Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

In a placents brain vein, today I went to another office to deliver something to a colleague. Left the thing in the car but didn't realise until I'd got to the desk. Walked back to car to get it and realised I'd left the car keys in the office...

lemonaidtreasonandplot · 02/11/2007 00:41

placenta, not placents, obviously...

EllieG · 02/11/2007 08:34

Elfsmummy - are you feeling better today? I meant to post yesterday but didn't get time to say please don't worry as I think is normal to have weird feelings when pg, and sure you will love your baby whatever x

rdk - how was your app? Did they find a heartbeat?

I have a HUGE bump too - have on some trousers today that used to be waaay too big and now they are done up with an elastic band. I am banning myself from chocolate and cake for a bit though, as think that may be a contributing factor.

smcg · 02/11/2007 10:20

I get comments about not having a bump, which is annoying. When I get one, I will sit on the people who annoyed me and squash them.

Molly, please let me know if you think Babylist are good. I just selfishly thought I'd spend that money on an Isabella Oliver dress instead.

ToastAddict · 02/11/2007 10:35

Firstly, thanks for all the advice about sleeping Still find sleeping on my front the comfiest, so making the most of it while I can still do it

Welcome to Ayomi and Scampmum and anyone else who is newish Congratulations!!

Elfsmummy - looks like everyone has already done their best to convince you that there is nothing wrong with what you are feeling - I agree with them all. Personally, as this is my first, I don't really mind what I have, but who knows how I may feel if/when I have a second. But I think that finding out at your scan will help you get used to the idea, and come to terms with it, rather than waiting til the birth.

rdk - how did you get on yesterday? Hope all is well.

TMP - hope you had a lovely birthday

smcg - great news about the amnio

Everyone else - hello!! It's nearly the weekend

rdk · 02/11/2007 10:44

EllieG · 02/11/2007 10:52

Yey rdk! It's great when your hear that isn't it?

smcg - LOL at you squashing people [hgrin]

Lorayn · 02/11/2007 11:15

Elfsmummy, just read your post about wanting a little girl.
I was exactly the same with DS, I didnt want a boy, what on earth would I want one of those for? I wanted another little girl!
I couldnt for the life of me imagine being mother to a son, I had these little images of me and my girls. It didnt work out that way LOL.
I even had an inkling it was going to be a boy through most of my pregnancy, and used to think to myself it was sods law, you know, desperate for a girl, would end up with a boy I didnt want.
I got a boy, and I am soooooooooooooo glad he wasnt a girl.
ASo try not to feel bad about it, and although everyone always says 'it'll be different once theyre here' it really will!

smcg · 02/11/2007 11:25

Not baby related but this website, www.beautyexpert.co.uk/eve.asp has 20% off with the code EVEBE20. You can get a start on your Christmas shopping!

Peachy · 02/11/2007 12:17

Chip, sadly Mum had several boys but all were stillborn at around 6 months - strange how the girls went straight through to full term really. Do wonder if thats why all our pregnancies (both sisters have all boys as well) have been relatively difficult, with 2 of us having HG and the other having a prem birth. But we shall never know!

Am having weird cravings LOL- birthday cake! Serisouly doubt Dh going to give in and indulge me on that one...

Peachy · 02/11/2007 12:19

rdk DS1's heartnbeat was really fast and he is DEFINTELY not a girl LOL!

scampmum · 02/11/2007 12:28

DD's really slow and she is definitely not a boy!

scampmum · 02/11/2007 12:29

er... missed out a crucial 'fetal heartbeat' there - she is not slow! naturally she's incredibly advanced like all of our offspring

scampmum · 02/11/2007 12:31

and on placenta brain, other day got nearly halfway to the station before I realised I had a towel on my head. Style.

Luckily (?!) I leave at around 6.40 so there weren't any witnesses...

smcg · 02/11/2007 12:38

Peachy, your poor mum, that must have been awful for her.

Scampmum, that's hilarious. I once went to work wearing one navy shoe and one black shoe ... and I didn't have the excuse of being pregnant!

smcg · 02/11/2007 12:41

Is this a skirt a bit pregnant Miss Marple?
www.seraphine.com/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=327&idCategory=23&akey=&curpage=

EllieG · 02/11/2007 13:19

Your only thinking that cos it's tweedy. It's a lovely shape not at all Miss Marple-ish.

smcg · 02/11/2007 13:22

Tx Ellie. I need skirts for work.

I have been stuck at home since Tuesday, getting very bored!

ToastAddict · 02/11/2007 13:25

Well, the model doesn't look like Miss Marple!! So I doubt you will either.... unless you have a blue rinse??

EllieG · 02/11/2007 13:26

Why are you at home? Are you poorly?

I'm very bored at work - have done naff all today. I think I used up all my working hard earlier in the week and I shouldn't really have to do anymore now.

scampmum · 02/11/2007 13:33

I am at home too, colleague just texted saying 'Are you still ill?'. Exactly what response did he expect? 'Not really, just skiving.'??

I think skirt is really nice. You have to look quite hard to see she's pregnant, don't you?

smcg · 02/11/2007 13:38

Ellie, it is Friday so it would be completely out of order for them to expect you to work!!

I'm not ill but I decided to take the rest of the week off after the amnio. I feel fine so I should have gone to work really. I was planning to go shopping but my dh keeps checking that I am staying in to rest (or more that I haven't gone out to spend money, ha ha).

None of the models look pregnant on Isabella Oliver either.

sagitta · 02/11/2007 13:39

Pg brain definutely affecting me. Left all the post on the car roof as I drove off to the nursery. Amazingly, someone picked it up off the road and took it back home for me!
Also left (our one and only) door key on car roof - a lorry driver stopped me about five miles from house.
And left keys in front door all night - three times this month!
Don't know if all this is to be blamed on pregnancy - but I think I will

Have a lovely weekend everyone
