For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

Hi choc - nope nothing much to report. Show continues, but nothing else. Hopefully yours will materialise into somethng - if not, what's the plan?

So, going in today for a scan and some mointoring, and then I may be selected as part of a trial to have a dose of prostin gel and then go home overnight (they're trying to work out if it's more successful to leave women a bit longer witht he gel than the usual 4-6 hours and have them in a more relaxed environment).

Either way, it's back in on Friday morning for the full induction whammy...

Here's hoping it doesn't all end in a C-section... thankfully it seems that the rates for C-sec after induction at the hospital I'm at are still relatively low.

Who knows, maybe the one dose of prostin will be the final push she needs to make an appearance...

Hope your little one takes the hint soon...

DB

Good luck ladies! Is it just db, choc and snig now? Looking forward to seing you in postnatal very soon and hope all goes well over the next few days xxx

ChocolateHobnob · 08/11/2007 11:48

Hi DB

No pains or anything but am having a show. But I've read about that and it appears to mean precisely nothing!

Anyway for me, tis induction on Tuesday - prostin, same as you, but no going home I don't think. I guess there's time before then (I'm 41+1 today) but I don't really have faith that anything'll happen before then. My procedure is apparently to ring hospital at 8 am to find out when they want me on Tuesday...

GOOD LUCK with yours! and do let us know if you end up with the first dose tonight.

I'm going to bake something to stop myself from moping about.

INZI - congratulations, your baby sounds such a star! Looking forward to seeing pics and hearing more on postnatal!

snig · 08/11/2007 21:36

No, nothing here! I am presuming I'll be induced on Tuesday since no sign of lo apart from the show.

Fingers crossed lo does come before though...

alicet · 10/11/2007 13:51

Hi Choc! Thinking of you honey. Are you still managing to keep up your great positive attitude or are you just pissed off now? Hope things kick off over the weekend but if not enjoy one last browse in Borders without a screaming baby interrupting / tying you to the cafe. Lots of love xxx

alicet · 10/11/2007 13:52

Of course i'm sure your lo will be an angel who doesn't scream and only feeds when convenient! xxx

ChocolateHobnob · 10/11/2007 17:30

Hi Alice

Pissed off!!! Trying not to be and actually better today than earlier in the week, mainly cos I know it's not that long to wait now... just wish it would come of its own accord!!!

Snigs, hope yours does. And I hope DB has her baby by now - she was being induced yesterday...

alicet · 10/11/2007 20:10

Big hugs Choc. Your lo will be here before you know it. Thinking of you.... Here if you need distraction but appreciate that someone who has their lo might not be top of your list of people you'd like to cheer you up! Looking forward to seeing you on the other side if not once things calm down for you xxx

Dalrymps · 10/11/2007 21:14

Hey everyone, just a quick note to those still waiting for their lo's to say hang in there and they'll be here soon, all the waiting will fade to a distant memory once you look at your lo's for the first time . I know this isn't much help at the moment, i was 2 weeks late and utterrly pissed off! Anyway hope you're doing ok and that we see you on the other side soon

greedygreedyguzzler · 11/11/2007 08:21

hi choc! i have been meaning to post fot you for a few days now and not got round to it, sorry. you were really sweet to me when i was overdue and pissed off. i am really sorry that you are in the same situation. your lo really WILL be here before you know it, only a couple more sleeps and you will get to meet them!!! good luck with everything, and lets hope you make it before being induced!

sending you big 'go into labour NOW' vibes!!!

detsy · 12/11/2007 16:20

Hallo Ladies!
Apologies not been on for a while - been a bit busy!! Finally I'm a mummy too! Charlotte Grace arrived on Tuesday at 2.32am after being induced on Monday at 8am, hmmm!!

She's gorgeous and I'm in absolute awe of being a mum. Our baby Bean weighed in at 7lb 5oz and we came home on Wednesday. Just about getting into a little routine now.

So what happens now - do I move to the "other side"???

Congrats to all the other newbies and very best wishes for those who must be about to pop now.

I'll upload some pics onto my profile and check out everyone elses.

I guess we need to share birth stories on the Nov side ??!

detsy · 12/11/2007 16:29

Aaagh - birth brain drain - where is the Post natal thread for us?

XXX

ChocolateHobnob · 12/11/2007 18:47

Thanks for the support Greedy, Dal, etc! Hopefully I will soon have my lo too...

alicet · 12/11/2007 18:58

Good luck tomorrow Choc - thinking of you. HAve just sent you a text...

detsy · 12/11/2007 19:02

Hi Choc - go girl, at least you know that very very soon you will have your baby.

First half od induction is fine - prostin pessary which kick started me into labour. My waters had broken at home - just a trickle and I had had slow labour since the Friday. I thought they would say I was 3cm or so when I went in on Monday but unfortunately not!! They then leave you for 6 hours and recheck your progress. My labour was all in the back at that stage but was very manageable just with std painkillers and massage. At 6 hours i was 5cm and ready to go down to delivery suite. To be honest I got really apprehensive then but I think thats normal. Once down there I was put on the syntomycin drip to speed things up. They increase the dosage quite fast and the contractions really get fast and frantic - but the good thing is that the time goes quite quickly as you are so focussed on getting through each contraction. My midwife was very into natural birth and started me off on low end of pain relief with pethidine - complete waste of time, just made me feel like I'd had 3 bottles of wine but did nothing for the pain. Just entertained everyone by crashing into the walls when I was insistent ongoing for a pee (also a waste of time!)

Then she offered me gas and air which was actually quite good but made my mouth really really dry and I was so p*ssed on the pethidine I couldn't really use it. With a couple of hours to go I was yelling for an epidural but was told by the time they'd found an anaesthetist and it had taken effect, it would be pushing time.

I'd suggest if you get the drip that you keep a really open mind on the epidural! Mind you if I can get through it with practically no pain relief then anyone can as i am a real mardy pants!! The massively important thing is - when you are in the midst of all this - that it will be over and it will be forgotten when you see your baby. It's so exciting, I'll be thinking of you tomo, what time you being induced?

Good luck hun, do the breathing and can't wait to hear wht you finally get!!

xx

detsy · 12/11/2007 19:04

Thanks Alice - I'll get on the link now.

Love being a mum - god it is soooo amazing. Like Inzi I keep looking at Lottie and thinking how can she be mine! And where did she fit

alicet · 12/11/2007 19:07

Detsy sounds like you had a pretty positive time even if it was bloody painful!!! And like you say the end result is worth it (Ok so this is from the girl with the elective section but I DID get to 9cm last time before the emergency section so I'm not totally in the dark about labour! )

alicet · 12/11/2007 19:07

cross-posted detsy! Yes its hard to believe that this tiny person used to be the bump isn't it?! Magic.

WinnieThePooh · 13/11/2007 05:39

Congratulations Detsy.

Who has still to pop then?

Dalrymps · 14/11/2007 12:33

congratulations detsy! bet you're so chuffed to finally meet your lo!!! well done , hope to see you over on post natal soon x

alicet · 14/11/2007 12:41

Baby news!

Sure anyone who is left over here (and not sure there are ny of you now) will be pleased to know that Choc has finally had her baby! A little girl, Rebecca Alice weighing 6lb 13oz. She was born at 10.30 last night by emergency section. Apparently all progressed rapidly after induction with a pessary but she was distressed and had the cord round her neck hence the section. Text from her dh says they are over the moon.

See you in postnatal Choc!

WinnieThePooh · 14/11/2007 13:07

Congratulations Choc
