The last thread seems a bit full so I thought perhaps it is time to start a new one

Any luck with the notes??? So sorry about your scan pictures.
I have spent yesterday recovering from a night of panic as baby (who has otherwise been very active) decided not to kick for a good few hours on sat night/sunday am... I was up a 5am doing 'bum in the air' yoga positions in an effort to get him to budge. We were 5mins away from my 'that's it we're going to hospital' deadline, when he finally gave us a kick. DP - has been brilliant - coping with my hysterical tears - even making pre-dawn hot chocolate! Spent most of yesterday on the sofa - feeling relieved but very teary while enjoying every kick!
what a hormonal rollercoaster!

Hazellnut · 01/11/2004 13:53

Thanks for the sympathy !! Will have another search tonight but as DH had to virtually pin me to the sofa last night to stop me looking everywhere I'd looked ten times don't think its likely they will make an appearance ! Keep hoping that i have truly lost my marbles and I put them away somewhere 'safe' that I can't think of at the moment but think it is a bit clutching at straws !! On a slightly positive note I have another scan on friday (as db was on the small side at 22 weeks) so am hopefully going to be able to get some more pictures then providing I am not punished for my stupidity !

Emandbump - Glad db kicked in a the crucial moment - I keep having moments like that... It seems like there is always something to worry about !!

Staceyk · 02/11/2004 19:30

Hello all, been away for a few weeks, as you may remember my lovely American bosses decided to sack me to avoid maternity pay! Finally got on line at home.
DH felt baby kick for first time last night which was lovely for the both of us, have lots of movements, but not so many obivous kicks.
Still doing quiet well health wise although I have suffered from Carpal tunnel syndrome for the last 3 weeks, which is very very painful, so wearing very attractive wrist splints in bed, DH insists on singing the Rocky theme tune every night! We went to the baby show at Olympia (London) and ordered our pram, a Greco travel system, with the ability to lay down facing me, which is a very rare find, with car seat etc, and all for £250 so really pleased, also got lovely moses basket £25, and Mamas & papas bouncy chair for £30 and tonnes and tonnes of freebies.
My boss has now received all the tribunal documents from the tribunal offices, and she has passed to big boss in the States they have 28 days to reply, have since heard they are closing the UK office so think hardly unlikely I will get anything, but I live in hope.
Hows everyone else doing?
24 weeks this Thursday

Angeliz · 02/11/2004 20:42

StaceyK LOL at your dp, that really just made me giggle!!! Hope you're feeling better soon.
Hope evryone is well, i'm fine and this baby seems to be awake at all hours, (she had hiccups last night i think while i was reading in bed and i kept getting a jerking sensation-felt like near my bowels -which was REALLY wierd!!!!).
Still have bloody awful heartburn all the time but apart from that all is well+

Angeliz · 02/11/2004 20:43

emandbump, glad all is well!!!

Angeliz..I remember hicups from last time..I was so worried about the strange movements that I asked the midwife and she told me the baby was hicupping..I felt really silly for worrying! Don't think he has had them this time..although he moves alot more than DS did I am preparing myself for an active baby!

Went to the doctors this morning to get a mole removed from my back (not dodgy..just big and floppy!) and the doctor made a comment like "oh..you can't have long to go now can you?!" whilst looking at my bump. I said.."errr..YES..I am 25 weeks". He laughed and said "is it twins!". I had my bump measured last week my midwife and it is the "right" size for my dates but now feel like a big elephant after the doctors comments!!

Hazellnut · 09/11/2004 15:48

Hi All - Seems a bit quiet on Feb thread so thought I'd let you know that I had my first antenatal class this morning which makes it all seem scarily imminent !!!

Also had another scan on friday just gone which showed db still lagging behind on the growth stakes but they seem quite happy that it is genetics. Just need to see what the mw says next time I see her. They also did another picture so at least I have replaced that !

fufmum · 09/11/2004 15:52

Hi just popped over from Due Jan thread and saw your post Hazellnut. OMG you already started classes, mine don't start for another 3 weeks and i'm further on than you, hmmmm. Are you paying for yours and how many do you have. Mine at free at hospital and i only have 4, I was told it was best to have them later so the stuff stays fresh in your mind.

Hazellnut · 09/11/2004 16:13

Fufmum - These are the free NHS hospital ones and I get 4 too but I was a bit concerned I would forget everything by the time I was due but was in a class of people around the same time (end of Jan/beginning of feb - although there was one lady due in March !).

However, they did say that they are cancelling antenatal classes cos their budget won't stretch that far so only some of november's are going ahead and they may be the last ones until April ! So, guess it is a good thing I am doing them now....

Angeliz · 10/11/2004 11:30

hello all,
futurity, nice diplomatic doc for a change then . My mam keeps telling me how enormous my bum is this time! Nice!!

Hope evryone is well.
I called the midwife this morn and asked about antenatal classes and she said she'll book me in to the January ones so lets hope i don't pop before then!!!!! I really want to refreesh my memory and see if anythings changed much.
My bump is fine, dp's brother and sis in law are coming to stay tonight for 3 days so no doubt they'll all be getting pleasantly tipsy while i sip my alcohol free becks!!!(Not that i don't have the odd glass of wine but i pay all night with heartburn when i do!!!)

Tipex, i often feel inside kicks and i always just assume that the baby is facing backwards!
(Someone may correct me though!).
It's really wierd when they kick inwards, like someone poking around inside!!

ooh sorry, wasn't ignoring you just washing up!
I don't actually feel as many when it's facing that way and have to admit, i have worried the odd time over the past few days when i haven't felt it moving for a few hours.
I think it's normal though as they take up more room and move less vigorously.

(It's still awake every night at 4 a.m though!!!!!)

Angeliz · 11/11/2004 22:11

The hiccups is the wierdest sensation!
It seems so real to think of it hiccuping!!!

LittleNemo · 12/11/2004 19:35

Hi all. So glad I popped in - I've not even got round to organising my ante-natal classes yet. Better get on with it soon. I've heard that my local NHS parenting classes are a waste of time - just hope I've not left it too late to book on a NCT course. This is my 1st and feel I need all the help I can get!

popsycal · 12/11/2004 19:36

just popping in from the march thread. due 3rd march but pretty sure that I will be induced before that!

Hows everyone doing?

bradley · 15/11/2004 12:15

Hi, I'm due on 9 Feb! It's my first! All becoming a bit real after watching very dodgy births on the living channel! Who invented Sky? Must have been a man, trying to put women off having children I reckon!

mckenzie · 15/11/2004 12:45

welcome bradley.
Brave of you to watch those Sky shows. I steered well clear when pregnant with no 1 but now i'm pregnant with no 2, due feb 27, it doens't bother me too much.
Are you having a good pregnancy?

bradley · 15/11/2004 13:00

Getting the infamous back ache now, but all's been well!I'm 28 wks now and I'm just starting to put on weight rapidly (having only put on half a stone till now) Lucky me! Well - was

Momof2 · 15/11/2004 14:15

Bradley - really feel for you about the back ache - I went to the Physio on Friday - the midwife referred me at my last appt - am now wearing a lovely tubi grip (so wanted to put Tubby Grip ) and have been given exercises to do. Have to lose my very expensive swivel chair for a bog standard regular 4 legged one (sigh) but at least the pain will go soon - well I hope it will. Anyhow on the good side I am not supposed to vacuum, iron, push a shopping trolley HOOORRRRRAAYY. DP is so pleased! (Mind you he usually does the vacuuming)

Hello all - haven't looked in for a while...I've just been to see my community midwife for the first time tonight and it was a bit odd - so I thought I'd see how everyone else was getting on. I got told off for not having been to antenatal classes yet - so must get that sorted, hmmm.
the NHS classes are in the middle of the day which means missing work - is anyone here going to NCT classes? Would they reccomend???

Oh - and I am also awake at 4am every morning with baby kicking/swirling and hiccupping. I must admit that despite the disturbance - I'm enjoying it... keep thinking I just ought to settle in and get used to it (aren't 4am feeds pretty typical???)

Nik72 · 22/11/2004 17:20

I've applied for NCT classes but they can only fit me on a course that finishes the day before I'm due....might be a bit of a waste if I go early! Anyone else getting lots of rib pain? My Miriam Stoppard book said it was normal but it's a bit sore - am starting to wonder if things are just going to get more & more uncomfortable from now on or whether the body kind of adapts to it all.
