Buffy ? Congratulations!!!! Fantastic news and a lovely name too. Thinking of you all.

Mrs Fish ? we have those books too and I think they?re fab! Think my Sam (19 months) is a bit little to get it yet though!

Floria ? Sorry to hear you?re still in hospital but sounds like they?re doing the right thing in keepinga close eye on you? Sorry to hear its been so exhausting ? I can relate to the noise in one of those bays after ds was born but at least one of the noisy babies was mine! Great news that they have moved you and you can get some rest. Big hugs.

HMP ? when my waters broke last time it didn?t smell anything like that ? more a sweet kind of smell. But I remember someone mentioning it oo ? can?t remember who though! Hopefully they will appear and give you advice ? if not ask your mw ? she will have heard worse I?m sure!!!

Lisa ? no worries hon. Just hope you manage to get it all sorted out! As if you need this stress on top of everything else! If you go to mw hope all is well?.

LES ? sorry to hear you?re feeling crap. Nig hugs to you.

J20 ? sorry to hear you?re still feeling crap too. More big hugs for you!

Ejt ? great on the mil comment! Nothing like a few pregnancy hormones to make you speak your mind hey!! Have to say I won?t be going ANYWHERE that far from my hospital now I have hit 37 weeks and I don?t have the pain issue to worry about! Probably makes me a little paranoid but never mind!

Mump ? hope you?re OK ? keep us posted as best you can!

Choc ? hope you?re sleeping better ? I?ll reply to your email tonight promise! My phone is also now working again?

Big hellos to everyone else!

OK ladies you?re all worrying me about my windows now!! They a pretty filthy really and mil is coming this weekend too! She has never commented before though. And I have to say I?m not feeling very inclined to do anything about it at the mo ? better things to do like chat on here!!!!

And I?m off now to get my hair done ? its WELL overdue in fact I can?t remember the last time I had it cut! Not sure it will happen for a while either so going while I can?. Last time I got it cut the day before ds arrived 8 days early so if I?m not here later worry!

greedygreedyguzzler · 18/09/2007 14:52

congrats buffy! i knew you would be having your little one soon! beautiful name!

congrats mona. how old is your dd not to be squeamish about cutting the cord?!!

ok......off to tescos to fill my trolley to the brim and then pretend my waters have just gone so i can get all my shopping for free....................what do you think? will it work?!!

lisad123 · 18/09/2007 16:12

well it turns out my MW is on holiday (how dare she ) so had to go inot hospital instead. I have another water infections I have come home, but awaiting results as they want to make sure they get the right AB this time as last time they got it wrong, and they didnt work
Im still measuring behide dates. Im 38 weeks on friday and still onlymeasuring 33 weeks , I have appointment tomorrow so will need to discuss this too, as could mean my placenta has started to fail again and the injections havent worked.

Hope your all well, Im waiting for Darren to get home so I can go back to bed, cant believe how tired i am this time round. Having another child to run around after makes all the difference.

Lisa sorry you didn't get to see mw. Hope you get some answers at your appt tomorrow... I know what you mean about being much more tired this pg with another lo to look after!

Greedy did you get your shopping for free then? I reckon a balloon filled with water stuck just under your bump and popped discretely with a pin at a vital moment should do the trick with the waters breaking!

I had a lovely afternoon having my hair cut and highlighted. Very relaxing! One of the girls was so obviously squeamish about me being heavily pregnant I was really tempted to wind her up by pretending I was going into labour but it would just have been too cruel (and too easy!). She was only about 16 bless her. When she had to put my gown on me she said 'I can't tie that up I'm really sorry!' as the ties were just over my bump. Then when she was washing my hair and I was in the massage chair she said 'Are you comfortable using that? Some women who are pregnant are worried it might bring the baby on early!'. Tempted so tempted to say something like 'well I'm hoping so! it did last time!' but was restrained and just said 'oh i'm sure we'll be fine!'

ChocolateHobnob · 18/09/2007 19:43

Alice has it happened?? Hope not, since it would be best to wait for the elective!

Lisa, sorry about the infection - what a pain. Hope the ABs work this time.

Greedy - what happened then? did they cough up?!

Floria, hope you're either home or being induced. What an ordeal you're having! Hugs.

Ejt, it sounds like you really handle your MIL well!! Well done for sorting out the visiting issues. I have yet to resolve those, but I guess I've got time!

Slowly our house is getting tidier - we have put drawers under our new bed and that's helping; just need to fill them now. And decide on menus for three nights of entertaining inlaws. Luckily they aren't food faddy... any ideas for easy meals and desserts for tired pregnant people to make for four?!

Hello to everyone I haven't mentioned!

lisad123 · 18/09/2007 20:05

hmm easy meals. Do you have a slow cook? put some meat and sauce in and make chicken korma and spag bowl. Or stir fry is pretty quick.

Puds... rice pudding, steam sponge and strawberries and cream

alicet · 18/09/2007 20:09

No CHoc I am still here!

As far as food goes I would suggest takeaways (or M&S ready food!) one night, out one night ('Its really nice to be able to go out since we won't manage to get out much once the baby is here!') and then that just leaves one! I love cooking too but have to say that at the moment I can't really be arsed!

alicet · 18/09/2007 20:15

Or try this www.banquet-in-a-box.co.uk/default.html. We ordered ready meals from here for bil and sil after their dd was born and they were apparently absolutely great!

lisad123 · 18/09/2007 20:19

oh alicet, it looks lovely, my mouth is watering wish someone would order me some

alicet · 18/09/2007 20:22

me too! Home alone tonight (well with a sleeping ds) as dh is out for work. Just simply can't be bothered to cook. Better get on with it though!

lisad123 · 18/09/2007 20:43

not sure if this is helpful, but know a few of you were hoping for rocking chairs. Saw this on ebay cgi.ebay.co.uk/WOODEN-GLIDER-ROCKING-CHAIR-COLLECT-FROM-LONDON-SW6_W0QQitemZ190154337972QQihZ009QQca tegoryZ53675QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Evening all... well its been quiet on here the past couple of days, I hope everyone is ok

I have been busy again today, nesting is going on in full force in this house . After MiL and the windows yesterday, I decided to do some more, so washed the outsides of a couple, and swept up the patio of all the leaves, and cut down some stuff that was looking tatty. Did some more washing and ironing, and a couple of hours of computer work for someone this morning whilst ds was at nursery. Also found time to play with ds this afternoon too, and got him helping me sweep up with a dustpan and brush which kept him occupied for half an hour I'm wondering what I can get him doing next, he is being very helpful and still being good, I'm waiting for the terror to come back seeing as he isn't sleeping during the day atm and he has been having a couple of restless nights. Last night he called out a couple of times and cried but when I went in to him he was still asleep... must be dreaming. I wish I knew what about, and what he thinks is going on with me. I wish he could talk more than he does

MrsFish · 18/09/2007 20:46

Not that I am wishing his life away of course

orangecat · 18/09/2007 20:53

HI All

J20 - I'm with you and also getting annoyed with all that goes with late pg. Really hoping this LO is early, but in my head am preparing myself for a late one to save getting even more frustrated.

Floria - sooooo feel for you having yukky time in hospital. Totally DON'T worry about having a moan to us, I'm sure I would be and that's what we're here for . Really hoping that they sort you out soon, and hoping for a better nights sleep for you now they have moved you.

Ejt - well done on MIL. Perhaps we should all have a think about speaking our mind to them a little more. After all, there aren't many opportunities to blame the honesty on being pg. My MIL's current obsession is with potty training - apparently I'm doing it all wrong and far too late (DD is only 2.4, which I think is a perfectly reasonable and prob slightly early).

Lisa - really hope all is well with you. Do let us know how you are getting on with all your appointments.

Talking of waters breaking in supermarket, I was genuinely really close to it actually happening. My waters broke as I was carrying a bag of shopping into the kitchen - and we are only a 20 min drive from the supermarket. Although I did read that the whole free shopping/ free nappies thing is an urban myth, so probably not worth the embarrasment to get nothing at the end of it!

Talking of LO's reactions to new babies. My friends DS was perhaps showing a little too much interest. Adopted a baby doll, and copying mummy in everything she is doing with new baby. Including pretending to breast feed it! He realised he didn't have boobs, so was breastfeeding poor dolly through his belly button. Kind of embarassing when they were out in a cafe! Made me chuckle

Here's hoping (again) for a good night's sleep for everybody.

alicet · 18/09/2007 21:03

MrsFish when you're done fancy coming and cleaning my windows too?!! Don't know where you get the energy from!!!

Orange - pmsl at your friends ds bf through his bellybutton! Thats hilarious!

MrsFish · 18/09/2007 21:19

Orangecat - My MiL is the same regarding potty training thinks ds (2+4) should be using the potty/toilet already, I have tried him with the idea but he just isn't interested, won't sit on it for more than a second at a time, and screams blue murder if we try and put him on the loo. Anyway there is no point me starting this close to lo being born. I thought I may try him over Christmas again. Still its annoying when she mentions it everytime she comes to see him which is once a week (when she is in the country) And her favourite saying... 'Well mine were doing this when they were...' of course everything her three have done have all been earlier than what ds is up to... drives me mad.... and breathe She is not too bad actually, well she is but its just lucky that I am so laid back

alicet - this will be the last time in a long time that I'll be cleaning windows again... I am going in search of a window cleaner

Ben is being very active again tonight, its amazing watching the shapes my tummy can actually get in to, and the BH blimey I'm getting loads and loads, anyone else? I think I am going to go overdue though, he still feels really high up

ChocolateHobnob · 18/09/2007 21:20

Hello all!
Alice - that food is making me drool!

I wonder if the supermarket thing IS an urban myth... not going to find out though, cos our Tesco is enormous and you can never find anyone to help at the best of times!

Mrs Fish, how come you've got so much energy??! I feel I'm missing out. Much better today than yesterday (that's what a better night's sleep does for you!) but still hardly 'nesting'. I'll have to motivate myself to 'nest' tomorrow before inlaws come as there is cleaning to be done...

Orange, that story's really funny!! I can just imagine the little boy belly-button feeding...

Well, winter has come here! Autumn at least. Early this morning it was FREEZING and work is too stingy to heat the buildings till the fee-paying students appear next week. I popped to H and M and bought a big jumper to see me through as my maternity wear is all pretty summery... and I've got a while to go yet, and I am always cold. I thought pregnant women got hot, but doesn't seem to have affected me! Maybe that's just living in the north...

Sleep well all!

orangecat · 18/09/2007 21:27

Mrs Fish - with you on MIL and potty training. It's most likely true that they trained much earlier. But I've worked out that there was much more of an incentive back then for both the mums (washing of all those terry nappies) and LOs (feeling yukky and soggy in those terry nappies). Just keep on letting it wash over you, I am.

Choc - don't force yourself to nest!! Much better to be resting, I think. And I know I have been doing too much - then wondering at/ getting annoyed with all these aches and pains. Luckily mine is wearing off a bit now, so doing lots more sleeping

Talking of cold, froze my poor DD today. I'm the type of person who packs for any occassion - about 4 outfits in case of wee accident, and always have a jumper jacket in the bottom of the pushchair (even through summer). Except for today. Dressed poor DD in a skirt with socks (no tights) and a long sleeved t-shirt (no jumper) and proceeded to take her to the swings. Unsurprisingly, after about 5 pushes on the swings she said 'go home now mummy'. Poor thing was shivvering. Ooops

greedygreedyguzzler · 18/09/2007 22:41

didnt get my shopping for free in tescos! probably cos my waters didn't break!!!! knew that they wouldn't really cos they never have in the past! waters broke as i was pushing with ds and didn't break at all with dd! she came out in the sac! so it was wishful thinking really!!!

hope everyone has a fantastic nights sleep..................i am aiming for 8 hours solid with no wee stops or BHs..........how good does that sound?!!!

morning everyone. so how did we all sleep? Hope it was a good night for everyone. I went to bed at 8 with a terrible headache and then procdeeded to wake up (toilet, bad dreams) evry few hours. But feel ok this morning - slowly getting used to the disturbed sleep; nature is an amazing thing (and tea and toast with marmite always helps)It's the afternoons when I went to die of exhaustion really - just on my knees for tea/bath/bed.

seeing the mw this morning - should all be fine but will hopefully get a scan date - just want to get on with it all now. I'll regret that in a month I'm sure!

Floria, hope hospital is ok and absolutely moan away. we're here to listen.

choc, rest up if you don't feel like nesting. I am certainly going for it far more this time than I did with DS - the nesting feels a lot more manic this time round!

and I'm with orange amnd mrsfish on toilet training - ds is 2.5 and he really isn't intertested - we'll go for it when he is cause why would you put yourself through that now??!

anyway - have a great morning ladies. will pop in later.

MrsFish · 19/09/2007 08:39

Morning

Inzi - sounds like you don't need any energy passing over I am going to have a relaxing day today. Bit of shopping, dropping in to see some old work colleagues and lunch with a friend

Hi Nellie - I went to bed about 10.30 but had a very restless night, legs, hips and back were really achy and I kept dreaming and waking up for the loo, so don't feel particularly rested today. I've also got a horrible feeling that Ben has moved again... seeing mw tomorrow, Ihope I'm wrong

Have a good day everyone

MrsFish · 19/09/2007 08:47

In fact I have just been hit with a brick wall of tiredness, my heart is pounding and I feel a bit funny... must have a lie down for 5 mins

ejt1764 · 19/09/2007 09:13

morning .... am about to go to hydro, and then for lunch with a friend.

but ...

it's raining and cold here, and I've just tried to put a pair ofshoes on, and none of them (except my floppy flip-flops) will fit on my feet!

I hate having cold, wet feet .... aaaaaagh!
