Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

Congratulations everyone!

I’m 5+7 today, so 6 weeks tomorrow, and have a scan first thing tomorrow morning. Really nervous about that as I’ve never been pregnant before, so I don’t know what I’m going to see. Just hoping to see something!

I have two weeks off over the holidays, so hoping that any sickness kicks in then, so I can get used to it before I go back to work. Started getting a bit of nausea yesterday and I’m starving all the time - it’s a weird contradiction.

OzEm · 19/12/2019 09:20

Congratulations everyone else! All very exciting!

For those of you that already have scans booked in are these private or with the doctor? I’ve been told I won’t have a scan till 12 weeks x

GalaxyGirl24 · 19/12/2019 09:21

Hello all! Can I join this thread? I'm hoping beyond hope that this month is our month.

Currently 11 or 12 DPO and got my first BFP yesterday and then tested again today and a nice strong one on various tests!

In panic mode because I've seen so much on here about testing early and then having a MC/CP. AF is due on 23/12/19. I desperately want to tell my parents and DH's mum, but won't until I (hopefully) miss my period.

I'll attach my test pictures - I've also wrangled the GP into sending me for blood tests and I'm currently open to the Fertility Clinic and have been TTC for a while with low progesterone (although that was done in July so I'm hoping it's higher by now)

TunnocksTcake · 19/12/2019 09:58

Congrats to the newbies Xmas Smile
@Rachae I'm the same, relishing alll the symptoms this time around, it just all feels very different from my MMC pregnancy in the summer. I suppose every pregnancy is different, and it is reassuring that I am feeling all these symptoms. Glad I'm not alone, I thought the hunger and nausea would come a little later on but NOPE!

I booked an early scan privately for 8 weeks as that is when I think you are definitely going to see / hear a heartbeat. I don't want to go too early and freak myself out if there's nothing there. Will be so nervous on the day but I also cant wait. Will be mid January, the same week my previous baby would have been born so hopefully will be good news to keep our spirits up. I believe you can only get early scans on NHS if you have complications, that's how they do it in my area anyway.

Mrs71 · 19/12/2019 10:11

Hi ladies! Do you mind if I join?

I got my BFP yesterday evening I'm beyond happy and I've started my referral to the fertility clinic it'll be 2 years since I started ttc in Jan.

@GalaxyGirl24 I feel exactly the same I'm so worried! I just hope everything will be ok. I have an overactive thyroid so am being treated for that just have to make sure my TSH levels stay above a certain range.

Beth804 · 19/12/2019 10:21

@GalaxyGirl24 @Mrs71 welcome girls, and congrats! I think it's totally normal to be worried, I'm exactly the same. Will definitely feel better when I've seen something on a scan - waiting for the hospital to ring today to give me a date but should be early-mid January 🤞
@TunnocksTcake love your name by the way! You're exactly right, embrace all the symptoms as a sign things are going well!

@Mk9yy and @Iliada did you book in for private scans then? I'm wondering whether to book in for a private 7 week one to kind of cement things in my mind (is it 7 weeks from the BFP though or 7 weeks from last period?) x

GalaxyGirl24 · 19/12/2019 10:24

@Mrs71 Aw congratulations this must feel so fantastic for you if you've been TTC 2 years! Is it your first?

GalaxyGirl24 · 19/12/2019 10:25

@Beth804 yeah I can't quite believe it, and I do keep thinking that something is going to go wrong because I've been daft and tested before AF is due but I just couldn't help myself! 😖

Rachae · 19/12/2019 10:40

@Iliada I totally understand and try not to worry too much... I had my private 6 week scan on Sunday and it showed nothing at all. We were so so worried and then told suspected ectopic. 3 days later (yesterday) we went to the early assessment unit and the baby showed up with a heartbeat. So here's hoping you see something, but not to panic too much if not as dates can be surprisingly out!

@TunnocksTcake ohh exciting at the 8 week mark! Not too long to wait really as Christmas flys by Smile.

Mk9yy · 19/12/2019 11:50

@GalaxyGirl24 I had a NHS scan yesterday as o had spotting and was in a&e the day after I found out I was pregnant, it was a precautionary one as I've miscarried before however my partner couldn't be there yesterday due to the army not allowing him home so we have booked a private one for the 30th so he can be there to witness it! Xx

Mrs71 · 19/12/2019 11:57

@GalaxyGirl24 congratulations to you too, yes it's my first I'm so excited, worried anxious at the same time. I really didn't think it was going to happen and the month I gave up I got my BFP.
I still can't quite believe it to be honest and it doesn't seem real. Did you make an appointment with you gp to tell him? I'm not really sure what to do next I am under an endocrinologist because of my thyroid so have called her Secretary this morning to try speak to her.

f00k · 19/12/2019 12:16

Has anyone arranged their booking appointment yet? I'm only 3+6 so I'm thinking of waiting to call in the New Year. But the midwife clinic only runs two days a week at my GP so they do get booked up very quickly. So I'm debating whether to call now or wait.

Ginblooded · 19/12/2019 12:28

@f00k I booked it on Tuesday, I would have been about 4 weeks 3 days. It’s booked for January 9th 😊

f00k · 19/12/2019 12:39

I think I'll give them a call on Monday @Ginblooded Smile everything starts to feel more real once all the appointments begin!

Annafs · 19/12/2019 14:37

Congrats to everyone!

I’m 5 weeks 4 days currently and doesn’t yet feel real, although I have plenty of fatigue, nausea and vomiting to remind me! I have had one previous miscarriage at around 6 weeks although did not know I was pregnant until miscarryingSad so quite worried these first few weeks. The day I found out I filled out a form for my local community midwife team and they called me a few days later to arrange a booking appointment in the new year. I’ll be 8 weeks by then but also debating to have a private early scan or not - think seeing a heartbeat will reassure me that this is really happening but also have heard they’re a bit rubbish as it’s so early. Exciting times regardless!!

Tink2007 · 19/12/2019 14:51

I took a test yesterday as I was 3 days late and got a positive :) Ran and got a clear blue digital as well and it said Pregnant - 2/3 weeks :)

It will be our third.

Still feels very surreal.

f00k · 19/12/2019 16:04

Congrats @Tink2007! Also expecting our third. Doesn't seem real at the moment either. This is definitely our last though so I want to enjoy it as much as I can. I just want a few weeks to fast forward so things start happening!

TunnocksTcake · 19/12/2019 18:08

There must be something in the air! Found out yesterday my best friend is 8 weeks and just heard my sister in law is 10 weeks!! 💕 here's hoping they are all happy and healthy pregnancies!

Tink2007 · 19/12/2019 19:29

Thank you f00k!

It just isn’t sinking in 🤣 And I feel like I’m too old at 34! Definitely our last too!

Zm2019 · 19/12/2019 19:41

Congratulations everyone.
We also found out on Sunday with #2. Been trying since August.
We have told our parents already, but we are telling our close family and dd on xmas day. They will be so excited. Due end of August x

Bert2020 · 19/12/2019 19:43

Hello all, after 3 years of ttc, we finally got a BFP for DC2. Congratulations to everyone else too. Will be almost 4 years between them. We are telling my family Christmas Day and DH’s at the end of January when we see them.

Maggie272 · 19/12/2019 19:49

Hi! I think I'm 4 weeks - which is strange...I conceived through IVF, and I just got my BFP...fingers crossed

Iliada · 19/12/2019 19:52

Thanks Rachae. I’m particularly worried because I’m going to be far away from the clinic over Christmas, so if there’s nothing visible tomorrow, there’s no way to find out what’s going on for over 2 weeks, and it’s Christmas, after all. Don’t know why I’m already catastrophising!

I’m so glad that your second scan held good news for you. That must have been such a scary time. Thanks for the support!

Beth804 · 19/12/2019 20:20

Ahh @Bert2020 there will be just under 4 years between mine too!
