@CNovittBolden how are you this morning? That sounds really terrifying for you - glad nurse is happy and hopefully everything all ok now. With Wren they had us on the monitor a few times and were asking if I could feel how much he was wriggling and I couldn’t even though he was going bananas so fingers crossed all is just fine for you!

@ShiningStarz I’m so surprised they told you pre-eclampsia can’t happen this early! Guidance definitely says it can happen from 20 weeks and I’m living proof like you say! Most people you hear of seem to get it from about 34 weeks but I’m definitely not the only one to get it at this stage - uncommon to get it this severely and quickly but not impossible.

We’ve been moved to our regional NICU specialist centre now so Wren can get a bit more attention from people used to dealing with people so miniature. I’m so impressed by the care he’s getting here though - glad we’ve moved even though I was freaking out when our local hospital said they were arranging it!

ShiningStarz · 21/06/2020 07:07

Morning @Sara7455 that's great he is going to be getting specialist care now, obviously stable enough to be moved which is great. So they weigh him every so often? Hope you are ok and that the regional centre isn't much more in travel for you. Hugs xx

@CNovittBolden thinking of you today. All sounds very positive and great they are giving you scan for peace of mind.

@emma278 I'm a complete wreck!! I'm now being investigated for heart problems developing in pregnancy!! Apparently the heart works 40% harder due to keeping our babies going so lots of additional strain. Never thought I'd ever have ecg leads and heart tracing and now waiting to see a specialise to confirm what's going on. The worry is endless!!!

Sara7455 · 21/06/2020 07:14

@emma278 sorry I missed your post about triage - these babies put us through such worry!! Glad they decided you’re ok though!

@ShiningStarz hope all your heart tests come back ok! It’s all worth it when our little ones are here.
I’m still an inpatient for my BP but luckily they were able to transfer me with Wren so we’re still together collecting hospital wristbands as we go. It’s a bit further for OH to travel and different visiting rules to learn but not too bad a move

LatteLover12 · 21/06/2020 07:49

Morning ladies, sorry to hear some of you are having a stressful time.

Thinking of you @shiningstarz and @CNovittBolden and you and baby Wren @sara7455

My sciatica took a turn for the worse yesterday and I was pretty much immobile all day (and crying in pain) I'm really hoping today is a better day.

CNovittBolden · 21/06/2020 09:57

Thank you everyone for your messages! So so lovely to read again this morning.

Doctor has been by and has told me I have an ectropian cervix. Never heard of that before but apparently nothing to worry about! As long as there's no more bleeding I can go home today and then come back for a scan tomorrow. Baby's heartbeat is perfect and he's moving around today!

@ShiningStarz Have you had any results back today?
@Sara7455 Are you two allowed visitors? I'm desperate to see my husband or parents but no one is allowed up.
@emma278 how are you doing today? Thank god baby was okay! Is he moving anymore today? My boy is moving around to today much more - cheeky bugger!!!

ShiningStarz · 21/06/2020 10:07

Awww that's great @CNovittBolden
Fab news and you can home now knowing all is ok 💙
Nope I'm back in tomorrow though for the oral glucose tolerance test so I'll ask about the bloods then. They always say they ring if there's any issues. Just waiting for my referral to cardiology now, was told I'd be seen within 2 weeks 🤞

MooseWL · 21/06/2020 10:23

Gosh so many hospital trips this weekend!
@CNovittBolden glad you can feel baba moving now, must have just been having a chill day! I imagine it was stressful!
@willowT I'm with you I'm constantly stressing about movement, I find it hard to know what's normal as there's also no pattern and some days seem a lot quieter!
@sara7455 glad the NICU isn't too far away. Have they said how long you'll be in for? Glad Wren is getting the care he needs. (I still can't get over what a cute name that is!)
@shiningstarz oh no. Fingers crossed everything is okay! How did this come about was it because of the headaches you went in?

I did a sponsored 7k walk yesterday and can't believe how much my back and hips ached afterwards, really need to be more consistent at being active! Also can't believe how sun sensitive pregnancy has made my skin I didn't even know that was a thing, I got really burnt!
I also went to my home town yesterday for the first time since lockdown to see my parents and a couple of friends. Was so nice to see them and show off my bump and feel a bit normal!
My mum gave me a gorgeous changing basket with baby clothes in. This baby boy is so spoiled already!

ShiningStarz · 21/06/2020 10:42

Hey @MooseWL my ankles and fingers were swollen so went in to get urine n BP checked. I mentioned I had palpitations, just couple times in noticed like I could feel my heart beating, sounds odd .. but that led to the ecg being done. Apparently changes in circulatory system in pregnancy can cause heart changes too!! Learn something new every day!!

@Sara7455 I'm sure your partner hadn't thought his first Father's Day would be this year!! Hope you have a lovely day all together making wonderful memories 💙💙 xx

CNovittBolden · 21/06/2020 11:02

@ShiningStarz Is everything still swollen now? Thank god you knew something didn't feel right with all the swelling and palpitations! I had no idea pregnancy could literally affect every part of your body and change the way it functions! Something they don't always tell you...

Happy Father's Day to all the partners (and to all those having to be mummy and daddy, enjoy this day too!)

Sara7455 · 21/06/2020 11:16

Amazing news @CNovittBolden very glad that little one is doing well today! The visiting situation seems to be different in every hospital (why wouldn’t it be...). Where Wren was born, they had maternity closed to visitors (but were allowing me to collect overnight bags from OH at the door and sort of pretended not to notice it somehow took like an hour for me to do that - I think they felt bad I was there for days on my own) but we were both allowed normal access to neonatal so just met there once Wren arrived. Here though only one of us can be with Wren at a time but maternity are allowing visitors in the afternoon so we’re managing to see each other there instead.

@MooseWL - thank you! Obviously we love it but it’s been really nice having other people react so well to it 😊. They haven’t really said how long we’ll be here. I feel like whenever you ask a doctor that question they say “oh only a few days”, just taking it a day at a time for now!

@ShiningStarz - I know! I had been half looking at present from bump things wondering if it might be a cute idea but obviously Wren is here already now! NICU had done little cards and chocolates for all the dads when I got there this morning, which is very cute (and lucky since I’ve obviously not had chance to go to a shop and had just sent a little gift via amazon)

Lilice · 21/06/2020 15:55

Great news @CNovittBolden glad to know your baby is ok.
@Sara7455 happy to hear you're both doing OK. How thoughtful of the NICU to think of father's day!
I was a bit worried this morning because I thought I hadn't felt the baby moved much. But after laying down and concentrating, I did feel enough kicks to make me feel better.

Has anyone bought a baby monitor yet? I was going to use my old one but now thinking of getting a newer one. What is everyone getting?

sianyflewog · 21/06/2020 16:52

I am the same about movement some days, and I just think I’m so busy working from home whilst also looking after H that I don’t sit still to think about it. I think about ringing some days, but then I lie in bed every night and she starts to move, and so I make an effort to lie there and just pay attention. I do the same every morning too - that’s the only pattern we seem to have! Today, I am just sitting down for the first time and sure enough she’s wriggling away.
So tired today, had a terrible nights sleep 😴 but every time I woke up, I had this little one letting me know she was awake too ❤️

@lilice I have to get a new one too as our parent unit broke on the charging connection after the dog knocked it over one too many times. I was considering getting the same one again but also open to suggestions!

Happy Fathers Day to all the Daddy’s, and those to soon be. My husbands spent it in work, making this feel like the longest day to have ever been. When they say “the days are long but the years are short” about having young children, they definitely mean days like today 😴

Laura1348 · 21/06/2020 18:05

@Lilice first time mum here and I've just bought the babymoov too moov based on mumsnet reviews.

Roxy8203 · 21/06/2020 19:10

I've seen people raving about the Bt 6000 monitor. I haven't brought one yet so can't give my experience however

HugeAgeGap · 21/06/2020 19:53

@CNovittBolden I also have a cervical ectropian, only know because of having abnormal cervix cells removed. It's totally normal, just where the more sensitive softer cells which should be on the inside of the cervix grow on the outside, hence getting a bit of bleeding as these cells are softer and more irritable! I think it's very common for this to happen if taking contraception pill type things. Nothing of a concern :-)

Chanel05 · 21/06/2020 20:35

I can't remember if we did this back at the start, but shall we have a roll call so that we can make a list of due dates in order as the time is getting ever closer? Post your due date and a pink, blue or yellow heart and I'll make up a list in my phone to share.

Lazydaisydaydream · 21/06/2020 20:40

@ShiningStarz glad they have referred you, hope you dont have too long of a wait. One of the stories on Life and Birth was following a woman with similar thing (think her name was Jin?). Have you watched the series? Some of it was hard to watch but her story was lovely!!

ShiningStarz · 21/06/2020 21:05

Hi @Lazydaisydaydream no I haven't watched any of it !! I don't think
I want to either! 🙈

ShiningStarz · 21/06/2020 21:16

Thanks everyone, I'm
In limbo really until outpatients appt. it was a junior doc in the Hosp fri night so it's hard to know if what they said was accurate. I'm looking forward to seeing the consultant hopefully this week or next .)

Lazydaisydaydream · 21/06/2020 21:21

@ShiningStarz haha I don't blame you...it was one of those where once I'd started watching it I wanted to carry on but some was so sad. Was a bit more indepth than one born every minute though.

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 21/06/2020 21:50

Aw I hope everyone is feeling ok - it’s been a worrying couple of days for a few on here.
I also feel the same about movements - sometimes sit and think - have I actually felt any movement today?! Then get paranoid about it !! Guess that’s just how it’s going to be !! Let us know how you’re doing ladies under obs

CNovittBolden · 21/06/2020 22:48

I think that's a great idea to do again! Think the original one has probably been lost with all the posts!

I've finally been let home and have a scan tomorrow to make sure he's alright and growing. I can feel him so much tonight that I keep crying when he kicks!

Roxy8203 · 22/06/2020 09:38

@Chanel05 2nd September 💙

LooseyGoosey · 22/06/2020 10:31

Thanks @Chanel05!

28th September 💙

ChipsAreLife · 22/06/2020 11:11

Oh goodness lots has happened this weekend!

@Sara7455 glad you've moved for some better care. How are you feeling in your recovery? That's so sweet about the chocs for Father's Day 💕 those NICU staff are angels.

@shiningstarz sorry to hear about your heart. My very good friend had really bad heart problems in her third pregnancy. She was in a&e a lot because the HR was incredibly fast. Eventually they got her on some medication which kept it at bay and she's not suffered with it since. Did you notice it yourself or did they pick it up?

@CNovittBolden glad you're home and feeling better. Thank goodness for the diagnosis so you're not in limbo!

Re movement Tommy's and count the kicks have good advice. For me I find baby is quiet when I'm moving around a lot and busy as it's rocked to sleep. It's not until I sit down with a cold drink that it moves. If you're unsure just Call MAU my midwife said to me last week they'd rather see you than not.

Anyone got awful braxton hicks? Never had them with my other two but this time round I've been really struggling. Yesterday I even had period cramps and felt like I was having contractions 🥴 managed to get them to stop in the bath thank god!!

@Chanel05 im due 8 but having a section 4 Sept. Team yellow. Thank you xx
