New thread for our July gang 😊

Shall we do a little reminder of who we all are so we can see who is on here - Age, current EDD and if we know our 12 week scan date?

I'll start:

31 - EDD 08/07 - 12 week scan 24/12

@RedRobin7 I read that we now have two pints of fluid in the uterus now! There’s no wonder we are getting our little bumps coming through x

Angloitalian83 · 01/01/2020 23:11

Hello all 👋🏽

Late to the party, but happy to be here for the peer support & advice from experienced mamas. Vital statistics:

Age: 36
EDD: 31 July (currently 9+5)
First pregnancy, was planned but happened v quickly so it’s taken me some time to adjust & been feeling particularly emotional last couple of days...

Private scan at 6 weeks which confirmed heartbeat. Had booking in appointment with (lovely) midwife on 31 Dec & having another private scan tomorrow. A little nervous as I’ve had some spotting last couple of days & less nausea the last couple of weeks. But my boobs still sore which is a positive sign so I’m hoping things will be ok. 12wk NHS ‘nuchal’ scan on 20 Jan.

One thing to mention - I have needle phobia (& general anxiety in medical environments - ‘white coat syndrome’) so my anxiety levels are generally quite high at the moment when thinking about all that is to come. Poor midwife had me in tears within 5 mins! Great to hear from anyone with similar experiences.

PS happy to join private fb group too if that is happening.

PPS I am so gassy it’s unreal - dreading managing that back in the office on Monday...!

susie12345 · 01/01/2020 23:18

@Angloitalian83 welcome to the group :) good luck with the scan tomorrow, hope all goes well :)

Btw im gassy too and dont know how to manage that, the worst are evenings im constantly trumping lol

RedRobin7 · 02/01/2020 07:51

@Doingitagain37 Only 4lbs is good going, I've definitely put that on over Xmas alone!

@susie12345 I don't think he meant it in a mean way - just one of those guy things where they open their mouths and shouldn't 😉 I also want to lose my Christmas weight but I think I'll just do it with healthier meals, smaller portions and walking on my lunch breaks.

Also I did get to hear the baby's heartbeat at my NHS dating scan. Forgot to ask how fast it was beating though! My sister had her scan a few weeks before me and didn't get to see or hear the heartbeat so I guess it depends on the sonographer.

@Kiki275 Great! You can feel free to set one up if you want, no worries if not I'll do it at the weekend!
Also my DH is thinner than I am! I'm normally a size 10 so I think he thinks it's okay to say I'm fat and it's not hurtful. It is and I've told him!

@LisaxMarie Good to know! I'm updating him with baby size and fluid stats 😂

@Angloitalian83 Welcome and congrats! Good luck with your scan today. I don't suffer from anxiety but my husband has chronic anxiety so I know how debilitating it can be. I was on another bus (before I had a MMC) and there was a lady on there also with a phobia of needles and hospitals so to help with the anxiety of it all they arranged a C section, so that way she was able to prepare for an exact date and know the plan.

I'm so grumpy this morning. DH woke me up snoring 3 times and I'd already woken up several times myself due to needing the loo and worrying about being on my back! It's going to be a long day at work!

susie12345 · 02/01/2020 08:03

@RedRobin7 thanks i would love to hear the heartbeat but will see what happens.

I have a banging headache from yesterday, was hoping it would be gone by this morning but nope, still there. Wish i didnt have to go to work today :(

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/01/2020 08:11

Congrats to the newbies 🥳

I'm not on FB (weird I know) 🤣 but thanks for the offer x

@susie12345 id love to hear the heartbeat too. Must be amazing!

My gassyness seems to have subsided a bit but last week while we were away it reached a new level of painful and loud BlushBlushBlush the joys!!! @Angloitalian83

Ive been feeling really sick since last night. I thought last night was going to be the first time I've actually been sick. My back was aching a bit too yesterday. Anyone's hips been hurting? I always sleep on my side anyway but for the last week I've been waking up in agony in my hips ☹️

@RedRobin7 glad you set OH straight! Of course you're going to have a little bump. All the stretching and hormones and fluid etc. 💕 Hopefully just a one off silly man comment. Hope you make it thru the day not too tired!

Just off to weigh myself. Only put a pound on so far but I think it'll be a lot more this week Blush

peanutfoldover · 02/01/2020 08:37

Hiya! I haven’t posted in ages and here you are nearly through a second thread!

Our 12 week scan is next week and I’ve booked to have the harmony test the day after. Thanks to christmas the last few weeks have whizzed by!! But I dont feel I can celebrate or tell anyone till after the results of the scan and the test so I’ll be 14 weeks before it’s public knowledge!!! Already have a bit of a bump and feel rough all the time.... so I bet a few people are suspicious!

LisaxMarie · 02/01/2020 08:44

I didn’t sleep well last night. Was worrying about my scan today so must have woken up about 4 times.

The gassiness is everywhere then. My new nickname from DH is Mrs Parpy Pants 😂

Good luck to everyone having scans today x

squirrelnutkins1 · 02/01/2020 08:57

🤣🤣🤣 glad he finds it funny!

All the best today 🙏🏻 @LisaxMarie

PixieN · 02/01/2020 09:42

I think I’ve already gained half a stone at 13 weeks! My DH has also remarked that it’s more Christmas excess than baby too 🙄😁

There’s already an FB group set up from this thread for June/July babies. There was a link near the start of the thread I think. I’ll see if I can find it.

PixieN · 02/01/2020 09:43

Actually feeling a bit smug as DH has also gained weight over Xmas and he hasn’t got the baby excuse lol 😂

Sorry I havnt posted in ages! I’d def be up for joining a FB group as I find it easier to keep up, the one I joined with my first is brilliant especially when the little ones are here and your up throughout the night.
I have my nhs scan next Tuesday, I did have a private 8 week scan and according to their dates il be 13weeks for it, I have anxiety around scans (same with my first) so I never really look forward to them.
On a plus the sickness is def better- I’m still sick first thing in the morning but I feel more human throughout the day now, still exhausted by 5pm though haha

RedRobin7 · 02/01/2020 10:13

@LisaxMarie Good luck today!

@PixieN Are there many people from this thread on the fb group? Feels a bit strange joining that one if it's already been set up for a while and lots of people who aren't on this group. Maybe im just being weird lol.

OP posts:
redskap · 02/01/2020 10:29

Hi, all. It’s a bit late but could I still join the group?

Age 39.
EDD: 26/7/2020
12 week scan: 13/1/2020

2nd child, has MMC 3 times in row ( recurs this miscarriages in 2017,2018,2019)

I’m on a treatment plan this pregnancy, Prednisolone and progesterone.

So far so good, I listen to baby’s heartbeat with home Doppler ( angel sounds) everyday since 10w3d.

PixieN · 02/01/2020 11:00

@RedRobin7 Not sure when it was first set up, but it’s a really lovely group and new people are still joining - one lady added this morning and another joined a few days ago I think. I’ve found it really supportive. There have been some references to this thread - think some people are posting more on the FB page now. Some post more than others and some are quieter - like any group. Everyone is supportive and lovely. Lots of great advice too x

RedRobin7 · 02/01/2020 12:22

@redskap Welcome! So sorry for your losses. I know the pain and the anxiety. I was put on metformin and progesterone for this pregnancy but been told to wean off them both now that I'm 14 weeks. I'm completely off progesterone but still on metformin... gone down to one tablets and I'm then going to do half a tab for a week as Suffering with terrible headaches. Hoping baby is strong enough to keep going now! I'm too anxious to get a Doppler in case I can't find the heartbeat and cause myself unnecessary worry!

@PixieN Okay sounds good! I shall join 😊 thank you!

One very wriggly but healthy baby. Put us 2 days ahead so now 12+1 instead of 11+6!

So relieved! The sonography has me jumping up and down to try to get baby to turn around for the Nuchal test 😂

July 2020 - thread 2
Bibinka · 02/01/2020 13:33

What a lovely picture @LisaxMarie

Having mine on Monday . I'm a bit worried I'll be late for a Nuchal measurement but we will see. Also my tummy doesn't seem to be getting any bigger. But still getting nausea especially first thing before breakfast.

LisaxMarie · 02/01/2020 13:40

I know what you mean. I’ve had no sickness at all and minimal symptoms in general so was quite worried about today but it was all fine so try to stay positive (hard I know)

PixieN · 02/01/2020 14:00

@RedRobin7 👍😊

@LisaxMarie your scan pic is lovely 💕 Mine was similar - the sonographer had me wriggling from one side to the other to get baby to move lol. I had to half empty my bladder (not easy) and ended up doing some star jumps!

Bythelake89 · 02/01/2020 14:08

Hi @Angloitalian83 Smile I also suffer from anxiety in medical environments - I hadn't heard the term 'white coat syndrome' - it made me giggle!
More than often I end up in tears in medical situations and get very worked up and stressed before any appointment. My doctor recommended me to see someone about it before becoming pregnant so it would be less of an ordeal for me 😂! He recommended a BWRT practitioner - the general idea of it is to change your habitual response to certain situations. I was sceptical about it at the time, but I feel like I've been incredibly un-anxious so far during my pregnancy which is amazing for me, although I have still been getting nervous before scans etc. It was really nice to read your post and know that someone else is similar Smile

Dav87 · 02/01/2020 15:22

Hi everyone! Congratulations to you all on your pregnancies Smile

Hope I can join in!

I’m 32, currently 10+2 weeks (although feels like years - time is dragging!) with my first pregnancy - EDD: 28/07/2019. I will be having a C-section, so not sure if this will be a few days before the due date or a few weeks? Have heard different things!

Had an early scan at 8 weeks and saw the little heartbeat, which was amazing. All looked good.

Waiting for the midwife to get back to me to confirm my scan date and booking appointment, seems quite late to me but I guess everything slowed down a bit over Christmas.

Does anyone know whether I will be offered the Downs/Edwards test on the same day as my scan please? Is there any other test I should be aware of that I’ll need to have?

Wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies Flowers x

Bibinka · 02/01/2020 15:46

@Dav87 Welcome! I was asked whether I wanted the screening for Down's, Patau, Eduard's, done at the booking appointment with midwife who then arranged the 12 weeks scan. I think at the 12-14 week ultrasound scan they take a nuchal translucency measurement first to assess your risk and take bloods on the same day and send them off.
