OK so the insomnia strikes again but it seems you lot have been very chatty so good to catch up!

Nellie ? sorry your day continued to get worse. Fingers crossed for a better one today!

MrsF ? glad to hear you?re feeling better and sounds like you had a lovely day.

HMP ? if you see this we?re all still thinking of you ? you?re not forgotten!

Choc ? glad to hear your day wasn?t too bad

Orange ? glad to hear your dh is OK. Very annoying about the carpet though! Fingers crossed all sorted soon?

Inzi ? hope you?re feeling less hormonal today honey! Your dh sounds lovely and also sure he understands!

Lisa ? those pics of you and your 2 girls are amazing. Sorry to hear you?re knackered but I guess that?s what being a new mum involves isn?t it? Look after yourself and turn your phone off (or give it to dh so you can rest!) Thinking of you?.

Kezza ? GOOD LUCK TOMORROW!!!! Hope you?re not too nervous ? sure it doesn?t help with things being postponed? Thinking of you!

Well I ended up having a lovely night out with my mates ? as predicted! Home by 9.30 and in bed by 10 though and have actually slept pretty well until about an hour ago. At least ds is at nursery in the am so I can catch up on sleep then. Going to try and go back to bed in a min but hope the rest of you are sleeping soundly. Hello to all those I haven?t mentioned personally!

ChocolateHobnob · 25/09/2007 06:44

Floria and Kezza - how exciting!! - good luck you two! Can't believe you'll have your los with you so soon!

Lisa, those photos are gorgeous. Jasmine is so cute and Tanisha is really pretty as well. They make lovely family pics! Not surprised the phone is ringing nonstop.

J20, don't worry. I'm sure when I finish work I'll end up bored too. Or else my logic in working late was partly to avoid boredom and with the twisted hope that it might induce lo to come early or on time! Maybe you could try making some meals and posting them up north for me!!!

Mrs F, not long for you now, I'm sure. I've still got my money on tomorrow during the curry!

Orange, glad your DH is doing better. Grr about the bad service with the carpet. We're always seeming to get bad service - last week someone came to fix a minor fault in the boiler, to great expense - we discovered this week they haven't actually fixed it! Hmm.

Ejt, any signs yet??

Inzi, I get hormonally stressed too. And I'm still getting annoying bump comments. Yesterday someone at work said 'your bump is so small' in an accusatory tone, then a neighbour said 'your bump has got really big, hope you don't get much bigger'. It makes me veer between thinking lo is teeny and not growing properly and thinking it's a huge heffalump! I was five pounds something but DH, it turns out, was 8 pounds 13, which sounds big for someone of five foot 2...

Hope you all have a good day - J20, remember you can feel free to post up any goodies you rustle up in boredom!!!

And good luck to Floria and Kezza!

WinnieThePooh · 25/09/2007 08:22

Morning everyone

GOOD LUCK to Floria and Kezza for today.

I actually slept pretty well last night, only waking at 5.30 for the loo. I then managed to go back to sleeep until the alrm went off at 6.45.

I really need to get some housework done today, so I will catch up with everyone later.

Have a good day all and I hope the induction and C section go well and you are soon holding your beautiful babies.

ejt1764 · 25/09/2007 09:12

oooooh - thought it was it last night - up from 1am - 4.30am with regular contractions - only every 10 minutes ... was all for putting my mum and the doula on stand-by, only for them all to disappear ... mind you - then ds woke up - he had a monster dream, so I went into bed with him for 20 minutes - the result, I got back into bed at about 515 ... I wouldn't be up bit the midwife is coming at some point this morning!

Feeling very tearful and tired ... think I may have overdone it yesterday!

On a positive note, the study looks wonderful ... I had just tidied and sorted out, then when I went to yoga, dh hoovered and dusted (that took 2 hours in itself!), and sorted out the top 2 shelves that I can't reach (and that have his stuff on!)

Jobs for today:

  • baby quilt
  • photos (that's what I'm supposed to be doing now!)
  • sleep! (after mw has been)

Good luck Floria & Kezza!

Have a good day everybody else!

Morning ladies

It's taken me nearly an hour to catch up on the thread, and that was just skimming at times. Hope everyone's feeling ok today.

Congratulations Mump and Betsycoe!!!!

Best wishes Floria and Kezza for today.

Orangecat - sorry to hear about DH - glad all seems ok though. Mrs Fish - feel for you with that back thing - sounds awful. J20 - sorry to hear about ex and jaw and how bad you've been feeling. Big waves to everyone else!!! Could you all please stop overdoing things now? I had mw (and trainee) round yesterday to go through birth plan etc and their strong advice was to rest, rest, rest ... while you can ! We had friends over for the weekend, and even though they brought food and cooked it on Saturday night I was still exhausted by Sunday - it was good to see them though and had the added advantage that DH joined in cleaning the house on Sat morning and it's now relatively presentable and I'm not feeling the need to clean all the time any more.

Right, I'm off the look at your other threads, then back to work, then into town later to hopefully pick up a TENS machine and get one or two other bits and bobs. Then home early for nap I think - DH kept waking me up last night complaining about my snoring - I so hope it goes away after I have baby, it never used to be a problem before I was pregnant.

See you all later x

Apricott · 25/09/2007 10:28

And OMG I have to tell you this - the midwives were talking about when we wanted the cord cut and who was going to do it and all that and one of them told us about a lady she had recently who had kept the cord (and therefore the placenta too) attached to the baby until it fell off naturally!!! - some days later - wrapped in rock salt and lavender (presumably to mask the smell - eughhh!). Can you imagine carrying round the placenta everywhere you take the baby? Wrong, wrong, wrong (IMHO, of course )!

Kittiwake · 25/09/2007 10:44

Morning everyone!

Apricot wierd my midwife was telling me about that too! she said in some other countries it is traditional to carry around the placenta in a special little bag!!!!

Best wishes to Floria and Kezza from me too.

Inzi sounds like it di you good letting it all out

Hope you take it easier today ejt I have also been ding lots of sorting out though v. satisfying.

Our neighbour is having their chimney rebuilt this week and they put up scaffolding yesterday turned on TV last night and no satellite reception AARRRGGHHH no telly for us this week. Means I will miss Heroes has anyone else been watching this it is fab.

MrsFish · 25/09/2007 10:45

Awwwww... Lisa, she is so cute, and she doesn't look that tiny either, must just be the pictures

Kezza - Good luck for today

Inzidoodle & Ejt - Don't overdo it today

Apricott - DH says I have been snoring badly too, so he is sleeping in the spare room suits me, I get the bed to myself. Oh and that story is horrendous, WHY would youwant to do that [shudder]

Chocolate - I don't think he is coming anytime soon, don't feel or look as if I have dropped at all, but I will have the hottest curry I can stand tomorrow

Well I had a crap nights sleep, j20 I think I must have nearly equalled your getting up to the loo time, went to bed at 10pm and must have been up to the loo about 10 times before 7am this morning I was also having really weird dreams in between which kept waking me up... Oh and why is it you just finally get into a really comfortable position just as it is time to get up?

MrsFish · 25/09/2007 10:48

Kittiwake - Yes I have been watching heroes, tis a pity we can't watch the next series NOW as it starts in America this week
Am also peed off that we don't have sky so am going to miss Prison Break 3, must get round to persuading DH that I NEED IT

lisad123 · 25/09/2007 10:53

thanks for the comments girls, im a very proud mummy

MrsF everyone said that about the pics, and she doesnt look that small. She only 3oz heavier than Tanisha was when born, but does feel sturdier than her.

I saw the placenta comment, there was a thing about that on here a few months back, there's a few websites about it too. Very odd

ooo should be a another baby with us soon.

Lisa

Mrs F my brother has watched the whole series and keeps threatening to give bits away, I will kill him if he does. Haven't watched prison break at all. You know how when you can't do something you want to even more. Hopefully their building work will only take a week or so and not drag on otherwise me and DH will have to make polite conversation of an evening or read and improving book or something .

alicet · 25/09/2007 11:04

Winnie ? VERY jealous of you having unbroken sleep until 5.30am!!! I would give a LOT for that at the mo!

Ejt ? that must be really annoying ? all the stop starting and not knowing whether its all happening or not! Hope mw appt goes well today and you get some rest later?

Inzi ? hope you?re feeling less hormonal today. I guess after your experience last time its not surprising that you are getting more emotional as the date this lo is due looms? Thinking of you and hope you have a lovely day.

Apricott ? it will NOT be on my birth plan to leave the placenta attached!!!! Have heard of this before though ? agree not for me!!!

Well mil has just left ? we have had a great time actually. Always find myself not really looking forward to her coming and then feeling really guilty about it as actually she is no bother at all and has actually been incredibly helpful over the last couple of days. Sometimes she stresses dh out by being really negative about stuff which is the main reason I guess that I don?t look forward to her coming but I thin k I will have to stop thinking like that as she has been a star.

Off out for lunch with a mate I?ve not seen in AGES then my mum arrives this afternoon until after Adam is born. To basically give me a bit of help this week and to look after Sam in case everything kicks off early. Get on really really well with my mum as does dh so its great having her here. Dad will come up on Sunday too.

Can?t believe that I this time next week I could be in hospital holding my new son!!!!

Kittiwake · 25/09/2007 11:05

Inzi - I would wait sorry I can't stand getting a bad haircut mind you I have really weird hair and need the right person to do it. Could you do something else nice for yourself today instead and then have it doen somewhere good later in the week?

alicet · 25/09/2007 11:07

Inzi - cross posted. Not sure I would go to a place you don't know while you are feeling hormonal!! UNderstand totally about wanting it done NOW - I am useless at getting round to making an appointment to get mine done then get really p*ssed off when they can't give me an appt! You might well discover a diamond but I think at the mo is not the time to take a chance really - maybe giv e them a go another time when its less important to feel good about yourself. Go get a pedicure or something else today to make you feel good and save the haircut for another day when you can go to a place you know...

alicet · 25/09/2007 11:07

Great minds kitti!

TheLadyEvenstar · 25/09/2007 11:11

Morning Everyone xxxx

Zach and I came home on Sunday morning but I have been resting and taking it easy hence reason no posts from me. I had an eventful week as I gather you all know....

Tuesday evening has left me in shock lol...
There I was sitting arguing on the phone with AOL when my waters broke. Called dp and told him I needed a towel so he brings me a tea towel!!!!! lol anyway he realised my waters had gone and started fuffing around making sure i had all for hosp and then says "lets get in the car" it was 20.45 and i replied forget the car get an ambulance. Paramedics turned up at 21.00 and by time they had got gas and air out it was 21.05 and I was still not ready to push lol less than a minute later I was and at 21.11 Zach was born. I got taken to hospital. Mum sister dp and ds were all there with me when paramedics came back to me to ask for keys as they had left some equipment in the flat lol. My sister asked para who delivered Zach his name (which I already knew) and he said "Jay" well not liking the name she asked if he had a middle name which he said was Charles. So i told him That Zach is going to be named Zachary Charles Michal. The para was touched he said and off he went. Was kept in hosp until sunday with baby zach on a iv drip for 2 days and in an incubator as he was jaundiced. But his jaundice levels went down on saturday THANKFULLY after i had cried for an entire day as the drs kept taking blood from him. his little feet and hands are black and blue. Sunday morning the dr came round checked Zach over and asked me how i felt about going home....thinking she meant without him i said nope i staying with Zach she said good cos he will need you when he is at home so pack up lol.

Dp and Ds came to collect me and 900000 bags lol and we came home. and thats about it really lol.

Zach is totally angellic and sleeps like a log. I have to wake him to feed him!!!! Only now I started panicking over everything, is he pooing too frequently, does his sneeze mean he has a cold etc etc. Is he wrapped too warmly, or not warm enough lol.

Anyway Congrats all who have had their bundles of Joy and hurry up those who haven't!!!!! Its great to be home I missed y'all xxxxxxxxx

alicet · 25/09/2007 11:20

Great to hear from you LES and great that you're enjoying being a mum again! Think its pretty normal to worry about everything like that - certainly did with ds1! Look after yourself and enjoy it!

ejt1764 · 25/09/2007 12:15

Afternoon all?

Well, the midwife has been, and I?m just about to take myself back to bed ? with a bar of Dairy Milk!

I got quite tearful ? MW told me this was normal: it?s often a sign that the baby is on its way! However, I?ve been told to rest: there?s a trace of protein in my wee, and my hands feet and face are somewhat puffy and swollen ? time for me to rest up, I think ? I?ve sorted out the photos this morning, and I think that?s enough ? I may do some of the baby?s quilt later on, but I?ve got my first Welsh lesson of the new term this evening, and I want to be on top form for that!

Apricott ? lovely to hear from you, bump buddy! Hope you get everything you need in town!

I agree with you, the not cutting the cord thing sounds a bit icky ? it?s called lotus birthing ? yet another piece of totally useless information from me!!

Kitti ? how dare your neighbours take away your tv reception? Hope you manage ? I?m not a Heroes fan myself ? never seen it ? is it something you think I ought to watch?

MrsFish ? it?s just not fun, this end of pg bit, is it? I?d just got comfy this morning, and ds came and bounced on the bed to give me a kiss .. now, I love his kisses and cuddles, but this morning, I could have done with just carrying on sleeping ? I am so fortunate that dh gets up and sorts ds out in the mornings ? especially after nights like last night! Mind you, I?m always the one to get up in the night, so I suppose it?s equal really!

Lisa ? you have every right to be a proud mummy ? your girls are beautiful!!

Inzi ? am right with you on getting your hair done ? but, tbh, I?d wait ? unless you know somebody who?s been there ?

Alice ? thanks for your good wishes ? it is very frustrating with all these contractions ? I seem to get episodes of them every night ? it really shows me that this is a very different pg to when I had ds: I had nothing like this then!

Really glad that you enjoyed your mil visit ? it is really nice when things turn out better than you expect.

Enjoy your lunch!

LES ? lovely to hear from you!! A lovely birth story ? sorry to hear about Zach?s ordeal, but he won?t remember any of it!! Enjoy your baby!!

Inzi ? don?t worry about calling your mum ? she?ll probably be itching for you to ask! After I had all the trauma after the 2nd mc last year, when I finally came out of theatre, I just realised that I wanted my mum ? dh phoned, and she came straight away ? she?d been waiting for me to ask ? not wanting to but in! Anyway, just ask her ? she may be waiting for your call ?.

Have fun building the furniture!

Right, am going to follow everybody?s advice now, and go to bed!!

Have a good day, all!
