Hi all!!

14 babies now and 7 of each. Great names BTW!!! Congratulations to you all.

I'm now 39+4 so I think I will have a night like JARM. I've got some chicken out to make a curry and pineapple for afters then a bit of the other to top off the night sounds like just what the pg woman ordered. .

We are still getting LO room sorted trying to sell the double bed to make room for cot etc. DH has made me some shelves for the room to put up photos, books and toys.

I have organised a night out for my EDD so I'm not sitting around waiting to go into labour. Will try to keep busy and not dwell.

Has anyone heard from Chocolate she's getting quite over due now hope you are OK.

Well stay relaxed everyone and have a great day.

aikigypsy · 12/11/2007 13:37

Congratulations Berry!

And Congrats to FCH, too, when you get back on the comptuer!

Sparkly -- thanks for the birth story. I hope Callum is OK.

I'm still getting regular twinges, but not really regular, and not strong enough to be considered real labor. Every time I try to time them they come at 5 minute intervals 3 in a row, then I forget about timing and they peter out. Grr.

Loopy - you're far too domesticated and really put me to shame!! Making slings?? Blimey, can i send you my curtains to take up?!

Jarm - Hope you feel better soon. Make sure you DO sit and do nothing for a bit. Cant have you popping before me, can we!! Enjoy the fajitas etc tho!

LOM - enjoy your trip to the supermarket! I desperately need to go too as it goes. I'm on a painting break now so i'll have to pop up there pretty soon. Oh what an adventurous life we lead!!

LK - Hope you do get your wish of having LO on Friday. That would be really convenient wouldn't it!

Sparkly - Such a worry for you. I really hope you can find out what's going on very soon when you see the consultant.

Fiona - I like the idea of a night out on your EDD. think I might do that too. What do you have planned?

Aiki - Sounds like things are moving. Come on girl - we need a baby a day now!

RG Much to my shame i didn't even make it to the supermarket I have ordered the shopping online instead. I'm feeling far to aggressive to be let out in public without adult supervision.

I keep getting stomach achey feelings all over my bump. Also have back ache and feel quite nauseous. Not worried about it but wondered if anyone else is experiencing similar stuff. Maybe I'm just a freak.

Heard from Choudru this morning. She's being loved and well looked after by her MIL and Dh. Sounds like she's still on a real high.

I want my baby now!!!!!!!

ChocolateHobnob · 12/11/2007 15:39

Hi all - congratulations to FCH and Berry!!!

No baby here . Induction tomorrow. I just haven't posted cos I'm really tired and can't summon up energy or enthusiasm! No baby sniffing yet, just sitting around reading and not sleeping and feeling sorry for myself, so couldn't see the point in posting.

I'm too tired to read through all the posts, but Sparkly, big hugs to Callum, and everyone else good labour vibes to you all!

littleoldme · 12/11/2007 15:43

Hope all goes well tomorrow Choc. You'll be sniffing your gorgeous baby soooooooo soon. Am V

RGPargy · 12/11/2007 15:50

LOM - i still haven't gone yet either lol. I'm going now - HONEST!! I'm also getting tight/achey feelings on my bump and do occassionally feel like i wanna throw up. No back ache here tho, unless i spend too long in one (bad) position, i.e. on the laptop etc. Bless Choudru - she's so lucky!!!

Choc - aww you sound really fed up. Dont worry tho, you'll be sniffing your baby really soon!!! Yay!!!!

LOM- Out for a thai meal with 4 girlfriends is the plan. Can't wait, I'll probably go into labour and still want to make the dinner- huffing and puffing over green thai curry....
I felt sick lots last week but I feel really well and since saturday- loads of energy and really motivated to do stuff.

I just washed my net curtains and cleaned the windows in the bedrooms am I nesting? I hope so!

Choc- still going not- long now though enjoy your last night of quiet.

DH put up some lovely shelves in the nursery so its looking great in there. I've made some baskets with muslins, terry nappies and clothes one for nursery, one for lounge. I'm feeling really organised but still need more stuff to do to keep me from dwelling on when this baby is going to come. Maybe I'll have another cook off tomorrow. Any other ideas?? I'll just veg in front of telly unless I keep busy and that won't help the LO to come.

Minicooper · 12/11/2007 16:55

Fiona - mmm, thai food... sounds a good plan.

Choc, sorry to hear you're still waiting. Hope all goes well tomorrow and its all worth it when you meet your LO.

A girl from my NCT class has just had her LO 12 days early - am very - esp as I saw her in M&S just hours before she went into hosp!

RG - nursery is sounding very organised. Hmm, I really must do something about ours...

Lots of very mild period-type pains and less mild knitting needle up the bum/ fanjo stabbing sensations at the moment. Is this normal?! A sign that things could happen sooner rather than later or just wishful thinking?

JARM · 12/11/2007 17:07

Evening girls.

Well had a bit of a mad tidy and clean earlier - packed and re-packed the hospital bags (and made a list of what I still need to get!) sorted the living room out - put all the girls toys upstairs, swept the floor, mopped the floor (man i hate laminate!) put clean throws on the sofa, load of washing out on the line etc etc etc

Then i went to bed lol lol lol

We are all feeling really rough so will be a chill out evening with baths and beds.... oooh and Im a Celebrity starts tonight I think.... cant wait to get my dose of Dec from Ant & Dec!!!

RGP - same stuff here and still nothing!

JARM · 12/11/2007 17:08

oops meant mini - not RGP!

Minicooper · 12/11/2007 17:13

I'm 4 days behing you, JARM, so will watch with interest....!

sarahloumadam · 12/11/2007 17:15

Hi

The power of suggestion - saw that LOM was going back to bed and woke up 3 hours later...! Feel really poo at the mo just tired and achey, elephant ankles and weird numb fingers that keep dropping everything - boo hoo!

Congrats FCH and Berry! Lots of gorgeous babies and names. And lots of different experiences but everyone sounding up-beat which is good for those of us still waiting...

Have repacked hospital bag and now have separate bag for baby stuff! Baby with us to begin with so we haven't decorated the nursery yet what with the move and everything it was one less thing to worry about. Sure there are loads of useful things I should be doing. Did i hear someone say that you should wait till after to buy nursing bras?

SGK - hope you get some answers from the consultant soon.

x

RGPargy · 12/11/2007 18:14

Fiona - Thai meal out sounds lovely!! I'm very of you!

No idea what to cook in the cook off. The only things i've done is Spag Bol, Lasagne and Shepherds Pie. Bit bored of all those tho and we've eaten all the frozen portions i made lol. Oh i did do a cauli-broc cheese and froze that, which has come out very nice.

Mini - same here with regard to pains and lack of stabbing fanjo pains lol. Must be normal.

Jarm - Still haven't packed my JIC bag yet. I really should get a move on! I'm with you on the laminate front too. Ours is in desperate need of a mop but i just CBA to do it atm. I wouldn't mind if it was one room, but it's ALL the rooms, except for the conversatory and the staircase. Bloody stuff!

Sarah - hope you feel a bit livelier soon! I also heard that you should wait til your milk comes in before buying nursing bras. In the meantime, just sit with your norks out. I'm sure your DH wont mind!

OP posts:
littleoldme · 12/11/2007 20:10

Fiona - I like your idea of having nappies Etc in a basket downstairs. Hadn't even though about that.
Green Curry mmmmmmmm. Sounds scrum.

Mini - I'm getting that too. I'm choosing to think it's everything limbering up. Am also very of your mate having her baby 12 days early.

Sarah - Glad I helped you get more sleep

RGPargy · 12/11/2007 20:54

Ooooo i'm all excited!!!

I just got my Birth Pool in a Box out properly (hadn't got it out of the packet before in case baby was breech and i would have to return it). We inflated almost to full capacity, and it fits really nicely in the front room. It will fit even better when we move the smaller sofa out and stick the pool in the corner. I even got in it and "pretended" for a bit! Cannot wait now, i'm so excited!!

COME ON BABY!!!!!!!!!

Just to say we're back from holiday - the cottage was lovely. What's not so lovely is the fact that the bedroom was 11C this morning despite the Dimplex being on all night. Not sure what to do to keep the wee one warm enough whenever it decides to arrive...?

sparklygothkat · 12/11/2007 22:33

weighing day tomorrow, HV and SCBU nurse both coming to see us. The SCBU nurse put into Callum's red book about the weigh problem in case someone thought we weren't getting any help for him. He was born on the 50th percentile and is now on the 0.4th If he hasn't gained anything this week he will drop off the chart

RGPargy · 12/11/2007 22:49

Good luck for tomoz Sparkly.

Thinking of you today Choc.

Rg - Glad your pool fits. LOL at you pretending. How do you fill and empty it without flooding the house?

The lady - Glad you enjoyed your hols. you could always but a heater with a thermostat if you are worried.

Sparkly - Hope you have positive news by the end of the day.

Norks very tender and quite leaky. If this child doesn't arrive soon I'm going to start charging it rent.

DH is such a softy. We are looking after a neighbours cat. They asked me to feed him them chuck him out of the house, there is no cat flap. DH has taken pity on him and lined a wooden box and put a blanket in it so he has somewhere warm to sleep. And I'm the one who is supposed to nesting.

sarahloumadam · 13/11/2007 09:49

My bf just phoned to let me know she has had her baby boy and she had a v.positive VBAC and is over the moon! And he was born on his dad's birthday. I didn't cry. Much.

Bless your DH LOM! My DH is doing more nesting than me, getting the new house all sorted etc. LOL at you charging rent. I haven't had any leakage so hope they will be loaded and ready when the big day arrives! I am definately charging rent for the bump space tho - keep banging into things and sweeping things off tables.

Sparkly - really hope that you can get some reassurance today. You have had such a journey together already.

RG - glad the pool fits your room, how long will it take to fill? I am planning on having a waterbirth at the MLU and I can't wait to get into water and for my belly and boobs to be completely covered rather than sticking out like the flamin'Peak District. Thanks for the advice re the nursing bras too.

Lady - I have been wondering about the cold too. All the little hats I bought him don't seem so ridiculous now. Think we have been spoilt with the mild weather.

Fiona and JARM - how are the pineapples etc working out? Think curry and sex will be the way forward for me from next week onwards. If only I could have a few vodka and tonics it would almost be like the old days .

Have a nice day everyone. x

fiona76 · 13/11/2007 09:50

Morning all!
I really thought things were happening last night. Had a few contractions so got out the clary sage and massage oil and massaged my bump and boobs and got DH to massage my back. I bounced on my ball for a few hours and then jumped on DH. But nothing happened. Still due in 2 days so it can't be to far away surely...
Thinking of Choc and Sparkly today- hope you guys are ok.
I am feeling a bit feed up today its cruddy weather and I've nothing planned except the dentist this afternoon.
Think I might have a clary sage infused bath.

RGPargy · 13/11/2007 10:15

Morning ladies!

LOM - You use a hosepipe and a pump. Hosepipe fills it up, pump empties it out. Simple stuff! (apparently!) Awww bless your DH and the cat. Funnily enough i dreamt that DP wanted two new kittens last night and i was phoning this woman i used to work with as she had kittens, but she'd just literally had a baby and wasn't up for talking about me taking two of her kittens. Bizarre!!!

Lady - Yes, a heater and thermometer will do the job. Make sure you do get a thermometer tho so baby doesn't get too hot!

Sarah - I think it takes about an hour to fill up, but that's on the assumption we'll have constant hot water gushing through the taps. That's where there's a slight problem - our hot water flow is absolutely pants and we dont have a combi-boiler so might actually run out of hot water and have to get the saucepans on the hob!! Hopefully it'll all work out ok tho.

Fiona - Sorry things didn't kick off for you after all. Fingers crossed things will start off soon for you. If you're feeling fed up, i recommend tea and cake and feet up in front of the telly with a good DVD.

I've got to go the bank today and pay a cheque in and thought i'd take a trip to poundland see if they have any cheap towels there that i can buy to put under the pool and around the room. I wont mind ruining them if they're cheap, rather than ruining my lovely fluffy bath towels!

This afternoon i have to do yet more bloody painting. As much as i'm fed up with it, every brush stroke brings the nursery that much closer to being finished so i shouldn't complain really.

I had all these plans of sitting around watching my favourite series, like Heroes, Prison Break, Desperate Housewives etc but so far i've not watched a single episode! I'm starting to panic that i wont EVER get to watch them!!! Noooooooooooooo!!!!!

Best of luck to Choc and Sparkly for today. Will be thinking of you both.

Have a nice day the rest of you.

Can't believe that I am due next week!

I go from being very excited and wanting it to happen NOW to then thinking I am rather enjoying this time to myself and can wait a bit longer. It seems to change moment to moment.

Feeling a bit more energetic- took the dog for an hour walk yesterday and then into town to run errands, and then made dinner- and felt very domgod about it all.

Feeling a bit more odd- finding walking v uncomfortable- but making myself do it anyway, numb fingers, increased BH and fanjo pain, and feel like my morning sickness has come back to haunt me to a lesser extent. I am not really finding pregnancy to be a magical time.

DH is wildy excited about LO and we've been having such a nice time these past few weeks- lots of dinners out and bubble baths to maximise our couple time together. We've also taken to walking to our local pub where he's been teaching me how to shoot pool (though HUGE bump does tend to get in the way) which is rather fun even though I am TERRIBLE.

I just can't believe that so many of you are painting, decorating, sewing and being generally amazingly productive people- my hats off to you.
