Hello everyone!

How are you all? We're getting close now! Hope everyone is okay and managing to get through these last few weeks in whatever way is best for you!

I did a reversal on my vaccine decision given the upsurge in cases 10 days ago and had the vaccine last Thursday with no issues. I felt fine after, just slightly headachey the next day and a really dead arm!! I'm hoping it was the right decision.

Congratulations @Leala20, so glad you had a safe arrival! I don't know much about advice re waiting for another FET post c-section. I think they advise waiting 12 months for natural conception but I'm sure plenty of people have done so earlier!

Congrats on finishing work @SpyroC @ekam 👍 I have finished now too. 38 weeks here and I had a growth scan today as bump hadn't grown. All looking good and estimated weight currently is 7lb 1, so I'm ready for her to rock up whenever she feels like it!

How are you doing @MF1981? Hope your double load are growing nicely for you now ☺️

@ekam glad you're ECV went well. I'm wondering if you and @ChicaXS have babies in your arms now?!

Take care all x

MF1981 · 29/07/2021 13:20

Thanks for the tips @Leala20 !

@MGee123 yep coming along nicely! I had to go in for monitoring last week due to reduced movements and had an extra growth scan yesterday but all is fine. The thing that is not fine is how huge my feet are all the time! That and the incredible hip and pelvis pain is driving me crazy. It reduced me to tears last night and my partner called the maternity unit because he was so worried about how much pain I was in. I’m only 29+4 and I can’t imagine having to do another 6 weeks of this.

sazzt · 29/07/2021 13:41

@MF1981 I really sympathise with the hip pain and swelling! If it gives you any hope at all - I was also in tears Monday after no sleep Sunday due to hip pain and hardly being able to move all day Monday. Mine's a singleton rather than twins, but somehow over Monday night she must have moved into a different position and honestly I feel like a new woman. The pain and discomfort has subsided so substantially. don't give up hope, it's not necessarily just going to stay the same or get worse, hopefully they might have a little shuffle around and release pressure on some of those areasThanks

tikha · 29/07/2021 13:52

Hi everyone just an update our baby arrived early so has to spend 2 to 3 weeks in neonate complicated by a difficult birth, csection and haemorrhage.. we are all doing fine now but has been an issue with pain management from c section and combining breast feeding and breast pumping . Oh well.. all is well that ends well.

MF1981 · 31/07/2021 07:56

Thank you @sazzt hopefully mine will do the same.

Sorry to hear that @tikha - keep going and I’m sure you’ll be taking your little one home very soon.

ekam · 31/07/2021 11:37

@tikha congratulations and sorry you had a difficult birth. Fingers crossed everything will go smoothly from now and you’ll get better soon xx

@Leala20 thank you for the tips. Hope all is well with you and bubba

@MGee123 I saw the stats on Covid in pregnant women yesterday - think you made the right decision! I’m so close to having the baby so don’t think I can get the jab in time … but if I had a few more weeks I would. I’m 41+1 today - no signs of baby yet 😂, this little one don’t seem to want to come out. Now it’s the waiting game and I’m getting quite impatient.

@sazzt glad the pain has gone down. I had terrible lightning crotch for a few weeks but it has also gone down in the last 2 weeks or so. Somehow at full term I can move around much easier than before.

Hope everyone else is doing well x

tikha · 09/08/2021 17:26

So we finally made it home. Hope everyone is welcoming their babies soon

MF1981 · 09/08/2021 17:58

Great news @tikha !

How is everyone else doing? I’m 31 weeks now and due a growth scan on Wednesday.

MGee123 · 11/08/2021 21:17

That's brilliant news @tikha although sorry to hear it has been such a traumatic time for you.

I'm wondering if a few more babies have arrived by now?!

Full term here and no sign of movement 🙄 I'm walking miles each day and bouncing on a ball the rest of the time with no result 😂 hoping she doesn't keep us waiting too much longer!

Hope your scan went well today @MF1981 🤞

sazzt · 12/08/2021 22:44

After a few growth scans baby girl is still measuring big so I have opted for an elective csection @ 39 weeks so she will be here in just over a week's time!

MF1981 · 13/08/2021 08:53

Hey! So growth scan on wednesday showed that one of the twins’ growth has slowed a little so I’m back in next week for a Doppler check and the week after for another growth scan. They’re currently around 3lb 3oz and 3lb 8oz. Amazing how they can work this stuff out!

SpyroC · 18/08/2021 22:00

Hi All, sorry for being MIA my baby girl arrived on 23.07 & it has just been a whirlwind since! I am delighted to say that she came naturally & I didn't need an induction in the end. 🙌🏻 the birth was all good though we needed a little help from a ventouse. We are all doing well although the first couple of weeks were tough-I knew breast feeding was supposed to be hard but I hadn't contemplated just how hard.

Congratulations @tikha i'm glad you are all home now.

Any news @MGee123 @ChicaXS ?

How are the other new mommas doing? X

ekam · 18/08/2021 23:22

Hi everyone. Sorry I’ve been silent too. My baby boy arrived at 42+3. After 2 days of induction and no sign from him that he want to come out whatsoever, I opted for a C-section rather going further with induction, considering my complicated history with endometriosis. We are both home and doing well. I still can’t believe he’s here with us after years of trying. So emotional 😭. I keep crying looking at his beautiful face.

@tikha glad you are home. Hope it’s been all well (and better) since and you get to enjoy spending time with the bubba.

@SpyroC congrats mama such brilliant brilliant news. Well done to you both ❤️

@MGee123 hope the C section went well. Let us know how you are getting on x

@MF1981 how did the scan go?

ekam · 18/08/2021 23:24

@MGee123 sorry I was meant to tag @sazzt in the comment about C section above. How’s it going with you? Mine did not want to move and had to be evicted out.

ChicaXS · 19/08/2021 18:35

Hi am so sorry for the late response. I am pleased to announce the birth of Rami he arrived on the 28th of July. He is a gorgeous little boy! It’s been a whirlwind journey his three weeks however I’ve had ups and downs including his weight, jaundice and sleepless nights. Am finally breastfeeding but I am using formula for top ups however Rami has been restless and I’m very concerned regarding baby dinosaur noises that he is making constantly 😩
GP will call tomorrow.
C section went ok but I caught an infection which wasn’t kind! Recovery was brutal. He still was breech on the day so had to go ahead. Is anyone else breastfeeding? Hope all is well! X

ChicaXS · 19/08/2021 18:36

Btw- congratulations all!!!!

@SpyroC @ekam @MGee123 er al x

ekam · 19/08/2021 18:45

@ChicaXS congratulations, mama. I am breastfeeding too. Im struggling to know if he’s having too much/too little. My little man spent his first few days in special care due to hypoglycaemia and he was on very strict 3hr feed schedule, so now I’m extra nervous about his feeding time/amount. I top up with expressed milk so i know how much he’s getting in him. But even after munching on boobs for what seem like an hour he would then finish an extra 50ml from the bottle - which makes me question if he’s feeding efficiently from the boobs.

I would really love to have a WhatsApp group for peer support and compare milestones if anyone is keen. I don’t have any mum group that live close by who are on the same timeline

ChicaXS · 19/08/2021 18:53

@ekam you can never overfeed on Breast Milk. But it’s so hard knowing what their intake is!!! My top up are at least 60ml so well done you! Are you pumping from the breast? How much are you getting? I hardly get an oz sometimes! I still want to bf but it’s bloody hard! I’d love to join the WhatsApp group please!!

SamoyedFan123 · 19/08/2021 19:04

Congratulations to everyone who has had their babies - sorry I've been absent for a while - been so busy with a newborn and twin toddlers! I'm sorry to see that so many of our babies have had a tough start, but it's great that they are all now doing well 😀 I'm exclusively breast feeding here. Little man has nasty reflux issues so we are now on omeprazole and gaviscon and hoping he grows out of it soon 🤞 assist from that he's doing very well after his rough first two weeks.

MF1981 · 20/08/2021 06:55

Congratulations to you all and I’m so glad to hear that you and the babies are all doing well now, even if some of you have had a rough ride.

I’m 32+4 now. One twin’s growth has slowed a little so am being monitored every week at the week. The plan is to get a date for the c section booked in when I see the consultant next week as it will depend on how the growth is going.

Last day at work today which feels so surreal!

ChicaXS · 20/08/2021 16:28

Hi @SamoyedFan123 we just got back from A&E as our baby has had bad reflux issues and they prescribed omeprazole. How are you finding it? Our baby grunts constantly and everyone just kept fobbing me off to the point I had to take him to A&E. did the omeprazole work for your little one? X

SamoyedFan123 · 20/08/2021 18:45

@chicaXS I know what you mean about being fobbed off - we were fobbed off by the goodish and the GPs for weeks despite his history because he was actually gaining weight so they just didn't care. He had his first dose of omeprazole yesterday and did have a much more settled night. Time will tell if that was the medication or a coincidence!

SamoyedFan123 · 20/08/2021 18:46

@MF1981 exciting times! My twins arrived at 33+5 so you may not be far off now 😊

MGee123 · 21/08/2021 15:28

Congratulations @SpyroC @ekam @ChicaXS!

@SamoyedFan123 glad to hear you're doing well 😀 and @MF1981 hope the little one keeps growing a bit longer for you.

We also have had an arrival this week! Birth went okay, I had an episiotomy but otherwise fairly straightforwardly but our little girl became unresponsive shortly after delivery which was very stressful. She is absolutely fine but it was a very traumatic experience. Then in the evening i unfortunately haemorrhaged and had to go to theatre for surgery! So all in all not the smoothest, but I am remarkably well now with minimal pain and everything healing nicely. I am severely anaemic due to the blood loss so am just waiting for that to sort itself out with the help of an iron infusion. Hoping to be feeling better soon although emotionally have really struggled the last few days. I think it's partly the hormone shift but also adjustment to this new life! Im so happy she's here but it is also a little overwhelming. Our little girl is doing brilliantly and breast feeding is going okay, although we had a few difficult days the last 24 hours have been much better.

So lovely to hear everyone's news and look forward to hearing about those we're still waiting on!

tikha · 24/08/2021 19:33

Good to hear all the updates everyone. Its been a bit manic for us just getting used to her and keeping on top of her feeding, as she is small for gestational age

congratulation @SpyroC @ekam @ChicaXS @MGee123 @ekam

@MGee123 hope you recover from your birth. I had something similar happen after my csection. Ask them to check your haemoglobin because you can feel very run down if you are anaemic. Am glad your little girl is doing well now

@ChicaXS sorry to hear about reflux issues and jaundice.. hope you get on top of the reflux

@ekam I totally get what you mean about being nervous about feeding. we were supplementing with bottle as well as breast feeding. But now have transitioned to mainly breast feeding as her weight is going up.. Its all very anxiety inducing.

@SamoyedFan123 May I ask does the reflux for your baby happen all day.. I am wondering if my baby has the same issue as she seems very unsettled at night when lying flat...Its not such an issue during the day.

@MF1981 hope the twins keep growing in you for a bit longer

@sazzt good luck for the c-section.

@Leala20 and @TheGlitterFairy hope you are doing well

Its amazing how may of us have had a csection. Are there any exercises or you tube videos people are following once they hit the 6 week mark post c-section? I feel so unfit post c-section.. Oh well one thing at a time.
