Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PeachyCosmicExplosion · 06/11/2007 09:44

Molly dor emember this si my fourth AND I am due first of anyone (revised date to end March!) so please dont compare yourself with me and worry , your experience sounds perfectly normal.

VictorianSqualor · 06/11/2007 10:16

Molly, like peachy and soph said, it depends on all sorts of things, I'm another that has felt movements for a good while, but it is my 3rd.

smcg · 06/11/2007 10:51

Molly, I'm a day behind you and haven't felt anything either.

smcg · 06/11/2007 10:53

VictorianSqualor, I feel really stupid but I can't work out who you are??

VictorianSqualor · 06/11/2007 10:58

hahaha, I'll keep you guessing a bit longer

(it does say on my profile though )

TheMaskedPoster · 06/11/2007 10:59

EllieG - I demand you post your recipe on here somewhere (so I can shamelessly cook it myself) - it sounded wonderful

Ooohhhh - Half way Peachy - wow, how amazing (time is flying by!)

I have been eating loads of nuts (peanuts included) -and I did while pregnant with dd too. Also lots of cheese - but the common old Cheddar for me (although the odd bit of baked camenbert - to stop me being a stroppy cow! )

TheMaskedPoster · 06/11/2007 10:59

I know, I know!!!!

smcg · 06/11/2007 11:00

Aha, thanks VS!

VictorianSqualor · 06/11/2007 11:01

Well TheMaskedPoster you are gorgeous and witty so I would expect you to,

TheMaskedPoster · 06/11/2007 11:02
EllieG · 06/11/2007 11:36

Ah-ha so that's who you are! I have been wondering, but since no one asked I felt rude. Well that clears that one up.

Themaskedposter - many thanks, my ego is now GINORMOUS

Ahem:
Saute some onions and leeks. Add some bacon and fry til is brown. Add whatever other veg you like (I put carrots and spinach for hidden greens for child).
Saute some chopped chestnuts in butter and add to mix.
Add leftover roast chicken, stock and I put in the leftover gravy to use up and thicken a bit. Also added some creme freche as had some to make a little bit more saucy and richer.
Bung in dish and put puff or shortcrust pastry on
Bake.
Was yum.

Can't not eat chocolate any longer now, so am off to have some.

TheMaskedPoster · 06/11/2007 11:48

Thanks EllieG you're a star!- I will try that out next time I have some left over roast chicken (would have been perfect for this week - but have been munching on roast chicken sandwiches almost continuosly the last 2 days!)

lol at the chocolate, I think I will have to join you

EllieG · 06/11/2007 11:50

Have just seen thread about British women being shit cooks and am now paranoid that everyone else produces cordon bleu meals every night. Poor EllieG's family.

sagitta · 06/11/2007 11:55

If you count cordon bleu as falafel in pitta bread, or omlette and chips then, yes, sagitta's family is eating top quality nosh! (You can also count on there being beer/ wine and peanuts, while we are all 'fessing up to maternity crimes...I seem to have something of a passion for Abbot Ale at the moment)

Soph73 · 06/11/2007 12:02

Well, will have to cook for myself, DS & my mate tonight as DH was up at 4.15am to go on his field trip. Am also completely knackered now as couldn´t get back to sleep again Will probably be in bed about 10 mins after DS tonight That pie sounds scrum ... have just got some soup from the dining room, yummy

smcg · 06/11/2007 12:03

EllieG, that sounds delish.

Soph73 · 06/11/2007 12:05

I´m a brill cook (in my completely unbiased opinion )- although have to say that my family & sagittas seem to be in sync at the mo We´re going to have to start a new thread soon!

Mollyfloss · 06/11/2007 12:12

Thanks for the reassurance. I've read up a bit and it generally says that fetal movements for first timers are typically felt between 18 and 22 weeks.

Speaking of cooking I am going all out and going to attempt to cook a beef bourguignon for dinner (basically stew with red wine in it). The cool thing about stews is that they freeze very well so I cook double and when I'm not bothered to cook another day all I have to do is defrost.

EllieG · 06/11/2007 12:15

Good plan molly - I try to do that and does make you feel veyr smug when all you've got to do is defrost something AND it's a proper meal.
I am off to eat something, will take me some time to get out of door as my head is huge now

sagitta · 06/11/2007 12:29

If any of you bought the observer on sunday, there were some nigel slater recipe cards for quick easy dinners ... I'm planning on working my way through them as quick and easy sounds right up my street!

loisstella · 06/11/2007 12:51

I have a horrible cold and am fed up with hot lemon and honey!
Anybody got a good idea to get through this cold a bit quicker the 'nartural way'?

Piccalilli2 · 06/11/2007 13:18

EllieG, that pie sounds fab, I am also going to shamelessly steal your recipe and pass it off as my own as I reckon even my fussy 2 yr old might eat that.

I'm normally a reasonable cook but lately we have had a lot of takeaways as dd eats at nursery anyway and I really can't face cooking by the time she's in bed.

Peachy, very jealous of you being halfway, I have another week and a half to go and boy, is it going slowly.

V1KK1M · 06/11/2007 13:30

Loistella - Going back tot he confessions bit I had a nice glass of Hot Mulled wine and went to bed to sweat pout my cold - Worked for me!!

EllieG · 06/11/2007 13:34
