I'm due late March, currently have a buggy and car seat. Should we have a lot more by this point? This is our first. Also we gave decided not to find out the gender and unisex baby clothes are really difficult to find.

MissPepper8 · 28/12/2019 17:23

@barnyb Happy Birthday, sorry your oh is unwell and you've got a bad back on your birthday though 😔. Hope you have a lovely evening together x

@emmaclare83 Noo to Google lol, I'd try not to worry, my measurements were constantly up and down, both DS and this one have long legs and DS head was a week ( I think) And then it was normal on my growth scan.

I have no idea on position, no one's actually said however, last night underneath my belly button I swear I had babies head as he/she was hiccuping and it was a hard lump. This baby moves around alot though, they still can't pick them up on the doppler.

MissPepper8 · 28/12/2019 17:26

Sorry DS head was a week and 3 days under*

emmaclare83 · 28/12/2019 18:13

@MissPepper8 Thanks, I think you're right, things can change. What I have been thinking is the head - and what my DP has been lovingly talking and singing to each evening - turned out not to be, but in fact is the baby's hard little bum! Grin

atomcats · 28/12/2019 18:37

@barnyb happy birthday! Sorry the day was a bust, but I hope you find time to celebrate at some point!

@emmaclare83 this has made laugh a lot 😂 my husband does the same and now has me wondering what he is singing to!

Has anyone’s other half / friend etc tried to listen to the baby’s heartbeat? I saw it on the NHS start for life web page for 28 weeks and was sceptical but my husband is adamant he can hear it! It depends on where the baby is mind, but he’s managed to find it twice - and checked my pulse to make sure it’s not that he’s hearing. I’m still slight sceptical but it’s nice that there’s something he can experience that I can’t!

barnyb · 28/12/2019 19:08

Hey guys I’m in bed and husband is down on the sofa spluttering! Lovely jubbly :)
quick question. Has anyone else been having “lightening crotch”??
Lol it’s little like lightening is shoot down my nether regions! I think baby must be pushing on a nerve or something but it just happens and it really makes me jump ! It’s a bit burny and very quick stabbing feeling
Good times! X

barnyb · 28/12/2019 19:11

@Hkals I think iv got plenty of time :)
I’m due beginning of March. 2nd to be exact and we have JUST finished all the shopping.
I literally only need a steriliser. But my mother in law is getting that.
We planned to get it all done by New Years and then have it all set up by end of January when I leave work. So the last few weeks will be plain sailing. Hopefully :)
what’s ur plan ?

barnyb · 28/12/2019 19:12

@Hkals I meant you’ve got plenty of time :)

barnyb · 28/12/2019 19:16

@MissPepper8 ah no worries lovely ! It can’t be helped and everyone seems to be poorly at the moment ! If I’m honest I literally just wanted Christmas and my birthday / New Years to hurry up and bugger off this year! 🤩 I just want to meet this baby so badly! It’s been such a long long wait to this point ❤️❤️

barnyb · 28/12/2019 19:18

@atomcats thank you lovely :) il be celebrating next year with my daughter xxxx eeeek

emmaclare83 · 28/12/2019 19:19

@barnyb I've had lightning crotch - it's pretty alarming the first time isn't it?! I also can't help imagining the song "Greased Lightning" every time it happens now. Which is...odd Grin

maria94 · 28/12/2019 21:15

When is everybody going on mat leave? I'm going at 37 weeks but I'm not sure how I'm going to last that long if I'm honest! I'd go now if I could 😅
@barnyb happy birthday!! Xx

Hkals · 28/12/2019 21:20

@barnyb I'm due March 29th. I think we're hoping to have everything by mid Feb and finish work a couple weeks before due date (if I can last that long)

barnyb · 28/12/2019 21:40

@maria94 I’m leaving at 37 weeks too I think but I’m struggling loads at work. I’m on my feet all day and I’m worried about the whole back situ. It’s really no joke isn’t it xx

maria94 · 28/12/2019 22:02

@Hkals @barnyb it's that thin line between not over doing it and leaving a bit earlier or plodding on through till the end and have more mat leave left for time with baby. Very difficult. I think I will see how I go! Hoping I can keep going until 37 weeks 🤞🏼 x

barnyb · 29/12/2019 11:15

@emmaclare83 hahaha ! It’s definitely something different! Heh! 🤪

barnyb · 29/12/2019 11:16

@maria94 yes totally ! We will all just have to see how the next month goes.... only one more month get through ! Excited 😆

MiniJMac · 29/12/2019 22:22

@emmaclare83 I would think that it's still a bit easy to be told you are breech as theres still loads of time for little one to turn.
My first born was noticed as breech at 40 weeks and we had a successful ECV at 40+3. Don't worry yourself about breech just yet, just go with the flow

Jesskir89 · 30/12/2019 11:33

Morning ladies, has anyone been referred for antenatal classes yet? If so who referred you?

strawberrye · 30/12/2019 11:52

@Jesskir89 we have self referred for both private and NHS provided antenatal classes, I haven't heard of anyone having to refer you for them other than you organising it for yourself

sadtoday21 · 30/12/2019 11:56

@Jesskir89 referred myself and just heard back that I'm booked for mid-February, when I'll be 36 weeks.

MissPepper8 · 30/12/2019 12:08

@barnyb Ah bless you x Christmas has gone so fast, we've all (except me actually lol) been ill so it's been a bit of a cuddle up inside time. It will go so fast now, I think I've got 11 weeks and 2 days left x

Jesskir89 · 30/12/2019 12:09

@sadtoday21 and @strawberrye thank you I'll have a look online :)

MissPepper8 · 30/12/2019 12:10

@Jesskir89 My midwife told me I was too early to ring, she actually with my first was going to ring for me and then went on leave and forgot so I missed out on all of that.

I think I'm gonna book myself for hypnobirthing though, just when do you do it though? x

SweetChillis · 30/12/2019 15:16

You ladies are lucky you have the chance to go to NHS antenatal classes. Where I live they no longer do them which I'm sure will be the norm across the whole country in the near future. It's either watch the free videos on the NHS website or book privately yourselves. I feel sorry for those on low income who can't afford private classes. Got my first one 8th January, I'm due 8th March though so February ones were getting too late for me Smile
