New thread for our July gang 😊

Shall we do a little reminder of who we all are so we can see who is on here - Age, current EDD and if we know our 12 week scan date?

I'll start:

31 - EDD 08/07 - 12 week scan 24/12

@showmewhatyougot Haha makes me feel better for getting so upset over my milk! Glad it's not just me lol.

@Kiki275 That sounds amazing! I was so upset I didn't get to have my tea this morning (even tho it's now decaf) and no cereal so I moaned this morning and my colleague let me use hers! I complained to ASDA as I had 8 substitutes, 2 items unavailable, out of date bread and then my smelly milk so they refunded me for all the subs and gave me a £5 goodwill gesture. I wasn't happy!

I'm so sad ladies, it is our work Christmas party tonight but I had another migraine in the office and lost my vision temporarily and my arm went numb so my colleague drove me home and I'm resting in bed. I was looking forward to it so much and just so annoyed this is my 3rd migraine during my pregnancy. Thankfully the pain is manageable. Seems they're more frequent but less severe. My DH is away and has been all week so I'll order myself a pizza later to cheer myself up!

@RedRobin7 I get migraines, which are more visual than painful and funnily enough had one at work yesterday. I find lighting is a massive trigger, could you move desks at work to a better lighting environment?

My MW has just rang saying my bloods have been sent for further analysis as they've found some antibodies present and asking if I'd had any blood transfusions or products Confused x

PrincipalVernon · 19/12/2019 22:47

How is everyone feeling? I’ve been taking vitamin b6 to try ease off the sickness- I upped the dosage (only to 50mg) and I’m actually feeling more human.. not a magic cure but I’m not getting the constant feeling dizzy and sick. Not sure if it’s a placebo effect but I’m too scared to stop taking them now haha

RedRobin7 · 20/12/2019 10:00

@Kiki275 I think my work migraines are heat related as we still have to dress for the summer at work. It's ridiculous! I work for a very well known company that provides air con amongst other things but we can't get our office temp right?! HR and Health and Safety sit on a cooler floor so they have no interest. My manager is moaning on my behalf but it falls on deaf ears.

Although I do have another theory about yesterday's migraine. Sometimes strong smells can trigger one, such as being in a house with too many air fresheners or candles. Yesterday my manager opened a hamper she'd had delivered recently and it had off cheese and meat in it. The smell was horrendously strong and may have triggered it!

That's very random about the blood results. I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. Any idea if you'd get results before xmas? Sometimes I'd rather they just did it and tell you afterwards instead of causing worry waiting for answers.

How long did it take for everyone to get their blood work/urine sample results back from their booking appt with their midwife?

I've chased but I'm still waiting to hear back. I had mine taken on Sunday and was told it could take up to 2 days, but heard nothing since 🤔

My overthinking brain is now assuming something must be wrong. It seems to be a recurring theme for me that my blood/urine/scan results go missing. I'm still waiting on results from a CT scan that happened 2 years ago 🤦🏼‍♀️

RedRobin7 · 20/12/2019 12:27

@Mimi91 My first pregnancy I didn't hear anything - no news is normally good news. I just had a letter some time later to confirm they found out I'm rhesus negative (but I already knew that!). They probably would have called you by now if they said 2 days so try not to to worry x

OP posts:
Mimi91 · 20/12/2019 12:33

@RedRobin7 thank you 😊 I'm rhesus negative too x

Mimi91 · 20/12/2019 14:02

Just had my bloods back. The blood has clotted so need to repeat in the new year - knew something was up 🙈

squirrelnutkins1 · 20/12/2019 15:57

squirrelnutkins1 · 20/12/2019 18:20

Thanks ladies I'm so pleased!!
No they didn't say anything so I'm guess stretching pains too! Xx

susie12345 · 20/12/2019 21:31

Im excited for my scan on monday but im a bit scared cos im not feeling as pregnant as i did a week ago, which worries me.

Ethellsmum · 20/12/2019 21:41

Congratulations on your scan @squirrelnutkins1, what a lovely clear photo too.

My nausea is destroying me today. I’ve been in bed for the past 3 hours cos I can’t cope with feeling this ill. I went out for a carvary lunch and hardly touched it.

Goldington · 20/12/2019 21:47

Hi everyone, It’s been a long time since I’ve visited this thread (or the old one) thanks for creating a new one.

Age: 31
Second pregnancy (first ended in MC at 7 weeks in June 2019)
EDD: 08/07/2019
12 week scan: 24/12/2019

Off LMP I am 11+2 but I did had a private scan at 9+2 that put me forward 3 days so I am 11+5 today going off scan! This does match the positive ovulation test I took so I am going by that date now....if that makes sense 😀

Symptoms starting to ease after having horrendous morning sickness weeks 7+8 then 10+11! I actually had a scan because my symptoms disappeared in week 9 and I was worried something was wrong! I now enjoy the days I don’t feel symptoms and try to get stuff done!

Hope everyone is feeling ok and looking forward to Christmas!

squirrelnutkins1 · 20/12/2019 21:58

We saw it wiggling about too, so cute! Sorry about the nausea ☹️ @Ethellsmum

@susie12345 bet Monday can't come quick enough!

I don't have constant symptoms so my minds been put at rest that that doesn't seem to matter as lil bub is doing just fine in there. I always regret worrying about the lack of symptoms as when the nausea/headaches hit it's really bad! I mentioned I'd been really bloated and had a lot of trapped wind and the nurse smiled and said it's part and parcel of being preg! Anyone else had this? The trapped wind was AWFUL yesterday, so painful. Sorry tmi!

Goldington · 20/12/2019 22:03

YES! I had it SO painful around 6/7 weeks I was in agony! It would get trapped under my ribs and hurt every time I moved! The constipation is the killer for me now 😞 makes me really bloated and it’s painful - feels almost like cramps which adds another layer of worry! I’m trying to add more fibre to my diet hoping that will help shift things along!

Bythelake89 · 21/12/2019 10:25

I changed my username - I was @Nisha98 before.

@squirrelnutkins1 congrats on the lovely scan! It's amazing to see it moving around isn't it Smile Now I like to imagine the little dance moves mine is doing as I go about my day! I've been having terrible trapped wind too - i think it's responsible for my nausea a lot of the time. If I'm feeling sick and manage to do a burp, I get instant relief!

@Goldington the constipation has been a constant for me since about a week before I got my positive pregnancy result. It was one of the first symptoms that made me suspect I may be pregnant. I'm fed up with it! It also gives me little cramps which aren't fun. I eat a lot of fibre and it does get things moving eventually but just a lot slower than I'm used to Hmm I hope the added fibre makes a difference for you.

RedRobin7 · 21/12/2019 10:38

I had another migraine last night, two in two days 😫 this one was a 9/10 for pain: throwing up because I was in agony and couldn't keep paracetamol down. Head still hurting this morning. My migraines start with my body going numb and it happens gradually, hands, arms, down to legs and for the first time ever even my stomach went numb and that was so scary. I hope baby is okay ☹️ lots of bed rest for me now!

Secondsop · 21/12/2019 15:12

Hello everyone. Sorry to hear about the migraines @RedRobin7 - it sounds really awful.

I had my second scan on Thursday - 1st one was a week earlier and at that stage there was just a gestational sac and yolk sac. Someone here (I can’t remember who) told me not to panic and you were right as this week there he/she was, with a little heartbeat. Was backdated to be 6+4, which is actually in line with my cycle and not in line with the usual LMP dating thats always off for me. I’m still v cautious as I’ve been here before and it hasn’t worked, but one step at a time.

Thursday night we got on a plane and are now in South Africa. It was a lot of flying. I felt sick as a dog for the first leg and now, 24 hours after we landed, I still feel awful - sick and exhausted. Am in bed having a lie down. Skipped breakfast cos I slept through it, made it through lunch but my blood sugars were really high (I have diabetes after previous gestational diabetes pregnancies, but was doing great with diet control only until this pregnancy when the hormones have sent it completely haywire and I’m on ever-increasing amounts of insulin). It’s a huge struggle as all I want when feeling sick is the plainest carbs but i can’t have them. Just looked at the dinner restaurant and it’s all steak and seafood! Might have to have a piece of fish, with a few potatoes. I couldn’t have the vax for typhoid etc because it’s not licenced for pregnancy so I have to take extra care with food and salads etc.

showmewhatyougot · 21/12/2019 16:21

@susie12345 we have the same scan date! Christmas Eve eve! I cannot wait! Good luck :)

One of my friends made me an amazing turkey, bacon, Brie and cranberry sandwich and I had to pretend I wasn't even hungry Xmas Sad

All I can think about now is Brie. I'm so obsessed with food atm! It's actually ridiculous, I'm like the hungry caterpillar!

susie12345 · 21/12/2019 16:22

@Secondsop think it might have been me who told you not to panic, im glad you got to see the heartbeat :) hope the sickness gets better, im suffering today too after saying yesterday i didnt feel pregnant anymore, today full blown nausea

Ethellsmum · 21/12/2019 17:06

My nausea wasn’t too bad until mid afternoon and now whack! It’s back with a vengeance. It’s really not helpful when I have presents to wrap, a hour to clean and I’m studying for a degree 🤢🤢🤢🤢

susie12345 · 21/12/2019 17:13

@showmewhatyougot yes we do have the same scan date (mine is private, is yours too?), i cant wait, i really hope they will say that everything is as it should be!
