Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Thank you for such reassuring responses. I was in such a tailspin yesterday. I wish I had just booked a GP appointment and talked it through with them, rather than blindly following the receptionist advice to self-refer.This is my first baby and I am in my late 30s, so worrying about a million things at the moment.

I am finding I am burping a lot, and having insomnia - is anyone else having this?

Minniemee · 20/12/2019 17:22

@ml01omm I have so much gas! Sorry if tmi Crown Grinburping a lot and also from the other end! haha

Sorry you have had to worry about so much- my doctors have been absolutely shocking too, phoned to book a midwife appt and just got told that there were no appointments and to phone the community midwife, then when I spoke to her she said no you need to book it through the doctors! I was totally passed from pillar to post!

My first too so this group could be great for soundboarding everything.. you are going to be just amazing though Star

Hello! Got my BFP yesterday at 10dpo, so very early days but baby due 1 September :) Which just so happens to be between my birthday (28th Aug) and hubby's (2 Sep) so that's fun.

It's our first baby and first month TTC so in a bit of shock! Very excited though.

Lovely to see at least two people from our other 'testing around Xmas' thread @Peanutty86 & @TunnocksTcake :)

Sorry to add a big old question to my first post but I'm panicking a bit as I went to yoga today and we did a lot of twist poses. Afterwards I felt some cramping and twinging and started to freak out that it would cause miscarriage. I then googled (of course) and there is a lot of conflicting advice. Apparently twists are bad? Apparently yoga is bad in first 12 weeks? I had no idea... :(

Quite worried but trying to reassure myself that (a) I've been having mild cramps the last couple days anyway and it's hopefully just normal (b) I wouldn't have known I was PG if I had waited till missed AF which is Monday and (c) I am relatively used to yoga and it was just a one off so hopefully the bean is not at risk....

Any thoughts/advice welcome... I hope I'm just being paranoid. If it did harm what do you think the time frame for seeing adverse affects would be?

Thanks so much in advance... x

Peanutty86 · 20/12/2019 20:30

@ml01omm oh god the insomnia and the vivid dreams.....! I forgot about that!

Welcome @IslayBrigid 🤗

I'm just generally feeling a bit off, dry mouth too and quite tired already.

Anyone on here still breastfeeding? I wish my ds would self wean but no chance. I'm ready to stop but I'm not ready to force him to stop...

TunnocksTcake · 20/12/2019 21:01

@IslayBrigid hello! So glad to see you here, and other newbies 😊
I'm sure yoga won't do you any harm, especially if you have been doing it a while pre pregnancy. It's very gentle and all very good for pregnancy. I've been getting cramps on and off so I think it's normal.
I am going to have to give up netball I think which is a shame, was just getting into it after starting in September but it's actually quite physical and contact-y, plus I have fallen over a few times playing and people bash into you etc. I was going to start yoga next term but haven't done it for ages so won't start something new now. Will have to stick to gymming and swimming!

Mrs71 · 20/12/2019 21:21

Hi ladies. I'm having really bad cramps this evening also Af was due today so glad today is over. It's such a surreal feeling I just want to get to 12 weeks. Also feeling really tired and have a very dry mouth. I have a gp's appointment on 6th January who will then refer me to midwife. I also want to book early scan so probably will do middle January. x

Minniemee · 20/12/2019 21:24

@Mrs71 how far gone are you?? I've had cramps this whole time which almost felt like my period was coming. Lost count of the times I have checked when I wipe after the loo for blood!! This 12 week wait is just so long isn't it. Sending lots of hugs I'm sure you will be fine!

Mrs71 · 20/12/2019 21:37

@Minniemee thank you! I'm not sure I think I'm 4 weeks today when I put my dates into one of those pregnancy apps it came up at 4+1 today due date 28th Aug but I think I'm further as I think I ovulated a lot earlier in the month. I'm exactly the same I keep running to the loo checking too. It just feels so surreal but I'm also so happy and excited just want everything to be ok.

IslayBrigid · 20/12/2019 22:39

Thanks @TunnocksTcake and @Peanutty86 in feeling a bit calmer now :) I do do it regularly but haven't done much ashtanga before and haven't done much yoga the last few weeks as been very busy. But I think it'll be ok.

I can definitely relate to the cramping and pains in vagina area! They are very weird...
Period due Mon so 🤞🤞 Mon passes without AF and I think after that it'll feel more real! Only 3+4 right now.

GalaxyGirl24 · 21/12/2019 08:39

@Minniemee Hey, yes I had a BFP a few days ago and have tested every day twice a day since then 🤦🏾‍♀️ symptoms wise I've had sore ish boobs but seem to be easing off...horrific headaches and I've now picked up a flu on the last day of term (yesterday) after being illness free all bloody term - typical! Had a really high fever of 38C so took 1 paracetamol of 500mg as after researching it's apparently best thing to do but still in panic mode !

GalaxyGirl24 · 21/12/2019 08:41

@ml01omm yes I've had terrible insomnia too which is a very new thing for me as usually my sleep is great! horrid taste in my mouth also, really claggy

TunnocksTcake · 21/12/2019 10:00

My god ladies I neeeeed to stop testing! I keep waking up really early like 4am and making myself do a test then I can't get back to sleep for ages worrying if it's darker than previous 🙈 I know I don't even need to use fmu now and I have loads of symptoms so no reason to keep testing. This is such a crazy ride. Also had 2 dreams now that I'm bleeding or have pink cm or something. I guess it's what I'm most scared of. Can't wait for the scan on the 18th jan.

Peanutty86 · 21/12/2019 10:12

@TunnocksTcake I was exactly like this with my first pregnancy. Now I'm a bit more relaxed (aka testing when I wake up not in the middle of the night! 😂) it's all a big secret still as I will only tell husband on Christmas morning. We will be going to see my family on Boxing Day (abroad) until 11.01. and once I told my sister who's a midwife I'm hoping she will offer to take me for a scan. She did last time and we saw a heartbeat at 6+2 so really really hoping I'll work out timing wise!

Minniemee · 21/12/2019 10:37

Had our early scan this morning and this what baby looks like at 6+6 days, measures 9mm!!

OH thought it was twins until the sonographer explained that it's the umbilical cord and yolk sac haha!

Feels a lot more real now and I definitely shed some tears of relief. Although my OH has said that it still hasn't fully hit him yet even though he saw the scan, am I right to feel a little sad and annoyed at this?

I'd 100% recommend an early scan for all your worried ladies like me.

BFP! August/September 2020 Babies!
Mrs71 · 21/12/2019 11:08

@Minniemee aww I bet you feel so relived. I can't wait to get to 6/7 weeks to have my early scan done too. I did a clear blue digital this morning it said 2-3 weeks. Your partner may just need time for it to sink in. I know where you're coming from though I would want my DH to be happy considering we've been waiting for this for 2 years. X

Mrs71 · 21/12/2019 11:10

@TunnocksTcake don't worry I'm exactly the same. I'm the opposite though I don't want to test because I keep thinking the line won't be there!! It took me ages this morning to do clear blue digital I was so relived when it said 2-3 weeks.

Minniemee · 21/12/2019 11:26

@Mrs71 thank you!! And I know the feeling, although I'd like to say it's made me feel totally at ease but I don't think anything will until after the 12 weeks!

My OH is really pleased, he just said he thought we would get that moment where it would all hit him when he saw the scan but he hasn't had it yet which makes me feel sad as I guess us ladies bond with them straight away!

So pleased to hear of your success after 2 years of trying ❤️

f00k · 21/12/2019 12:01

@GalaxyGirl24 @ml01omm insomnia here too. I was awake until 3am last night. Didn't help that we're still sharing our room with 15m old DD who decided that 1am was a great time to stand up in her cot waving "hiya" at us. DP is has man flu at the moment so probably no chance of a nap later.

GalaxyGirl24 · 21/12/2019 12:09

@Minniemee that's amazing - thanks for sharing that! We have just booked a 6/7 week scan and had wondered what it might show! So excited now for it to feel more real

@f00k oh dear, I hope you manage to get some sleep tonight! Can't be easy being pregnant and also having a little one!

Martina2311 · 21/12/2019 14:07

Hello ladies, congartulations on all your recent positives!! 🥰 May I join? I just found out today at 11/12dpo. Looks like this could bring us somewhere around 1.9. My birthday is on Sept 3rd :) I havent told my partner yet. Are any of you waiting for Christmas to share the news? It's only a few days but I'm thinking if I can keep my mouth shut. 😄 But maybe if I can think of an original way to tell him on Christmas, I may be able to wait. Any tips?

A little background: We have a 7 year old son already and we were pregnant last year around this time of the year...unfortunately at the beginning of 2019 we found out we have suffered a missed miscarriage and this was very painful. It took 2 months until I could close the topic at least physically. I had to then wait a while as I had to change jobs but now we started trying again and I cant even believe it, but conceived on our first cycle. I was totally overwhelmed this morning and cried for good half hour. Not exactly from happiness but just really all different emotions. I was so sure it wouldnt work right away and although I did feel different during the 2WW, I didnt want to associate it with anything as I didnt want to be disappointed. Anyone else after a recent MC? I feel really happy but also scared and questioning myself if I am ready to go through it, in case something goes wrong again.

ClaraLane · 21/12/2019 14:17

Hi folks, can I join please? 5+2 with baby #2 and due on 19th August but will have baby week before as I’ll be having an elective c section. My daughter will be 3 on 20th July and we’ve been trying for a year! I’m off work with hyperemesis which I suffered from last time and I’m on antisickness tablets for it. Been throwing up since the day my period was meant to arrive!

f00k · 21/12/2019 14:28

Congratulations @Martina2311! What wonderful news for you after everything you've been through. Totally understandable that you must be worried. In regards to surprising your DP, you could wrap up the pregnancy test in a box? Or make a lovely message and put it in a cracker? I found out a few days ago and I couldn't resist telling DP straight away. Would have been great to wait until Christmas but I'm awful at keeping secrets!

Congrats to you too @ClaraLane. I'm also having an ELCS so although I'm due on the 28th it will be 2-3 weeks earlier than that. Hope you feel better soon. I haven't had sickness yet. I got it towards the end of the first trimester with my first but quite early on with my second. It really is awful being sick! Can't imagine how you must feel having hyperemesis.

GalaxyGirl24 · 21/12/2019 15:15

@Martina2311 - Congratulations to you, I think it sounds like a lovely idea to share it on Christmas if you have the willpower to wait that long! 💕 we are considering telling our parents on Christmas but I'm in two minds as if something goes wrong it'll just be devastating - although I suppose I'd need support at that time. It just feels surreal at the moment as it's our first.

GalaxyGirl24 · 21/12/2019 15:17

@ClaraLane Congratulations to you, although Hyperemesis sounds bloody awful! Bless you! How do you cope with it? I've had no proper nausea yet but then again I found out early and still due AF on 23/12/19 and bricking it in case I come on.

Peanutty86 · 21/12/2019 15:37

Welcome and congratulations to our new ladies!

@Martina2311 yes, I'm waiting until Christmas morning. We have a 17 months old and when I told husband I got him baby stuff from his football team, one was a soft ball which the baby and he play with daily. So I got another one.... not sure on how to do it yet, but will have a couple of days to think.
