The last thread seems a bit full so I thought perhaps it is time to start a new one

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

bunjies, any news?????????

I was tidying dd's room with her at 5.30 and had 2, what felt like proper contractions 15 minutes apart. Quite painful and made me stop and take notice.
Then...........nothing!!!!!!
My mam is on red alert as with dd i had a cramp in the morning then jsut odd ones all day before having her.

We'll see.
In a way it would be best if baby waited till it's due date now as i have dd's Birthday party booked for next Saturday and she has a cinema outing tomorrow with 3 little freinds
(Can't beleive i am thinking for it to stay in now!!!!!!)

Tipex, i feel the same.
It was only when i got the pain i thought, OHNOW i remember

Just spoke to my mam and she has been organising best time for baby to arrive, (she'd prefer not the middle of the night so she can be there and my sisiter doesn't have to get up then!!!! )
I am excited but pretty convinced it was just a tester as nothing has happened since.

I am like you with the cleaning. I could go all night!!

pupuce · 14/02/2005 09:01

Is Bunjies still around ? And Angeliz?

Angeliz · 14/02/2005 18:00

I'm still here pupuce

Nothing else happened and i've been out with dd and her little freinds all day. (cinema and Wacky Warehouse and lunch- phew- what an active social life nursery gives you!!!)

I have had a few cramps but nothing like those two yesterday. I think it was just natures way of reminding me of the pain.

laa · 15/02/2005 13:35

Big congrats to you Jolly4 and to Futurity. Hope you are both recovering well from your sections and enjoying the new babies!
It's my due date today, but no signs of any baby. In fact, after wks. of period pains etc., it's all gone rather quiet. I'm rubbing jasmine oil into my bump in an attempt to kick start contractions and labour but the only result is that I smell quite nice!
Hope you are ok Bunjies. Didn't realise castor oil worked!? And Jolly 4 what is your DD's name? Love Samuel, Futurity - slightly biassed as it's my DS's name!
Take care everyone.

Angeliz · 15/02/2005 13:58

jolly4, HUGE Congratulations
Welcome to you baby girl+++++++++
It's so exciting now there are announcements.

Nik72 · 15/02/2005 14:42

Many congratulations Jolly4 - 10lb10! Now that's a good weight!
I'm getting lots of tightenings & pains at night too but they've been happening for a while now so have stopped getting excited and am trying to reconcile myself to a long haul! Am enjoying being off work so much it almost makes up for carrying this wretched bump around the place. Have filled the freezer, house is spotless, hair is cut...what do I do next?

Hazellnut · 15/02/2005 16:37

Congrats Jolly4 - your dd must have got my dd's share of the pounds - . Look forward to seeing yuou on the postnatal board.

jolly4 · 16/02/2005 12:37

sorry i think it was hazelnut that had section i know what you mean hazelnut bout havin some of your wieght 4lb 9 thats dainty bet your bundle is so cute

Hazellnut · 16/02/2005 13:26

Actually Jolly4 I think we've all had sections so far ! must be a trend. To be honest, apart from curiosity (wondering what it might be like to have a natural birth) I was fine about having a section. I think cos it was an emergency one it was relief to finally get on with it and get dd out ! More friends of mine have had emergency sections than natural births so I was half expecting it. My main problem with a section is the recovery time afterwards - I feel great, but am frustrated by not being able to drive etc. It will be 4 weeks on Monday so am hoping to persuade my doctor to let me as my insurance company says its up to my doctor !

laa · 16/02/2005 16:54

Hi again. Now one day overdue and I'm a bit fed up. I think that I need to give birth before I clean the house to death. For some reason I can't get enough of Jif - fing everything. I think it's the grainy texture makes me feel like I've scrubbed stuff clean. I've started putting the dishcloths in Mil;tons too to clean them. I'm going to end up with OCD by the time I go into labour! At least Desperate Housewives is on tonight. Eventually got round last night to working out the Tens machine. More advanced looking than last one so hopefully more useful. DH did almost electrocute me though last time. He put the batteries in the wrong way round, turned it to max., realised his mistake, re-inserted the batteries....and I nearly hit the ceiling with the shock I got!! Any tips for natural birth induction gratefully received!

Angeliz · 16/02/2005 18:28

LOL Laa (at the tens machine!)

DD had another laydate today at freinds house and i am bloody knackered. I MUST try to take it easy till Saturday as i'm really starting to fret about missing her party
Keep your fingers crossed that baby stays put till Sunday.
(Mind you, according to obstetrician i'm not due till 28th!!!)

Feel enormous and tired!
Still excited though!!!

Angeliz · 16/02/2005 18:32

PPPP PLAYDATE!!!!

Angeliz · 16/02/2005 18:33

Getting a little nervous about giving birth again but looking forward ti it more............

bunjies · 16/02/2005 19:31

Sorry haven't been in touch as have HAD A BABY . She was born on Sunday night (1 week early) at 11.58pm (couldn't make it til Valentines Day) and weighed in at 6lbs 9oz and is lovely. We have called her Sasha but haven't decided on a middle name as yet. As I feared I didn't get my home water birth due to the raised blood pressure which had stubbornly refused to go down all weekend so had her in hospital. However, had a very supportive midwife who was aware of my fear of being induced and kept things very low key. Had her on the floor whilst on all fours with gas and air. Actual labour was very quick at 2 hours, going from 5cms dilated to birth in 53mins after having my waters broken! Subsequently had a minor tear but no stitches required. We're all doing ok although my nipples feel like they've been through a mangle and back .

popsycal · 16/02/2005 19:34

just popping in from the march thread to lurk and see who is still left....who know - I may be intruding on this thread if my BP doesnt behave
good luck ladies
