I've searched for due date thread and couldn't find one so thought I would start a new one!

I'm 4+6 and due at the very beginning of September. I have a 3 year old and a 1 year old so my hands are going to be very full lol!

@shiningStarz hahah tell me about it! Body doesn't know what to be doing today it's strange. Just hits you in the face suddenly. How far are you along again? It's crazy to me how many of us are going through it at the same time. In full hormonal rage mode this evening, chewed the face off other half, called him ungrateful and then I started to cry for being mean 😂

Roxy8203 · 13/01/2020 19:00

@ShiningStarz are you going private for all your care? It would be great to be able to do that, I expect it's expensive though. I wish someone had told me I could get a early scan, my doctor knows I'm pregnant coz he spoke to my partner last week about his test results and said it doesn't matter anymore as we have managed to get pregnant without medical help. Maybe it is only offered after multiple losses, I've got no idea 🤷🏼‍♀️

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 19:07

🤣🤣🤣 @JMill13 it’s only going to get worse so he may as well get used to it!!!
I’m 5w 3D today so still soo early. Had my blood hcg today, hopefully get results tomorrow. Repeat blood hcg Friday and then scan following Thurs 🤞🤞

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 19:09

@Roxy8203 where do you live again?

Yeah I’ll go private. I saved for another ivf which thankfully / hopefully I won’t need. It’s about £3300 😩

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 19:10

@Roxy8203 I rang my local EPU and they accept referrals from yourself and scan at 7 weeks.
You could ring your local EPU??

JMill13 · 13/01/2020 19:19

@shiningStarz hahah hopefully he does. Oh flip I didn't even know I was pregnant till near the end of 5 weeks. So if you're anything like me you'll have another couple of weeks of being relatively normal and the it:ll get fun 😂.

Ooh fingers crossed all goes well with the results and scan. Keep us updated. Just feels like everything is going so so slow doesn't it? Like everything is so far away

Roxy8203 · 13/01/2020 19:20

@ShiningStarz good for you going private, at least you feel you can ask and get what you want.

I'm in Devon, I might get my mum to find out as she works in the hospital and knows everyone. I've got the private scan booked for when I'm 7+5 as I don't really want an internal scan so that's not a lot different to when the nhs say they will do one. I'll see if mum can use her connections and find out for me Wink

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 19:28

@Roxy8203 ring your GP first thing and demand you want referred to EPU. There’s one in Devon

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 19:29

Don’t take no for an answer!!!

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 19:30

Thank you @JMill13 I was so emotional the 2 days before my expected AF so that led me to test!!!
It’s soooo slow!!
I’m kinda glad work keeping me busy!!

Roxy8203 · 13/01/2020 19:38

Thanks @ShiningStarz, I'll call and see what they say

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 19:39

@Roxy8203 just tell them you want referred. They aren’t in there right to say no!!! Iv dealt with gp’s a lot and you need to put your foot down with most of them!

Samk79 · 13/01/2020 19:48

@kangaroo77 probably going to book it in for between 7 and 8 weeks

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 20:05

I don’t mean to have a rant! I just got so fed up with gp’s telling me heavy periods and extreme pain were normal for years and years!!! It wasn’t until I was seen privately, I was given a laparoscopy that diagnosed stage 4 endometriosis! I was so angry! Iv now got a good relationship with my GP, back then though I was so disappointed 😢

Roxy8203 · 13/01/2020 20:26

@ShiningStarz it's ok. I know where you are coming from. I went to the doctors over the course of 5 years with back pain but just got sent to a physio who was no good. Turns out I had 2 slipped discs!!

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 20:30

Flip me!!! @Roxy8203 the pain you must have been in too ☹️

Roxy8203 · 13/01/2020 20:38

@ShiningStarz I think I've developed a high pain threshold (which I'm relying on during labour 😂) so I was in discomfort and had mobility issues, and ever 2-3 months it would flare up and I'd be. In a lot of pain and barely able to walk. My work paid for me to have an MRI in the end

ShiningStarz · 13/01/2020 20:41

I can’t believe it went that far! If it wasn’t for your work, you might still be in that pain and maybe have done irreparable damage ☹️ Doesn’t bear thinking about.
I hope when you talk to your gp tomorrow that they have no issue with referring you to the EPU. You deserve peace of mind and no worrying.

Roxy8203 · 13/01/2020 20:54

@ShiningStarz one of the discs has gone again but currently not causing my any problems, I am wondering if it may flare up later in the pregnancy but really hoping it doesn't.
Thanks, I've got my private scan at 7+5 anyway so I'll get it done one way or the other

NameChange30 · 13/01/2020 20:55

Evening all

Chips
Thanks for the suggestion. The receptionists at my GP surgery are utter unhelpful bitches so I doubt they would help me to get the scan booked, they would just tell me to wait until my midwife appt. they wouldn't even book me in for a flu jab because they said I wasn't on their system as pregnant 🙄
I'm not having an early scan, I'll wait for the 12 week one (hence my impatience to book it in Grin) Didn't have one first time around either. It's a long wait though so I understand why people get them (esp if previous losses).
"Anyone with other kids feel absolutely shattered?!"
YES. It was bad enough when I was pregnant with DS (first DC) and it's absolutely torture now said DS is 2 and jumping all over me (kicking me in the sore boobs) when I'm trying to lie on the sofa! I actually tried to go to bed before him tonight (DH on duty) but he came into bed with me and woke me up 🤦🏻‍♀️

Shining
Sore boobs are a very good sign! Don't wish for nausea, it sucks! When I was pregnant with DS I didn't get nausea, just tiredness and sore boobs in the early days. So try not to worry (easier said than done!)

Sorry to shining and roxy that you both got fobbed off by GPs for so long Sad Sadly I think it is common for female patients especially not to be taken seriously Angry

NameChange30 · 13/01/2020 20:57

Roxy
Could you request a physio referral now? It would be best to get in early with the physio because obviously pregnancy is going to put a lot of pressure on your back.

I had PGP in my first pregnancy and I have already been to see a women's health physio (privately) to get advice on preventing or at least minimising it this time - she gave me a ton of exercises to do! I do think they are helping.

Roxy8203 · 13/01/2020 20:59

Thanks, I got there in the end with my back but it is very frustrating being robbed off for so long. Luckily when I went to ask about fertility tests they were more willing

NameChange30 · 13/01/2020 21:01

That's good at least.
I really hope you don't get a flare up or PGP in pregnancy.
Have you ever done Pilates at all? I hear it's good for back health.
I've tried Pilates but I love yoga and find it's just not the same!
I might go to pregnancy Pilates though, anything not to get PGP.

Roxy8203 · 13/01/2020 21:30

I hope it's going to be ok. I've tried yoga and Pilates briefly but my flexibility is so poor now it's a non-starter for me. I might try prenatal Pilates but too much twisting or stretching aggravates my back and gives me sciatica. The physio told me the nerves in my legs have shortened due to my back issues lasting so long and as you can imagine stretching nerves doesn't feel great.
I'm trying to keep active, I was doing step classes but I've stopped that for now and am just swimming, did 70 length today and no impact on my back, winner 😀

NameChange30 · 13/01/2020 21:35

Wow that's great!
I used to love swimming, don't go much any more sadly but would love to get back into it.
There is a gym near me with a lovely pool but since DS was born I wasn't able to go often enough to justify the membership fee.
There are other pools but they're not as nice and no jacuzzi afterwards to motivate me Grin
