Jet - soooo annoying isn't it! I've done a really long post before, then hit submit and i got a "page could not be found" What i do now before i submit any really long posts is copy the contents of the message box before i hit submit and then if i get that message again, at least it's all on my clipboard (hopefully!).

Sorry to hear that your LO is breach. Let's hope that they turn and a C-section doesn't become necessary. It's really heart breaking isn't it when your kids bawl their eyes out about going to nursery. I remember doing that myself when i was at infants school! The teacher and my mum had to prize my fingers off the door frame - imagine if you will, a little RGPargy, starfish stylee in the door frame lol. I'm sure it's just a phase and they always cheer up quickly once they're inside so dont worry.

Pixie and everyone else having babies soon - i'm soooo excited for you!!!!

Silk - lol @ "any contractions yet?" Talk about passion killer!! hahaha!! Bless! No chance of me going quiet btw - i love my net too much! I'm looking forward deffo to de-spewing myself in the new year at space.

Swimming - I really must buy a cozzie soon. I want to make the effort to go but so far my week next week is fairly busy! I just want to put my feet up and eat my two Wispas!!

I've also hit the wall of tiredness too. I slept until around 10am this morning, but could have slept later. If it wasn't for the fact that i had to go and pick up a cheque, i'd have stayed in bed much longer.

OP posts:
littleoldme · 19/10/2007 17:30

Blimey - It all kicks off next week eh. the time is drawing near. I'm so excited for everyone.

Silk - say it loud and say it proud, ' I LOVE THE ARCHERS!'

Jet - Hope your LO does a timely back flip. Your DH sounds very dedicated to natural induction methods .

RG _ Hope you mange to resolve the moral conflict re swimming vs Wispas. the things is, unless you are going to enjoy it there's no point. I benefit c'o it relaxes me soo much and it's nice to feel weightless.

ChocolateHobnob · 19/10/2007 18:35

Loopy - v sorry about your cat

Enjoying all the Archers discussion - I've never got into it but it strikes me as eminently civilized!

It all seems it's going to happen soon for people! Exciting! Iris, it's really really soon for you!

RG, pool or Wispas - I'd go for Wispas...

Silk, I'm in the tiredness wall too. I just feel utterly exhausted!

Anna, are you enjoying peace without the guests?

Jetgirl, do you think your DD is sort of aware that a sibling will come soon and change the family balance a bit?

Littleoldme/Choudru, your pramercise sounds funny! My friend was asked in John Lewis when she was pram choosing, was she planning to jog with it, and she was horrified, but maybe they meant this sort of thing!!!

Anyway news from me - I'VE FINISHED WORK! YEAH! 38,2 so not before time. I might even manage to pack my bag tomorrow... Tonight have the new Indian takeaway range from MnS to save cooking, and am so relieved that I get some time to just chill.

Students brought me flowers to say congrats which was nice.

Have a good Friday night everyone!!!

RGPargy · 19/10/2007 18:49

Choc - Well done on finishing work!! Not a moment too soon i'd say! Stick your feet up, grab some Wispas and enjoy your last few days/weeks!

I can never manage to catch up more than every few days and you are all so chatty! Just when I want to jump in, I realize the conversation has moved on...always late for the party

Loopy- So sorry to hear about your cat . Hope the LOs aren't too upset.

I'm excited for the ladies who are going to see their LOs soon!

Sorry to complain, but I'm getting so frustrated! I went to consultant this week for reg appt. and mentioned the frequent (5x a day)vomiting. They took some blood, gave me anti-nausea meds had me come back today to day assessment. LO doing well, but I'm dehydrated and my liver enzymes are high. Having a scan on gallbladder/liver on Tues. and check back again next week. Feeling tired, crappy, and now nervous that something is wrong. Anyone go through something like this? So NOT how I wanted to spend the end of my pg! Whining over

On the plus side...it's Friday and DH is home to help with DDs.

sarahloumadam · 19/10/2007 20:25

Wow, can't believe some of you will have your LOs next week! I am near the end of Nov and may go over as its my first so hearing all your baby stories will help me prepare. Or will it just go quiet I wonder?

LOL at some of your dreams. I dreamt last night that my baby was born with long red hair with a receding (sp?) hairline! Not only that but I kept submerging him in bath water much to other people's horror but it was fine because he could breathe. Make of that what you will!

Great news re Callum Sparkly. And gorgeous hormone-inducing new photo of him!

Chocolate - am in awe of you making it to 38 weeks before stopping work! I stop next Tues at 36 weeks and I am really next to useless now especially compared to my mat leave cover who started last week and who is making me feel v.inadequate with all her fab organisational skills.

Went out for my leaving do last night and the girls had made me a nappy cake! Anyone seen one? Looks like a wedding cake but made out of nappies and socks shaped like roses. Inside the cake were some vouchers for Mothercare and some for a local beauty salon and they were incredibly generous and made me feel all glow-ified. I suspect like RG that if I were to have another baby it might be a box of Quality Street and "see you later"!

So that was lovely but on the whole been ridiculously weepy and hormonal this week, like a leaky tap! Been averaging a sob a day I think, usually when I get home. And my belly feels so tight now that it hurts to cry (which makes me cry even more - pathetic )

Sorry to hear about your cat Loopy, sounds like your LO is processing the news rather healthily.

New things I can't do or with a lot of difficulty - putting on socks, emptying the bath, wiping myself after wee (TMI sorry). I have loved being pregnant and been v.lucky, felt good throughout etc but now really looking forward to having a waist again. Should just all ping back yes?

sarahloumadam · 19/10/2007 20:28

Sorry Kate was so long writing the last msg that missed yours. If you can't have a bloody good whinge on here then where? Whinge away. Being sick 5 times a day must be exhausting.

jetgirl · 19/10/2007 20:52

Well, when I got to nursery today DD didn't want to come home! She wanted to stay with her friends, so I am sure this is just a phase and it will soon pass. In a way it's quite touching that she wants to spend time with her mummy whom she obviously adores until her friends come along!

chocolate - DD knows there's someone else coming, apparently it's her baby! She is very protective of my bump, and baby obsessed at the moment, though that may well change when the little one is actually here! She has already chosen a present for LO though, which I thought was a good sign.

RG - that's a good tip re the long post, will remember that one.

nykate - sorry you're going through it at the moment, hope they find out what's wrong and that you're feeling better soon

MW wasn't hopeful that LO will turn, she reckons there is not much room left (I'd certainly agree with that!), and no amount of cleaning floors on all fours will help. Have decided to be positive about whatever method I'm going to give birth, a positive mental attitude can really help I think.

Gotta go and order the chinese takeaway - it's DHs payday so I'd better spend his money wisely!

RGPargy · 19/10/2007 20:57

Loopy - awww bless your DD walking her teddy round. Glad you had a better night's sleep.

nykate - sorry about the worries you're going through atm. Try not to worry too much about it, i'm sure they're just being thorough. Fingers crossed for you.

Sarah - dont worry, i'll be here with you at the end of the month! Although saying that, i'm aiming to pop at 38 weeks so will be commondeering (sp?) DP to do his duty as much as possible from 37 weeks onwards

LOL @ your dream tho!! Cant remember, but are you planning a water birth? If so, this could be why you were having this odd dream about LO being under water lol.

I've never heard of a nappy cake but it sounds lovely!! They sound the really generous sort too! You've been thoroughly spoilt by the sounds of it!

OP posts:
RGPargy · 19/10/2007 21:00

Jet - DD sounds like she is looking forward to the LO coming. A good mental attitude is the key to a successful birth, whichever method you choose i think! Good for you!

OP posts:
sparklygothkat · 19/10/2007 21:02

embarrassing question! Can sex only cause you to go into labour if you are nearly ready anyway? Its just that me and DH partook in rumpy pumpy about 2 hours before I had my first contraction , and he thinks that he caused me to go into premature labour.

RGPargy · 19/10/2007 21:07

I wouldn't have thought it would have made you go into labour early Sparkly. As you have a history of premmies and were getting contractions anyway, it probably wouldn't have made any difference. That's what i reckon anyway.

OP posts:
sarahloumadam · 19/10/2007 21:12

I am having a water birth RG so you may be onto something. Still not sure about the shoulder-length red hair tho! My workmates have been v.generous - bit like yours you lucky swine - Space NK is one of those shops I sometimes go into and look longingly at the products then come away again!

Sparkly - i had wondered about that as my MW said sex was the best method of bringing labour on but think your cervix would have to be good to go, sure your history is more relevant. Poor DP does he feel guilty?

sparklygothkat · 19/10/2007 21:15

yes , he feels guilty bless him, it was me that jumped him, before the kids woke up lol we had rerained (sp?) from sex from 28 weeks, but I was randy

JARM · 19/10/2007 23:42

evening all!

well ive been out most of today at my dads, and in town for 3hrs! My pelvis feels ready to snap because of all the walking, so am enjoying laying in bed writing this!

I cant wait to get to 36 weeks so i can start on raspberry leaf and sex!!! Have also decided to have a fireworks party this year in the hope that the bangs and things may scare baby into action!!! (HAHAHA!)

Got my tommee tippee order today - wow! Fab service! Was very impressed especially as so cheap too!

I got a tommee tippee steriliser in tesco a few months ago for £9.99 and have only realised tonight that it comes with £18 worth of accessories! 3xbottles a bottle brush and tongs! WOO HOO Bargain galore there!

Dad is coming over at 7.30 tomorrow morning to wallpaper the girls bedroom so we cab get that painted and the border up during the week and thne maybe baby's room will look like a baby room! Im itching to get in there and put the cot up and all that stuff, but cant while there are 2 toddlers camping out in there lol

I HAD 2 WISPAS TODAY!!!! OMG!!!! First time i have given in and bought them, but WOW they were just as good as the last time I had one! Also craving salt & vinegar crisps though which maybe isnt too good! Although to be fair, i only put on 11lbs from 12-32 weeks so i guess im allowed!!!

Right, will sign off now and check in again tomorrow morning, take care all xxx

AnnainNZ · 20/10/2007 09:09

They've gone, they've gone, the long-staying houseguests have gone! I actually danced round the room but had to stop as it set off some pretty strong BH's. They were gone by 4.30pm and since 5 pm dh and I have been lying in bed, eating crap food, watching crap TV, surfing the net, not having to be sociable or clean up anyone's mess or do ANYTHING we don't want to. Absolute bliss

Also did a tour of Birthcare today, which is the postnatal recovery place you transfer to from the hospital here, you stay 3 nights for free and can stay longer if you pay. Has midwives etc on hand 24 hrs to help with feeding or sleeping or anything really. It's nice - has spa baths and everything! Saw some tiny newborn babies, still can't quite believe I'll have one of those in a coule of weeks!

sarahloumadam · 20/10/2007 10:39

You must be v.relieved Anna! Did you have to have a tantrum to get rid? Your post-recovery place sounds lovely. I'm with you re the new-borns, I keep looking at baby photos on the birth announcement thread (bit of baby stalking ) but can't imagine that there is something like that curled up in my belly! Can't wait to meet him now.

ELB1 · 20/10/2007 11:09

Hello all

I have finished work!!! Hooray!!! It was such a tough week as I had two leaving do's and a presentation on my last day - ha ha a real struggle! They were all so lovely I couldn;t speak to say much more than thanks at my presentation which is not like me at all! I got lovely gifts too - just like you RG. A baby blanket, some cute clothes, a couple of soft toys, a crib mobile, a photo album and above all - something for me - £50 voucher for the local day spa (I can;t wait to be able to lie on my front and have a massage)!

I'm not really sure what to do with myself while I wait now - apart from perhaps having more time to post on MN. I am tempted by all the talk of Wispas to go and seek one out - it's been a long time.

36 weeks - getting fatter - and counting down!

capecodder · 20/10/2007 11:15

quick question- and would love feedback if you're willing to share.

has anyone had a go at perineal massage? i feel like i should give it a go but can barely reach 'down there' and have heard that it should be a bit painful to 'get the area ready?'

any advice or personal expereince would be greatly welcome.

silkcushion · 20/10/2007 12:01

Cape - I've tried it once. It felt ghastly but I guess it doesn't sting as much as giving birth is going to!!

RGPargy · 20/10/2007 12:23

Morning everyone!

Jarm - blimey, you sound like you were on a high last night!! As for raspberry leaf, i have mixed feelings about that. i've hard it can make you bleed heavier during/after birth (summat like that anyway) so i think i'm going to refrain from using it. DP is insistant we use the sex method tho!! Sounds like your girls' room is nearing completion. My nursery is still pretty much a bomb site atm, although DP bought loads of wood yesterday and is going to start making the wardrobe in there today. Unfortunately the room is so small and also on one of the walls is a sloping bit where the room sits over the stairs and the roof of the stairs is in the bedroom, IYSWIM () which means that to utilise the space in there, we are having to build a wardrobe OVER the sloping stairs bit coz a normal wardrobe would just about take up whatever room is left basically! Not sure if that makes sense, but I know what i'm talking about anyway lol.

Wispas - glad you enjoyed them Jarm. i've still got my two left that work gave me on Wednesday. I'm kinda waiting for a special occasion before i eat them. Maybe i'll eat them next week while watching DVDs or summat. I couldn't even find any in Asda so they do seem to be a thing of rarety round these parts!

Anna - so glad your house guests have gone! What a relief for you! PMSL at you dancing round the room lol!! Your Birthcare place sounds very nice!

OP posts:
RGPargy · 20/10/2007 12:27

I went off for an hour or two in the middle of my post and typically you've all posted lol.

ELB - Yay!!!!! Great feeling finishing work, isn't it?!!! Wow you got some lovely pressies!! I was also lost for words at my presentation - most unlike me too!

Cape - haven't tried perineal massage. Sounds a bit too gross for my liking (plus the difficulty of actually reaching down there), despite the fact that childbirth can be far more "gross" than a massage!! lol

KaylaBmummy · 20/10/2007 13:20

Hello All - Well Ladies Went in on Wednesday for monitoring and ended up having to be induced that lunch time. Gave birth naturally on Thursday at 16.09pm to a beautiful baby girl weighing 6lb 3oz. I have called her Katie and we are both home and well. I had an emergency c-section arranged but I begged could I try labour first and see how things went. They said they would let me labour for 24 hrs and then I would have to have it cos my heart rate and luckily she arrived safe and sound . I am on cloud nine at the moment ladies and shocked how quick it has happened after everything. I have been itching with excitment to get home and let you all know. After all the medical problems I have ended up with a natural delivery and I could not have asked for more. She is so beautiful with more hair than you can imagine.

Hope everything has been good since ive been away. I will catch up later after ive had a little sleep with whats been happening and hope that you are all well

RGPargy · 20/10/2007 13:26

KAYLA!!!!!!!!!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

So pleased for you!! How wonderful that you got your natural birth too!! Fan-bloody-tastic!!!

I guess Sparkly can go start that post-natal thread now!!
