I've searched for due date thread and couldn't find one so thought I would start a new one!

I'm 4+6 and due at the very beginning of September. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old so my hands are going to be very full lol!

@ShiningStarz have yours stopped too? I was going to arrange one for 7-8 weeks xx

Mcgootwo · 15/01/2020 10:14

@Roxy8203 @ShiningStarz @emma278 Isn't it crazy the things we put ourselves thru, I'm always checking boobs to see if they still sore or hopefully sorer, doing knicker check, I'm probably gonna attack's the postman soon waiting on a letter for early scan 🙄☺️ But at same time trying to seem normal to my sis and mum so they don't thing I've lost the plot lol. My DH wasn't so bothered about an early scan either but While we know it's not gonna prevent anything it still is peace of mind at each stage or knowledge of good/bad news.... I lost at 5/6 weeks last time and didn't find out to 13+4 so could have known a lot earlier. But on a more upbeat note, this time we all are gonna be fine and it would just be good to see wee heartbeat and be able to relax a bit xox

Sunshinexx95 · 15/01/2020 10:59

Hi @ShiningStarz
Today I woke up with headache. I went to work and started feeling exhausted and a bit sick. I don't know how pregnancy sickness feels like yet. I think I felt sick I'm not sure.
I am 5+5 today too. My boobs less sore. I am hungry but don't wanna eat. I am not craving anything. I think sickness will hit us at 6 weeks or 7.
Xx

Can anyone advise- I just went to the loo and there’s a tiny dot of red/ pink in my knickers and when I wiped. Ive not had any spotting before. I’ve also been having some mild cramping this morning for the first time. Should I worry? Or just keep an eye on it? We also dtd last night, don’t know if it could be due to that? I’m 5+5 weeks and panicking a bit as never had any spotting or cramping in my previous pregnancy Sad

ChipsAreLife · 15/01/2020 12:22

Oh @Happythecrocodile I'm sorry. I'm not sure but maybe call the local hospital EPU? Or the GP? It could just be from sex but I'm not sure, one of the others may be more knowledgeable on this. Hope it's ok for you x

Happythecrocodile · 15/01/2020 14:49

@ChipsAreLife thanks. There hadn’t been much more this morning so I thought it was fine but just been again and there was more and very red this time. Called my GP (as I haven’t even been contacted by a midwife yet) so I’ve got an appointment with the GP at 5.10. I’m so hoping it’s nothing but I’m so scared.

NameChange30 · 15/01/2020 14:55

Happy
AFAIK a small amount of bleeding is ok (and apparently the cervix changes in pregnancy so it can bleed a bit after sex?) but more bleeding would be a worry. Best of luck to you 🤞

Dipsy77 · 15/01/2020 15:22

@Happythecrocodile I had this with my last pregnancy after dtd I self referred to EPU and had an early scan at 5 and a half week and all was fine x

HugeAgeGap · 15/01/2020 15:25

@Happythecrocodile I had this after dtd as well over last couple weeks (5+4) but it was more brown than it was red after dtd. Also in my last preg (that was completely fine) I did have some red blood over a couple of days but it was nothing to worry about, so just to add that everyone is different but don't think the worst as it does happen, good your getting checked out later, let us know how u get on xxx

ChipsAreLife · 15/01/2020 15:28

Oh glad you've got an app today. I know lots of people have bleeds and go on to have good pregnancies so try hold onto that. Hope the GP can help.

Maybebaby2 · 15/01/2020 17:11

@Happythecrocodile hope all is well and the spotting stops I've definitely heard that dtd can cause that to happen but best to get checked out if it continues x

What is everyones EDD? Mine is 19th Sept, but I had Cholestatis in last pregnancy and was induced at 38 weeks (they wanted to at 37 week but I said no) if I get it this pregnancy they will want to induce me early again so could be more like Sept 5th!

Happythecrocodile · 15/01/2020 18:12

Thanks @NameChange30 @Dipsy77 @HugeAgeGap and @ChipsAreLife. Your messages did make me feel a lot better. Unfortunately the GP did say it could be mc so I’ve got to have my bloods taken tomorrow and again in a week to compare hcg levels to know for sure. This is going to be the longest week of my life 😩

Dipsy77 · 15/01/2020 18:14

Can't u self refer to epu ?x

Samk79 · 15/01/2020 18:31

@maybebaby I'm due 21st September. Feeling a bit deflated today as there was a conversation in my office about people having a big age gap between kids and how they wouldn't want to be an older mum 😞

emma278 · 15/01/2020 18:50

@Samk79 dont listen to those negstive people! A healthy baby is a blessing and it will all be great for you. Lots of love xx

NameChange30 · 15/01/2020 19:07

Happy
Fingers crossed for you, hope you can distract yourself as much as possible in the next week!

Roxy8203 · 15/01/2020 19:16

@samk79 don't listen to them. Everyone does things for a different reason and what suits one person doesn't suit another. I'm 37 and this will be my first and although I'm aware that's older than most people would want it's right for us. there are a lot of reasons we haven't done this sooner but now we are in the right place in life and it will make it a lot easier when the baby does arrive. Everyone has an opinion about everything but don't let it get you down

Happythecrocodile · 15/01/2020 19:54

@Dipsy77 just looked on the website and apparently you can’t self refer to my hospital’s EPU. The GP said there was no point sending me for a scan as it’s too early to see anything. He said if the hcg results come back that I am still pregnant they’d send me for an early scan then.

Dipsy77 · 15/01/2020 20:01

I went at 5 week 5 days and you could see the pregnancy, I had to go back 2 weeks later for another scan as they didn't know where the bleeding was coming from, I bled quite a few times throughout and everything was fine it just panicked me and they were so good with me as I felt like a time waster x

Babytrain89 · 15/01/2020 20:03

@Roxy8203 Ah sounds like you had some bargaining ground. I am 30, so they prettt much alluded to it being normal timescales. Just hopeful this one sticks!

@Mcgootwo Hello! Lovely to have you here with us! Fab to hear theyre giving you an early scan...how did you manage to get an early scan? Are you going private? Im calling my docs tomorrow all being well...have been too scared so far in case it jinxed it...know that might sound silly.

Just reading through and catching up...I also constantly check to see if boobs are still sore and freak out at every twinge. Ive come to the conclusion that soreness coming and going is my normal...doesnt stop me worrying though. Such an anxious time.

@Happythecrocodile I am so sorry you're going through this. Sounds like your GP is doing the right thing. They wont scan pre 6 weeks where I am, don't be fobbed off though as theyre very quick to dismiss early pregnancy which is heartbreaking for those going through it. With you all the way and keeping everything crossed. As many have said...a little bleeding is normal, though doesnt make it less worrying. X

HugeAgeGap · 15/01/2020 20:40

@Happythecrocodile sounds like going to be a really long week for you!! Fingers crossed the bleeding settles down again, so many of us have had it there's a good chance all is well in there but I know it's such a worry so just try and take your mind off it and see what next week brings. I think if anything worsens it's worth phoning again in the meantime though xxx

Maybebaby2 · 15/01/2020 20:42

@Samk79 don't listen to negative people they like to talk about things that they know nothing about and will always be passing judgement on someone or something. I have experience of being a young mum at 22 and then an older mum at 38 and this time I'll be 40. There are benefits of both being young and older and I wouldn't change a thing. Also the age gap is a wonderful thing, 16 years apart DS has such a special relationship with DD, its so lovely to see. You will be surprised just how many people have siblings with a big age difference, untill I had DD I didnt realise but since I've had her so many people say to me oh my sister is so much younger etc etc and they all say what a special relationship and bond they have. So please do not listen to the office prattle. I was a little worried last time with DD about the age difference and my age but this time around it does not worry me one bit. Smile Oh and our EDDs are close too!

NameChange30 · 15/01/2020 20:43

I would say if tomorrow's hcg test result is normal and there is no more bleeding, I would feel optimistic, but I realise it's easy to say that when it's not me.

Mcgootwo · 15/01/2020 20:53

@Babytrain89 The GP is sending me for an early scan as I had a MMC in November so she's doing it a pro caution and peace of mind I'd say x

Babytrain89 · 15/01/2020 21:04

@Mcgootwo ah ok, useful to know. Maybe I should pluck up the courage to tell mine then! Fingers crossed you get your letter soon!
