Is the glucose test normally at 28 weeks? Drinking all that liquid then sitting in a car sounds awful!

@ordis our pram just arrived in 4 boxes. Trying to pretend to concentrate in an online meeting at work whilst supervising partner trying to build it 😂

Sara7455 · 18/06/2020 12:53

Thanks for the washing advice ladies! Doctor just said they might send me home tomorrow so washing baby things and other third trimester prep will be something nice to keep me occupied 😊

Also noted about Lansinoh! Will get shopping!

@sianyflewog he’s doing really well thanks - still not wearing anything. They said they keep them in their nappies for the first 3 weeks so they can see their chest when they’re breathing etc. They also provide and wash all the clothes in the neonatal unit when they’re allowed to wear them as they grow so fast so I guess he’s covered until he gets to come home in September!

Chanel05 · 18/06/2020 12:56

What have you ladies decided on for a changing bag? DH and I are leaning more towards a rucksack style but struggling to find one we both agree on!

WillowT · 18/06/2020 13:39

Gosh, so much to catch up on. Welcome to those that have joined :)

@Sara7455 glad to hear things are going well for you and Wren.

@Chanel05 we're going for a rucksack style that can be used by both of us. I always prefer rucksacks as hands are free.

@MooseWL what pram did you go for?!

We've bought our car seat and have boxes of stuff from my SIL which we need to sort through and figure out what else we need.

No one has discussed glucose test with me...all they have asked if there is a family history. I have my 28 wk app in two weeks so will see what they say

Sara7455 · 18/06/2020 14:00

That’s so exciting your nursery furniture arrived @OrDis! You’ll have to send a photo when it’s all set up

Emmy2020 · 18/06/2020 17:14

Hi has anyone got any recommendations on good maternity/nursing bras?
@ShiningStarz What week is classed as third trimester?

ShiningStarz · 18/06/2020 17:58

@Emmy2020 week 28

I bought 3 bras and all
So uncomfortable!! I'm
Actually gong braless !!!!

WillowT · 18/06/2020 18:02

@Emmy2020 I finally found some good ones from John Lewis...£30 for two but are nursing ones too. More like crop tops than bras and it's so nice not to have the cups digging into me! I'm just about to order more!

MooseWL · 18/06/2020 18:35

@willowT I got some very similar ones from Debenham which are the same price and really comfy.

Went for the Joie Chrome DLX pram. One of the cheaper travel systems out there. Had a friend who has one and said though its not the lightest other than that can't fault it. We've put it together and looks fine for our needs. I didn't want to spend loads as I plan on using the baby carrier as much as possible.

ShiningStarz · 18/06/2020 19:11

@WillowT those bras look fab!! I kept coming out of the ones I bought and it made it so uncomfortable. I'd defo try those!! Thanks.

OrDis · 18/06/2020 19:35

@MooseWL we went with the Joie Chrome Dlx too- the deal we got came with an i-gemm and isofix too so glad it’s all sorted. I’ve made the main bit, just need to make the carrycot now and have a proper read of how it all works. It just about fits in our car boot 🤦‍♀️

ShiningStarz · 18/06/2020 19:52

I always imagined my 28 week bump would be bugger. I don't feel big and people say I'v a nice small bump! Is it big enough! Prob need to stop analysing. So here I am this morning at 28 weeks. Would love to see everyone else's 💜

MooseWL · 18/06/2020 20:03

@OrDis I need to read all the instructions too! So many buttons 😂 we got the igemm with it as well just need to order the isofix base now.
I have no idea where to store it's all currently taking up half the living room!
Love the bump pic @shiningstarz i feel smaller than I thought I would be as well (26 weeks tomorrow) though it does get bigger throughout the day!

Emmy2020 · 18/06/2020 21:23

Thank you @WillowT and @MooseWL I will have a look at those now!
I’m just using one of those pull on wireless ones at the moment that I got from Peacocks ages ago but think it’s time I get a proper maternity one now. @ShiningStarz Two more weeks until third trimester then for me. Love the bump pic 😊

MostlyAmbridgeandcoffee · 18/06/2020 21:25

@Chanel05 we went for a rucksack one in the end and is just a normal rucksack and works just fine !

sianyflewog · 18/06/2020 21:33

@Sara7455 Oh that’s so good, I didn’t know they did that. So glad to hear he’s doing well. Fingers crossed on you being discharged too!

@Chanel05 I’ve gone for a rucksack this time - I bought the ditsy rucksack from Joules. I had a shoulder one with H and it drove me insane, it was heavy and used to twist the strap. So irritating.

@Emmy2020 I had a double pack from M&S - I find them pretty comfy! I just have some crop tops from ASDA for night time, as my boobs are enormous and I just don’t feel comfortable without a bra on. Both sets are nursing bras too.

@ShiningStarz I think you look perfect! I feel pretty big this time, but I think I’m just big in comparison to the same stages on my first pregnancy. Everyone used to tell me I was small and neat when I was pregnant with H, and he was 7lb 14 born 10 days early so bump size really doesn’t mean anything!

Both pregnancies I was so set on being healthy, and eating so well, and I’m pretty sure I lived off chips and crisps on H, and now I’m just desperate for dessert all the time. Currently ploughing my way through GU cheesecake! Is anyone else like this?
Finally got my wine - got Torres Natureo Rose from Waitrose, and it’s so nice, it really is like real wine! Xx

sianyflewog · 18/06/2020 21:35

This is me yesterday, 26 + 3. I’m normally size 8/10.

Ignore my clothing - pyjamas bottoms on at about 4pm for comfort! 😂

CNovittBolden · 18/06/2020 21:43

Has anyone else got a really furry bump?! 🤣 @ShiningStarz yours looks so smooth! I look a lot like a kiwi right now!

Sara7455 · 18/06/2020 21:46

@Emmy2020 another vote for the m&s double pack here. Really comfy!

@sianyflewog - They’re genuinely pretty amazing and we’re really well looked after.
So glad you got your wine! Waitrose is definitely the one for non awful non alcoholic wine!

MooseWL · 18/06/2020 21:57

@CNovittBolden omg yes! Whenever I take a picture or video of my bump all I see is hair! My partner said the other day has your belly always been this hairy 😂 it probably has we have just never spent a lot of time staring at my belly!

ShiningStarz · 18/06/2020 22:22

Aww thanks @MooseWL & @Emmy2020

That's good to know @sianyflewog I'm
Looking forward to my check up next week, just need to know little one is gaining weight and all is on track. Love your bump, all out front 💜

Haha @CNovittBolden I prob just body buttered it before pic !!

@Chanel05 I just got the bugaboo one which will click onto the bugaboo pram (supposedly)!

Margo34 · 18/06/2020 23:04

Oh my I've just caught up - congratulations @Sara7455! I hope your little Wren is doing well!

Lilice · 18/06/2020 23:05

Lovely bumps ladies! That's me last week, I'm 26 weeks tomorrow. @sianyflewog I also have a sweet tooth, I love peanut butter and chocolate @ShiningStarz you look like you've got strong stomach muscles and lovely skin!

ShiningStarz · 18/06/2020 23:09

Gorgeous bump @Lilice I love the way you labelled it too. Such a nice idea. Thank you but my tummy muscles haven't seen a sit up
In years haha 🙈 can't wait until bump grows more 😊

Bubble29 · 18/06/2020 23:18

You're all so neat!
This was last Sunday when I was 27 weeks! I've been taking weekly photos and can't believe it when I look back to the first trimester when I thought I had a big bump.

Carrying twins 👶 👶 Dread to think how much bigger I'm going to get!
