New thread for our July gang 😊

Shall we do a little reminder of who we all are so we can see who is on here - Age, current EDD and if we know our 12 week scan date?

I'll start:

31 - EDD 08/07 - 12 week scan 24/12

Happy New Year 🥳 The year of our babies!

@susie12345 I managed to watch the fireworks on tv but fell asleep on the sofa 10 mins later. Still in bed with a headache now but should really get up! Not looking forward to going back into the office tomorrow!

@RedRobin7 im back at work too tomorrow and so wish i had booked it off but luckily only working till 2pm so not a long day which is good.

Yeeey the year we get to meet our babies!!!!!

God im soo excited! I just hope everything goes ok next week!!

LisaxMarie · 01/01/2020 11:52

I think my excitement will kick in after the scan tomorrow. We’ve got so much happening next year so there’s lots to look forward too!

I managed to stay awake until 12.15 but feel just as hungover as the people that were drinking last night 😂

susie12345 · 01/01/2020 12:16

@LisaxMarie good luck with the scan tomorrow, keep us posted :) i understand what you mean about getting excited after the scan, i am still really worried but im just really hoping it will be ok, and i will also start feeling better once the scan is ok :)

LisaxMarie · 01/01/2020 12:26

Yes it’s so confusing isn’t it. One minute your positive and the next you have so many worries. As if pregnancy symptoms weren’t enough 😂

Bythelake89 · 01/01/2020 14:45

I saw this (see photo) when reading the Mumsnet pregnancy book about getting in the habit of sleeping on your side rather than your back from the 2nd trimester onwards. I know there had been some discussion on this thread about it. It goes on to say that if you end up sleeping on your back for part of the night, don't worry too much, it's unlikely to cause you or your baby any harm. And "it soon becomes too uncomfortable to sleep on your back, which is your body's way of telling you not to". I think I would find it tricky to only sleep on my left side, I'm way too much of a wriggler to do that!!

Hi Guys, a little late to the party! I've been watching this thread for weeks but was too nervous to join Blush

I'm 22 years old, 1st pregnancy and 13+5. Was a complete shock to me and my partner (who currently lives in Hamburg!) however we are over the moon with our little bambino ❤️

We've booked a 4D gender scan on the 25th January. Super excited!

LisaxMarie · 01/01/2020 15:47

Welcome @claudia3771 what a lovely surprise for you both!

So exciting about the gender scan! We will be booking an early one to find out too 😊

susie12345 · 01/01/2020 16:58

Ugh headache and fatigue got me now! So tired, shouldnt have stayed up last night.

How early can you book the 4D gender scan? I would love to do that but im worried they wont be able to see anything 🤔

Claudia3771 · 01/01/2020 17:06

@susie12345 Usually they can be booked at 16 weeks +! It was pretty well priced at only £41 so it's an extra wee surprise on my partners 26th birthday Grin

LisaxMarie · 01/01/2020 17:33

Yes I’ll be 16 weeks on my birthday so it’s a little birthday present for me from the hubby 😊

Kiki275 · 01/01/2020 17:41

I've just treated myself to some maternity wear. The best bit though are the two multipacks of size 18 cotton full brief granny knickers. Cannot wait 😂 x

susie12345 · 01/01/2020 18:42

Can i please ask where do they do these scans so cheap? I can only find one near me for £59 but its not even 4D

Doingitagain37 · 01/01/2020 18:51

Hey all, had my NHS scan yesterday, all well which is lovely to see as still getting a bit of spotting. Just catching up on the thread after a few days off, congrats everyone who has had a good scan x my due date is 6th July which I think is the same as one or two others although mine will likely come forward a bit as I'll be c-section

susie12345 · 01/01/2020 18:58

@Doingitagain37 congrats :) how many weeks are you now? Im getting so lost with how many weeks everyone is, sorry. I cant wait to get my due date next week, its exciting :)

Claudia3771 · 01/01/2020 19:53

@susie12345 I live near Glasgow and we have many clinics so it must be competitive pricing here. Maybe keep an eye out for some January deals at the clinics?

Bibinka · 01/01/2020 20:17

@susie12345 We chose window to the womb and go to the packages and prices tab where they have special offers which apply to some of their branches.

RedRobin7 · 01/01/2020 20:29

@Bythelake89 Interesting read, thanks! My sister told me it does get to a point where it's just not comfortable on your back. I've ordered a basic U shape pillow from wowcher as it was half price but saw on another thread that the Queen Rose on Amazon is very popular... wish I saw that thread first.

@Claudia3771 Welcome and congrats! 4D scan sounds amazing. I would love to find out the gender early but DH won't let me as we spent a lot of money seeing a private consultant! Just over 6 weeks to wait!

@Kiki275 Love it! Granny knickers are the new period panties 😂😂

@Doingitagain37 Great news on the scan!

So my DH really upset me this evening but I know he didn't mean it the way it sounds. I showed him my stomach and how I've got a little bump and I said I wasn't sure how much was Christmas food and how much baby and he just responded with, "yeah it's just fat" 😢 I know I've eaten too much over the last 3 weeks but I don't think it's all fat. He said baby is only 7cms so it's not the baby! But the uterus is bigger than the baby! Back in the office tomorrow so back to healthy lunches and no stacking on crisps and chocolate.

Would anyone be interested in a private fb group? I know it's how lots of ladies make friends and support each other even after the birth. Maybe once everyone has had their 12 week scans? Also okay if people would rather stick with MN!

Doingitagain37 · 01/01/2020 20:34

@susie12345 13 wks 3 days 🙂

@RedRobin7 thanks . . Ignore hubby its def a bit of a bump . . I've only put on 4lbs but my trousers are so uncomfortable

susie12345 · 01/01/2020 20:51

@Claudia3771 @Bibinka thanks ladies i will keep an eye out, the only one i found at the window to the womb was £59, so would be good to get it a bit cheaper. I would love to find out sooner but my partner is hesitant for some reason. Think because it is not as accurate? I dont know.

@RedRobin7 i would love to join a private facebook group :). Cant believe your DH would say that, your uterus is probably big enough now. I have put on 8 lbs in the last 6 weeks im going to be so embarrassed when i get weighed at the next midwife appointment, i think i need to try and lose a bit if that is even possible?? Its all the junk food and christmas that did it 😩

@Doingitagain37 awww so you are in second trimester now :) soo cool :)

susie12345 · 01/01/2020 20:57

Can i ask, do you get to hear the baby's heartbeat at the NHS dating scan or would this be at the next midwife appointment at 16 weeks?

Kiki275 · 01/01/2020 21:34

@RedRobin7 I'm totally up for a FB chat, couldn't have got through many a night shift without the Aug 18 bus. If you'd like me to set up or help admin, just yell x

Kiki275 · 01/01/2020 21:37

Also @RedRobin7 ignore DH or ask him what his excuse is then. Baby plus uterus plus fluids etc all add to the bump. Be proud, take a pic and watch it evolve xx
