For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

right i'm logging off now, going to get mad at my jigsaw then go to bed.

mrsfish hope all goes well tommorrow and look forward to hearing about lo, will be thinking of you

night all

HelloMama · 04/10/2007 21:08

hey all. I posted very briefly at the start of my pregnancy but not much since - I'm due on 17 October. Also have a ds aged 3.2.

MrsFish at your news today - no wonder you're in a panic because even though I keep going on and on about wanting to know when this baby is going to arrive, if someone actually told me the day and time I would freak! Good luck with everything and hope your LO is pleased to meet his new brother later tomorrow

INZI I have got this underwired nursing bra. It is really comfy and actually quite attractive as far as nursing bras go . If your order via blooming marvellous you get 10% off as well if you're a member of Mumsnet!

ChocolateHobnob · 04/10/2007 21:40

Mrs Fish - wow!!! Good thing they spotted you were breech before labour!! Shame they didnt do it before the sweep. Am not surprised you're emotional and tired - it must have been a shock. But this time tomorrow you'll be cuddling Ben...

J20, I feel for you. Hope the jigsaw helps a bit. I'm a wimp too and fear induction, but think it's inevitable for me since first babies are so often late. But yours is your second and could happen anytime!

Emj, I'm no expert but they told us at our NCT class last week that they do sweeps at home not hospital - assume GPs surgery counts as home?? Not sure.

No news from Alicet today - she was hoping to be out of hospital, but if she is I guess she's occupied with Adam and Sam!!

My lo seems to have moved even further down - it really feels like it's leaning on my pelvic floor all the time now.

GOOD LUCK MRS FISH AND LOOKING FORWARD TO YOUR NEWS!!! Hugs.

MrsFish · 04/10/2007 21:47

I'm off to bed now, night all, and I'll let you know all about it in a few days. Have a good weekend everyone, and I hope to come out to some good news of other lo's arriving

inzi - IF ONLY i was busy with my lo!!! you must have me mistaken for someone else who has actually given birth!!!

morning all

Thinking of you Mrs Fish!!

Good luck and enjoy lo's first day
x

ChocolateHobnob · 05/10/2007 08:04

Mrs F will be in hospital by now!!

Greedy, good luck with the sweep. Let's think positive and assume it works and your lo comes eagerly along!

Inzi - how's the contractions? and J20, how are you doing?

Muppet, are things going okay for you?

I'm shattered today-usual end of week thing plus crap night's sleep. Bah humbug. I know I'll be massively sleep deprived when lo arrives but at least there'll be a more obvious reason.

Working from home today but have so little energy it's unlikely I'll do much!

Hope you're all okay x

nellieloula · 05/10/2007 08:27

Good luck mrs fish - thinking of you today. hope everyone else is doing ok; can't remember the posts but just wanted to check in and say hello. have a good day everyone

WinnieThePooh · 05/10/2007 08:52

Just received a text from Mrs Fish

"Ben couldn't wait till this morning. He beat me to it. Waters went at 11pm, contractions started at 11.45, had emergency section and he was born at 1.47am weighing 8lb! 11oz*. Head of blonde hair just like Sam, both of us are doing very wellx!

Also I received another text at 8.20 this morning but don't recognise the number so it may be they are using hubby's phone. JUst had a thought that it might be ess as I emailed her my number, but she did dod send me hers.

It Says: "I think my waters broke at 3.30am and have been having contractions every ten minutes. On way to hospital. Will keep you updated."

ChocolateHobnob · 05/10/2007 09:14

Hurrah for Mrs Fish and Ben!!! 8 pounds 11! Well done Mrs F.

Winnie - mystery about the other person - wonder if it is ess!

Exciting times...

unicorn · 05/10/2007 09:24

all happening now isn't it?
Congrats Mrs Fish hope you are resting now after your exciting night!
Hope everyone else is ok, and welcome bumptobaby.

Well had another (hopefully last) scan yesterday, and although babe is growing the bl**dy centile has changed and they aren't sure why.
I have to keep going for monitoring and will see Doctor on Tuesday. Am not keen to be induced (horrible 1st birth memories)and don't really see a problem (movements are fine etc).. so will just have to see what is said next week.
Monitoring can create more problems than it helps sometimes I think.

Shall have some more reflexology today - hopefully will help puffy legs/feet.

Take care everyone.
xx

Hello lovely ladies,

Not had a chance to catch up on everything (althoguh seen message from inzi about J20 - Good luck honey!) but thought I would update you on my news first and then try to catch up later...

Well as Choc updated you Adam was born on 2nd Oct at 12.51pm weighing in at 7lb 14oz - much bigger than Sam who was 6lb 9oz! Got home yesterday and apart from the inevitable sleep deprivation (Adam wanted to feed every hour last night....) doing great. The elective section was so so much easier to recover from than the emergency one last time - would have been home the day after if it wasn't for wanting to make sure I got the breast feeding right (he wasn't so great at latching on to start with).

The section itself was so much more relaxing and moving than I expected away from all the associated anxiety about how Sam was and how terrified I was of being on the opposite end of the knife than I was used to last time. This time it was really relaxing, they lowered the screen and raised my head so I could see Adam being born which was incredibly moving. And handed him straight to me for skin to skin. Just wonderful.

Sitting in the sitting room at home feeling great despite about 2 hours sleep with savoy cabbage leaves in my bra and boobs like Jordan waiting for the mw!

Will post pics on my profile shortly - be warned there are a couple of ones of him being born so the squeamish should probably not look too closely at those - I think they're amazing but appreciate wouldn't be for everyone....

alicet · 05/10/2007 09:56

Just scanned this thread briefly -

Huge Congrats to MrsFish and Ben and Katsch and Rory! Fantastic news! Sorry about the drama surrounding Ben's arrival MrsF but at least you have him with you now

Hope the rest of you are doing OK hope I haven't missed anything else monumental in my quick scan - off to scan the old thread now!

HonorMatopoeia · 05/10/2007 09:58

Inzi - you beat me to it have just wrestled the lap top off of DH to post about J20! Can't believe how many of these babies are popping!
Congratulations Mrs.Fish - these lo's do not like to be kept to anyone elses schedule do they?!!
Alice - glad to have you back and pleased everything was so relaxed and positive. I'll look at the photos - but probably after my own section!
Morning to everyone else...better let DH get back to work. Have a good day x

Thanks for all your lovely messages of good luck and congrats on the old thread!

PMSL at all the rest of your efforts to hurry things along - esp you Greedy!!! Now I see where the new thread title came from

Nellie - if you want my birth plan very happy to send it to you. Just send me a mail to alicetownend at doctors dot org dot uk. That goes for anyone else too.

Choc - I bought 2 cheap nighties from Primark for labour last time. And because I never got to the pushing stage last time they are still clean! They only cost about a fiver - if you want mine (which will now get the bung) you are welcome. I would def get nighties rather than pj's - apparently much more comfy for stitches. ALso following section to avoid pressure on the scar. Would also advocate ENORMOUS pants for same reasons for those having sections

muppetgirl · 05/10/2007 10:45

Hi Alice -glad all is well and that you had such a great birth.

Congrats Mrs Fish!!! I bet that was a dramatic evening/morning but glad to hear all is well and you are both okay.

J20 I hope all is well with you and lo arrives safely.

...is there anyone left to wait with me???

Henry is vey low now but I do know that isn't really a sign that something is actually going to happen but getting very uncomfortable now and are really wanting it to be all over. Get very shaky if I don't eat which is weird so are currently working my way through another pack of Asda's 5 doughnuts -jam of course

Kitchen is looking gorgeous and I do feel that I am now officially a grown up as I am walking into the kitchen and drooling over the floor/cooker ect. Would never have caught me doing that when I was younger

Speak later, going to watch a bit of fern and phil

greedygreedyguzzler · 05/10/2007 10:56

muppett girl - i am still left!!!!! crap crap crap!!!!!! maybe my sweep this afternoon will work!!!! you never know!!! so much for third babies coming early!!! i am now 40+5!!!

have a great day everyone else!!!

greedygreedyguzzler · 05/10/2007 10:58

alicet - would they do that lowering the screen for anyone who asked or did they just do it for you cos you are used to all the blood and gore with your job? not sure i would like to see!!!

alicet · 05/10/2007 11:06

Muppet - your kitchen sounds fab! Been meaning to get ours done since we moved in over 3 years ago....

Greedy - think they would do it for anyone. Actually couldn't see much gore - my bump stopped me being able to see where the cut was (wouldn't really want to see that on myself!!!!) but could see them lift him out and see him lying on my legs as they cut the cord and stuff. It was magical.

alicet · 05/10/2007 11:08

By the way have picked a pic of him being born that avoids too much gore for anyone who is freaked out! No incisions or scalpels in sight....

ess · 05/10/2007 11:32

Hi all- no it wasn't me that texted! Due date is today but no sign of anything yet.

nellieloula · 05/10/2007 11:44

congratulations mrsfish! what great news - good that he wanted to come on his own too!
lovely to hear from you alice and so pleased it was all so calm. mine's 2 weeks today so not long....greedy, my consultant won't lower the screen but I'm not overly bothered - he just doesn't think it's that appropriate. guess it's the luck of the draw with consultants.
hope everyone else is ok and not too swollen
