Fingers crossed, TLSM. What time is your scan?

Am so jealous lorayn! Am not feeling anything yet, although looking very rounded.

Re maternity leave - I am keeping all my hols til March and going 4 weeks before due, so keep maternity leave for after. Soooo looking forward to it though already!

tlsm - thinking of you hon x sure will all be OK x

loisstella · 22/10/2007 12:25

Hi guys.
TLSM - good luck this afternoon (I don't know why - but I have a feeling you will be fine - so let's hope for that).

I don't feel anything at the moment - sitll no washing up.
when I sneeze tohugh (and yes I got a bloomin cold) I need to hold my bump/belly, because it feels like somehting inside me is taring up if I don't.

Like some of the others not feeling pregnant at all at the moment, but definitelly looking it! (wore the maternity jeans this weekend and today have an elastic band holding my trousers up)

Went to the baby fair this wekeend - went early (great tip Lemonaid) and picked up our pram - its goergeous. Phil & Ted - bright red!

scorpio1 · 22/10/2007 12:54

Good luck TLSM-im sure you will be ok

we are going pram shopping after xmas, im having a loola.

im not feeling big movements, just some bubbles and the odd big kick which still feels odd! i have mw on weds, and will hear heartbeat for first time!

Piccalilli2 · 22/10/2007 13:23

Good luck TLSM.

I've felt some movement, the occasional big kick and some fluttery movements. I really want to feel more though as I'm very paranoid at the moment that there might be something wrong.

Lemonaid - I know what you mean about mentally moving up your maternity leave date - I'm thinking that too every time my boss does something to annoy me (a regular occurrence). Unlike you though I go to work for a rest - it's chance to sit down and actualy finish a cup of tea every now and then!

Seems like planning to go 3 weeks before I'm due isn't too unreasonable then.

loisstella · 22/10/2007 13:48

Am I nuts to be looking into childcare already?
I'm definitelly going back to work - will take the 26 weeks leave but then back to the office.
I'm in London and I've heard such drama stories about getting your kid into a nursery/creche... but I do think its very early... Do you guys think I'm taking this a little too quickly?

lemonaid · 22/10/2007 13:54

Not nuts to be looking into childcare. Anyone due early April and wanting their DC to start at DS's nursery (admittedly the most oversubscribed in the area) aged 6 months would need to get their forms in now. Childminders I think would often not get booked up this early, but no harm in starting to look. Your area may be different, of course...

OP posts:
Lorayn · 22/10/2007 13:56

No, you arent nuts loisstella, just practical, surely anyone whos child is going to be in a nursery wants plenty of time to be able to choose the right one.

loisstella · 22/10/2007 14:14

that's another thing... the right one... there's absolutelly none in my area and its also terrible in the City - surely there's some high-flying lawyer/bankers mummies in the city? (I guess they all live in West London....with all the private schools and nannies)

Mama2Peanut · 22/10/2007 14:33

Hi ladies

New here - EDD 14 April 2008
Enjoying reading your posts but how do I join the list of members?

Considering booking a 20 week detailed anomaly scan with Babybond who I think can offer this in Livingston since we don't get on NHS. Anyone else been there?

Lorayn · 22/10/2007 14:38

Like that mama2peanut

Hello and welcome

lemonaid · 22/10/2007 14:48

Which scans do you where you are?

We went to Babybond at 27 weeks with DS and got a lovely DVD and some prints; I'd heartily recommend it from that point of view. But, in my area at least, they don't do the more "medical" aspects (although their staff are all trained and would tell you if there appeared to be an obvious problem).

If you want a proper anomaly scan with detailed measurements, etc., you'd probably be better off somewhere like this (if memory serves, there are other people on MN who've used them successfully).

Thelittlesoldiersmummy · 22/10/2007 15:06

Hi Guys well I am back and my bud looks fine thank goodness she/he has grow the right amount and everything looks fine! I had to go on my own that was the longest hours wait in history. They have no idea why I had a bleed and have said to try and take it easy so to stop carrying around a 2 stone 3 years old!

So panic over for the time being that must have been one of the worst weekends in my life!

I am now going to have a private scan at 16 weeks to make sure all is ok and also find out the baby's sex as I would like to know if she is Louise or he is Thomas

scorpio1 · 22/10/2007 15:14

yay TLSM, needed some good news!

ToastAddict · 22/10/2007 15:16

TLSM yay !

Lorayn · 22/10/2007 15:27

So pleased TLSM, I was thinking about you in the car yesterday and DP asked me what was wrong, lol.

Mama2Peanut · 22/10/2007 15:53

Hi Lemonaid, I'm in West Lothian but just about to move to Edinburgh. They do detailed anomaly scans at the BabyBond clinic which measures all the verterbrae etc though I'm off now checking out your link

Lorayn - thanks for that
and to Scorpio1 as well for explaining....was having a daft moment there!

Soph73 · 22/10/2007 15:59

Brilliant tlsm Welcome mama2peanut Well had my scan and beanie was jumping around all over the place and really strong heartbeat. Dr also said there´s absolutely no reason why I shouldn´t try for VBAC so am a very happy bunny at the moment Next scan in December at the hospital.

Soph73 · 22/10/2007 16:00

Regarding leave our Easter hols are 14th March - 31st but will probably come back to school for a few weeks then go on leave especially if they´re right about me not being due until beginning of May!!

Soph73 · 22/10/2007 16:02

toastaddict - trust me you won´t want to do anything by the time it comes round to your maternity leave as the tiredness sets in with a vengeance towards the end

lemonaid · 22/10/2007 16:11

ToastAddict -- By that point you won't be sleeping at all well at night, so you nap a lot. Also meet other pregnant women you've met through antenatal classes and moan about how your backs ache and feet are swollen. Last minute shopping. Possibly cleaning if you are one of those who gets a nesting instinct (I never did, personally).

During maternity leave with DS we went out a lot in the evenings (to plays and films) knowing we weren't going to get a chance for a while. This also added to the tiredness and hence the naps.
