For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

scrap all the excitement - all stopped at 6am but i least i got some zzz! Don't know what that was then so off to be assessed as planned and see what they say!!

Tired and grumpy - was so so sure that things were on the move

Ok best toodle off to the hosp - goo dluck girls for today

xx

kitcoffey · 02/11/2007 11:28

What a bummer!!!! Maybe it's a calm before the storm? Let us know what the hospital say.

detsy · 02/11/2007 13:59

Am back! Survived the rigours - am in labour but they have booked me in for Monday in case it stops again. Going full pelt at the moment but think thats co I've been "interfered" with!!

Opted out of the membrane sweep - didn't think much point and had to cut the internal short before head got pushed thru into next room

Whizzing round the house with hoover and changing bed linen so maybe all that cleaning tales thing is true after all.

Immersion heater is on for the many baths I'm assuming I'll want too. Mind you sitting/lying still is the last thing I want to do when cramps start!!

So just maybe this is it - fingers crossed. Very best wishes to everyone else - good luck with the breathing and pushing ladies!
xx

Good luck Detsy!!! And Colly - there IS still time. I'm willing your lo into action to save you from induction. It happened more or less to Dalrymps, didn't it?
Kit-you too!

Good luck Inzi and Detsy! I am very !!

ejt1764 · 02/11/2007 16:01

inzi - that's how mine were the day before I had Mairwen ... labour vibes to you (and everybody else still hanging on!)

also try nipple stimulation ... and (ahem) - make sure you have at least 1 orgasm when you and dh do the deed ... enjoy!

alicet · 02/11/2007 16:34

Good luck detsy and inzi who both sound as though things are kicking off and colly (and kitti?) who are due inductions if all else fails. We'll be thinking of you and looking forward to catching up in postnatal!

Good luck too to the rest of you.

And I'll second ejt that we'll be very disappointed if you defect to the Nov postnatal thread!

detsy · 02/11/2007 16:35

Hey Inzi - looks like we are in the same boat - same thing happened to me last night and now the daytime contractions seems to have "stopped" again!! Wonder how yours are doing??

No chance of a good romp with DP - not been near me for ohh about 8 months now!! Maybe an Ann Summers special may help though don't think they produce prostaglandin...

Hoovering is finished - roped in DP for that at least

Trying hard not to think about next sign and trying to stay busy - hooked up steriliser and car seat (not to the same thing obv!!)

Colly - sending you some crampy vibes and hope it works for you x

Lets see what this evening brings..

GOOD LUCK xx

detsy · 02/11/2007 16:37

I won't be defecting - don't know where it is!!!!

kitcoffey · 02/11/2007 16:59

Oh exciting ladies. My DP thinks I am nuts as that grotty kidney pain has moved around my whole back and I feel good and achey, so I'm kind of hoping that even if it's not labour my bits may be shifting to the right place to make induction easier this weekend ish. Sooo excited for you girls, keep posting as long as you can!

For a little smile, my sister was due 4 weeks behind me, the gap has closed now to 2 weeks and she was having rumblings today, how grotty is that!

kitcoffey · 02/11/2007 17:03

By the way Detsy and any other labourers In all the births in my family not one had waters or show until in full throws and even then membranes were broken so don't rely on that.

Humpf they were also on time or 4 days max and 4/5 hours start to finish!

ejt1764 · 02/11/2007 17:51

detsy - my show happened 45 minutes before my waters broke - and the contractions started rolling in thick and fast after that...

and ... if you can't face doing the deed itself, I'm told that a turkey baster comes in quite handy ... and that it works if you swallow it too ...

(how do I know these things? )

and ... I'm glad you don't know where to find the November post-natal thread ... but for future reference, here's the October one ...

Collywobbles · 02/11/2007 18:58

Hi Ladies - thanks for all your labour vibes..nothing yet though. I've just had a lovely long shower and washed and straightened my hair and now DH and I have decided to make the most of our last night alone to go out for a meal...surely going out to a restaurant is tempting fate and my waters are bound to break!!

If not, then at least it'll take my mind off tomorrow and stop me from getting into a panic...that's the idea anyway!

Got to call hospital tomorrow morning at 8am to check when I can go in so if I don't get a chance to post again then good luck to all you un-popped ladies in your various stages of labour/non labour and I'll see you on the other side!
xxxx

detsy · 02/11/2007 19:25

Have a FAB night colly before you are 3!! Try not to panic - think how exciting tomo will be and any discomfort will result in meeting your beautiful baby so all worth while!

I'll prob be following you down same route on Monday at 8am as its all gone very quiet in the rumble dept here

I'll be thinking of you tomo and you never know you may get some natural start in the night anyway - you've got over 12 hours

EJT - a turkey baster, lol!!! Won't be coming to xmas dinner at your house

Inzi - you can't still be at it or maybe it just worked... if so bring on the turkey baster for me...

Going to bounce on ball now (birthing ball....lol)
xx

WinnieThePooh · 02/11/2007 19:55

Good luck for tomorrow Colly.

Kitcoffey, my contractions were all in my back, so this could be it.

Good luck to everyone.

detsy · 02/11/2007 21:46

Go Inzi girl!!!
xx

kitcoffey · 03/11/2007 01:33

Oh blimey Inzi, good luck will be thinking of you!!!!

Winnie I thought it may be too but all went quiet and pain went back to the left again so probably just wedged baby having a stretch and putting my back out!

ChocolateHobnob · 03/11/2007 09:33

Ooh it's all action!! Good luck Colly, Inzi and Detsy!!! So exciting.

And Kit - looking forward to your news here.

No sign of any twinges whatsoever here, so am just going to have a nice shopping day and not think about it.

Looking forward to hearing more baby news!!

ejt1764 · 03/11/2007 10:27

go girls ....!!!

thankfully I didn't have to resort to the turkey baster this time ... dh decided he was up to the job (so to speak ) ... so it wasn't needed!

(so you're safe to eat the turkey at my house!)

J20DemondaughterandDevilbaby · 03/11/2007 11:24

hi girls, just a quickie, have been keeping an eye on things but not had chance to post.

have just text inzi to see how its going but not had a reply yet, don't know if i'm her only text buddy? but will keep you all updated and good luck to all

designerbaby · 03/11/2007 11:58

Hi ladies, haven't been here in a while... couldn't keep up with the flurry of conversations in the earlier part of the month, and then kind of figured you'd have all gone elsewhere by now - checked today and was surprised to find a few fellow stragglers still here - and possibly as frustrated as I am...

Not much to report, unfortunately - was due last Saturday, still nothing major happening... lots of cramps/pains/braxton hicks etc. and a couple of occasions when things seemed to be getting going, with regular contraction every 10-15 minutes or so for a couple of hours before stopping again... VERY frustrating.

Feeling quite down - have been trying EVERYTHING we can think of to get things going. And I do mean everything...

Have consultants appointment on Tuesday - remember thinking at the time they made it "surely I won't still be pregnant by then..." [cue wry laughter]. Maybe they'll do something then.

How is everyone managing to keep upbeat - confess I'm feeling quite depressed this morning...

Good luck to those who seem to be getting going - hope things continue apace.

Hmmph. Maybe I should start checking the due in December thread...

Love, the long absent
