alicet · 26/09/2007 19:15

Glad you're OK J20! Inzi - I was more worried as she is on her almost as often as me so I thought the fact she wasn't was more significant!!!!

Look after yourself though J20 - take it easy and hope you sleep better to ease your headache x

hope everyone else sleeps well

ess · 26/09/2007 19:27

Can you add me on please Mumpbump, at some point. Am due 5th Oct- girl(DD2).
Hope you're all well. I've caught virus off DD1 and had it 2 weeks now- rotten. GP said I couldnt take any decongestants and its really getting me down now. The thought of going into labour feeling like this doesn't bear thinking about.
Have a nice evening everyone.

Hello all! Congratulations on the latest arrivals - can't believe how thick and fast they're coming...

LES - I wonder how many more babies will be delivered by ambulance technicians on this thread - NOT many, I hope!!

Apricott - I am a disposable user so can't offer any comment on reusables, but someone said the same thing to me about different ones suiting different body shapes so definitely worth trying out a few before making a big investment...

J2O - pleased to hear that all is well with you. Are you taking it a bit easier now that all your decorating is finished (I think)?

Alicet - ds is also very daddy-orientated at the moment which is great in one way, but quite sad in another as I have very few cuddles with him at the moment. Having two is quite challenging - haven't really had to work out how to manage them both yet - but ds seems very smitten with Joseph so with the similar age gap, I hope your ds will be similarly taken with the lo... If I don't manage to post before next week, good luck with the section...

Everything fine here. Joseph sleeps a lot, a lot - think the longest he's been awake so far is about 20 minutes, but am getting lots of cuddles in. He feeds very irregularly at the moment and goes for 5 hours between feeds overnight after cluster feeding in the early part of the evening. I was worried about his feeding/weight, but his birth weight was 7lb 3oz and at 6 days, he is now 7lb so pretty minimal weight loss to my surprise. He hasn't taken to bf as well as ds though and struggled to feed from one side in particular as a result of which I have slight nipple trauma - had forgotten all the joys of early parenthood!! Have been out for a couple of walks with him in his sling - I'm just so glad the weather is still nice as I hate being stuck at home all day...

Anyway, I wait with bated breath to see who is next... I reckon it's got to be between J2O and EJT at the moment, but who knows!!

Best wishes to all of you!! Am off to have a look for the postnatal thread...

J2OBABY · 26/09/2007 19:31

hey Inzi-are you saying we don't have a life!?!

although, Alice is still working i think so that'd just be me without a life then

WinnieThePooh · 26/09/2007 19:34

Hi there,

J2), I hope a sleep will see off the headache. I know it usuaully help me.Alicet - my text buddies are MrsFish & collywobbles, but I have the numbers for J2O and Jersey as they were worried the other week. I may email you anyway as it is always nice to keep in touch with others on here.

Backache seems to be easing off a bit so I don't think I will be needing to text anyone tonight.

I might have a bath and an early nigh, so don't worry if you don't see anything more from me on here tonight.

Mumpbump · 26/09/2007 19:34

Right - couldn't find a postnatal thread so have started on here...

ChocolateHobnob · 26/09/2007 19:37

Congratulations Jersey! I like the name Thomas.

And looking forward to news of Floria and Kezza.

Ess - poor you with a virus! Not so long till 5 October now though, keep thinking that.

J20 you had me worried as I read through all the posts and then found out you're just shattered. I know the feeling!

Alicet, glad the hospital apptment went well. Are you enjoying having your mum there?

Inzi/Apricott, I think you're brave on the reusables! Let us know how it goes.

I went to see the mw again this am to have bp checked and it was fine. So I didn't have to return to hospital! I went to work and managed a good day except that I nearly missed a meeting! I was sat at my PC typing a document and didn't notice my Outlook calendar telling me I was overdue for a meeting! Oops. Never mind - I got there.

I'm 35 weeks now. Still ages to go! But have yet to buy stuff for the hosp bag so really need to get on with it.

Have a good evening all!

J2OBABY · 26/09/2007 19:37

mump-great to hear from you, glad its going well

yes have finished decorating thank you, dying of boredom now!

ChocolateHobnob · 26/09/2007 19:38

PS: Has anyone heard from designerbaby lately?

Mumpbump · 26/09/2007 19:40

How's the baby blanket going? I made one for Joseph and cast on too many stitches so it's about 2 m long!! Took bluddi ages to do as well and 4 balls of wool costing £10.50 each! Got a bit carried away with the wool. Not sure expensive wool is really a good idea for a baby blanket...

WinnieThePooh · 26/09/2007 19:41

Ess, have you got the mobile number of someone on here. ejt had been organising us, but I think she has matched everyone up now. If you need a buddy, email me on janreid2003 @ yahoo.co.uk(without spaces) and I will give you my mobile number.

J20 ? I?m not working ? haven?t been for a couple of weeks! Wish I could get a job that would let me post as often!!!!

Mump ? glad to hear things are going well for you. Have been particularly interested in how your ds coped with it all as mine is the same age so great to hear he?s been smitten! Your stories of bf really sound similar to how things were with ds. Fingers crossed all improves with time ? things did for me. Nice one on postnatal thread too!

Winnie ? glad you have other text buddies to keep us nosy ones posted on any exciting developments! Very happy for you to add me to your list if you like though!

Choc ? glad to hear your bp has settled down. Must have been your dash to the mw last week! Glad your work not too bad too?

Hoping for a relaxing evening tonight... Ds still chattering a bit as we try to settle him but optimistic that he will go to sleep OK - been a little harder than normal to settle him of late...

J2OBABY · 26/09/2007 19:48

hi choc, makes me quite emotional when my MN family worry about me{sob}

who asked about reusables? i got some of these from Boots in the sale, they where meant to be £50 and got them for £25, pretty annoyed that i've just found them for £18 but never mind. never used them before so don't know what they're like.

right i'm off to bed now, if anything exciting happens, someone text me! otherwise i will be back in morning

J2OBABY · 26/09/2007 19:53

will you all stop chatting! i'm trying to go to bed.

mump-if that was to me about the blanket, erm, i never started it by the time i'd finished dds blanket my carpal tunnel had kicked in, have given the wool to my friends mum to do hopefully bl00dy hell at how much yours cost, my set was £1.99

right i'm really off now!

orangecat · 26/09/2007 20:41

Hey all

Hormones making me desparate for this baby to come out (due in 2 weeks). Keep getting braxton hicks and thinking come on! But in my head I just know I'm going to go over...

J20 - glad it wasn't pre-e. Phew. Oh, and just wanted to say that the raspberry leaf tablets are having the same effect on me, combined with the colour that the iron tablets is making it, not v pretty (sorry, TMI)

mrs fish - good luck with trying to bring things on. If you find anything that works do let those of us who are 'pending' know.

On reusables, I tried out Bambino Mio last time, but didn't get on with them at all well. Got sick of them leaking and having to change entire outfits. Thing about reusables is that once you have bought and not got on well, it's just too expensive to start trying out other brands. Would like to say that I'd try again this time, but completely put off from last time.
inzi - midwife

Nothing else to report. DD at nursery tomorrow, so am going to attempt to make some roman blinds for her room...

Heroes tonight

Oh, and I'm sure you've all seen the other threads, but did anybody watch 'Bringing Up Baby' last night? Think it's going to be a good series to see how people find the different methods but, my god, couldn't believe the one on the strict routine!

orangecat · 26/09/2007 20:42

Just noticed i didn't finish my inzi note - just to say at mw behaviour during your class

Winniethepooh, I've emailed you. Thanks so much for that. Just had a bath with Clary Sage oil in (was told this may help but does any of it really??). Going to lay on sofanow and watch "Torn" with large bar of galaxy. Night night everyone.
