Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

That’s good that they’re being proactive in protecting you. ☺️
Everyone seems to think the schools will close after Friday so I’ll try to hold out h too then until I’m told otherwise. I doubt my school will be as supportive to be honest. They’re insistent I do parents evening despite being sat on a hard chair for 5 hours in close proximity to all of those people.

Louisaizzy · 17/03/2020 08:49

I’m a self employed dental hygienist which is high risk but non essential. All of my patients are being cancelled for the foreseeable, as I type. I’m completely gutted as wanted to save up for a nice stress free maternity! My 5 year old is off school with a continuous cough and my 8 year old has started coughing.
I googled that you can get maternity pay from 29 weeks.
This is going to be a tough time for us all!
Take Care everyone! Xxx

I had a day of annual leave today but my boss called me this morning to tell me not to come back in tomorrow! Hopefully will be having a laptop delivered at some point so I can work from home 🤞🏻

On a positive note, 20 week scan tomorrow!! Can't wait to know everything is going well & learn the gender hopefully 😊

PandaPink · 17/03/2020 16:17

Had 20 week scan, it's a boy! I'm returning next week for another as they couldn't visualise his stomach properly.

I'm a nurse doubt I can work from home Confused

Murree · 17/03/2020 16:28

I'm being moved into the back office to limit my contact with all the people coming in and out of the main office so that's good.

On another note - has anyone had days where you can't feel baby move much? I had such a lot of strong movement over the weekend, then not much all yesterday or today. Can't get hold of my midwife and the other midwifes at ANDA didn't seem too concerned - Worrying me slightly.

LTofBR3 · 17/03/2020 16:57

@Murree
I've had the same this week, some days I feel like there's a rollercoaster riding around in there and other days it's all very quiet other than a slight flutter but I don't even know if that's the baby. Trying not to worry too much with everything else going on. 20 week scan coming up in just under two weeks but I think time is really going to drag (I'm now working from home indefinitely due to the latest guidance)

PandaPink · 17/03/2020 17:54

@Murreeb yep at 18 weeks I'd go days with nothing. But now I feel him everyday it's getting more and more.

PandaPink · 17/03/2020 17:55

@Murree

Murree · 17/03/2020 18:06

@PandaPink & @ LTofBR3 thanks for the reassurance.

As I work in the hospital the lovely midwives over the delivery suite let me pop over for a listen - all fine - little bugger has moved right to the back!

Murree · 17/03/2020 18:07

@LTofBR3 sorry!

Fig20 · 17/03/2020 19:14

I went in this morning and after querying with the deputy head was later told I needed to go home 🤷🏽‍♀️ Thinking of all of you who are working for the NHS 💕

I’m 17+2 and haven’t felt any movement yet. I’ve been having a persistent sharp pain in one place (lower right abdomen) and sometimes feels like it radiating down into my groin. Anyone else experiencing sharp pains?

LTofBR3 · 17/03/2020 20:57

@Fig20 sounds like round ligament pain, I think it's quite common during the 2nd trimester

LTofBR3 · 17/03/2020 21:01

Hit post too soon!
I sometimes have days where I feel like I'm saddle sore which I'm hoping is fairly normal too Confused

EL1984 · 17/03/2020 21:37

Sorry to hear everyone's trouble and stress with this virus and work. Will be a long few months!!

@LTofBR3 I also feel I've got sore bones or one thing around my groin ... feels like I've been horse riding. It also feels a bit sore or pressure in my groin when I lift heavy things or push something.

LTofBR3 · 17/03/2020 22:53

@EL1984 phew - glad it's not just me then!

Nellie3 · 18/03/2020 08:05

@Fig20 I'm also a teacher and have as good as been told not to come in for the foreseeable.

I know we don't want this thread dominated by the virus, but wondering if anyone else feels down about it pregnancy wise? I feel like now should be a time when we are meeting other mums to be, being surrounded by friends and family and being excited about preparing for baby but it's affecting all of those things.

Movement wise I feel the same as lots of you, I'm 19 weeks and some days still feel nothing and other days feel weird movements like a fish swimming around (sorry 😅) which I assume is the baby.

Anyway, 20 week scan a week today which is so exciting 😁

GoldenKirst · 18/03/2020 16:40

20 week scan today, was so lovely and the sonography was really nice! Baby is healthy and we have been blessed with a little BOY 💙💙

Now I'm definitely outnumbered at home with boyfriend, dog and baby 👶🏼

GoldenKirst · 18/03/2020 16:41

Louisaizzy · 18/03/2020 17:03

Congratulations!

Nellie3 · 18/03/2020 19:34

Yayy congratulations @GoldenKirst ! Xx

GoldenKirst · 18/03/2020 22:33

@Louisaizzy @Nellie3 Thank you both ☺️

Jeca8 · 19/03/2020 14:07

Thought I would join this thread, I am due 28th of august.

With all this covid-19 stuff going on I Was wondering if anyone knew how likely it is for our 20 week scan to be cancelled? Has anyone had this? Ours is not due for 3 weeks.

EL1984 · 19/03/2020 14:38

Hi @Jeca8 welcome to the group :)
I had my 20 week scan yesterday (a few others in the group have recently too).
I was at Chelsea & Westminster hospital and all was fairly quiet.
There was only one other couple in the waiting room and the sonographer came to get me right on time so it was all very efficient and we were in and out of the hospital in 20mins.

The news and NHS info encourages pregnant women to continue attending antenatal appointments so seems to be running for now.
X

Jeca8 · 19/03/2020 14:42

@EL1984 ah thanks That’s good to know 😊

NamiSwan · 19/03/2020 14:57

@Jeca8 I had my scan this week, I'm pretty sure they won't be cancelled as the anomaly scan is a pretty important scan for picking up serious issues in pregnancy (for baby but also mother e.g. low lying placenta).

Juat had my whooping cough jab, my arm already hurts and I know from precious pregnancies it's only going to get worse 😭

Day 3 of working from home and I am already feeling cabin fever despite still popping out to the shops etc. No idea how I will cope when I have to juggle work, home schooling a 4 and 6 year old and minimising trips outside!!
