmarks every now, I always put my pregnacare cream and the pain kinda goes away BUT I am not sure if the stretchmarks go away too.
Hope you have a lovely holidays,

chou- Labour vibes to you, it could be happening sooner

jarm: Aren't you luck with all that support from your dad. Hope your DH gets back to self soon

Good nite all

sparklygothkat · 04/11/2007 23:20

hi all, we had a firework party tonight and Callum slept through the whole thing (including DH's 1500 shot cake) I am not looking forward to clearing up the all the spend shots tomorrow. But we had fun

Callum is starting to be sick slighty after the topups so we think he is now getting too much milk, so we are going to reduce the amounts we are topping up and see how we go. If we can get it down and he is still gaining weight we might be able to say goodbye to the tube

Hope you are all well

JARM · 04/11/2007 23:32

YAY callum

He sounds like he is really doing well mate, WELL DONE YOU for being so persistant too. YOu are an inspiration to us all here xx

sparklygothkat · 04/11/2007 23:38

It did get to a point last week, when I was thinking it would be easier to give him a bottle and stop BF, but then I thought that I had gone through 5 weeks of this and to give up now would be silly, so carried on

JARM · 04/11/2007 23:40

Good girl! Whats the point in giving up now? The hardest part is pretty much over!!!

sparklygothkat · 04/11/2007 23:45

yes, the end is nigh, thank god, I never had this problem with the others, so it was shock to have a baby that couldn't feed well enough, but I was detimine (sp?) to get through this and get him feeding, I had the one wobble last week, but I want to do this, and know it is best for him

Anyway better egt some sleep before Callum wakes for his next feed

Night.. xx

aikigypsy · 05/11/2007 03:44

Hi. Still pregnant here, too, 39+1 or so. I'm also gearing up for the talk with the midwife/doctor about not inducing me at their 2-days-too-early EDD+10, which is their very firm policy. I talked to my cousin about it today and she thinks it's perfectly reasonable to wait until after 42 whole weeks to induce. She's a midwife, but has just been doing plain nursing for the past few years because of one thing and another.

Meanwhile we had a quiet weekend, sort of. I'm getting cramps and am starting to feel like LO doesn't fit very well in there any more. We had a massive storm on Saturday, and I didn't feel like sitting at the computer. Played scrabble with DP twice, lost horribly the second time . Thanks for all the compliments on the costume -- it was mostly DP's doing.

I too have no libido to speak of, just want to take naps all the time. Oh well.

thelady · 05/11/2007 09:16

Jarm: Of course I'm mad . However, this holiday is our first since this time last year, when we did exactly the same thing: 4 nights in a lovely self-catering cottage near Huddersfield. We booked the week before I got my BFP, and it's been about all that's kept us both going this summer!

Google Uppergate Farm if you want to see - but you really do need to book at least 6mo in advance to get a cottage.

fiona76 · 05/11/2007 09:33

Morning all!
I was convinced that I was going into labour last night after hours of cramps coming regularly. I thought I'd better try to sleep and alas I woke this morning and there was no baby!!! How unfair.

Still it motivated me to jump DH so we had a lovely time I'm still quite up for it I think the motivation of bringing on the labour is helping the libedo.

Jarm- your dad sounds devine My dad is brilliant as well. He makes my sister, brother and me all feel like we are daddies favourites.

My mum has recommended a natural remedy to rippen the cervics called 'nature sunshine 5W tablets' you take 1 x3 a day for first week and then increase. You can take them from 36 weeks. Mums a midwife and someone she works with recommended it. Its apparently gentle on you. Worth a try.

silkcushion · 05/11/2007 09:58

welcome to my world fiona!

littleoldme · 05/11/2007 10:39

Silk - Couldn't you convieniently have false alarm to lure DH away from work

LK - Mmmmm - Do you think he may be in for a suprise when the time comes ?

Sparkly - Callum sounds like a little star. How much does he have to weigh before the tube can come out?

Aiki - I hope that you manage to avoid induction if you don't want it. Remember that nothing can be done without your consent. Let us know how you go. BTW One of my friends was telling me how someone she knew went into labour naturally at 42 + 20!!!!! Not sure I'd want to wait that long but it just goes to show.

Thelady - You have yourself a fantastic holiday. I agree it's beautiful up there.

Fiona - Sounds like things are getting going for you. Happy jumping

Well I seem to have been blessed with ridiculous amounts of energy and enthusiasm. I feel like me again and the best I have all through the pg. Weird but there you go. The baby dropping seems to taken the pressure off my bladder which is an immense relief. DH is on tenterhooks, he's sure I'm going to drop any sec. I keep telling hin it'll be ages yet, I'm only 36 plus 4 ! He's being rather sweet though
