Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Mmmn, said I'm having a girl, which I'm pretty sure is true. But I did have morning sickness and headaches, the stopped. My hair was great, now its horrible. So what does that mean?

chipmonkeyPumpkinNorks · 01/11/2007 10:29

It varies fro 53% girl to 75% girl for me, depending on my humour when I take the test I think! Oh it's such a load of baloney really!

lemonaidtreasonandplot · 01/11/2007 10:34

My belly fundamentally looks like a belly, rather than a watermelon or a beachball. Not entirely sure what the difference would be, TBH.

EllieG · 01/11/2007 11:01

I think you only notice when you get a bit bigger. I still just look chubby rather than any identifiable shape.

smcg · 01/11/2007 11:08

Hi all,
hope you're all doing well.
I am having a girl according to that site but I am convinced it is a boy. I am very tempted to find out in advance though the surprise is nice.

I had an amnio on Tuesday and it was nowhere near as bad as I was expecting. I got the results just now and they are clear.

I'm off work today and tomorrow, off to find some cake now.

rainbowdays · 01/11/2007 11:12

What fun doing the questions.

First five questions 80% girl, but by the end 60% boy!!!!! As for the other old wives tales, I have a mix of both, so no clues there either. Now do I pay to get another scan done to find out?

scampmum · 01/11/2007 11:16

Hello all, newcomer to the thread, due 25th April. 1 beautiful DD 18 months (2nd birthday 6 days before EDD!). Had scan at 11 weeks and another at 12 weeks for nuchal, came back with 1:85 chance of DS owing to 2.4mm nuchal fold and tricuspid regurgitation, but we're not having any further tests as it wouldn't affect anything. Due for cardiac scan and standard abnormality scan on 7th Dec.

We live in SE London and plan to have the baby at KCH, same as DD.

SMCG, congrats on your amnio! Now you can relax and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy.

sagitta · 01/11/2007 11:18

Welcome scampmum!

scampmum · 01/11/2007 11:28

thank you! am off work today (horrible cold). Anyone else finding working full-time just too much? Went on holiday two weeks ago and came back feeling great, all full of second trimester energy (or so I thought...) but a week later I feel like death again and have to scrape myself off the sofa at 9 every night to go to bed. Thank god I can watch Spooks on replay! and the house is an absolute tip as I just don't have the energy to clean up.

Moan, moan, moan...

smcg · 01/11/2007 11:30

Thanks Scampmum. Welcome and congrats.

If I ever have a second baby, I don't think I'll bother with a nuchal scan.

Scorpio, thank you for posting those codes. I am going to make good use of them now!

Peachy · 01/11/2007 11:32

I ahted working whilst pregnant- and with ds3 got signed off early by MW. with ds2 I got let off on full pay from 20 weeks after boss (semi nutter in hbis seventies) made inapproprate comments and HR panicked- I never asked LOL but was handy!

Scampmum we ahd the same with our alst pregnancy, high risk but no further tests, the cardiac scan was very reassuring.

Elfsmummy · 01/11/2007 11:39

smcg great news about your amnio. I really hope that it wasn't too bad. If you've had an amnio they should be able to tell you the sex definatively by looking at the genetic profile - they did with my DD1. Although maybe they don't offer the option with you?

Welcome Scampmum. I've got an April 06 DD1 too. She doesn't have a clue what will hit her come next April I think!

We've jsu had our offer accepted on a new house so hope to move shortly after Christmas. Fingers crossed it'll all go smoothly and we'll be in well in time for April!

Take Care

TheMaskedPoster · 01/11/2007 11:49

Hi scampmum and welcome to the thread , hope your cold disappears soon - tis horrible being under the weather and not being really able to take much to combat it.

smcg - wonderful news about your amnio ... and have a piece of cake for me too (tis my birthday today )

All these old wives tales thingys keep coming up with a boy for me, and tbh I think it is a boy too .. ah well, only 22 or so weeks to go until we will find out ...

good news on your house offer being accepted Elfsmummy, fingers crossed here for you too.

Hope all else are well and enjoying the nice weather (well, it is nice here anyway)

x

sagitta · 01/11/2007 11:52

It's all good news on here today, isn't it? Happy birthday TMP

Peachy · 01/11/2007 11:53

TMP are you not asking at your scan? I wasn't going to bother but Dh is adamant and I dont care enough to warrant a debate on it. Ours is november 13th- and the 13th will be unlucky for one as we both want a different gender LOL!

EllieG · 01/11/2007 11:56

Welcome to thread scampmum x

I want to find out if is boy or girl and DSD is desparate to too, so I will. Have to wait til 30th Nov for next scan though...am going to burst!

scampmum · 01/11/2007 11:59

smcg - I've come to the same decision re the nuchal. It's funny as when I went to the GP he said, apropos of nothing: 'do you want a scan at 12 weeks because if you think you wouldn't terminate there's no point' and I thought that was incredibly strange and told everyone about it - of COURSE I want a scan, I want to see my baby!

In fact, though I would say we're on the whole remarkably unfazed (after the initial shock) by the test results, I found the Kings leaflet about the scan in my handbag the other day (floating in an embarrassingly diverse sea of crap) and noticed it said that you can opt not to be told if they find anything untoward - I think if there is a next time (let's see how I cope with two first - eek!) we will go for that option.

TheMaskedPoster · 01/11/2007 11:59

thank you sagitta

dd has been running around all morning singing(??) 'Happy Birthday' to me (whilst continuosly passing me my cards one after the other, again and again etc)- tis very endearing, although somewhat off putting when I am trying to MN

Peachy - no we aren't going to find out - I was umm-ing and ahh-ing as to whether to find out etc, but dh said it would be nice to be a surprise (which is fine by me - just means longer 'is it a boy/girl' etc)

EllieG · 01/11/2007 12:01

Happy birthday! [hgrin]

Have just looked at Crave maternity website - really nice but very pricey. Someone recommended verbaudet to me as being a cheaper place so might have a look there as I really want a nice outfit to wear for xmas outs when bigger as feeling a bit frumpy now.

Peachy · 01/11/2007 12:03

for TMP

smcg · 01/11/2007 12:05

Elfsmummy, fab news on your new house. The midwife said that they didn't check the sex (hospital is St Thomas'). I thought they did but never mind. I asked the doctor to tell me on Tuesday as she was doing the scan but my husband didn't want to know (grr). I will ask at the 20 week scan. I just felt a scratch as the needle was put in, it was strange seeing the needle on the ultrasound so I closed my eyes. My husband kept saying to the poor doctor, careful, the baby is moving towards the needle! She said she is used to it.

TMP, happy birthday!

smcg · 01/11/2007 12:06

EllieG, what about checking eBay for an Isabella Oliver dress? They are lovely, I think.

TheMaskedPoster · 01/11/2007 12:06

ah yes EllieG, vertbaudet - I just got a couple of bits from there as I think it is very reasonable

got this cardigan and these shorts

FAbbo!

TheMaskedPoster · 01/11/2007 12:08

(that is me eating the cake - thanks peachy )

smcg · 01/11/2007 12:09

Scampmum, I missed your message. I think if it wasn't my first baby, I would have been more clued in and not have stressed so much about the nuchal result. I didn't know at the time that they are often inaccurate. I'd still want a 12 week scan too though!
