Hello everyone. Chatty as ever! Great to hear form you LES, all sounds as if it's going really well now which is so good to hear. Lisa, your pics are just lovely and were a good reminder of what is to come!

there is so much news from everyone else I can't possibly remember - sorry! HOpe you're all well though. oh inzi, I too would wait on the hair front - a bad haircut at this point in the game could be the end

well we started the morning ok, but then both DS and I were in tears by 8.30. Not good - total meltdown from me after he dropped a big, heavy car on my foot (he'd also already accidentally head butted me this morning too which was so painful I thought he'd broken my nose). Me crying totally freaked him out so we were both there cuddling and sobbing for a while. I felt terrible afterwards. just awful. But thankfully his childminder comes for a couple of hours on a Tues am so she took him out and I managed to get it together a bit more. I read my diary from when I was pregnant with him and it would seem that these hormonal extremes are very common at this point, which is reassuring. Just don't really want to be doing it on my own with a 2 yr old! Can't cope with the guilt and crap parenting feeling on top of everything else!!
mrsfish, I know your DS is the same age - how are you coping?? would be interested to hear -

right - I am determined to have a better afternoon than the last 24 hours. I'll let you know!!have a good afternoon ladies and Floria, still thinking of you!

j20baby · 25/09/2007 13:34

omg their's no way i can remember what everyone has said!

lisa-sh'es lovely, looks just like her big sis!

welcome back LES

inzi-personally i go anywhere to have my hair cut, but that is because i am a tramp, can understand why others said wait though, sorry you're feeling crappy, i think a big bar of chocolate and a comedy is in order for you

alice-hope you have a lovely lunch

ejt-glad your getting to have a nice nap and choc in bed, make sure you do rest if you're swollen, my ankles and hands are terrible, can't wait to be able to wear trainers again, instead of flip plops all the time.

FT-hope your ok and its all going well

i', really sorry to leave people out but i just can't keep up with you all today!

this morning, i've cleaned the floors and kitchen, been to see future sil (so flaming fussy about everything!) and been to Asda, now i'm just browsing the net whilst eating dolly mixture, not the horrid brown ones though, eugh!

while on the subject of the cord, who's everyone have cutting theirs? i thought i might cut my own, if i feel up to it!

MrsFish · 25/09/2007 14:02

Nellie - I think I am coping ok, ds is generally being an angel at the moment which is very gratifying as a few weeks ago he was being a nightmare and making me really upset. Heis being very cuddly and kissy which is ace, I love it. He has been at nursery this morning so I managed a bit of shopping after dropping him off, and then have been sitting onthe computer sorting out loads of photos and some music for my ipod for hospital, so that couple of hours went mighty quick. Went and picked him up and bought him home, whereupon he decided to climb on the chair in the kitchen and fall of whacking his head on the floor, I think he gave himself quite a headache, not helped by the tears. Managed to rock him off to sleep though, where he still is at the moment on the sofa, so here I am again Having another lazy today, in fact may go hand have a lie down on the other sofa myself

J20 - reg cord cutting, dh did Sam and will do Ben too. I don't think I could do it, too squeamish [shudder]

dal21 · 25/09/2007 14:26

Hi everyone!!

Just thought I would pop on quickly and say hi to everyone. I havent had a chance to read all the posts but hugs to all those feeling uncomfortable and congrats to all those who have already delivered. It is weird to think that I wasnt due til this Friday and Ryan will be 3 weeks old already! It has flown by!

I am feeling really great. Feels as though the shock of having a newborn has worn off and the initial moments of 'oh my god' and feeling a tad overwhelmed have worn off. Am loving my new life and loving being a mum. Think hormones settling down and the support I have round me has helped tons.

Am sure the more down days will come but am currently just enjoying feeling like me!

alicet · 25/09/2007 14:34

Inzi ? Give your mum a call honey! Sure she would be gutted to hear you?re missing her at this time but don?t want to be a PITA and call. Wouldn?t you be gutted if a few years down the line your lo didn?t call you in similar circumstances? She may think that SHE doesn?t want to be the PITA and in your face!

Ejt ? hope you manage to get some sleep this afternoon!

Nellie ? big hugs to you and your ds? Sure it can only get better! X

J20 ? Presumably whoever does my section cuts it! Dh was going to last time if things had gone to plan. Think its an excellent plan to do it yourself!

Well I havehad a lovely lunch with my mate although buzzing on the coffee now! Only had 2 lattes too! Oh well! Also got a call from my consultants secretary ? can?t remember if I had mentioned I wasn?t very happy that I didn?t know who was meant to be doing my section?. Anyway I?d sent an email yesterday to ask to meet with the consultant who was doing it before the big day and I not have an appointment for Monday afternoon. So pretty relieved about that really.

And my mum is due in about an hour. So off to go do some jobs and will see you all later?.

alicet · 25/09/2007 14:36

dal - cross posted! Great to hear you sounding so fab and enjoying life as a new mum. Fantastic! Can I ask a question? I am due to have an elective section a week today.... Do you need many maternity pads after? Did last time but it was an emergency one and I'd got to 9cm first. Absolutely no idea what to expect after this one!

j20baby · 25/09/2007 16:00

hi all, well i was rudely awaken from my nap by dd's school, wanting me to go collect her as the Drama club had been cancelled, they had left a answer phone message on my mobile, but i'd forgotton to give them my new mobile-whoops! needless to say, dd is not very happy with me, and got a right attitude on her atm, she also says ger teacher keeps making snide remarks to her, hope its just teething problems and she settles in soon!

dal-great to hear you're enjoying being a mummy

alice-i asked that same question a while ago, apparantly you do still need to use maternity pads, but don't take my word for it, i'm sure someone else will know for sure

ejt1764 · 25/09/2007 16:20

Feel much better now I've had a sleep ... I must have been tired, as I usually find it really difficult to get to sleep during the day! Hope it doesn't have a knock-on effect tonight, and stop me getting off to sleep later ...

alice - glad to hear you had a good lunch - and that you've got an appointment with the person doing your section - it seems only faireally!

nellie - repeat after me "this too will pass, this too will pass" - I really don't envy all of you with toddlers at the moment!

j20 - enjoy your dolly mixtures - I have eaten a dairy milk and a packet of aero bubbles this afternoon - [yum] but [guilty]!

As for the cord, we'll see how we feel at the time - dh may want to cut it, he may not ... I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to do it though ...

dal - lovely to hear from you!

MrsFish - lazy days rule ok!!

Right, going to pick ds up then going to have an early tea, as it's Welsh tonight - really looking forward to it!

alicet · 25/09/2007 17:41

ejt - glad you feel better after some rest!

J20 - thanks for your tip! I do have some pads anyway as they don't cost much - just wanted to know if I need to stockpile them like last time or if the couple of packs I have will suffice!

Anyway, mum here now so off to be sociable! Also ds will be back from nursery soon.... May be back on later...

j20baby · 25/09/2007 18:37

hi guys

just had to pop to hospital as rung up to see if i could use a pessary for thrush, and they said if my waters are leaking, i need checking yep, thats why i rung yesterday morning!! anyway, apparantly they haven't, it is thrush and that what is causing all the cm and water, so i can use the pessary. the mw really hurt me when she took the spectulum out though, i screamed! so now i'm not sure if i've had a show or not, but still getting cramps, am going to have a nice warm bath and a lazy night, will have a nosy at that 'bringing up baby' programme.

hope you all have a nice evening

orangecat · 25/09/2007 18:40

Hi all

Lovely to hear about and see pix of those cute new babies.

Kitti and Mrs F - I'm also loving Heroes. Hoping you'll have reception before tomorrow, K. I remember when Virgin lost Sky One and deprived me of Lost. Not a happy bunny.

Not much to report today. Carpet finally sorted out - although I had to ring them to find out it had already come in on Fri. Being fitted on Tues - yippee.

Haven't had any hormonal outbreaks... yet. Don't recall having them last time (although I'm sure DH will disagree!)

Will check in again later xxx

ChocolateHobnob · 25/09/2007 19:36

Hi all

Ejt, do rest!! It sounds like you've been madly nesting and just need some down time.

J20, DD is no doubt picking up on you feeling tired/frustrated etc and exploiting it, without even knowing it! She'll be fine.

Inzi, sorry you had hormonal night and I agree about the hairdresser - bad hair would not be the way to go now! I've got a cut and colour booked in for when I'm 37 weeks or so - I doubt my hair will see blonde again after that, sadly!

Nellie, hope you're okay, and Unicorn, and Orange, and Kittiwake, and everyone else.

Nice to hear from you Dal!

Any news on our new babies?

I'm okay - been feeling not so good the last 2 days, a bit sick, but better this pm. Back off to the mw tomorrow.

Going to watch that baby programme tonight if I can stay awake! 10 is late for me these days...

Hugs to you all!

unicorn · 25/09/2007 20:05

Hi,
Just a quickie.. has everyone read Thomcat's birth story? - really lovely!
Saw consultant today (re growth) she said to try not to worry about it (ha!- I wouldn't if I hadn't been scanned so much) but I have to be monitored twice a week and will have another scan in 2 weeks.

If there is more of a dip we may have to consider caesarian - which I would rather avoid.. but can't really be silly re this.
Babe is moving fine, and everything else seems ok so keeping fingers xx.

Hope eveyyone else is fine, and coping with their new lo's!

xx

j20baby · 25/09/2007 20:11

has anyone else been feeling a bit down? this evening i just seem to be feeling an impending sense of doom, like a fog has descended.

don't know whether to cry or scream or sleep.

am feeling rather

i think i'm going to try and sleep rather than stay up and watch tv.

j20baby · 25/09/2007 20:36

btw has everyone seen Lisa's sister, sparklyGothKat has had her baby too! i think she was due in Nov

orangecat · 25/09/2007 20:54

Hi J20

Hope sleep makes you feel a bit better. I did read that bouts of pre-natal depression are entirely normal - so perhaps it's just a bit of this? Just like the baby blues you get around day 4 after giving birth.

lisad123 · 25/09/2007 21:27

Hi

Yeo your right my big sister had her baby tonight aswell. She was 33 weeks and baby was due nov.
She weighs 4lb 8oz so a good weight considering his early.
I got to be there too, so got to see him being born wow was amazing.
Both are doing well, and he isnt much bigger than Jasmine so hoping his home soon.

Hope your all well today.

WinnieThePooh · 25/09/2007 21:29

Congratulation on the birth of your nephew Lisa.

Is is all happening in your family recently with Peter's transplant and the birth of 2 babies..

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas.

ejt1764 · 25/09/2007 22:17

j20 - the mw told me (after I cried all over her this morning) that it's completely normal to be incredibly emotional and down at this point of the pg - hope you feel better soon - I find chocolate a great help!

lisad - Congratulations on the birth of your nephew! It really has been a momentous few months for your family!!

unicorn · 25/09/2007 23:04

Congratulations Aunty Lisa!! babies popping from every thread at the minute!

J20baby, try and rest and do something you enjoy to relax. It is quite normal to feel down.
I bet you are impatient to see babe (what with all these announcements etc)
It really won't be long before your turn comes!

J2OBABY · 26/09/2007 03:31

thanks all, don't know if sleep will work as i can't get any, was awake till 1.30am then up again at 3 with dioreah(which can never bloody spell!) feel really sick as well, oh the joys of pg, am going to suffer when i need to get up to get dd to school.

congratulations Lisa

MrsFish · 26/09/2007 08:07

You do know that diarroea is a sign of getting ready for launch don't you? I bet you beat me to it Hope you managed to get some more sleep x

Congrats Lisa on becoming a Mum again and an Aunt in such a short space of time

J2OBABY · 26/09/2007 09:08

hi mrsF-i've had it on and off for a week now anyway, wondering if its the raspberry leaf tablets! for some reason i've got it in my head this lo will be born on the 4th, 1 day after my EDD.

going to go shopping today, even though it is horrible weather, better than staying in all day feeling sorry for myself.

hope you all have a good day

WinnieThePooh · 26/09/2007 10:41

Morning All,

Just been to a Macmillan coffee morning at a mum from school's house. She also used it as a rummage sale to clear out some old clothes from her family. I got a couple of tops from myself and some clothes or DDl.

I have got an Avon appointment this afternoon, so am off for a shower and to get sorted for that.

Any new from Floria yet?

alicet · 26/09/2007 10:49

Unicorn ? glad they were reassuring about your lo?s growth and also that they?re keeping a close eye on the 2 of you. I?m sure you?re right that as long as lo is moving OK all is well!

J20 ? sorry you?re feeling low honey. Know what you mean ? felt a bit tearful yesterday pm too for no real reason. Pg hormones I guess.

Lisa ? pass on my best wishes to your sis and her little boy. Hope you are doing OK too honey.

Well I have an appointment at the hospital this lunchtime to have my bloods taken and to see a mw in advance of my section next week. All feeling scarily real now ? this time next week I will definitely be a mummy of 2!!!! Hit me yesterday that if I wasn?t having a section I could be waiting up to 4 weeks to have my little boy ? OMG I would go MAD!!! So really feel for those of you who are worrying about going past dates and stuff. Big hugs all round?

Will be back on later?
