For want of a better title, I'll go with Inzi's

Well then, today has all been a bit of a blur for me so far. Dropped ds off at nursery, then went to see mw at 10.30, she did a sweep (wasn't that uncomfortable by the way) and then pronounced that she thought he might still be breech so sent me off straight to hospital for a scan. Got there at 11.30, had scan.... and he is breech because she did me a sweep they don;t want to leave me over the weekend, so I am going in for a cs tomorrow morning 8am my mind is all a whirl, thought I would let you all know, and then I am going to repack my bags now I know what's happening. Will probably be in hospital till monday/tues if there are no problems. So much to sort out and do this afternoon now, must get on, will catch up with you all later, hopefully you will find this thread ok

Dalrymps · 31/10/2007 23:54

hey everyone! I'm using the internet in hosp - very slow. dylan mcgregor dalrymple was born yesterday at 16.42 weighing 6lb 5oz.they started inducing me but only got as far as the prostin and i went in to labour!lo was back to back and it really hurt but somehow managed to get through on gas and air, did ask for pethedine but never got it cause it was time to push by the time they got round to actually offering it. sustained a 3rd degree tear cause he had his arm up as he came out so a bit tender now. lo is amazing, doing really well, feeding well and looks just like his dad. anyway i'm off for a nap. catch you all soon, hope you're all ok

MrsFish · 01/11/2007 07:00

Hi Dal!

CONGRATULATIONS! I'm so happy you got there. Welcome little Dylan! hope you get out of hospital soon and looking forward to hearing more and seeing some pics!

Well it's the day after my due day (and in fact this is my due day according to my calculations but not the scan's). Went out last night for dinner to avoid Halloweeners and to celebrate due date; we went back to the pub where we had our wedding reception. Today am going into town, meeting a couple of friends for lunch and then I think I'll wander round the shops scouting things I'd like for Xmas. Have decided not to stress about being late and take the time as a holiday where I can do whatever I like.

Have a good day everyone and since los round here are like buses, hopefully there'll be more news shortly!!!

Collywobbles · 01/11/2007 10:19

CONGRATULATIONS DAL!!!! I'm so happy for you - and welcome to little Dylan.

Choc - sounds like you've got the right attitude although don't know where you're getting all your energy from. I could no more do Christmas shopping right now than fly to the moon!

I had a crap night - due to our HORRIBLE neighbours again. She was having some sort of Halloween party and sent 2 of her guests round at around 10 to ask if it was alright to play the music loud...she never comes round herself! We said that was fine as long as they turned it down at 11..didn't think this was unreasonable given my current state and the fact it was a Wed night! Needless to say, the music continued and in fact got louder. Eventually at about 1.30 we got fed up and DH and I went round to ask them to keep it down. After many drunken/drugged up apologies and attempts to grope my stomach by complete strangers they promised to turn it off. However, absolutely NOTHING happened! We couldn't believe it! It didn't even get quieter. I stormed round again and asked what they were playing at and this time a couple of lads answered the door and looked at me like I was a complete bitch! 'We're just having a little party, what's the harm in that?' was their helpful response...the music was still going strong at 3.30 when I eventually dropped off but poor DH didn't get to sleep till much later. GRRRRRRRRRR...I'm so ANGRY!!!

Sorry about the me me me post!

xxxx

honeyapple · 01/11/2007 10:50

Congrats to Dal and welcome to Dylan . Hope you heal quickly, the tear sounds sore... make sure you take some painkillers!

Collywobbles- what a nightmare, poor you. Hope they are a bit more understanding when your LO arrives.

Well... do we all decamp to the November thread??

WinnieThePooh · 01/11/2007 10:53

Congratulations Dalrymps. Welcome Dylan.

Colly after going round once and asking them to turn the music off or even down a bit with ho response, I would have called the polce and left them to deal with it.

Last summer(2006) there was a chartity event being held at a house on the main road parrallel to us. When I could still hear the live singer ar 3.30am (with windows closed)I called the police and they seemed to know the address already. They must have sent someone round because within 30 minutes it stopped when the singer was mid song.

I hope all of you still waiting get to meet your LOs soon.

ChocolateHobnob · 01/11/2007 10:56

Colly, poor you! It must be absolutely horrible. I'm struggling like mad to sleep anyway and that would push me over the edge. Can you rest a bit today?

I kind of think the police is a good suggestion.

Another one is to wait till lo is here and screaming in the very early morning and then turn up the sound in your house and wake them up. They are so selfish! It makes me mad...

Hugs!

Collywobbles · 01/11/2007 11:44

Thanks Guys! I think we will call the police next time - although we're a bit worried about what the neighbours would do if we did - her boyfriend is currently in prison for drug dealing and burglary (nice!) and you hear all these horror stories! We're also looking into options with environmental health.. Thankfully, I can rest today a spot of This Morning and some snoozing on the sofa is called for methinks.

Congrats Dal and welcome Dylan! Lovely name - one I wanted but dh didn't agree on (there were lots of those!!!)

Gemma hope the fact you've gone quiet means things are happening for you...

Colly - livid at your neighbours! Selfish bastards, When lo arrives and is screaming in the night get your own back by going to a room next to them!!!

Choc - enjoy your day you have the right attitude. And now you will def meet your lo in the next 2 weeks.

Hello and big hugs to the rest of you x

detsy · 01/11/2007 19:18

Hallo all
Dal - Congratulations on arrival of Dylan!!

Colly - env health is the way to go with noisy neighbours, they can actually take away the stereo if need be!! Really sympathise as I need silence to sleep and have lived next door to nosiy inconsiderate t*ssers b4. Hope you caught up with some zzz today!

Slight twinges here but nothing really - comes and goes (going more often than happening!!) Hosp appt tomo for check and potential sweep - so will report back!

Choc well done for the attitude and the shopping - very organised! I'm with Colly - got to heave my flat feet round to the neighbours for a jewellery party in a mo and really need to soak in the bath / slob on the sofa

So we're all into Nov babes now - very impressed with your stats inzi - hopefully all be popped soon! Just seen another neighbour who exclained she was nowhere near the bump size of me and she had a 9.5lb whopper Off for a valium...
xx

ChocolateHobnob · 01/11/2007 19:57

Hello all - I reckon Gemma has her lo by now since she's gone quiet!

I had a very nice day. Met some friends for lunch, then went shopping with one of them, then she went back to work (after a 3 hour gap!) and I wandered round some more shops. I bought some very high black wedge heeled boots in Moda in Pelle and a winter scarf. And then sat in John Lewis espresso bar and ate cake and drank organic lemonade before going home. V nice day but am now dead on my feet! I think I'll be plonked on the sofa shortly.

Detsy, enjoy your night! Inzi, are you completely better now?

Time for me to flop! Take care of yourselves and hope for more baby news soon.

Collywobbles · 01/11/2007 20:03

Evening Ladies!

I've just written a very long email to our Anti-Social Behaviour Co-Ordinator and feel much better now!

Detsy - thanks for the advice. at your neighbour! Isn't it funny how people take such pleasure in trying to put the fear of god into us with their horror stories! Hope you have fun at your jewellery party.

Hi to Alice, Honeyapple, Winnie and Inzi - hope you all had lovely days...Inzi, I too am impressed with your stats update...this time next week, I should be well and truly on the 'popped' list ...very surreal!

Hugs to everyone else xxx

Hi girls .... Mairwen is 1 month old today!

Happy Monthday to you, happy monthday to you etc ...

just popping in to say congratulations to dal! ... and if any of you even think we're letting you defect to the November post-natal thread, you've got another thing coming ... we've been through too much together!

I've got the cold and feeling crappy - as I have horrendous sinus pain and can't take anything to wallop it as I'm bf, and the drugs woul make my milk dry up! boooooo!!

Hang on in there, see you on the other side soon!

kitcoffey · 01/11/2007 23:21

Hello everyone, congratulations Dal fabulous news so pleased for you!

Into the realms of November poppers then!

Soo sorry about the horrid neighbours, hope you get some help!

Good idea on the eyelash front, will follow suit I think!

Keep getting horrid pains in my left side think in the kidney area anyone else had that? Last night it was so bad at 2am I hurled myself into the bath like a lemming.

Been handed over to the induction team at the hospital where I have to wait for a call to come in which can happen at any time. I am not a big fan of hospitals and I am secretly a bit nervy about it, I had rather hoped to labour at home for as long as possible. Is it awful or OK I have no idea what to expect?

detsy · 02/11/2007 05:32

Hi girls
Maybe maybe things are moving here...been up since 2am with regular pains but waiting to see what develops in daylight. No show or waters or anything def tho!! But would be good if was real start.

Left DP in bed, not a lot he can do at this stage and have discovered the oven door handle is a great height to lean against...

Kit these started in the kidney area and have gradually moved round - maybe same thing is happening to you?? If not good luck with the induction!! I'm sure you'll be fine - the excitement at meeting LO will take over (apparently!!! lol) Hope you get the call soon and then you can start the action - good luck!! Your lemming comment made me smile - i was the same this morning and think I may get back in again now!!

ChocolateHobnob · 02/11/2007 07:40

Morning all

Detsy - yay, action! Looking forward to hearing more news.

And Kit - ditto, if Detsy's right about the kidney pain.

Colly - is it tomorrow that you'll be induced? Hoping for action from your lo before then.

Inzi, I'm just trying to treat this time as a holiday rather than being miserable... it just seems the best way of not ending up utterly demoralized before I even start labour! Having said that, I am not sleeping and that is killing me on a head-level, whereas my body is quite energy-filled.

Ejt, Alice, everyone else who's already popped, thanks for coming by to see us.

Anyone heard from Muppet?

Not got anything planned today so I guess I'll just be sitting around reading and net-surfing.

Good labour vibes to all!

kitcoffey · 02/11/2007 08:15

Oh Detsy, exciting!!! MY DP wold be chuffed if that was as involved with the oven door I got, (enthusiastic but not great in the kitchen!)

You will be great so hang in there can't wait to hear the outcome!

Collywobbles · 02/11/2007 08:30

Good Luck Detsy! It sounds like things are starting to happen for you...and maybe you too Kitcoffey!

Still nothing for me and I now just have today and tonight left for it to come naturally...I'm not holding my breath! Although if I thought it would help...

Part of me is excited that something is finally going to happen and part of me is terrified and trying not to think about it too much.

Kittcoffey - Just in case you get to that point, I started a thread on the Childbirth bit asking for positive induction stories and there are a few on there if you fancy a read! I'd put a link here but not sure how to...

Collywobbles · 02/11/2007 08:31

kitcoffey · 02/11/2007 09:14

Colly I think I will be following you down the induction route this weekend to be honest as I suspect the pain was as a result of the sweep but I have a feeling as my cervix was still too high to reach, that is about as much action I will see from that intervention. I will look at that link thanks as I have just heard horror stories so far!
