The last thread seems a bit full so I thought perhaps it is time to start a new one

CONGRATULATIONS Hazelnut - Anna Caitlin is lovley name.... you must be so glad (and relieved ) to be home! I hope you are not too sore and that everything goes as smoothly as is humanly possible from now on!
I am so looking forward to seeing what my baby looks like - I am not a very patient person and these last few weeks seem to be going SO SLOWLY!!!
Congrats again...

Hazellnut · 30/01/2005 21:47

Thanks everyone -I must say it is strange not to be pregnant anymore at a time when I thought I'd be wishing time away too ! I guess in that way I'm quite lucky with the early arrival !

Anna is doing well, feeding quite well (although hasn't managed to master breastfeeding as she is too little but seems to be thriving nonetheless). Also seems to enjoy the early hours of the morning which is a bit tiring but to be expected I guess !!

Thinking of you all in these last stages and look forward to hearing your news soon. I will start a discussion on the postnatal club and wait patiently for you all to come and join.

futurity · 30/01/2005 21:53

Congratulations Hazellnut on your little girl..love the name and hope she (and you) are doing well despite her surprising early arrival!Look forward to joining you in postnatal club..no idea when that will be as due between 14th and 21st but already have huge baby inside me apparentely! Hospital appointment on Tuesday will hopefully give me more clues!

bunjies · 31/01/2005 11:02

Wow Hazellnut congratulations and welcome to your little girl. 3 weeks today to go for me. Had a midwife check last week and baby is head down but not yet engaged. Apparantly this is common for subsequent pregnancies - well that's what she told me anyway and she didn't seem undul concerned about it. All I need to worry about are the stingy stabbing pains I get when db's head keeps bashing against my pelvis as it tries to engage. Weird to think I won't need to see the midwife again until 41 weeks (unless db arrives beforehand). I think I've only seen the midwife about 4 times since becoming pregnant. Tried my new birth pool out yesterday and it's fab. Thoroughly recommend inflatable pools. Wish I could stay in it for the next 3 weeks!

Nik72 · 31/01/2005 16:08

Many congratulations Hazellnut & so glad Anna arrived safely. Thought I was about to go last night with 3 hours of contractions but it all petered out. At least work is finished thank goodness. Wonder who'll be next?

jolly4 · 01/02/2005 09:46

yes i know what you mean too ready just took ds too school then an hour long canal walk with dogs too help gravity gettin so impatient now as we probly all are x

Angeliz · 01/02/2005 14:01

Just found out that dd has a School play, held in a church, in which she's a bridesmaid next Wednesday when i see the Obstetrician!!!

I've managed to move my Appointment by 20 minutes but i'll still have to see her walk down the aisle and fly like a blue arsed fly to the hospital!!!

Really don't want her to feel pushed out at the moment!!

futurity · 01/02/2005 19:00

Difficult one Angeliz ...i am desperatly trying to keep DS life "normal" at the moment despite the baby chaos.

I found out today that I am busy next Tuesday afternoon...having my baby!

Went to see the consultant this afternoon and due to large baby and issues with the uterus contractions in my last labour (which i wasn't aware of!) I have been advised that not a good idea to have a natural birth as my uterus may explode (his words..compared it to a avocardo..very surreal!).

So I have been booked in for next Tuesday afternoon ..very weird to be "booked in" to have baby ..he was like "which would be better..Tuesday or Wednesday for you!?"

Thats it really..no more raspberry leaf for me (horray!) but now worrying about being chopped up again. Last time it just happened so no time to
think about it but now i have a week to panic..unless i go into labour before then which DH is now worrying about! Told him he has to look
after me lots so that doesn't happen!! :-)

Angeliz · 01/02/2005 19:18

Oh how exciting!!!
You don't sound thrilled OR upset so i'm taking it you're still in shock.!!
How incredibly exciting though, you're going to meet your baby!!!

Know what you mean about trying to keep life normal, i really feel for dd at the moment as all anybody EVER asks about now is the bump and before it was laways her.
Bless her, she's taking it all in her stride so far.

Still, can't beleive how excited i am for you!!

laa · 01/02/2005 19:27

I can't believe that the time has come for all these babies to be born. Congratulations Hazellnut - sounds like quite a tricky time but with a fantastic result. Love the name too. Good luck Futurity next wk. too - very exciting news!! I am now a (sort of ) lady of leisure having finally finished DIYing.. I saw the midwife last wk. who isn't convinced this bnaby will be as big as the other 2 - here's hoping - but my bump does feel smaller. Apparently it's 3/5 engaged, which I got quite excited about, until I remembered that DD was the same at 35 wks and was a wk. overdue. I think I'm starting to lose my mind. Left my wallet on top of the car at IKEA and it flew into the central reservation on a busy A rd. leading to the M!! So I pulled into the cones and sprinted down the highway like a lunatic to get it. I was upset about the thought of losing my 2 photos of the children inside it! Anyway, peopl;e stopped and helped out and were prob. mesmerised at the sight of this heavily pregnant woman bouncing down a major road in the rush hour!!

futurity · 01/02/2005 21:21

Dont know how i feel really Angeliz..pleased that the decision was taken out of my hands (had been worrying since day 1 about whether or not i would need/want another c-section). I suppose I am in shock a bit at realising that on February 8th I will have my baby....EEK! How did that happen!! I plod along for months being pregnant and now..next week..I am having him!! Bizarre!!

Hello thought I'd join in here as although was due 28th Jan I am still very much with-bump.....had a membrane sweep yesterday which hasn't done anything so far (midwife said didn't she couldn't do it properly anyway cos cervix gone on holiday or something), so now booked in for induction next Thursday night....

mememum · 03/02/2005 14:57

Hi everyone! I'm a newbie to mums net and my second baby is due on the 22nd of Feb! first baby is now 19 months old and I'm desperately trying to prepare her for whats coming up!! Any mums got tips for preparing a little one under 2?? Feeling anxious at the moment and bit lonely. None of my friends have babys so have no one to have bounce ideas off! Anyway enough of my anxiety and hope everyone is having a good day - well as much as you can when feeling like a bloated whale and necking bottles of gaviscon!

laa · 05/02/2005 20:01

Hi mememum and welcome! My DS was 22 mos. when we had DD and we had a book by Giles Andreae called 'There's a House inside my mummy'. He really liked it. Someone has lent us a good Usbourne one too. My sister's DD was 19mos when she had her DS and I'm not personally sure how much you can prepare them at that age. My DS remained utterly oblivious to the fact that he had a baby sister for some time, prefering to play withhis Thomas trains!!

Angeliz · 06/02/2005 15:40

getting close futurity

OOh tipex, maybe you'll be next????
Saying that, i've had a few cramps, think it's just getting me ready for the real thing.
I've booked a Birthday party for dd at a soft play area 2 days before i'm due!!!

So if it comes now that's o.k otherwise i'll have to keep it in!
Tipex, i scrolled down but can't find it, when are you due??
If i get time later i'll try to do us in a list.

futurity · 06/02/2005 21:45

Feeling quite chilled at the moment..hope this feeling lasts! Been running around like a mad thing (so much for resting!) getting house and childcare stuff sorted and aside from stocking up the fridge I think I am almost there. Weird feeling the baby in my tummy and thinking that soon he will be out and a whole new phase of our lives will start..really hope that DS (aged 3) doesn't freak out too much but am realising that I am not the first mother in the world to have more than one child so we should all muddle through..fingers crossed !!

starlover · 06/02/2005 21:58

ah ha! I have followed batlady here as well!
I was due on 25th Jan, and still waiting!
getting incredibly jealous because all the jan babies have been born i think, and now some of the february ones are gonna come before mine!

Seeing consultant tomorrow re: induction so hopefully will have a baby in the next few days!
