@Lilice it's just like a tightening sensation...my whole belly goes rock hard as well! Normally just a bit uncomfortable but seem of these ones have been bordering on painful! And yes nothing like the actual contractions I had in labour as they were all in my back haha. In fact with my first I went in to be induced and when they put me on the monitor they pointed out I was already having contractions and hadn't I noticed?! Blush well no I hadnt because I had assumed they would just feel like stronger Braxton Hicks haha.

MooseWL · 09/06/2020 08:26

My baby was having some kind of rave at 2am and then again at 6am this morning 🙈🙄 getting me used to wake up times in the night.

Margo34 · 09/06/2020 10:16

@MooseWL I've had that for a few weeks now, I feel for you! But last night was the first time in aaaages I actually slept through the whole night! My DH alarm went off this morning and I genuinely thought it was a Sunday I was so disorientated. 🙈🙉

Sara7455 · 09/06/2020 12:03

My turn to spend the day in the hospital, just had my BP checked at my 28 week appointment and next thing I was being shipped off to maternity assessment for the day. Baby seems fine so hopefully nothing to worry about - midwife seems more confused about my complete lack of symptoms with how high my BP has shot. Fingers crossed all ok!

Lazydaisydaydream · 09/06/2020 14:01

@Sara7455 oh no! Fingers crossed everything is fine and you get to go home soon. Do you normally have high blood pressure?

Lilice · 09/06/2020 15:37

Hope everything is ok @Sara7455

You're so lucky @Margo34 I'm barely sleeping at the moment 🥴

Lilice · 09/06/2020 16:16

@Lazydaisydaydream oh you had back labour as well? Was your baby back to back?

Lazydaisydaydream · 09/06/2020 20:32

@Lilice yes he was back to back, and then unfortunately as labour progressed he was face presentation and body at a funny angle so had to be rushed for an EMCS as they were worried pushing him down would break his neck Shock. All fine though and he was born healthy. Hoping for a vbac this time but will be getting regular position checks to make sure same thing doesn't happen again (although is so rare they've said they can almost guarantee it won't).

Sara7455 · 09/06/2020 20:46

Staying in the hospital overnight so they can get my BP under control. Consultant has said it’s pre-eclampsia so lots of tests and observation in our future but baby is doing just fine so hopefully it can stay cooking away for as long as possible. Hoping I don’t have to stay in for too long - hospital food is not the best!

@Lazydaisydaydream that sounds so stressful with your little boy! Hopefully this time around will be much smoother for you.

MooseWL · 09/06/2020 21:08

Eek hope you're okay, how are you feeling?
Good that the baby seems to be fine! Get someone to bring you snacks in!

Lilice · 09/06/2020 21:33

Oh ko @Sara7455, hope you're ok! At least you are in good hands, and glad to hear your baby is fine. Hopefully your BP will quickly get under control and you can go home soon xx

Sara7455 · 09/06/2020 21:39

I’m feeling ok, wouldn’t have known anything was wrong if I hadn’t had my 28week check this morning. Eventful day so I’m tired now but otherwise not too bad. They let OH bring me an overnight bag and some snacks, and I was allowed to nip out so he could see I’m alive but there’s a strict no visitors on the ward policy so it’ll be nice to get home as soon as I can!

Lazydaisydaydream · 09/06/2020 21:47

@sara7455 wow thank goodness they did that appointment face to face and were able to do those checks! If it helps to hear of positive stories, one of my friends had Pre eclampsia and ended up induced at 38 weeks, both mum and baby absolutely fine. Is there medication they can give you?

Sara7455 · 09/06/2020 21:52

They’ve put me on medication to bring my BP down and want to check they’ve got the dose right before I’m allowed to go home, which seems reasonable. They’ve also given me steroids just in case baby needs an early arrival so they’re covering all bases.
Positive stories definitely helping thank you @Lazydaisydaydream - have been sent a few from friends this evening so I guess it’s fairly common. Very glad they did the 28 week face to face though! At least I’m being monitored now

ShiningStarz · 09/06/2020 22:05

Great to hear you are ok @Sara7455 I hope you get some rest in the hospital tonight.
Highlights the importance of the checks some of us are missing because of stupid covid!! Gp's can do BP checks, we should all be going every few weeks. Hope you get out soon and glad you are being well looked after x

ChipsAreLife · 09/06/2020 22:11

Oh goodness @Sara7455 you poor thing. What a shock. Sounds like you're in the best place and hopefully you can get home sooner than later. At least you've got some things and snacks with you now. I hope you can get some rest. Is the ward quiet?

Agree with @ShiningStarz this is why apps are so important!!

@ShiningStarz definitely agree this is why apps are so important! Literally wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t seen the midwife this morning.

@ChipsAreLife thank you. I was in a private room while they waited for my covid check to come back negative but on the ward now with just one other lady so hopefully will manage some sleep between them checking on me every couple of hours.

HugeAgeGap · 09/06/2020 23:04

What a scare @Sara7455 hopefully you get a restful night and they can get your meds under control and back home again sharpish in the morning xx

OrDis · 10/06/2020 08:15

Ah @Sara7455 i’m glad you are ok and that it’s been picked up and I hope you managed to get some rest. Fingers crossed they’ll let you go home today.

Sara7455 · 10/06/2020 08:41

Morning! Thanks all, BP still not quite under control this morning although it was ok in the night. just waiting for the doctors to come on their round with a decision about what they want to do next! Midwives doing a great job of making sure I’m looked after though

WillowT · 10/06/2020 08:42

Hope everything is okay now @Sara7455 This is what I have been worried about regarding not having checks. I have my 28 weeks at the end of the month and fortunately it is back to face to face. Hope everyone else is doing well :)

Sara7455 · 10/06/2020 08:52

That’s good news that your 28 week is face to face @WillowT hopefully most places will be doing the same from that point in your pregnancy. Horrible to be the example but clearly proving it’s necessary here!
Fingers crossed for the rest of you having uncomplicated check ups!

Chanel05 · 10/06/2020 10:06

Thinking of you @Sara7455 and wishing you all the best.

Piper1879 · 10/06/2020 11:59

Sending hugs to you @sara7455 !! It's horrible to be in but you're in the right place
