RGPargy · 16/11/2007 15:52

Silk - click on "my mumsnet" at teh top of the page, log in and then add photos from there.

Sparkly - I have found reverting back to MN classic is the better option coz i had trouble with the pages too!!

JARM · 16/11/2007 16:26

Hey guys!

Sorry, am at dads til tomorrow so not been online much.

Nowt happening here, much to my dissapointment, but feeling LOADS better than I have all week. Even managed a walk to the co-op and back earlier with the pushchair to hold me up! (15mins each way!)

Had a little nap this afternoon, but other than that not done a lot other than watch the aunty and cousins trek stuff accross the road to the new house - YAY!!!

DH is just doing tea, roast chicken, roast pots and veg - mmmmmmm man im hungry!

Latest cravings - bacon rolls, salt and vinegar crisps and chocolate brownies! Great diet huh!

Hoping in some ways things dont kick off tonight - dad is travelling 200 miles away tonight to pick up some furniture and wont be back til tomorrow afternoon..... I dont want him to miss out! Plus, he is my babysitter for the girls! But we do have my brother and SIL on standby just in case!

Not sure if I said, but according to doctor on Tuesday, baby had unengaged himself, so Im a bit dissapointed.... but to be fair DD2 didnt engage at all until I went into labour so I know it doesnt necessarily mean anything.

See midwife on wednesday when I will be 39+2 so hoping I can ask her to do a sweep on my due date - in fact, might just phone docs on monday and get my appointment booked in nice and early!

Re induction - I was induced with DD1 so been there done that and had a normal birth, so not too worried about being induced again if thats what it takes..... im too impatient now, and to think that the midwives and docs could leave me in this state until the 10th december scares the hell out of me!

38 days to christmas guys - are we ready?!

RGPargy · 16/11/2007 17:28

Silk - i think MN has been having server problems. Hang in there and try again a bit later.

Jarm - Glad you are supervising the moving of lazy cous & co!! Hope you dont have to be induced (nor me!). Sorry to hear that your LO has unengaged. I only hope my LO doesn't follow suit!!

We've decided that we're going to move the small sofa out of the front room tonight and stick the pool in the corner instead. We're just going to fully inflate it ready to be filled. Dont suppose we can put some water in it ready for the birth can we? DP suggested half filling it with cold water and then when it comes to D-Day, just topping up with hot? I'm worried about water stagnation lol.

Takeaway for dinner tonight to make up for my DomGod cooking day yesterday. Yay!!

Hi all

BABY NEWS!

Rebecca Alice was born on Tuesday 13th Nov by emergency C-section (a bit dramatic - will recount details later). Home from hospital yesterday - she is gorgeous and a little star. She was 13 days late and 6 pounds 13.

Congrats to Mrs Jetson = havent had chance to read all the posts, sorry!!!

JARM · 16/11/2007 18:03

YAY CHOC!!!!

Welcome to Rebecca Alice (great name! DD2 is Rebecca Alison!)

Take care and let us know the birth story when you can xxx

littleoldme · 16/11/2007 19:00

Choc - Congratulations [grin Look forward to hearing your story . Hope you are recovering well.

Easy - Glad you are feeling positive about fighting for the birth you want. How did the caht with the chief exec go?

Jarm - Def not ready for Christmas . The 10th of Dec does seem like a long time away. I'll be 42 weeks on the 12th. The prospect of another month is mildly alarming.

Very blummin achey today but I have nearly finished the blind - yes, the same one I started about six weeks ago

ChocolateHobNob - CONGRATULATIONS!!!! (I was going to post earlier regarding your absence but didn't have time ) get yourself onto the PN thread asap it's soooooo quiet!

RGPargy - Great news about the baby engaging at last - you next hon eh?(we need you one the PN thread to update the stats so hurry up .

Sparkly - Callum's photos are lovely (had to laugh at the top one though - he looks really pi$$ed off! lol - though not surprised if he's got a cold poor thing)

Easywriter - I'm so impressed at your strength to go for what you need. Good luck

iris66 · 16/11/2007 19:15

ooooh! congrats to FCH and Mrs Jetson too (DS1 was nearly a Fred )

iris66 · 16/11/2007 19:16

......and special congratulations to Berrybliss your darling LO shares my DDs birthday (she's just turned 19 sniff*)

aikigypsy · 16/11/2007 19:18

Congratulations Choc!

I am still in the nothing-happening club. I think LO has moved down a bit since yesterday, because I felt her little head pressing right into my pubic bone (ow) when I was walking around earlier. I'm sort of hoping not to go into labour tonight, since we're planning to go out to a film and maybe dinner.

Phone just rang. My brother's dog is in at the vet's today to get fixed and there are apparently some complications .

iris66 · 16/11/2007 19:36

Loopy - Good luck to you too!!! Reflexolgy can work just as well if you can't find an acupuncturist btw. IME it's the 3rd session that kicks things off. Have you some caulophyllum & pulsatilla btw to help bring strong contractions? (I found the cauloph brilliant in labour when my contractions faded during delivery)

iris66 · 16/11/2007 19:41

Also meant to add - that I wish I'd had your pool advice when we had DS1 - Dh did a trial run of the pool in our dining room & the carpet still smells slightly nearly 2 yrs on from where the pool leaked because he filled straight with hot water (it's the little things you remember and pass on that make a difference - can I book you in advance as doula/MW(?!)for our next LO btw? )

PeckaRolloverAgain · 16/11/2007 21:40

Jarm! Just lurking on the nov thread and read your DDs name! I am Rebecca Alison!!

mrsjetson · 16/11/2007 22:04

Evening!!! Congrats to you Choc.....

Just in case anyone is interested I have put my LO's story on the birth announcement thread.

LK2boyzma · 16/11/2007 22:18

Hi all,

39 weeks today, YAY. DS was 2 days early so I keep telling myself that its going to be the same this time around too

No texts here either but I now detest school runs because everyone just seems to be asking me the same ? everytime, 'ooh how long to go','bet you can't wait now',and the latest one is ' not long to go, your bump has reaaly dropped'

I am sure they mean well but I do not want this conversation at every school pick up/drop off

RG- Great news on LO being fully engaged! There I was thinking 3/5 was the best I could be, .
I also have an appointment with the midwife when I am +4, I am so hoping this appointment will be hers coming to see LO than for me to go to her!

Choc- CONGRATULATIONS girl, hope you are having a ball with your LO. Looking forward to the details.

RGPargy · 16/11/2007 23:21

Evening all!

Just watched a film called Magicians with the guys in it from Peep Show. Quite a good film!

Iris - yes i really hope it's me next. Now that i deffo know she's engaged i'm practically willing her to come out, especially as the pool is now up and waiting to be filled (cold water first tho, eh Iris? ) I'll do my best to hurry to the PN thread to keep your list updated.

Aiki - hope you enjoyed your film/meal out and i hope your brother's dog gets better really soon!

Mrs J - lovely birth story!! Well done and congrats!

LK - How annoying re the school runs. In a way i'm greatful that i dont see anyone from one day to the next in that respect! Let's hope that your LO will be a little early for you too. I'm praying this one will be early. Every niggle or twinge now has me on tenterhooks!

DP was out in the garden earlier and was looking at the stars. Suddenly he saw a shooting star. Wonder if this was a sign that LO is on her way....

Hi all, spoke to the SCBU nurse again today after Callum was weighed at Breastfeeding clinic and only put on 2oz. She mentioned that the doctor may suggest put him on formula on tuesday when we see him.. why is it the only place I feel ok about BF is at BF clinic? No-one else seems to support my wishes to BF. The HVs at BF clinic are so supportive and helpful, even listening to me rant and rave, and they know how much I want to do this...

JARM · 17/11/2007 01:26

Pecka - great name! Rebecca was because we liked it, and Alison after my mum who died when dd1 was 2 weeks old.

DD1 is Jessica Helen, Jessica because we (I) liked it and Helen as we have LOADS of them in the family!

This one will be Daniel James, Daniel because we like it (see a theme there?!), and James after my very much alive and kicking dad!

RGP - YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE YOURS BEFORE ME! YOU HEAR ME GIRL! AM I SHOUTING LOUD ENOUGH?!!!

SGK - So sorry about Callum mate, I really dont know what to suggest. Has hunker/mears/tiktok got any advice?! I know they will be my first port of call when things go tits up in a week or 2.

Have been watching Children In Need tonight - and BOYZONE are back!!! Tickets for their tour go on sale on monday, and I cant wait!!! Im only 25 so guess they are my era, saw them twice as a teenager and loved every minute - i thought i would go into labour tonight after seeing them on TV tonight!!!

Will be off to bed shortly, just managed to kick the lazy arse cousins back to their new house across the road - we have been pep talking them all night about what they should be doing now they are living "on their own" so to speak to make things easier for their mum. My god, teenagers are bleedin hard work... fingers crossed my girls are easier than them!

Take care all of you, and here's to more babies over the weekend - just not you RGP!

littleoldme · 17/11/2007 03:45

Glad so many of you are into Rebecca. IMHO Rebeccas turn out to be upstanding pillars of the community . They do however get a little irritated at constantly being awake in the small hours Or maybe that's just ones spelled Rebekah

SGK - it does seem ridiculous that they are not being more supportive of your BF Callum. Seems like you have enough battles on your hands without having to take on another
one. I've been doing a bit of hunting round centile charts which take account of exclusively breastfed babies this article was quite helpful and has links to updated charts. Also here is a clearer copy of the page. I suspect this might be info you have already, if not at least you can go in with a bit more ammunition. Good luck.

RG and JARM - now you really must stop squabbling. It's obvious I'm going to have my baby before both of you

Jarm. Empathise re Boyzone. I'd be exactly the same if New Kids on The Block ever got back together.
Sounds like you cousins should be dropped in the jungle with a piece string,a map, a live chicken and absolutely no Ant and Dec. That'd sort them out.
Is it just me or are non of the contestants on 'I'm a Celeb' actually celebs?

LK - No annoying texts for me either. i just get vaguely astonished looks and whispers of ' Oh my God , you're so big.' I'm always happy when people point it out because sometimes I forget

Off back to bed for me. I'll think more carefully before I have a large glass of red and spicy Fahitas for tea. I thought that, and our plans to go to Whitby in the morning might induce labour. Alas

Easywriter · 17/11/2007 03:50

Haven't caught up at all but just wabnted to let everyone know that the saying about "Pregnant 'stroppy' women who write letters get the births that they want" is true.

Having written my letters I gave birth at 11:58pm to Marnie with no problems having laboured and delivered her in water. It was my ideal birth.
She's lovely and a bit of a light weight, only 9lbs 3oz! Even I weighted more than that at birth.

Only a first degree tear!

I'm so happy .
Birth story and photos for stalkers to follow.

Will catch up and congratulate anyone else who's given birth since I last posted tomorrow.

littleoldme · 17/11/2007 03:57

Easy - I am so chuffed for you Congratulations on having your gorgeous little girl > and having her in the way that you wanted.

Loads of love to all of you. XXXXXX
