Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@SweetStrawberryKisses congrats! I know how you feel, it was our first month TTC too and I also couldn't believe it when I got BFP at 10dpo. Such a surprise! Feeling very lucky and thankful. I'm 13dpo now. Did another test today and the line was darker so looking good :)
Have you told anyone yet? I've told a handful of people coz I just couldn't not but going to keep my mouth shut now until 12 weeks...
I'm hoping I can get a gp appointment after Xmas and before Nye.

Does anyone have an early 7 week scan place in London or Milton Keynes they would recommend??

@Maggie272 thank you, yes, it's really exciting that my sis is pregnant too! Also her first baby 🥰

GalaxyGirl24 · 22/12/2019 13:55

@ml01omm oh gosh, I've read the same things but trying to convince myself to not think the worst until the worst is proven. I had originally planned to tell my parents at Christmas but I'm going to wait until our early 6 week scan now 5.1.19 - although that may all change when people ask if I'm having a drink and I have to say no firmly

AAA89 · 22/12/2019 14:06

Congratulations to all new BFPs
See a lot of you aren't sure about telling people, I'm 5+2 and I've told my mum and my best friend, partner has told his mum too. The way I see it is if something were to happen they would know and support, if all is fine then I get to share the excitement :)

Anybody else hate the smell of certain things? I cannot stomach the smell of pork cooking 🤢 gutted as I love my stuffing with xmas dinner ha ha

akiara · 22/12/2019 16:34

@AAA89 I told some people too. I had a late mc before, but the people I told are the people I would tell if I had a mc anyway. No Facebook announcements or anything... Wink

I get waves of nausea... nothing extreme. It seems to be based around what I eat. If I stick to veggies, and not overeating... and not letting my stomach get empty, then I feel alright. Smells don't really bother me, but I do notice an increased sensitivity to smells.

@f00k Glad I'm not the only one! Grin Still, as each day goes on I feel pretty stable. My body just feels different... hard to explain. I think I would notice a change if I was going to start bleeding -- that's what happened during my first mc. First I stopped feeling pregnant, then had pink discharge. Sad

Hi Everyone, got my BFP this morning at 13 DPO 🙂 Really shocked and also really nervous as not due on until Christmas Day so just want to get past that before I get too excited 🤞I've not had many symptoms other then feeling really tired so still can't believe it's happening!

GalaxyGirl24 · 23/12/2019 08:15

@misslaura90 congratulations! So how many weeks will you be on xmas eve then? That'll be exciting as you'll be able to bring the scan pic to show on Christmas ! ❄️

GalaxyGirl24 · 23/12/2019 08:17

@xSLPx Welcome and congratulations! I was the same! I got my BFP at what must have been 11DPO and have tested every day since! Today is my AF due date so I daren't get out of bed in case I trigger her starting 😆 I will get up and test again though. I'm literally going to test nearly every day until my early scan on 5.1.19

xSLPx · 23/12/2019 09:12

Thanks @GalaxyGirl24, I'm going to try not to test again until Christmas Day and then hope AF doesn't turn up and then I'll probably test again on Boxing Day. When did you contact your GP?

I have finally passed my period dates! Haha strange but it feels like an achievement and feels more real now I actually have missed my period! I think I want to do one more CB digital to get 2-3 weeks (I'm 19DPO now) just to be doubly sure its progressing but I know they can be a bit didgy - I stopped testing with FRERS on Friday because I ran out.
I'm definitely feeling it now too, nauseous, boobs are like rocks, super bloated, headaches... It all seems to be happening earlier than it did with my lost pregnancy - is that a thing? I know you get symptoms earlier with second children, is the same after a MC? My body did think it was pregnant for 12 weeks so its possible maybe...?
I ordered a load of trousers with elasticated waists yesterday, all my trousers are too tight already and I think I may need to hit the sales for new bras too!

Zm2019 · 23/12/2019 10:03

@tunnocksTcake I will be 5 weeks on boxing day and I still keep taking tests just to check. Only symptoms i have is sore boobs and tired and the odd time of feeling bloated. My leggings feel tight and i kept thinking whether to buy some maternity ones to feel a little but better but didnt know if if that was too soon lol. My first appointment with midwife is 14th January.
Still doesn't feel real at the moment. Telling my daughter on xmas day with a tshirt and a book. I think deep down she may already know as her behaviour towards me had changed and I keep getting cuddles lol she is 6 x

Mrs71 · 23/12/2019 10:57

Congratulations to all the new bfp's. xx

@FoxtrotSkarloey congrats! I'm the same as you I think my due date will be 28th Aug so would be the baby of the year. I did think about this too but I've wanted this for so long I'm ok about it. Also could be September baby.

@TunnocksTcake I did a clear blue digital and 2-3 weeks this morning. That's the first time I did it too.

misslaura90 · 23/12/2019 11:12

Thank you how long gone are you? First scan tomorrow nervous x

misslaura90 · 23/12/2019 12:22

Thank you. Going by online calendar should be 6 weeks 5 days. Have had some spotting which Is why going in for early scan so fingers crossed really. Then if all okay first appointment with midwife is new years eve. I feel like it's been a whirlwind the past 2 weeks. I guess it's normal to feel up and down emotionally? I normally have everything in control in life and I feel totally out of control and put my depth so be good to get extra family support x

f00k · 23/12/2019 12:55

Congrats @FoxtrotSkarloey. How old is your DS? I'm due 28th and I've also been thinking about the school year. DD is early September so she'll be turning 5 just after she starts school, where as this baby will only have just turned 4! Seems so young to be starting school. DS is 8 now and there are a few August-borns in his class, but everyone catches up eventually. I think you can delay starting school but I don't know much about it nor anyone who has done it.

Hi @misslaura90 congrats! I'd imagine a surprise pregnancy would put anyone on an emotional rollercoaster! It's a big change for your body, your hormones and also your future. It can feel scary knowing that everything is out of your hands until baby arrives. Let us know how you get on at your scan.

misslaura90 · 23/12/2019 13:13

Hi @f00k. Thank you I feel that whatever the outcome after tomorrow I can relax a little bit. But will let you know how get on. How many weeks are you and what symptoms have you had so far? I seem to have missed the morning sickness just feel tired (napping at 3pm in the afternoon) , very bloated and heartburn. Boobs seem to feel bigger but not too sensitive at the moment.

f00k · 23/12/2019 13:30

@misslaura90 I'm only 4+3 and I have pretty much zero symptoms. I had sore boobs before getting my BFP but they feel normal now. Getting heartburn at night though which I get really bad in every pregnancy. Morning sickness didn't hit me with DC1 until around 10 weeks. Sickness with DC2 was much earlier and worse. Hoping I skip it altogether this time! Doesn't quite feel real yet because of the lack of symptoms. Never thought I'd be wishing for tiredness and nausea just so I can feel pregnant!

f00k · 23/12/2019 13:33

Oh and just to reassure you, I had spotting with DS at 6 weeks and everything was fine. But you're doing the right thing getting checked out.
