Weighed myself tonight!!! Eeeeek 🙈

ShiningStarz · 12/06/2020 21:41

I'v put on 1.5 stone since my 12 week scan. Think that's just over 1lb a week!! Normal?
I'v still another 12 weeks so flip another 12lbs 🤔

sianyflewog · 12/06/2020 21:48

@Sara7455 Really hope you’re OK. My friend had pre-eclampsia in both her pregnancies, and carried the babies to term so fingers crossed for you. At least (as annoying as it is!) you’re in the best place, and getting plenty of rest. Hope you’ve got a Kindle!

@MooseWL Your midwife should’ve given you a phone number for calling about reduced movements? Her advice to me was to have a cold drink, lie on my left side and stay there for 2 hours with no distractions (easier said than done with a 3 year old at home who likes to come and check on you!). She said within the 2 hours, you should have at least 10 movements. If you’ve felt nothing within the first hour, call the number. If you have some movements but not many within the 2 hours, call the number. Much better to ring and then to say everything’s fine than to leave it.
I’ve had a couple of instances where I’ve thought the baby hasn’t moved much in last few weeks, and on reflection later (once I’ve had the lie down and plenty of movements), I’ve realised I’ve just been really busy doing something else and not really paying too much attention. I haven’t noticed a pattern either mind - except for first thing in the morning, and when I get into bed at night... and I guess this is just because I’m listening out more.

You all sound like you’re getting really organised. We are not at all 😂 We’ve just about cleared out our spare bedroom for H to move in to (as it’s bigger than his current bedroom), then have to redecorate etc - the bedroom furniture from the spare room needs to go to the tip first. My husbands so laid back but I like to be organised, so it will be done in the next few weeks lol.
My scan is FINALLY going ahead on Sunday, so will hopefully be out of Team Yellow and will be able to plan a little more! Xx

Lilice · 12/06/2020 23:55

@ShiningStarz I'm not weighing myself to avoid getting a heart attack, but I've already gone from a size 8 to a size 12 and still have 15 weeks to go! 😱 I try not to worry but already thinking of the 5 2 diet I'll have to go back on once baby's here and breastfeeding over.

Lilice · 12/06/2020 23:57

@sianyflewog enjoy your scan on sunday. Are you finding out the sex?
I'm going to pay for a 4d one for when I'm 29 weeks, so that my husband can come with me this time

Sara7455 · 13/06/2020 06:42

Thanks @sianyflewog - it’s definitely helping to hear positive stories. So many women and their babies seem to come through this just fine in the end I’m staying optimistic about it all even though this clearly isn’t how I planned to spend the final trimester! I do have my iPad so plenty of kindle and Netflix access to keep me entertained between check ups!

Hope your scan goes really well on Sunday! Very exciting to be finding out the sex too 😊

sianyflewog · 13/06/2020 06:54

@lilice Ha - same as me! I’m definitely not stepping on the scales, but thinking about which Slimming World class will fit into my week the best come October 😂
Yes, we’re definitely finding out the sex (as long as baby hasn’t crossed their legs - if they have I’m asking for a refund on him/her 😂). We originally booked a 4D gender scan, but the place kept being closed as it wasn’t classed as an essential service - it’s already been delayed, then rearranged... so they’ve changed their packages to “health and wellness”, but I spoke to them yesterday and they said they can still do gender checks etc.

@sara7455 Glad to hear that you’re ok in there. It’s so annoying being admitted when you feel you have loads to do, but at least you know you and baby are safe. I also read they talked about maybe having a C section - I had one on H, and am opting for an elective section this time, they are honestly fine! Here if you need anything xx

ShiningStarz · 13/06/2020 07:22

@Lilice I think it's important to say I'm
Not worried. I'm so happy to be pregnant. I just walked past scales after showering last night and wondered!! My pants don't fit, as in my underwear. Think it's now goodbye lacy thongs and hello big cotton High waisted pants!! 🤣

@Sara7455 love that your so upbeat, must be hard not being allowed visitors etc but happy your being well looked after. Sending hugs xx

ChipsAreLife · 13/06/2020 07:58

@ShiningStarz that's not bad at all. I've put on about 1st 10 and am 28 on Tuesday. I always put on loads of weight when pregnant and it always comes off quickly. Literally lost 2.5 stone in a week with my first!! I make big babies and seem to hold a lot of water. Some people seem to put on nothing and others loads, no rhyme or reason to it! As long as you're not eating crap 24/7 and keeping active you'll be fine.

@sianyflewog I'm impressed you'll start slimming world in October!! Good luck with the scan hope baby plays balls for you 🤞

Has everyone started to talk names? We are fine for boys but with two girls already we are struggling a bit!!

ShiningStarz · 13/06/2020 08:29

That's goood to know @ChipsAreLife crazy the fast weight loss after birth!! I'm walking loads so fingers crossed can keep it going right up to the end!!

Good luck tomorrow @sianyflewog ask about the weight! I'v another check up in 10 days, I'll be starting week 29 and little one should be about 2.5lbs by then! By 33 weeks they should be about 4.2lbs!! It's exciting the weight gain now.

@Sara7455 you'll be doing even better with the steroids 😊 I was born under 4lbs.

I was getting in habit of sandwich and bag of crisps for lunch. They were a small multipack bag but still! No more!!

MooseWL · 13/06/2020 08:29

@sianyflewog that's good advice thank you. He's moving loads this morning back to normal! Tbh my midwife hasn't mentioned movements at all but I haven't seen her since 16 weeks so assuming she will at my appointment next week.
I don't have scales so have no idea how much weight I've put on! I normally carry weight around my stomach anyway so don't feel like I've put on much elsewhere. It's not something I'm concerned about, and I don't think I'll be rushing to get back to pre pregnancy after what happens happens.
@chipsarelife we're struggling with boys names! We've started calling the baby Rupert which started as a joke but now it's stuck and that's 100% not going to be his name and I'm worried we'll get so used to calling him it that we won't be able to stop 😂 does anyone else have a nickname 😂

ShiningStarz · 13/06/2020 08:42

If anyone needs maternity / nursing nightwear I ordered these from boohoo in the sale and they were delivered in 3 days! So comfy and true to size. Nightdress £13.50 and Pj set £17.

@ChipsAreLife we are sorted on names have been forever! Poor hubby didnt get alot of choice. Itll be Frederick (Fred/Freddy) for a boy or Charlotte for a girl. Harriet made a last minute run but i've always loved Charlotte so we settled on that. Im convinced its a boy xx

Lilice · 13/06/2020 10:01

@MooseWL you make me laugh 🤣
no nickname here and no idea what to call this baby. We cant agree on anything.
@emma278 those are lovely names

Sep20baby · 13/06/2020 10:11

@Sara7455 how are you feeling? I hope it’s not too lonely in the ward and you can be sent home soon.
Just caught up on all the messages and thought I’d weigh myself as been few weeks. I’ve gained 10lbs I’m expected to gain 11-20 according to NHS and 25 weeks so hoping that not too bad Hmm I’ve only just got into maternity clothes most still fit. I have been lazy though, I was at the gym everyday before lockdown early pregnancy and since WFH not done much exercise as always tired and eating bad etc..back to office Monday which feels weird but hope that’ll put me back in a better routine. Feeling like a whale at the moment and so tired!! Xx

OrDis · 13/06/2020 10:14

@MooseWL. I’ve been referring to baby by what we are planning to call her, which is fine in lockdown but I am worried I am going to accidently spill it to family whilst on the phone or something, and I don’t want them to know until she’s born. My mum keeps calling it all kinds of things, (Bronwen; they are convinced we are going to call it something welsh because we live in Wales and DH is Welsh, Carys, Hermionie etc) I just laugh at it Grin

I have to say I think Rupert is quite cute though 🤣🤣

MooseWL · 13/06/2020 10:53

@emma278 I really love Freddie but am torn because I've always said I want the baby to have a full name not a shortened version on his birth certificate but I'm not 100% on liking Frederick or Alfred!

Rupert is definitely growing on me haha 😂 and I think it's quite common at the moment Baby Roo 😍

I also like James and Milo (but partner doesn't like Milo) Benjamin is my favourite name but any B name with my partners surname would spell something ridiculous so that ones out!
Such a hard choice I doubt we'll decide until he's here.

ChipsAreLife · 13/06/2020 11:01

@MooseWL I love Rupert. We have a lovely friend called that and he's just the nicest man ever so I'm biased! Love milo and Ben.

@emma278 love it! My nephew is a Frederick but we call him Freddie. Harriet is on our list too!

We call the baby bob lol. @lilice we are a bit like that don't like the others suggestions so we have to compromise, it's annoying when you love a name and they don't.

Thanks @ShiningStarz I'm so hot at night I'm just sleeping in bra and pants lol. They look very comfy though. But I need a nightie for hospital so will check it out!

Anyone else finding the lack of public toilets a nightmare!! Everything i want to do is restricted because i only have an hour max! Picnic in the park, go to the shops when they open. Etc etc. Its not fair on us pregnant ladies!!!

OrDis · 13/06/2020 11:57

@emma278 i’ve just been moaning about this to DH today. We’ve just got back from a walk down to our local park (takes about 25 mins to walk there) and I was needing a wee from about 10 minutes in. By the time we got back I was so uncomfortable. They really should open some up now, it is so tough.

Sara7455 · 13/06/2020 12:42

Just saw another doctor who suggested potentially sending me home for a bit, which would be nice. Difficult though as every doctor changes their mind so not telling OH and getting his hopes up just yet!

Loving the names everyone! Really lovely choices - funny coincidence @emma278 that my SIL (Harriet) just had a baby Charlotte. Both excellent names!

MooseWL · 13/06/2020 13:52

@emma278 I dream of leaving the house for long enough for that to be an issue 😛

Roxy8203 · 13/06/2020 14:33

We call the bump keith. No way that's sticking

pangolin84 · 13/06/2020 16:19

@MooseWL Thanks for the TotsBots tip-off, I’ve just ordered a trial pack. They look pretty good so I hope the little one gets on with them. I also splashed out on a cheeky wipes kit. Trying to go all-in with the reusables!

The bump is currently nicknamed Podge.

MooseWL · 13/06/2020 17:05

Hahaha Keith and Podge 😂

@pangolin84 my friend recommended the totsbots nappies she uses those and little lamb ones as well but obviously different things work for different people.
I got a cheeky wipes kit too a few weeks ago.

Just ordered a cotbed and changing unit! I feel like such an adult. Now can go back to ignoring it until it comes at the end of July!
