For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

greedygreedyguzzler · 05/10/2007 14:38

i am more pissed off than ever!!! my midwife phoned in sick and she was meant to be giving me my sweep this afternoon!!! CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!!

hope j2o is ok.any news??!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 05/10/2007 14:38

love;y birth story ejt....glad it all worked out well for you in the end

muppetgirl · 05/10/2007 15:39

aw greedy, sorry you don't get the sweep...
Clean those stairs, bottom cupboards and shower trays

Just picked up Ollie from nursery and he promptly fell asleep in the car as soon as we left the car park! Had to lift him upstairs to the living room sofa -ouch, the bump did not like that!!

We are going to spend the weekend cleaning the house as it looks like a bomb site atm, lo's room needs sorting and I need to wash all his clothes through. Have decieded the chest of drawers in the living room will do Henry (we origionally bought it for Ollie from the antiques place in Hungerford) so at least I have something to put his clothes in!

I need to organise a carpet cleaner as cream carpets are no longer cream and we are planning to keep the dogs downstairs whilst lo is stil little.

Is anyone due at all around late OCT? or is it really just me

alicet · 05/10/2007 15:53

Greedy - so are you going to attempt the willy sweep again then?

Muppet - think Inzi and Choc are both due late Oct - you won't be on your own honey!!!

Well my boobs are officially ENORMOUS!!! They radiate so much heat and are so engorged its a job keeping Adam awake while he's feeding. Can't remember how long they take to settle but they weren't this bad last time! Oh well...

Hoping he wakes soon for a feed as really want a bit of kip before having to collect Sam from nursery. He has been a bit funny with me the last couple of weeks very much preferring to be with his daddy so I really want to be there to go and get him this evening. He does this sometimes - its me for a few days then dh but just want him to know that I still love him and have time for him despite Adam. This am he was a bit upset when I was cuddling Adam when he came to say bye bye and despite me putting Adam down and saying 'Oh I need to put Adam down now so I can have a lovely cuddle with my big special boy!' he took a bit of a swipe at him. I guess its to be expected - his little world has been turned upside down really. Sure we'll get through it though!! Any tips much appreciated as to how I can help this....

WinnieThePooh · 05/10/2007 17:01

Evening everyone,

I am still here. I wish this LO would get a move on. Mum did the school runs today and everyone was asking if I had gone into hospital.

Thanks Inzi for correcting me. There was no name on the text and it was not from the number I have for her. Have you heard any more from her? I hope everything is ok.

May not be on again tonight sop have a good evening and weekend everyone.

Hi all

I'll still be here Muppet! due 31 Oct. Am sure Inzi will have graduated by then though.

Alice, I don't have any advice, but I was 20 months when my brother was born and if I was initially put out then I must have got over it fast because it was never a problem. I reckon you just cut him more slack than usual, give him lots of cuddles with you and with Adam and try as best you can to give him treats - he can be spoilt for a bit!

I'm in a stress because my inlaws have sent an email telling us they're flying the whole family up in November to see the baby, and are stating that they'll be here 'only for one afternoon and night' but that we can have a lovely family time in our house with them. Our house is a tiny 3 bed terrace and our dining table only seats 4 - we cant even feed them all. It's three weeks after my due date but I'm sure I'm going to go over and if I do and am induced then lo will be less than a week old and they want dinner and entertaining! Plus they're bringing 2 toddlers. I know they will want to see lo but couldnt they have come without the entourage first? And also they've spent 500 quid on nonrefundable flights and told us that. So we can't even get them to postpone if necessary. I don't know why they didn't ask if it was okay first. It isn't. The whole thought is stressing me out - they're very difficult guests at the best of times and that may well not be.

Moan moan moan!

Going to go and have some orange juice now and calm down - lo doesnt like it when I get upset!

Hope you're all okay - Greedy got my fingers crossed you're tonight!!!

ejt1764 · 05/10/2007 18:32

Choc - am on your behalf ... your dh is going to have to get stern ... and point out the facts as you've just laid them down ...

yes perhaps to them coming, but no way can they stay - you just won't cope - perhaps giving them the addresses of a couple of local b&bs?

go j20!

unicorn · 05/10/2007 18:35

Choc..
Send them an email with suggested dates, and travelodge accomodation.
There is no way they should inflict themselves on you like that- really rude, insensitive and just ignorant.

Best of luck J20 and anyone else imminent!

17 oct here... but, babe is low, and felt strong hicks/or something last night... so who knows...??
Do not want to be induced though... so a couple more reflexology sessions are in order I think.
NB they really helped the puffiness/swelling... almost look normal now (almost!)

xx

emj23 · 05/10/2007 18:59

Hi all. I was offered a sweep today (40+5) but MW said that since I had no signs of labour it was not likely to do anything and would probably hurt, so I decided not to have it. I have another appointment for Sunday when I will be 41 weeks but baby's head has not engaged yet and if it still hasn't by then, I won't be allowed the sweep then either in case the cord comes out first or something. I will just be given a date for induction sometime after Wednesday. Feeling very and fed up, I want it to happen on its own!

I hope everyone else is fine.

greedygreedyguzzler · 05/10/2007 22:26

alicet - your ds1 is quite young isn't he? myds was only 17 months when dd was born and had a few wobbly moments at frist but now they get on SO well it melts my heart to watch them. i am so so pleased we had them close together and they seem to get on a lot better than most of my friends kids who have a bigger gap!! (which worries me about this baby now cos the gapp is bigger this time) i am sure as long as you carry on doing what you are doing by giving him lots of attention he will adapt really quickly!

choc - its not what you want is it? inlaws coming to stay straight after. try not to get too stressed about it ( says me who had a huge arguement with my dhs brother and wife when they came to visit after ds was born......) there is no point in getting stressed now, save your energies for your ickle one in your tummy!! thanks for crossing your fingers for me for tonight............can tsee it happening though!!! the further overdue i go, the more i think its not going to happen at all.....guess it has to sometime!

emj23 - lets be miserable and fat and overdue together!!! if its any consolation (which i know it isnt!!) as soon as i got my induction date with ds i went into labour naturally so only ended up 8 days over! do you know how long they leave you before induction? its 12 days for me, so i guess thats next friday at the latest........................at least i should have my lo within the next week!!!!

Morning all

My first ever 'first post of the day'!!!! Really not like me to be up early on a Saturday, but I forgot to turn the alarm off, and have painful legs. Will no doubt be back in bed later !

Huge Congratulations MrsFish and J20!!!

Well done Inzi for doing the list update, was thinking of doing it myself, but you've saved me the trouble .

I'm still here Choc and with no signs of baby coming out any time soon. Trouble is, as I'm not at work now I don't have much chance to come on-line, so I'm not posting that much, but I'm trying to get on at least once a day. I can't believe your in-laws and family would invite themselves over like that so soon after LO arrives. You must be tamping (does that mean anything outside Wales, I'm never sure?). If they're expecting catering, just don't do it, or send DH out to buy ready-made stuff.

It's getting to the stage now where we can't call people on the phone without being able to detect a slight disappointment when the first thing we say isn't 'I've had the baby' isn't it?! I noticed when I called my parents last night. Ah well. They, like us, well just have to wait. I just wish it wasn't so uncomfortable. I've become really immobile and I hate it. I'm really hoping this LO isn't 10 days late like Eve was. In fact i'm really hoping he/she isn't late at all.

Like you Inzi, I had my hair cut yesterday, must be a pre-birth need - that's how I justified the expense anyway! I'm really pleased with it as I'd started to look like Nana Mouskouri or just about anyone circa 1975! Now have lovely bouncy layers and keep flicking head about in irritating shampoo ad way!

I'm gonna try and do a bit of work before everyone else gets up (I am now on leave, but still haven't quite finished that report I've been failing to focus on for weeks now!).

Take care all, A x

greedygreedyguzzler · 06/10/2007 08:41

CONGRATS J2O well done girl!!!!!......i wont make any comments about you beating me to it as well!...hope you have a speedy recovery.

morning everyone else............well.........still no baby greedy this end! slept surprisingly well though.....apart from my dd waking up coughing cos of her cold and ds having nightmares about the 'numbertaker' from the numberjacks!!!.......got a good mind to complain to cbeebies showing scary things like that on TV!!!

so lets hope today is the day for those of us who want it to be!!

ChocolateHobnob · 06/10/2007 09:32

Yay! Congratulations J20. Poor you, it sounds like a horrible labour, but I'm looking forward to seeing pics of beautiful baby Shannon (nice name again!).

Greedy, Emj, plan something you really really want to do on Monday. Then chances are it'll happen on Sunday...

I've decided to not think about inlaws for now. They aren't ever easy and when I cry it makes lo upset (well it makes lo twitch!) and so I need to be zen for lo. My method of being zen for today is to go to the nearby retail park, finish buying stuff for hospital bag (Inzi will be proud) and have a cookie in Starbucks in Borders (oh and buy myself lots of books...). Then we're going to lunch at some friends whose baby boy was born in July - haven't seen him since early August so he'll have changed unrecognisably!

I'm starting to feel very fat. Have hair appt for Thursday but am going to postpone it, because I'll be 37 weeks then and if lo goes overdue by 2 weeks then my hair'll already be a disaster when lo is just a week old, and who knows when I'll get chance for repair work!

Anyway have a good Sat all and I'm willing action for Greedy, Emj and anyone else dying to see their lo this weekend!

nellieloula · 06/10/2007 09:57

congratulations J20 - wonderful news. Hope you're managing to get some well deserved rest.
and choc, feeling for you on the inlaws front. mad that at the one point you really don't need any family stress, they always seem to pile it on!
hope everyone else is ok and manages to have a not too uncomfortable day.

muppetgirl · 06/10/2007 10:07

Congratulations J20!!

Sorry to hear you had a rough time but hopefully shannon will have more than made up for it

I was woken with pains last night -very low period type pains and when I tried to stand up to go the loo I had excruciating pains across the front under my bump that made me sit back down and wait till they'd gone.

...absolutely fine now

Sorting out hospital bag today and lo's room and clothes as are really trying to rest when Ollie is at nursery.

Have a good morning speak later
emma

Muppetgirl, I had that last night too. Went from thinking Oh good to oh shit to oh! It's annoying isn't it. I was only due yesterday but already feel I am irritating people by not having produced this baby yet!
Congratulations to J2O. Sounds like hard work but it all melts away when you're looking at your gorgeous baby. Can't wait!
DH has been a star today. Went food shopping earlier and has now taken DD up the park.
Have a nice weekend everyone.
WTP I have emailed you my mobile number-sorry I didn't do so before.

Congratulations J20! Sorry to hear it was so difficult but well done on baby Shannon (love the name!).
Thank you for the list Inzi - was wondering how many of us were left and it looks like 50 / 50 doesn't it?
My braxton Hicks are getting quite strong (but only in the evening and night - seems this lo is determined to keep me up at night from the very start!) and have been getting niggly period type pains on and off. Makes me feel grumpy and knackered but not much else .
Hope everyone else is well, wonder if we'll have another baby by the end of the weekend?
x
