Hi, thanks for the new thread.

Not planning to get any formula in advance, but will use it if needed. I'd rather avoid if I can cos DS ended up with cow's milk allergy. He was given formula for a few days in neonatal until I was able to express enough for his feeds, then we were able to establish breastfeeding. He refused all bottles, so I couldn't have given him any, even if I wanted to 🙄😂 Expressing is hard work, and I agree with the others, that breastfeeding at the expense of your sanity just isn't right.

I've been going out for walks most days with DH and DS but really struggling with them now. Have to walk at about 0.0003 miles an hour and stop loads. Very annoying. I'm still managing pilates though - I usually go to a class, and the instructor is doing them all online at the minute.

I had carpal tunnel last time, weirdly have escaped it so far this time. Wrist splints at night definitely helped.

I've got my bag mostly packed. Last time, I was admitted at 32+, so want to be prepared. Thankfully, things seem to be going better this time round, so hopefully won't need it for a while.

@LillianFullStop I can't work out how to edit the spreadsheet as I'm on my phone. Would you mind adding me to 14th June please? Sex = surprise :)

SerBrienneOfHouseTarth · 16/04/2020 20:46

Thanks @AndddddHerewegoagain for the advice. We used C&G last time because son had Cow Milk Protein Allergy and we got it prescribed so just decided to go for that this time too! Though hopefully not another CMPA situation. Plus it's cheaper than Aptamil and has a scoop clip and leveller in the lid - handy!

Will look into wrist splints too!

Rinoa · 16/04/2020 21:05

@SerBrienneOfHouseTarth I've got a sore hand too but I think it's more to do with playing PlayStation 😂

Mj2196 · 16/04/2020 21:05

@LillianFullStop exactly the same as @SerBrienneOfHouseTarth above ! could you add me for June 14th with team yellow 💛

I’ve been getting through ridiculous amounts of gaviscon . ashamed to admit swinging from the bottle in the middle of the night is becoming a regular thing🙈

I won’t be taking formula to hospital, didn’t with dd either . Am going to try and get a few syringes this time though for if anything goes wrong & I can’t be with baby/ feed straight away as I know dp won’t be able to pop out (if hes even there) but my midwife assured me the hospital will help feed / express .

Magpiefeather · 16/04/2020 21:44

I had to take my engagement and wedding ring off today which makes me a bit sad! They were getting tight and I started to get worried about getting them stuck! Anyone else had to take rings off yet? I didn’t think I had swelled but obviously I have!

Firsttimerat35 · 16/04/2020 21:47

Tha is fir the new thread! Good to read about peoples plans for formula feeding...I want to do a combination so that DH can help but was just all in my head as a nice idea really - its nice to read some advice!! How was the clapping for the NHS for everyone tonight?? Inthink we finally saw all our neighbours out rather than just one or two!!

Firsttimerat35 · 16/04/2020 21:51

Love the spreadsheet!! Didnt even realise that was a thing!! How do we add??

newbyxx · 16/04/2020 22:06

@LillianFullStop @AmyMaria2 where did you get your starter packs?

I've packed my hospital bag just needing to add snacks drinks and going home outfit.
Had another growth scan today due to reduced movements last weekend and he's at top end of growth chart estimated 5lb 2oz 💙

@Mj2196 and @SerBrienneOfHouseTarth I've added you both! . @Firsttimerat35 you should be able to edit now but depending on your phone you might need to get the Google Sheets app? Or I can add for you I don't mind.

@newbyxx I ordered mine directly from the Hipp website. With DD I was able to get the Aptamil in-store from Boots or online from Ocado - but not sure if Ocado are releasing slots anymore unless you're vulnerable/isolating. Quite handy in the early days if you only need for top ups so you don't need to worry about sterilising bottles etc. I just gave it to DD at room temperature.

Pegase · 16/04/2020 22:34

@Magpiefeather yes I took my rings off about a month ago. Combination of slight pregnancy swelling and constant COVID-19 handwashing was making my ring finger very sore.

Zoey92 · 16/04/2020 22:48

Seems like most people are swaying to cow & gate that are not breastfeeding?

Been very out of breath today & very tired.
@Firsttimerat35 the clapping in my area is absolutely amazing i get emotional every week.

AmyMaria2 · 16/04/2020 23:26

@newbyxx I got mine from Tesco! And Tin of formula from there as well xx

@Zoey92 yeah from the little bit of research I did I think cow and gate seems the best option. Hoping to breast feed though so hopefully won't need them! X

UKtoSK · 17/04/2020 02:58

Thanks for the new thread!

Just had a check up and baby is doing well, doctor said no reason to worry about her moving so much, it just means she’s happy and healthy! I barely slept last night because she was wriggling so much so it’s a relief that she’s healthy at least, I can handle the tiredness so long as she’s ok!

Anyone else still getting hungry in the middle of the night? I had a few periods of extreme hunger in the second trimester where I’d be having to eat at 3am and then it went away but it has come back this week.

@Magpiefeather I have had to take my rings off, none of them for over my knuckles now and are too tight 🙁

Gigitree · 17/04/2020 06:40

@Magpiefeather yeah I took my rings of a while ago. Last year I had really bad swelling in my hand after injuring my arm and had to have my rings cut off 😭😭😭 so I was really paranoid about that happening again do took them off about a month or so ago, even though I think they’d still fit fine now, I don’t want to risk it!

Gigitree · 17/04/2020 06:41

Yes @UKtoSK I’ve started having lighter meals in the evening to stop my indigestion in the middle of the night, but that’s just led to midnight hunger!

Magpiefeather · 17/04/2020 07:29

Glad it’s not just me with the expanding fingers!

I also have a middle of the night snack quite often, otherwise I’ll be sick in the morning!

peetieswie · 17/04/2020 08:00

Also took rings off a while ago. I figured seeing as I wasn't leaving the house there was no point wearing them, and I was worried about the virus getting stuck on them, or all the hand washing ruining them. Not tried to put them on for a while. I've also had about three incredibly intense dreams a night since I got pregnant. The only time I don't dream is if I nap. I can remember individual thoughts and conversations from the dreams. It'd exhausting.

Also, as much as I hate lockdown, anyone else think, 'how the hell would I cope at work at the moment?' I do a bit of gardening and my ankles are enormous! And I definitely feel like I'm waddling around and exhausted. Yet if it wasnt for lockdown I'd definitely be going in five days a week for the next 6 weeks at least!?

mrssunshinexxx · 17/04/2020 08:20

Can't wait for lock down restrictions to be lifted hopefully around antenatal care and so we can see immediate family in time for babies coming x

mrssunshinexxx · 17/04/2020 08:21

Anyone managed to order on next I can get a slot no problem but everything I need is out of stock 🤯

Busylizzie85 · 17/04/2020 08:27

@mrssunshinexxx I managed to get a lot from Tu at Sainsbury’s depending on what you need!

mrssunshinexxx · 17/04/2020 08:32

@Busylizzie85 ooh really online ?
I need couple new born hats and scratch mitts , 2 cardigans, some 0-3 t shirts, blanket, sun hat, and some huge knickers for me Grin

Busylizzie85 · 17/04/2020 08:48

Yes online I managed to get some vests and some hats but they have essential kits when I looked which had a bit of everything in. Hopefully they still have stock.

LillianFullStop · 17/04/2020 08:52

I've stopped wearing my ring mainly because I haven't been leaving the house!

Weird dream last night - Prince Harry was handing me a delicious looking chocolate chip cookie but he'd taken a bite off it and I was thinking oh no coronavirus!!! but then I ate it anyway because 1 it looked delicious and 2 it was royal coronavirus Grin what does it all mean? probably just that I want chocolate chip cookies no matter the cost haha!
