@sazzt @MGee123 @MGee123 @TheGlitterFairy I'm sure the online version will be good. Just not as good as face to face. Especially as my main interest in friend buying 😂. We did a free 2 hour course about newborns online last weekend and it was great! @TheGlitterFairy the June one is now likely online too so good call!

@TheGlitterFairy I'm glad the test went well

I ended up at MAU again today for reduced movements. Everything was thankfully fine but it's so scary when they ask you to go in. They did a growth scan to be safe because of my low Pap a and me being classed as high risk so that was nice! I hate having an anterior placenta! It's typical though that we have our 4d scan booked for tomorrow! @ekam @TheGlitterFairy I agree that they can look a bit creepy 😂 at the time we booked it our hospital still weren't allowing partners except for at 20w. This has now changed but we decided to keep the 4d as it should be a nice experience. Wasn't expecting a scan today too though! 🙈 the next growth scan is in less than 2 weeks too! I'll be all scanned out 😂

@ekam we'll done on sorting the pram 👏🏻 massive job sorted! That and the Uppababy are definitely very practical!

@sazzt fb marketplace is a magical place 😉, good luck with the hunt!

@SpyroC I’m glad everything went fine with the scan! It’s scary when there’s reduced movements. I had a similar one last week but they just listened to the heartbeat then sent me home. It’s not a bad thing to have all the scans lined up 😁, hopefully you feel assured and it’s always nice to see the little one on screen. Look forward to hear about tomorrow’s scan.

@TheGlitterFairy thank you good to know that you can’t tell 😁.

Newscaredmum22 · 24/04/2021 04:32

Hi, first time ever posting on this site, I had my frozen embryos transfer 16/04 and I now have a positive test! I have cramps and wonder can anyone tell me if this is normal please, thank you

MGee123 · 24/04/2021 06:47

Yes I'm sure you're right @SpyroC - think I was just a bit tired and in a grump the other day so bad timing to receive the email! 😂 we are going to stick with the online NCT, hopefully it will be helpful. We definitely need to do some kind of course as we are clueless 😂

Sorry to hear about your movement worry but glad all okay. Enjoy your scan today! We are thinking of booking a private one for in a few weeks time - I'd like to see her once more before she comes out 🥰

Well done @ekam! I think there does come a point with these things where you just have to bite the bullet!

@TheGlitterFairy so glad your tests went well.

Does anyone else feel like time is starting to go quite quickly?! I feel we've not got that long left now! I am feeling great this morning as I have a whole week off work the first time since last August. My out of office is on and I couldn't be happier 😂 I have got quite a few weeks of leave over the next few months so only actually have 10 working weeks left at work before finishing, which is rather scary!

Possibly a bit TMI but I was struggling with constipation for a few weeks (not badly, but I am usually v regular so it was really bothering me), but I have started eating a kiwi every evening the last few days - oh my goodness it helps so much!! Just in case anyone else is struggling and can stomach kiwis! 🙈 they are actually far nicer than I remember.

Welcome @Newscaredmum22 and congrats on your positive test! Yes cramps and feeling like your period is going to start any minute is totally normal, try not to panic. I had some brown spotting the day before and first few days after my positive as well. When is your OTD?

Newscaredmum22 · 24/04/2021 07:50

Thank you, Tuesday 27th, the is no doubt I am pregnant, I have taken daily tests 😬it’s crazy how obsessed you become, we have had so many failed tests previously so am very nervous! Yes I had brown spotting Thursday, checked google and seen it was normal, then was recommended on here! X

sazzt · 24/04/2021 18:44

@ekam as if by magic, found one today! Only a year old, selling as they'd had another and needed a double. So good to have the pram sorted.

@MGee123 omg thank you for that tip! I had two kiwis this morning and feeling a lot better now 👍👍😂😂

ekam · 27/04/2021 13:00

@Newscaredmum22 congratulations. I had some brown spotting in the first trimester myself so yes it's very common. Good luck and hope everything is going well.

@sazzt brilliant! So good to get it ticked off, isn't it :)

@MGee123 I'm on iron tablets and have been having dates to help, and now will add kiwi as well. Thanks for the tip.

SpyroC · 02/05/2021 10:11

Sorry I've been MIA. Last week working in the building so it's been crazy busy! So glad it's now a 3 day weekend.

@ekam that was all they did with me at 21 weeks. It was a much more in depth check at 26w. I found out that the monitoring is standard procedure at 26w in my trust.

@Newscaredmum22 I hope everything is ok? As others have said all normal.

@MGee123 I resonate with everything you said in your last post. I was also initially very annoyed about NCT but I've let it go though thinking about it I've still not had my 15% refund! (Que renewed anger 😂). Constipation has plagued me for 2 weeks so I've added kiwis to my list! I'm also trying Kefir. Finally, yes all of a sudden...where has time gone! It is exciting now though!

So it's been a good week for us. 3D scan was lovely and we can see DH in her 🥰 (though given he is now allowed into nhs scans not sure we'd of splashed out but hey it was a nice experience anyway) and yesterday we picked up our lovely new travel system which is very exciting!

I hope everyone is doing well and having a nice bank holiday weekend. x

How is everyone? I am feeling sort of forgotten/uneasy (not really sure how to describe it) with the country starting to return to some sort of normality whilst RCOG advice sees me working from home & NCT taking place virtually... I think 3rd trimester pregnant ladies are a lonely group now!

Anyway, came on to discuss that and didn't realise I was the last poster. Hope you're all good! Xx

Hi everyone!

Agree @SpyroC it is a bit worrying knowing that restrictions ease just as our risk increases, I'd like to be excited for the restrictions easing but actually I'm worried I will need to restrict even more to mitigate! I've just booked for my vaccine tomorrow, got a message from my gp inviting me for Pfizer. I've been massively in two minds as the impact on baby is unknown (if I wasn't pregnant I'd be there in a shot) and we're so careful about everything else that goes into our body during pregnancy. But then the risk of premature birth if I got it, and long term impact on baby if I were to get covid is also completely unknown🤷‍♀️ there's definitely no right answer, it feels an impossible choice but ultimately for me I've come down on the side of having it.

Our free nhs online classes start this week for three weeks, then NCT starts the week after that so it's all starting to get very real. No more exciting baby purchases, though I have slowly been acquiring things like sheets for the pram and crib, baby towels etc. Working through the list slowly but surely!

TheGlitterFairy · 12/05/2021 17:51

Hello everyone! Sorry I’ve been MIA too - work has been crazy and been trying to sort out another decorator for the nursery as the first one decided not to show up or contact me, which is not helpful!!

We have our John Lewis appt tomorrow to test drive buggies, car seats and cribs plus goodness knows what else so excited about that!! Also bought a new car last week too as ours isn’t child friendly 😂 so it’s going to be an expensive week😂😂!!

Had my 28 week appts last week with the consultant and midwife - all good and a bonus of no additional bloods needed as is had a full set the 2 weeks before that with the GTT so that was a pleasant surprise!!
The consultant asked if I’d have the Covid vaccination or not (I’ve decided not to as low risk with wfh etc) so all fine with that decision.
On vaccinations, has anyone had their whooping cough one? Need to sort that out I think….

There was yet another discussion about reasons for c section which while I know they have to check, seems a bit overkill as it’s been every appt I’ve had since December (and I’ve had a lot) - she’s all fine with it which is good though had “forgotten” that there are now 3 potential medical reasons for one anyway with the low placenta/ second placenta and breech baby!! They’ve brought forward my 32 week scan by a few days and that’ll now be done by a fetal medicine specialist so they can take a better view of all of the complexities and I guess work out a date for c section if they’re all still there. There was talk it may need to be at the 38 rather than 39 week stage to mitigate the potential for a spontaneous labour - so I was pleased that we have the appt tomorrow as that’s only about 9 weeks away which really doesn’t seem a long time now at all!!!

Feeling pleased we’ve reached the 3rd trimester! Having never thought anything would work, it’s amazing to be nearly 30 weeks in!! Still feeling tired and was massively grumpy yesterday but other than that, all good!!

@SpyroC hope you’re ok - I guess you’re wfh now you’re past the 28 week mark…..the good news with things opening up and risk profiles is that there are LOADS of people who have been vaccinated and so we’ll have some protection from that. Just do what you feel comfortable doing for the next couple of months and we’ll get there 💪

MGee123 · 12/05/2021 19:25

Hello everyone,

We've all been a bit MIA! Sorry for the lack of chatting!

Glad you're well @SpyroC @TheGlitterFairy @sazzt 😊 yes it is a bit strange with everything unlocking as we got into the third trimester. I'm trying to stay relaxed and we've just agreed we're going to stick to outdoor socialising as much as possible. I'm comfortable wearing a mask if I'm around others, even if they think it's silly!

Hope your NHS classes are good @sazzt. Our NCT is end of June I think. I have also just had a vaccine invite from my GP. I had been comfortable deciding not to have it, but this has made me think again! Will ponder it over the weekend I think.

Enjoy your JL appt @TheGlitterFairy! We went a few weeks back but didn't find anything that really felt right so are going to a local independent place in a few weeks. Sorry you're having to go round in circles a bit about the c-section but glad it all still sounds okay.

I have just made our first purchase of a baby carrier! I'm so busy with work and I'm finishing an MSc this year as well, so am struggling to find time to think baby, but am hoping we'll get everything sorted in time eventually!

I've been feeling really good on the whole the last couple of weeks which has been nice. A bit less tired and my back hasn't been aching as badly. My ankles have started swelling at the end of the day - I'm not loving the cankles look! I have my 28 week midwife appt on Friday which I'm looking forward too 😊

MF1981 · 12/05/2021 21:02

Hi everyone! Sounds like it’s getting exciting for you all! I had my 18 week internal cervix scan today and all looked fine. Also got to see the babies again - they were facing each other with their foreheads together. They looked so cute! Also got my NIPT results back and we’ve dropped down to low risk which is great news as well.

sazzt · 12/05/2021 22:06

@MF1981 ah that's great news!

SpyroC · 15/05/2021 09:57

@sazzt my hospital hasn't started it's antenatal classes back up yet. It seems odd, 🤞🏻 they will in time. I'm done with big baby purchases too. Just trying to navigate my way through all the smaller things without falling for any money wasting items. It definitely feel real. 9 weeks to go 🙊🤗

@TheGlitterFairy hows the buggy hunt going? I hope you got your nursery decorated. We also have a few big things we need tradesmen to do (it all got put off whilst finding ivf). Time is running out though! I had my whooping cough at 20w scan, it was fine, just an achey arm for the rest of the day. I'm glad your scan went well. I had mine too which was also good. I seem to have an appointment of some sorry pretty much every week. I quite like this as I feel like they are keeping a close eye. Got a consultant call tomorrow, need to see what my chances are of being allowed into their new onsite MLU which looks lovely. I doubt they will allow me though.

@MGee123 glad to hear you're doing well. How did the midwife appointment go? Mine was the shortest yet as I'd had 2 scans in 2 weeks and for once didn't have a massive list of questions 😂.

@MF1981 that's great news! 🤗

It's interesting all this talk of vaccines. I was a definite no for it whilst pregnant & wanted AstraZeneca Post giving birth (that plans gone down the toilet as I'm too young for AZ.) But I actually reconsidered having it once I hit 28w. I've still decided not too as I am wfh and am being super careful. I agree with you all that there's no clear right or wrong & it's a very personal choice. My one risk is to continue attending my midwife led antenatal yoga & social class which goes face to face this week. I had been looking forward to this but now feel a little anxious (especially after the Indian variant announcement yesterday)🤔 what would you all do?

Just out look to finally achieve pregnancy during a global pandemic! We are IVF warriors+ 😂👊🏻

Did any of you ladies do the NCT classes online? Mine have just been moved online instead of face to face which surprised me as we’re not due to start until 7th July. We’ll be doing an online class with the Twins Trust specifically for multiples so now not sure of the value of doing both. I was only really doing NCT in the hope of meeting other mummies!

sazzt · 19/05/2021 21:07

@MF1981 our NCT starts 1st June online so will report back after that! Doing it for much the same reason re meeting people, and really hoping it will still serve that purpose, perhaps can meet up and go for coffee/walks locally etc outside of the classes to get to know each other better. Fingers crossed!

Leala20 · 20/05/2021 14:41

Hello, I am doing it online and enjoying it a lot apart from the fact it’s exhausting 2 h in front of zoom after work! But really interesting small groups snd great to know mums to be in the area, and great to do it with my DH.

MGee123 · 21/05/2021 08:30

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all still bumping along okay!

@sazzt @MF1981 our NCT is online but we don't start until the end of June. My friend who did it online earlier in the year has still managed to make a good group of friends out of it so I'm hoping we find the same!

@SpyroC midwife appt was good thank you! All fine other than bump a bit small but she wasn't overly concerned. I have another appt in 3 weeks so they will look at it again then. She certainly feels like she's getting bigger in there!!

I feel accomplished today as I actually bought some baby stuff yesterday! I've bought a carrier and a manual breast pump as I want to try expressing (assuming BF goes okay) so my husband can participate in feeding. Also bought two bottles to try and figured we can order more if we get on well with it.

Must make a decision on the buggy soon and get started on the nursery..! 🙈

SpyroC · 21/05/2021 11:33

My NCT doesn't start until early June. Tbh I feel like I've paid a lot of money for a WhatsApp group! We've done a couple of free courses already and I think they've covered the content. Tbf someone on here described it as paying for local friends and that is now truer than ever! I went to my face to face antenatal class last night and tbh, as much as I enjoyed it, I wish it had stayed online as that was 100% safe. The other ladies seemed totally happy though so I'm probably paranoid about Covid.

Good start @MGee123 the buggy choosing was hard! I got a manual suction pump that a friend recommended mainly for capturing the other boob's leakage to start with. If it goes well I'll look into a electrical one too I think.

sazzt · 21/05/2021 12:02

I had the second session of our local NHS trust antenatal classes online last night...I have to say given how tired I get these days it was an absolute delight to turn off the computer at 9.30pm and be in bed ten mins later rather than having to drive home etc etc!! 😂😂

tikha · 23/05/2021 12:36

Hey alll sorry for the MIA.. work as usual is keeping me busy. Did my first purchase this weekend for a pram. Decided to get the babyzen yoyo2 in the rare opportunity that we can travel again plus being in London and having no car we would mainly use public transport. probably going to get the cotton close caboo as well.. but still not decided on the rest. planning to inherite a lot of the stuff. However will invest in a next to me and a cot. Should I get a breast pump? Was thinking to wait till after the baby is here to see if we take BF or not. We are hoping to but you never know.

28 weeks today due August 15th.. how time flies... Got my GD test next week. I have decided not go for the NCT, instead for the truncated courses as its all online anyway and not sure we will have the time before as we are trying to cram a lot before the baby arrives. Our trust has online classes which are booked out from the beginning and am surprised that they dont admit more people since its online. Seems really daft. The classes are free and useful. oh well.

I have a wedding invite on the 2nd of July which I think I will give a miss considering a risk in the third trimester. I have finally gotten around letting people know that I am pregnant so I hope they understand.

Re: vaccination, am due my second AZ. I dont think I would have gotten the AZ if I knew the SEs even though the risk is super rare the median age is actually 49 and its an autoimmune condition rather than clots and if you did get this rare SE then I am not sure the treatment would be appropriate if you are pregnant but you would need it anyway. The second dose doesnt have the side effect if the first one is ok but in two minds about it. Am still going to work as its deemed low risk as no longer patient facing but you still have to share an elevator with other people and they are getting less cautious.. The government seems to not reminding people that are actually unvaccinated people who could be higher risk of getting covid and mask wearing in indoor places should be adhered to but hey thats life.

@MF1981 great news re nipt
@MGee123 am right there with you have a ton of research to write up @SpyroC glad to hear you doing well. I dont think you are paranoid about covid. The risk is higher in third trimester and we have already been through too much to take further risks...
@Leala20 you must be almost there? forgot when your due date is?
@TheGlitterFairy enjoy JL.
@sazzt would have probably done the NCT for making friends but not sure we have the bandwidth for it.. Glad that you are doing well.. Can't believe only 10 weeks left
@ekam oyster 3 was on our list but we figure we would just carry her around in a carrier if we go for walks maybe thats unrealistic
@BonTon hope all is well with you as well
@Newscaredmum22 congratulations

MF1981 · 26/05/2021 18:50

Hey how is everyone doing? I had my 20 week scan and whooping cough vaccine today. All looked fine with the babies although they were being really awkward for the sonographer! I have a low lying anterior placenta for one of them and the other is top left. And in the end I decided to find out the gender - we’re having a boy and a girl! 💙💖 So over the moon!
