I think we've decided on our girls name. We have a name for a boy but I'm not loving it as much as our girls so thinking there might be something better out there but I'm really struggling!!

@MooseWL have you considered Rupert as a middle name? Be a nice way to keep it if you don't want as a first name and @Roxy8203 what's wrong with Keith...🤔😂

We've just been given a lot of stuff from my SIL so need to sort through that then I'll start buying. Going to try and go as reusable as possible so need to do some research on that. OH has decided on a car seat so going to get that ordered! I just really need to find some space for everything! More clearing out needed!!

Roxy8203 · 13/06/2020 19:39

@WillowT I'm sure there are plenty of Keith's who love their name, just not sure it's very modern. He might be born a Middle aged man if we name him keith

Lilice · 13/06/2020 20:01

@MooseWL I love Milo, it's also on my list. I have James too but I prefer Jimmy. I think we'll end up deciding at the last minute.
@Sara7455 hope you're feeling well. Are you staying in another night?

Sara7455 · 13/06/2020 20:55

@Lilice they’re trying to get hold of the doctor to decide. I was meant to be heading home as I’m pretty stable but they decided to base the decision on my 6pm check which is when I have a massive spike every day so waiting for them to decide if I have to stay or they’re accepting it as my daily spike. Poor OH is at home on standby to pick me up - fingers crossed.

ShiningStarz · 14/06/2020 07:19

Morning
@Sara7455 how are you feeling? Hope all is ok 🤗
We like girls names ending in a.. like aria, Siena, Kayla. Maya.. mmm and for boys we like zac and cole. Definitely harder with boys names!!

ShiningStarz · 14/06/2020 08:02

John Lewis sale is on!!
Got 3 Aden anais cloths for £13 down from £21. Few other things too (the bright starts play gym, John Lewis baby nail kit). 10% off.
There was hardly any clothes in neutral!!

sianyflewog · 14/06/2020 08:20

@ShiningStarz I will ask about babies weight if I remember! When they measured my bump at my 24 week appointment, I was on the lower centile so will be interesting to see. I was always told H was a big baby - he was 7 lb 14 born (although that was 10 days early so I guess he’d have been bigger if he was born at 40 weeks). My mother in law kindly keeps telling me that this baby is going to be big 🙄
Interestingly, I was looking at that nightwear on BooHoo - I always wear PJs at home, although I sleep in my knickers, but I want some button down nighties for post section. I have a gorgeous one from Australia from when I had H, but also need some dark colours!

@chipsAreLife SW is the intention, but the reality may be something else lol. I also lost weight quickly after having H, although I think that was a combination of breast feeding and anxiety. Hopefully I’ll sort myself out this time!

@mooseWL Movement wasn’t mentioned to me until my 24 week appointment, when she asked if there was a pattern! But I’ve had a couple of times where baby has been quiet, and having a drink and a lie down has worked!

@emma278 You’ll have to get yourself a shewee for when you’re out and about, so you can nip behind a bush 😂 I don’t get huge urgency, but I definitely feel like sometimes baby is lying so low down that I can’t fully empty my bladder. This can only get worse too!

@sara7455 Fingers crossed you were discharged! how are you feeling?

I’m feeling so nervous about my scan today. I’ve dreamed all night that I didn’t find out the gender, and then I gave birth to a 10lb breech baby in an ambulance and it was a boy! And then for some reason I went straight to my Grandma’s house (who lives 2.5 hours away), and the baby wouldn’t breastfeed and I didn’t have any bottles 😂

We have a definite girls name - it’s been a name ever since we got together. The only issue at the moment is I want a full name - as it’s in my family and is special to me, although we will always shorten it (like the Frederick/Freddie situation), but my husband just wants the short name. Middle name is going to be Rhiannon - which is both my sisters name and my husbands sisters name. @ordis - I love Carys And Cariad ❤️ beautiful choices if you did go with a Welsh name, based on their meaning. @shiningstarz Do you think you’ll have an Irish name?
Boys we’re finding a bit more difficult. My little boy was always Harry, we didn’t have any other names - and we’re a bit stuck as we can’t have two Harry’s 😂 We’ve got a couple of contenders but I don’t LOVE them. Middle name will definitely be Rhys though - which is my husbands name, as well as my brothers.
(I understand that in divulging this, it looks as though my husband is my brother and our sisters are the same people... I assure you they’re not 😂)

MooseWL · 14/06/2020 09:15

@shiningstarz I have been browsing the john lewis sale this morning too and also bought the aden and anais muslins (how cute are the lion King ones!) and some cotbed sheets and a maternity breastfeeding cami top that I can wear in hospital. I don't wear pyjamas at home so need something to wear in hospital!!

Lilice · 14/06/2020 09:35

@sianyflewog enjoy your scan today! I've dreamed several times now that I'm expecting a girl. Usually my dreams tell me the opposite of the truth so maybe it's a boy lol. My last dream was so weird: my husband that the one breastfeeding the baby!!!!!
@Sara7455 thinking of you. Hopefully you're home now, or about to go soon.
@ShiningStarz I dont get why neutral newborn clothes are still out of stock. Its so annoying. I only want to buy newborn and up to 1 month in neutral but every time I check out a website it's all out of stock. I've only been once out to the supermarket and all the first sizes were also gone..

Sara7455 · 14/06/2020 11:19

I’m still in the hospital for now. BP rocketed again at 6pm last night so ended up staying another night. They’re still not writing off sending me home at some point but having to weigh up the risks.

@sianyflewog good luck at the scan today! Hope baby is cooperative and you find out what you’re having!
We’re still sticking team yellow but having lots of people guess for my entertainment. I’ve dreamt girl, friends and family say boy and guessing midwives (agreeing that it’s all old wives tales) also guess girl.

Totally agree @Lilice that the lack of tiny sized neutral clothing is a real pain! I’ve managed to get a handful of bits and pieces and some hand me downs but it’s annoying not getting much choice!

ShiningStarz · 14/06/2020 14:35

Oh no @Sara7455 I hope you are ok. Sounds like the hospital is best place so they can keep a close eye on you.

ShiningStarz · 14/06/2020 14:36

@Lilice I have one babygrow and jacket in newborn in white! Can't get just plain pack of white grows in NB anywhere! Will just have to wait until August when I'll
be happier going to shops

sianyflewog · 14/06/2020 17:55

I have also found lack of first sizes really frustrating. I got a couple of bits from M&S and Next, but hardly anything! It’s why I was getting so annoyed not knowing the gender, because there were things to buy when you knew!

Today we’ve found out that baby is a girl 💕 I promptly spent £50+ on spring/summer clothes for next year 😂 And my friend and I are now swapping stashed baby clothes - she’s having my old boy stuff for her baby boy and I’m having her old girls stuff for this one!

ShiningStarz · 14/06/2020 18:10

Aww fab @sianyflewog one of each!!!
How exciting. Glad scan and all went well.
I can't wait for my next check up, wed 24th can't come soon enough!! Still not going to find out the sex so it'll be team yellow for now!!

sianyflewog · 14/06/2020 18:39

Stay strong @ShiningStarz - it’s lovely to have the surprise at the end of delivery! I wasn’t bothered when we were having H, but my husband was desperate to know. This time I needed to know as soon as they said ‘could be a girl’!

Lazydaisydaydream · 14/06/2020 19:09

@sianyflewog congratulations! Lovely news!

ShiningStarz · 14/06/2020 19:25

I'm currently googling comfy 'granny' pants!! My wee M&s things just ain't comfy at all anymore!!!! Don't fancy spending the money on maternity ones so if anyone can recommend maybe just bigger siZe in primary ones I'll be happy!!

sianyflewog · 14/06/2020 19:46

Thanks @Lazydaisydaydream

I am the same @ShiningStarz - I’m just going to go up a few sizes, and buy the same knickers I normally wear. I will buy full, over the belly button granny pants for after my section though 😂

sianyflewog · 14/06/2020 19:48

Can’t stop shopping now! Just ordered the Aden & Anais dream blanket that I’ve had my eye on for a while as there was 50% off! ❤️

ShiningStarz · 14/06/2020 20:04

Yep think I'll just buy high full on
Briefs from M&s!! My partner is so chuffed lol 🙈

Bargain @sianyflewog I get a free Aden anais swaddle with the changing bag I ordered. I ordered few of their muslin cloths in John Lewis sale and I'v couple pram/car blankets. I'm stopping now lol!! Can't believe how much I'v bought and there's still 3 months to go!!!

sianyflewog · 14/06/2020 21:53

@ShiningStarz I have a few of the swaddle blankets and they’re lovely - used to use them for covering up when I was feeding out and about too! I’m going to try and stop looking at clothes now and focus on the other things I need 🙈😂

sianyflewog · 14/06/2020 21:54

I have the worst aching ankles and feet tonight 😖

Lazydaisydaydream · 15/06/2020 07:18

@ShiningStarz I always wear massive pants so had sort of forgotten other people don't Grin. I've found my big pants too uncomfortable with my bump as they just bunched up underneath it and were pressing against my c section scar so I bought some cheap under the bump maternity pants from amazon and they are Ssssooo comfy!!

Lazydaisydaydream · 15/06/2020 07:34

Oh and baby names! We've had a girl name picked out for years and so will definitely use that if it's a girl. However we seem to have used up the one boy name we could agree on with our son and now struggling to find a name we both love. My DH wants to use his grandfather's name (William) which I quite like but not 100% it goes with our surname as there's then a lot of L's. Also there's a really petty part of me that thinks as he came up with our eldests name I should come up with it this time Blush.

With my son though we waited until he was born and then spent about six hours deciding before finalising his name. The midwives were so pushy about it though! Asking over and over again what he was called as they wanted to do the paperwork haha.

LatteLover12 · 15/06/2020 07:38

Just had a lovely long catch up reading through the last few days, it's so lovely to see how everyone is getting on with their bumps!

Sorry to see you didn't get home @sara7455 will keep my fingers crossed for you this week.

Congratulations on team pink @sianyflewog and happy shopping!

We're having to do some work in the house before we can start to get started for baby. It would have all been done but covid stopped everything. I'm very relieved I hadn't had the kitchen ripped out which was booked in for week 1 of lock down! IMAGINE 😳

I can't wait for my room to be finished so we can sort out all the baby stuff. My sister is loaning me her snuzpod so I just need to order a new mattress for that.

Next stop is a private shopping appointment at mamas and papas so we can pram shop. I am so excited for that! Two weeks to go!
