Hi all

Just thought I would get this set up so that we had somewhere to go at the end. Will link to it in the old thread. Can’t believe we reached the limit so soon!!!

I lost symptoms in week 9, but now that I'm in week 11 I'm back to feeling nauseous and I'm utterly exhausted. I don't know if it's maybe because the baby grows so much weeks 10-12? I've also been craving milk so I figure maybe some bones are growing!! I actually find it quite reassuring the nausea has returned, as I get closer to my 12w scan I've been getting more worried about bad news.

Louisaizzy · 27/01/2020 21:14

@Babykent2019 I lost my symptoms at 8wks5days, quite abruptly, so had a scan and it was all ok. I’m 12wks now! X

Firstmummytobe · 27/01/2020 21:42

So just wondering, for this who can’t wait for their scan to find out the gender, I have been googling has anybody heard of the nub theory and used it? Xxx

Firstmummytobe · 27/01/2020 21:43

I mean my gender scan is a week tomorrow on feb 4th so I’ll know them but I’m too excited and impatient 😂😂

swimbikerunner · 27/01/2020 21:57

First time I’ve ever posted. 9 weeks tomorrow and just feel so sick all the time. Struggle through work then go to bed. Can’t wait to feel week again, but the conflict is that it’s reassuring. Be lovely to chat to some others with first trimester woes! Remaining grateful though, as I had IVF.

Babykent2019 · 28/01/2020 06:13

Thanks everyone. I woke up in the night to one sore boob, then went again this morning so seems to still be lingering in the background. 🤦🏽‍♀️. I just need to relax for the next week.
My scan is on 04th Feb- OH won't do private as we had a bad experience last time - not their fault but I think it has put him off.

Girlinglasses · 28/01/2020 13:46

I though I lost my symptoms at 11 weeks (currently 12+5) and yesterday morning I woke up and though "huh, I haven't felt sick in days, great" and then sure enough a round 11am the nausea hit and I've been nauseous since 😂 it's not as bad as before though. I have my dating scan on Thursday- nervous but not too nervous as I had a scan 2 weeks ago (nhs, due to previous complication) and everything looks good. Just really hoping for low low low low odds for chromosomal issues.

We are not going to find out the sex 🙈

annie1994 · 28/01/2020 17:14

Hello, I’m 9+2 but just wondering if anyone else has suffered with back ache? I’ve googled it and apparently it’s normal in the first trimester as the hormones loosen your joints/ ligaments/ bones. Also I know we’re not allowed saunas/ hot tubs because of the heat but am I allowed hot water bottle?

Macbless · 29/01/2020 11:11

@annie1994 sorry to hear you have back ache. I did at about 7 weeks and used a hot water bottle but infrequently and not for the whole day. I have seen people who were having IVF be advised against it and some others who were advised not to put it on their tummy but could put elsewhere. I think the main problem or concern is increasing your basal temperature which is thought to put your risk of abnormalities up (hence why they advise avoiding spas).
I tried paracetamol and yoga stretching which made no difference and before I ended up with the hot water bottle. I had cool clothes on just put it on my back and tried to keep my temp from getting warm. It's a balance and it definitely did help my back!

EL1984 · 29/01/2020 13:54

Hi ladies!
First time pregnant and am finding this group so helpful!
I am 12 + 2 today and have my scan tomorrow (am pretty nervous about it) have also booked the harmony test straight after.
For those worried about symptoms coming and going, I was feeling pretty nauseas from 5 - 8 weeks and getting through a lot of Jacobs cream crackers! Now it comes and goes, I only feel a little sick in the early evenings.
I've actually started getting pretty bloated and uncomfortable the last few days so have gone off eating as much.

@annie1994 I also had pretty terrible lower back pain around 5-7 weeks, I can't remember exactly but think it lasted about 2 weeks. I get the same sort of pain around my period so was worried it was that. I think I took the odd panadol and it helped when my husband gave me a massage. I also found lying on the floor with my knees bent helped with a bit of rocking side to side. Fingers crossed yours will pass soon xx

MaisieMolly · 29/01/2020 15:47

@el1984 I’m suffering with bloating too, especially in the evenings. I’m 13 weeks tomorrow Shock

No back pain but I am getting pain / twinges in my stomach muscles and have lost all strength there which I think is round ligament from googling it.

I’m finding this group really helpful too. Let’s keep the chat up!! Smile

How is everyone who’s had their 12 week scan feeling now? Are people starting to worry less? I still feel worried, not sure this feeling is ever going to leave me. I’ve started telling people too which is nice but I do find it quite awkward and embarrassing for some reason!

Jojo19834 · 29/01/2020 16:47

Hey, re feeling after 12 week scan I think I would say very chilled and slipping into a normal routine. When you first find out it’s all new and exciting and you don’t know what to expect (as a first timer). The primary focus is getting to 12 week scan and seeing all is well. After that, I think I have mellowed as it’s a long journey now and we’ll start seeing bodily changes and kicks in the coming weeks so there’s some satisfaction, for me, that it’s progressing. I’ve also had my Harmony done so now know this is off the table so it’s time to focus on good cooking of baby and enjoy the second trimester. How’s everyone else finding it?

Jojo19834 · 29/01/2020 16:48

@EL1984 good luck for the Harmony, are you going to find out sex? (Sorry if that’s the wrong phrase on here, a lot of people get very angry and sex vs gender but I’ve just not mastered it). I’m having a girl!

BoboN5 · 29/01/2020 18:59

Hi everyone! I'm new around here, 11 weeks today with my first and it feels like a LIFETIME until my scan, which is scheduled for next Friday. So excited to read about all your experiences and how you're getting on. Everything is just so new!

swimbikerunner · 29/01/2020 19:49

First midwife appt today at 9+2. Nearly passed out from all the bloods done! Evening nausea is getting worse and I just dread the evenings. [why is there no vomit/sick emoji on here lol)

@annie1994 yes I use hot water bottles every day as I am always freezing! Just avoid the tum area, although I’ve heard that it’s ok. I take my temp quite a lot just out of interest and it’s never affected that. You’d have to go some to get your basal over 37!

For interest I had IVF - it doesn’t automatically make it a high risk pregnancy, it’s just a jump start for some of us. I’m in that category so I follow standard advice around hot water bottles and exercise too. Hope your back ache eases soon. Smile

Girlinglasses · 29/01/2020 20:24

@Jojo19834 a girl, congrats 😍 my 12 week scan is tomorrow so I'm really hoping the tranquility you speak of comes with it- I'll be 13 weeks tomorrow so officially second trimester! What made you go for the harmony scan if you don't mind me asking? I've seen some people get it and some people don't? I don't want to fond out the sex but obviously want as much reassurance that all is ok health wise as possible!

Congrats everyone else too, I hope everything is going well! I've been using hot water bottles, just not on my stomach and making sure that they are not too hot! My muscle/ligament pain has definitely ramped up the last few days x

StephD2020 · 29/01/2020 20:29

Ahhhh @Girlinglasses our first scan is tomorrow too and I'll be 13+1! We will have to compare notes when we are done lol.

I'm actually feeling a little anxious about the results - 🤞🏻for no issues 😳

MaisieMolly · 29/01/2020 20:33

Good luck with your scans tomorrow. I’ll be into my second trimester tomorrow!

Girlinglasses · 29/01/2020 20:39

@StephD2020 I am a bit nervous too so 🤞🏻 for both of us! I had my bloods done last week so they'll be able to give me the results there and then tomorrow, so at least no waiting around!
@MaisieMolly yay for second trimester! I thought I'd never get there 🙈

StephD2020 · 29/01/2020 21:07

@Girlinglasses yea my bloods were taken last week too so hopefully we'll get ours tomorrow as well.

Trying to be pragmatic but it's not really working so there's only one thing for it - TOBLERONE! 😋

blackpinkinyourarea · 30/01/2020 09:41

@MaisieMolly i thought i'd be less worried after my 12 week scan, and i was for a few days.. but these last few days ive been having brown spotting which i hope is just the aftermath of last weeks bleed but ffs i just wish it would go away Sad.
@Jojo19834 ah thats lovely news about having a girl, congrats Smile
@Girlinglasses @StephD2020 good luck with your scans today!

MaisieMolly · 30/01/2020 10:53

@blackpinkinyourarea oh how worrying for you. I’m sure it’s just the aftermath, brown is old blood isn’t it. Maybe you could go for another scan in a few days when it’s stopped to check?

After 12 weeks It seems a long time to the next scan doesn’t it! Does anyone know what happens at the 16 week midwife appointment? Do they listen for baby’s heartbeat?

Im 13 weeks today. Baby is as big as a lemon !

Firstmummytobe · 30/01/2020 11:55

In 14 weeks tomorrow, for my gender scan Tuesday I’m so excited when I’ll be 14+4🙈🙈🥰

Girlinglasses · 30/01/2020 14:05

@blackpinkinyourarea brown blood is usually nothing to worry about so hopefully everything will be ok xx

@StephD2020 how did today go? X

OzEm · 30/01/2020 14:15

Hi all! First time posting on this group.
I had my 12 weeks NHS scan yesterday - thought I was 11 + 6 however turned out in the scan I’m actually only 10 + 4 so have to go back in two weeks.

Anyone else had this happen? Lady that did the sonogram said everything was total fine but that I must have ovulated later that I thought. I had only just come off the pill so I had no idea what a normal cycle was like for me.

Would love to hear if this has happened to anyone else x
