J20 ? I have a baby bjorn and loved it. Got it on eBay for £16 ? bargain! If we didn?t have that though I think I would get a hug-a-bub one as the ones I?ve seen look great. Not cheap though and don?t really go for any cheaper on ebay?

Orange ? can understand your worries about the logistics of everything. I am very lucky ? dh is only 10-15 mins away out of rush hour and the hospital is midway between us ? he could run there in about the same time if needed! My mum arrived on Tues to stay till after lo is born too in case he put in an early appearance ? both sets of parents live over 4 hours away. Of course it helps that I?m having an elective section! I guess if it all kickmed off early you would have to call an ambulance and take dd with you ? and I guess if it was so quick noone arrived in time you wouldn?t have time to worry about dh not being there! If you see what I mean! Fingers crossed all works out?. Just to let you know though that lots of taxi companies up here wouldn refuse to take a woman in labour apparently? Didn?t have to test it last time!

Choc ? glad you?re at home today ? hope you have a chance for some rest.

Ejt ? great news on the quilt! This am I slept until 10.30 ? heaven! Sorry your lie in was scupperered. Have a good day?

Well my mum is rushing around doing loads of cleaning while I sit on my arse on MN!!! Feel a bit guilty but actually she is really pleased to help and we don?t have the sort of relationship where I feel awkward. Would be different if I wasn?t about to have a baby but I am! We are making a blackout blind for ds?s new room which is currently the guest room later ? hopefully we won?t need it though as we have my parents and then my sister coming to stay off and on until late Nov so it would be great if Adam is still in with us till then otherwise will be a bit of a squeeze! Never mind ? sure we?ll manage!

Last might Adam was wriggling around like mad when I went to bed ? looked like there was an alien in my tummy! He moves a lot when I first go to bed at the mo and I love it. Really great for dh too. Last time it was a bit surreal (don?t know if you first timers find that too?) but this time as we know what results it just seems so magical. Also enjoying the last few days of this as we?re not going to be having any more children after. So 4 more sleeps (max) that we have this?.

Off to get dressed (yes I am sitting in my dressing gown as well as doing nothing!) and make the blind ? will be back on later at some point?

ejt-that quilt is lovely and ds is gorgeous!! aw, you all look so happy in the pics[sob]

think i'm going to start doing a jigsaw, nothing else to do apart from bounce on my ball

wonder where Alice is, surely she can't be out doing RL!

ChocolateHobnob · 28/09/2007 11:25

Thanks for the cramp advice!

Ejt - your son is so cute!!! Lovely pictures. I can't believe you've finished your list - will lo know and come along later???

Where IS Alicet? I'm her text buddy and haven't heard anything. Her mum's here so maybe she's busy.

J20, how's your hair looking now?

I've been working, trying not to distract myself too much. At home there are all sorts of better options!

alicet · 28/09/2007 11:25

Ejt - cross posted - just checked out your profile page - ds is very very cute and your quilt is gorgeous.

alicet · 28/09/2007 11:26

Ha ha choc and J20 - cross posted - good to hear you're missing me though!

emj23 · 28/09/2007 11:26

Hello all, just thought I'd make an appearance on here again as I am now quite convinced my LO is not going to be a September baby. Hope you're all well and as comfy as possible

J2OBABY · 28/09/2007 11:27

aha! they you are! knew you couldn't stay away for long!

the only reason i ask is that there is one FFP, not sure how much postage is, but i'm currently bidding on this one its on £1.70 atm with £2 p+p, only want it for in a morning to stick her in it to walk to school, rather than mess about getting the pram out.

ChocolateHobnob · 28/09/2007 11:29

Good, Alice, you are here - we cross posted!

Glad the blind making is going well. And you do have the right to sit back and relax this week - this time next week it'll be such a different story! So exciting.

I am intrigued by your repeated insistence that you won't have any more children! Best laid plans, and all that...

OK, I have a dilemma. A friend and colleague lent us her family crib - it's been in the family for ages. We borrowed it in July. Since then I've realized it doesnt conform to current safety standards etc and we bought a Moses basket. Now, do I tell her we wont use it and why, or do I not? If I don't, what do I do if she comes to the house and wants to see it??

alicet · 28/09/2007 11:34

Thats the same as mine J20 - it has been great. If I was going to use it more often I would get the active one as there is more back support and its doesn't get too hot (although less of a prob for Oct babies). But like you I used it occasionally so it was perfect.

Choc - who knows about the more children thing! Definately not part of either mine or dh's plans but if we changed our minds then we would talk about it. Just can't see it happening though. Hate being pregnant - could be persuaded on the 3rd if dh could do that bit!!!! Not sure about your friend though - If you think she would be offended why not just give it back to her and say that you have been given the moses basket by your mum as a present (or someone else who would keep the story going if they met her!) so are going to use that instead? If she would take the honesty I would probably just tell her the truth - afterall it might affect whether she was happy to use it in the future herself (if thats a possibility)

J2OBABY · 28/09/2007 11:35

hmm choc can you have it up somewhere just in case she comes? whats wrong with it? i mean what doesn't conform..etc.

my hair is looking better!

only 3 more days for lo's to be Sept babies!

Kittiwake · 28/09/2007 11:36

Mornng everyone

Ejt quilt is lovely and DC very cute, I love Stackple quay Barafundle is such a special place haven't been for a while though we tend to go to Penbryn now near to Llangranog have you been there? Also a lovely unspoilt NT beach.

J20- i have bought a BB and a hug-a-bub both from e-bay I know I don't need both got carried away can't say which is best yet of corse but have tried with teddy bear and hugabub v. comfy but I think DH will use BB so probably more useful.

WinnieThePooh · 28/09/2007 11:36

My bedding hung out and DD's bedding now in the machine.

Have made up the bed in my office for my mum for when she arrives next week. Just need to get the other side of the room sorted now so I can get thew other bed out for my day for the following weekend.

MIl is tackling DD's bedroom and playroom and remaking her

ejt. I won't do too much as the comuter is in my office so will take regular breaks to give you progress reports.

J2OBABY · 28/09/2007 11:37

hi Emj

meant to say, anyone been having a problem with the pelvic floor? i had a bit of an accident earlier oh the joys of motherhood!

alicet · 28/09/2007 11:40

Choc - another option is to have the crib downstairs for use during the day (unless you are too worried about it) - friends have said it has been really useful to have somewhere both up and down where you can put your baby if you need to do something. Of course with a first that can be just lying on the carpet! Hope you get it sorted - you don't want to have to worry about remembering to get it out when she comes round with everything else that is going on!!!

Ejt - love the quilt, and ds is very cute.

J20 - Yes probably is wishful thinking I'm feeling very uncomfortble with bump today, feels like stitch in my left hand side, and all my trousers are digging into under the bump, may have to walk around in my knickers at this rate

I reckon I am definitely going to go into Oct now though.

I managed to change the beds this morning, and have done a couple loads of washing and drying, just need to iron it all now. Was hoping ds would have a nap after nursery but he seems very wide awake and playful

Hello to everyone else, alicet, chocolate and winnie, hope you are having a good day

MrsFish · 28/09/2007 13:33

Inzi - good luck for later, hope everything is ok and they are just being over cautious. x

unicorn · 28/09/2007 13:36

oh inzi, you poor thing monitoring is such a worry isn't it?... but it's for the best really.

I am being monitored/traced 2x a week now (growth slowed down in last scan)and doctor said if the next scan showed more slowing then would have to think about induction/caesarian.

Just keep an eye on things yourself, make sure movements haven't slowed down.
Traces are only one indicator...
Try and rest, and not worry too much (easier said I know)

xxx

WinnieThePooh · 28/09/2007 14:14

Hi all,

Still sorting out office. MIl has taken about 5 boxes of recylcing away for me.

Inzi - hopefully they are just being cautious and LO will be fine.

Unicorn - hopefully LO's growth will be fine at your next appointment.

Hope everyone else is well.

alicet · 28/09/2007 15:06

Inzi - thinking of you honey - fingers crossed all well with lo. And remember you will be in the best place for them to keep an eye on you both. If they had been that worried about them then they wouldn't have let you go home until 5.30... Keep us informed - we'll be thinking of you.

Hope the rest of you are having good days... Mum and I have been trying to make the blackout panels for ds's new room. Not gone entirely according to plan so having a break for a cuppa and a chill! Think all will be OK though - fingers crossed!

ejt1764 · 28/09/2007 15:32

Thanks for all the nice comments ...

have been to the acupuncturist - she just nudged me gently this afternoon ... am going back tomorrow and on Sunday for progressively stronger treatments ...

inzi - thinking of you - hope all goes well.

alicet · 28/09/2007 16:07

I'm not surprised it broke your heart reading it inzi - I am almost crying reading your last post and I haven't had to go through anything like that. Just be reassured that they are admitting you tonight because its the safest thing for your lo and that if they had been really worried you would not have been allowed to go home and get your stuff. Big hugs and we'll all be thinking of you... Is your dh with you?

greedygreedyguzzler · 28/09/2007 16:09

crossed with you inzi - dont know what to say really....... so just big hugs to you.
