Hi, just found out after a long time trying! Haven't really told anyone yet so thought some ladies in the same position might want somewhere to share symptoms/stories/worries. Doesn't feel real yet and that 12 week scan seems a loooooong way off!! 😂

@ClaraLane how exciting! What time is yours? I'm at 11:50 so it's not too long to wait tomorrow!
So many things vary by location, it's mad!

Mrs71 · 09/02/2020 23:42

@megan81088 ah that's such a lovely scan picture. I also feel worried about lack of symptoms so makes me feel a lot better.

@Ginblooded good luck for your scan tomorrow. I've been getting few spots now and again too but midwife did say this is very common.

@IslayBrigid not long to go! I just want this week out the way then it'll be round the corner. Also feeling nervous and excited at the same time. I have been looking into hypnobirthing couple of my friends had it they really recommend it.

Mrs71 · 09/02/2020 23:43

@ClaraLane good luck for you scan too! 😊

ClaraLane · 10/02/2020 11:18

Scan went well, only one in there and she had a guess at gender too! I’m measuring a week ahead so looking like I’ll have my section at the very beginning of August.

IslayBrigid · 10/02/2020 12:14

Hi @ClaraLane congrats on your scan! Yippee. So how far along are you now? And what was the gender guess?? I am really keen to ask the sonographer to guess too... mine is next Weds 19th. Sounds like a good idea to co-sleep at the hospital, if difficult to move around after a section. I think often after going through something first time around we know better what we want second time eh... I guess that is the scary thing about being a first time pregnant mum!

Yes @Mrs71 it couldn't go quick enough! Just can't wait till the weekend as we are going away to the Cotswolds and I have Monday off so then just one more work day on Tues to get through then scan time. :) I'm definitely keen to do a hypno-birthing course, I just don't know which. Katherine Graves Hypno seems like the best but it is also the priciest

ClaraLane · 10/02/2020 13:41

@IslayBrigid Well I was 12+5 going by LMP but I’m now 13+4. I told her it was the quickest week of pregnancy yet 😂 I said I thought it was another girl because I thought I could see the 3 white lines that show the vulva and she said they were veins and arteries and she thought the opposite to me.

Eek my friend who had IVF is having her scan on the 19th too, so exciting! Ooh a weekend away will be lovely too.

Ginblooded · 10/02/2020 16:27

12 weeks and 5 days apparently, with a due date of 19th August 💕💕 not far off what I thought! So happy to see little pip wiggling about 😊

BFP! August/September 2020 Babies!
Mrs71 · 10/02/2020 17:01

@ClaraLane congrats on your scan! 💫

@Ginblooded what a lovely picture!! 😊 so crazy how the 12 week scans looks like proper little babies. 💕 Did you ask about the spotting at all or did they say it's all good? I can't wait till mine next Wednesday even though it feels like sooooo long away.

@IslayBrigid I haven't really looked into any hypnobirthing yet but I do this is something I will consider. I just want to get the 12 week scan out the way I'm feeling sooooo nervous. Oh lovely, have a lovely weekend away 😊

ClaraLane · 10/02/2020 17:01

Ooh lovely picture @Ginblooded - you nicked my original EDD 😂

Not sure if one has already been set up but does anyone fancy a Facebook group? Might be easier than threads on here?

Martina2311 · 10/02/2020 17:15

Hello everyone. Hope you are all doing great ladies! I haven't been here for a while as I was a bit out of energy - had a bad cold and mild sinusitis but its slowly getting better now.

So lovely to see all those scan photos coming through! Its such an exciting time for all of us and finally we are all reaching the safer zone. I have my main scan booked for next Wednesday but like I mentioned before, I've decided to book one more private just to go to the main one less anxious, considering I have to go straight to work from the hospital. I wanted to feel more reassured the 12 week scan will go well. So I booked one for tomorrow when I will be 11+2 and really hoping that all is fine. I am a bit sad because my partner was supposed to come with me too, but he is in Netherlands and they cancelled his flight for tonight due to the winds. Now he is not able to come, I will have to go by myself, but as long as everything is ok, thats the main thing. :)

IslayBrigid · 11/02/2020 08:58

Hey everyone. @ClaraLane I'd be keen for a Facebook group! Its a nice way of keeping in touch and a bit less confusing that Mumsnet. I think we are nearing 1000 comments now too so will need to start a new thread anyway.
What do people think? I'm happy to set one up?

I'm having a little single shot coffee today. I'm a bit nervous but I'm just sooooo tired ATM. I usually just stick to one tea in the morn (which still has caffiene but less) or a decaf coffee. But I've looked into it and one small coffee is still within allowed limit 🧐 I believe
Anyone else still drinking coffee / tea or all on the decaf?

GalaxyGirl24 · 11/02/2020 09:01

@IslayBrigid It's awful isn't it - I'm glad you've mentioned that about Dulux as the paint being used by these painters was Dulux also so fingers crossed that means no adverse effects!

I know what you mean, I'm big on planning things to a T (most often too far in advance) so I keep looking at all of the options available to me and trying to plan all the classes I want to get to etc but then try to calm myself down as I want to get out of first trimester first.

I'm sure your Doula will cover all of that - when will she start her involvement with you?

GalaxyGirl24 · 11/02/2020 09:03

@Ginblooded That is a lovely scan photo, I'm so pleased it went well for you 😊

GalaxyGirl24 · 11/02/2020 09:06

@Martina2311 Sorry to hear that you've been unwell! I hope you have a speedy recovery, I've only had sinusitis once but I remember it being horrific so fingers crossed you recover quickly :)

I've booked another private scan also! At 11+5 and then my NHS one is 12+4. I'm just so worried, as since yesterday my symptoms seem to have stopped. I know that isn't a reason in itself to be worried but I've read too much online and now my panic is spiralling!

I hope your scan goes well and reassures you for the NHS one 💕

ClaraLane · 11/02/2020 09:06

Hope it goes well today @Martina2311!

Yes please @IslayBrigid if you want to set it up I’ll happily help you moderate? I’ll PM you my FB name so you can find me. I think my August ‘17 babies one was set up as secret so no one could see that we’d joined it.

IslayBrigid · 11/02/2020 09:12

Ok sure will set up a FB group this morn and yes send me your FB name. I will also post the link here once it's set up and will make it secret :) hopefully others want to join too!!

@GalaxyGirl24 once I've had my 12 week scan I will book the doula and she will be around to help with questions over next few months then as you get further along you have a couple of sessions where she helps you do your birth plan etc and then she comes to the birth.
Yes hopefully Dulux isn't lying to us!✨😬💕
Good luck for your scan! Is that this week?

@Martina2311 meant to say, hope you are feeling better now xx good luck for today! X

GalaxyGirl24 · 11/02/2020 09:16

I keep trying to remember what @megan81088 said, about having minimal symptoms but everything being ok 🌟

GalaxyGirl24 · 11/02/2020 09:19

Hey ladies a FB group sounds really great! I'd happily join but I'm not sure how to PM on here as I'm using the app?

Gosh, that sounds amazing @IslayBrigid - you know what, it sounds like a lovely job to have being a Doula. I wonder how you get into it - I've heard a lot of them are ex midwives/nurses etc.

And yes my scan is Friday but I've messaged the lady to see if she has any earlier 🤦🏾‍♀️

Ginblooded · 11/02/2020 09:25

Ohh a fb group sounds lovely 😊

GalaxyGirl24 · 11/02/2020 09:25

@IslayBrigid also, just re reading the thread and seeing what you've said about caffeine. I've gone off hot drinks entirely since 5 weeks! I used to have around 3/4 cups of tea a day; maybe a sweet milky coffee every 2 weeks.

Martina2311 · 11/02/2020 09:26

Thank you ladies! Just on my way to the scan. I am feeling better day by day. I've bought the neti pot to help me clear the nasal airways and it's been pretty helpful.
Great idea with the FB group! Would be happy to join :)

@GalaxyGirl24 I completely understand lovely. Although it's not cheap to keep going for these scans, the feeling and reassurance you feel after is priceless. I think once we are all past the 12 week scan, we will all relax a bit more. I am also hoping that I will feel baby move a bit earlier as that's what they say often happens with second pregnancy.

When is your private scan then? I am feeling positive but also nervous as before any other scan. But I'm happy I decided to go as next week at the 12 week scan, it would be already 3 weeks since we saw the baby was fine and I think I would be going there quite anxious. I always feel a bit paranoid because I feel like something can can any time. It's not like I'm completely stressed on an every day basis, I'm fine otherwise..its just a nervous thought here and there. But I think it's mainly the regular scans that help me and make me feel good and positive.

IslayBrigid · 11/02/2020 09:32

Hey all! Private FB group is set up just request to join: m.facebook.com/groups/2257662621194306?ref=bookmarks

Martina2311 · 11/02/2020 09:33

@IslayBrigid dont worry, I think you are completely fine. I know people that dont give up coffee through the whole pregnancy and have at least that one cup a day. Im sure one coffee wont do any harm at all. :) I've loved coffee and had 1-2 a day before we conceived but I dropped it completely since and luckily I havent been even craving it. I did get a decaf on a couple of occasions when out with friends but otherwise I havent been missing it. Just like you if I do feel very tired on occasion, then I would have a cup of tea in the morning and call it a treat which I slowly enjoy 😁 but otherwise I'm not missing any of it much. I dont feel bad having that one cup or a glass of coke on a rare occasion.

megan81088 · 11/02/2020 09:40

@GalaxyGirl24 yes just remember I still have no symptoms whatsoever and my scan was fine so try and stay positive but I honestly know how difficult it is to stay positive when you don’t feel anything I can’t wait until my next scan but 24th feb feels a lifetime away x

GalaxyGirl24 · 11/02/2020 09:40

@Martina2311 aw, hope it goes well ⭐️ yes, I feel really lucky that we have a scan place nearby that has an offer on at the moment as scans are £30, and considering I'll have been for 5 private ones in total it does add up! But I know other places charge up to £100 for a scan! I'm the same, not stressed all the time it's just when my symptoms drop and then I start to panic!
My scan is Friday on Vday 💕 - unless we can get it any earlier, fingers crossed it's all good news as I am what people call a pessimist (I like to say a realist 😂) lucky for me DH is the opposite so we balance.

@IslayBrigid The link isn't working for me - if I can figure out how to PM I'll just message you my FB name to add me in as it won't let me load it - just says the link is broken x
